    NWA Powerrr

Reminder: The $15 preorder price for NWA Hard Times on Fite ends in a couple of hours. I'm debating on whether or not to order it, even though there's no announced card and I'm woefully behind on watching Powerrr.
  2. I will disagree slightly with @Coffey - I think the fans would have wholeheartedly embraced Punk if he had returned to the ring for WWE or AEW (and probably still would if he shows up in the Royal Rumble). No one cares about Punk's UFC background. Unfortunately for Punk, no one cares about WWE Backstage either. That's why it was easy for everyone to side with Miz in this. 1. Punk was wrong and an asshole. 2. Miz is actually wrestling week-in and week-out. The fans can easily see him and respect what he's doing. No one is watching Punk on a late night talk show. "Out of sight, out of mind" and "what have you done for me lately?" both apply to Punk. True, Punk was never a fluid "worker." It was all about charisma, attitude, and mic work. Further proof that rasslin' doesn't matter and is never what draws. I'd also take Miz over Punk, but Miz is successful for mostly the same reasons.
  3. Which makes me wonder: How the hell is As for Brandi... 1. Pairing Brandi and Kong was a solid idea. 2. Pairing them with other female wrestlers is also solid. 3. The disconnect comes with Brandi trying to do an evil "Wicked Witch of the West" Halloween gimmick. In addition to being the drizzling shits, it's not real. People know Brandi, and they know that's not who she is. You can't really get away with that anymore, especially in AEW.
  4. Mad Dog: The Maurice Vachon Story is currently on sale for $4.99 on Kindle. I really liked Bertrand Hébert's Patterson book, so this should be good too.
  5. 1. Bret is a multi-millionaire. 2. It's his daughter - the fruit of his loins, daddy - not a random family member.
  6. Don't think the workers and families affected are going to take much comfort in that. No, it's not Bret's responsibility, but he can easily make it right. His daughter may be a grown woman in age, but she certainly isn't one in maturity or behavior.
  7. Proof that the Harts are just as sleazy and slimy as any other carny rasslin' family. Slam Wrestling: Hart wrestling family's Calgary restaurant shuts down, owing staff thousands Bret can easily afford to cut one check and pay everyone his deadbeat daughter stiffed. I don't think he should bail her out to keep a failing business afloat, but I do think he should make it right for all of the workers affected by her lack of business acumen and basic human decency.

    NWA Powerrr

I'm woefully behind on the NWA and want to catch up. I missed the clip show (two episodes before Into the Fire) and haven't seen anything since. I don't have time to binge-watch a bunch of hourlong shows. Can anyone give me a playlist of must-see moments, matches, and promos? Thanks.
  9. I thought it was an immensely watchable show. A huge positive is that they're finally setting up things on one show that leads to the next, which was seemingly a lost art WWE forgot about for years. That alone makes these shows so much more tolerable.
  10. His tights look orange to me. Is it my TV or am I colorblind?
  11. Who else auditioned?
  12. Wade Keller is absolutely decimating Corey Graves on Twitter. Between the Mauro shit, "the first rule of punk rock" and other meltdowns, and now this, Corey really has become an embarrassment. It's sad. I wish he'd be more self-aware, cut the shit out, and get back to doing what he's actually good at because he is a talented young man.
  13. @goodhelmet Why did you respond to and then erase a comment to me? I still got a board notification for it, but now I have no idea what you said.
  14. I loved the wedding. It was the best and worst of wrestling all wrapped up into one! Yeah... I think you might be giving WWE too much credit here. Depicting Liv as a deranged jilted ex-lover is not exactly the ideal way to present WWE's first official (I think) LGBTQ+ storyline. Satin is making a fool of himself, as usual, on Twitter going into overdrive defending it. With all of that said, I don't think this storyline is mocking gay relationships - like Twitter thinks - any more than than it's mocking straight relationships with all of the Rusev-Lana-Lashley silliness. It's all completely over-the-top and everything is being presented in a "heightened" fashion.
  15. One day I might have grandkids... ...and I'll be able to tell them I was there for Lana and Bobby Lashley's wedding.

    NWA Powerrr

Another toxic liability for the NWA: Lagana and Billy really can't win. She's responding to this: Another accuser comes forward and responds to Melina: Statement from Rick Cataldo (the wrestler being accused): What a sad, fucked-up situation.
  17. So, Cornette is apparently suing over a couple of t-shirts made without his permission that mock him. https://www.mandatory.com/wrestlezone/news/1161418-jim-cornette-clownette-t-shirt-statement Ironically, Jim copied the first design and is now selling it himself.
  18. Except for one importance difference: Japanese-made games are actually successful in the United States - New Japan Pro Wrestling is not.
  19. A crippling blow for the roid-infested (lol) NJPW? This company's U.S. strategy has been bizarrely incompetent from the jump. - NJPW World is only available on Fire Stick (and I assume Android devices), but not Roku, AppleTV, PS4, etc. - NJPW America (or whatever it's called) is announced, but there are no plans for U.S. TV broadcasts. What?! - Sticking with the DOA ROH instead of aligning with AEW. Unpopular opinion: NJPW doesn't understand the U.S. market, has no idea what it's doing in that regard, and things like Jericho-Omega were happy accidents instead of a defined strategy for making inroads in the U.S.
  20. I guess NJPW doesn't do any testing...
  21. It could possibly be a "stunt" article, but the impression I got it while reading it is that he's familiar with the majority of the AEW roster from seeing them in other organizations (NJPW, Impact, etc.) or reading about them (which isn't the same thing).
  22. Pretty sure he was joking.
  23. Review of this week's show from a first time viewer: https://alleverythingentertainment.com/aew-dynamite-12-18-2019-review-by-a-first-time-viewer/ Ouch!
  24. In case this hasn't been posted yet... https://shop.wwe.com/mauro-ranallo-maammma-miaaa!!!-authentic-t-shirt/3848328BAA.html
