It's not that I don't believe @rovert - I do - I just don't understand what Marty's motivation could possibly be for staying in ROH. The place is a dumpster fire that's never been less relevant, less buzzed about, less cool than it is now. PCO as Champion is a good sign, but that alone can't cure all that ails ROH.

Scurll showed up at the latest set of ROH tapings... What is this guy thinking?! Yeah, I'm sure ROH threw an obscene amount of money at him to stay, but he'll never be this coveted again.
-
I read somewhere that Vince McMahon once said 90 minutes was the perfect length for a wrestling TV show. Sure wish he'd take his own advice now, or that others in wrestling would take the same advice.

This doesn't exactly help ROH's case... Ciampa smokes Lethal and Cole in every single aspect of being a professional wrestler - ring work, character, presentation, you name it. Maybe that wasn't the case then - probably not - but half of the trick of running an indie organization (and make no mistake, that's what ROH is and all it is) is being able to see the diamonds in the rough and extract that potential.

I'm super-happy for PCO. But here's a really compelling read on why ROH is such a disaster and actually has been one for a lot longer than any of us might have thought. Wrestling Inc.:Tommaso Ciampa Recalls ROH Telling Him How Little He Was Worth

Aldis and Scurll have a legit history and friendship dating back 15+ years. That writes itself. I know they've already had a match for the NWA Title, but their backstory is still compelling regardless.

If Fite wasn't such an awfully designed site (it logged me out and refused to send me password reset e-mails until it was too late for me to get the preorder price), I'd probably be watching this right along with you guys. But boy hoo boy, nothing about that card is exactly making me regret missing out. Still, I'm sure it will be a fun time and exceed expectations, even if only marginally.

Of course it's the right thread - Lana is doing Hall of Fame work right now and is a lock to be the female nomination this year. (Thanks for the heads-up. I deleted the post here and reposted it to the weekly WWE thread.)

Same exact scenario with me last week. I wasn't really in the mood, and the only thing that struck me as "must-see" was that hilarious gif with Keith Lee rising up like a movie monster behind Finn Balor.

This is my guess (and hope) too. The show is already too damn long as it is. People are speculating that it won't happen, but I think Batista understands the WWE system, knew exactly what he was doing by tweeting his choice publicly, and - let's face it - is a bigger star than the rest of the roster combined. Plus, Batista knows how to get what he wants... (I know I'm probably not the first person to make that joke.)

And you can't teach that!

Big Cass vs. Joey Janela: a dream match nowhere in the world.

This would be a disaster. They are easily the best and most compelling team in the NWA, and Kingston has singles star written all over him.

Is something like this possible and easy to add to the board? I’d love it! Thanks.

WWE TV 12/02 - 12/08 DiCaprio is setting the world on fire!

Yeah, I hope not... ...assuming this is about ROH, and Scurll himself isn't jumping to greener pastures. -

I fucking love them. I've been on the Burch bandwagon for ages. (It's a very lonely bandwagon with only a few passengers.) -
Under-the-radar wrestling book recommendations
C.S. replied to Cross Face Chicken Wing's topic in Pro Wrestling
I guess I was tracking this in ereaderiq.com, because I got a notification today that it's free. Do Not Try This At Home: A Cautionary Tale About Wrestling by Christopher Holley (Author), Kabita Studios (Illustrator) It's a children's book about wrestling. Looks like fun! You need a tablet to read it though - a regular B&W e-ink Kindle won't work. Note: Scroll down past the Kindle Unlimited "read for free" button and click on the button under $0.00. Not sure how long the freebie will last. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KOPXRZK/ -
Unfortunately, I didn't get my first password reset e-mail until 11:40 p.m. - just enough time to still order the show and get the preorder price - but, alas, after I went to bed and too late for me to actually see the e-mail. So, I lose out. It's just as well, because I've cooled off on the NWA considerably (I skipped last week's show and I've yet to watch this week's) and the PPV looks like trash. I'm sure it will still be fun, and I'm sure I would've enjoyed it, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. For all of the problems WWE Network has, they are miles ahead of every other wrestling streaming service. My own fault for "waiting until the last minute" but also Fite's fault for having such a bad website and NWA's fault for ending a price promotion on a Saturday night (WTF?).

I wasn't excusing ACH's behavior, just saying that Shad's description of it was outdated.
-
Here's Shad's tweet: The "bipolar crying shit" line exposes how behind the times wrestling is about mental illness, but I don't expect Shad to get any heat over it because the rest of what he says is sound. Like @Mad Dog said, everyone really is sick of ACH's shit now.

Reminder: Today is the last day to order NWA Into the Fire at the $19.99 preorder price. Of course, Fite is fucking useless, logged me out, and won't send me a password reset e-mail. Their loss, and the NWA's, I guess.

So much for that...
