  1. 1. I first heard of the TNT extension and second show rumors after Dynamite and my posts. If they were announced before, I missed them. 2. Of course Google is now failing me at the most inopportune time, but the rumor is mentioned here: https://www.cagesideseats.com/2019/12/5/20996196/rumor-roundup-vince-mcmahon-loved-lashley-lana-arrest-aew-buyers-remorse-scurll I wish I had something a little less flimsier than that to show you, but it will at least provide proof that the rumor was out there. @rovert's name is attached to it, so maybe he can provide added detail? 3. Because Omega and The Bucks have booked themselves into irrelevancy. I realize there's a fine line they have to tow being EVPs, but my God, Vince Russo couldn't have sabotaged them any worse than they've sabotaged themselves. As for PAC, you make a good point about him being a draw in England. If AEW ever does tour internationally, PAC would be good to have in their back pocket. I'm also not expecting everyone to be The Rock and do realize that charisma comes in many different forms. But PAC, to me, is drier than Melba toast. :\ NEVER!!!
  2. Yes, but: 1. My posts pre-date that news. 2. PAC's signing and the original rumors about Tony regretting spending so much on certain people came weeks/months before this TNT extension, second show, etc. news. 3. Call my point laughable and subjective all you want, but if PAC left today, AEW would be fine. If he re-joined WWE/NXT tomorrow, he would not be a difference-maker. Losing MJF, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, etc. would be felt more. Personality, charisma, and character > movez any day of the week. PAC's first official AEW match was delayed for months, and AEW still did just fine without him, which is all the proof you need that he's just another cog in the wheel. PAC is being used sort of like Drew McIntyre in WWE (not a perfect example, but close enough), which is a good way to use him. Anyway, I've said all I have to say about PAC. (For this week, at least.) Movez fans will continue to adore him. I will continue to be bored with his staggering lack of charisma, personality, character, and starpower. We'll all continue to hopefully enjoy most of what AEW has to offer. Most importantly, we'll all continue to be a united front in our dislike of The Dark Order and The Nightmare Collective.
  3. Is the thread listed below breaking the board for anyone else? I can't get it to load. "Is Tessa Blanchard the best American woman worker?" How many matches to watch to make a conclusion? By War is Raw, 2 hours ago
  4. I take back anything bad I ever said about Scurll re-signing with ROH. That was clearly the better choice than leading the dead end Dark Order.
  5. I think you're misinterpreting my post a bit as "I hate PAC, so therefore Tony Khan must regret signing him," when in actuality, there's a specific rumor going around that Khan regrets spending so much on certain signings and is now under the constraints of a tight budget because there's little left over. Assuming the rumor is true (which it may not be), PAC is absolutely someone that would fall in that category (along with Spears). That doesn't mean Khan doesn't want PAC or wishes he hadn't signed PAC at all. Tony can still regret spending so much of AEW's limited budget on a wrestler while still being pleased with what he contributes. The fact is, PAC wasn't a star of any kind before and is still less of a star than younger talent like MJF, Darby, and Sammy Guevera. I'm inclined to believe the rumor because Marty Scurll seemed like a sure thing for AEW but ended up re-signing with ROH instead. If Tony had unlimited funds or didn't use up more than he should've for the likes of PAC and Spears, some of that funding could've gone toward signing "The Villain" instead. Not me! Matt Hardy is better off being used as a jobber on Main Event for big money than having anything to do with the shitfest that is The Dark Order. Not even the "Broken Universe" can save this putrid pile of dog dookie.
  6. @The Thread Killer Fair enough on PAC's 205 run. With that said, all of his matches with Aries blend together in my mind and none of them felt special to me. To be fair though, they were all on the pre-show, where nothing feels special or gets enough time, so I won't hold that against PAC or Aries (who I also think is an overrated geek). I still stand by what I said: If Tony Khan signed PAC to big money and if Tony Khan regrets some of those big money deals, I have to think he's regretting the PAC deal. I'm not saying he doesn't want PAC on the roster. I'm sure he does. I'm not saying PAC doesn't fill a role. I'm sure he does. But paying huge money for someone like PAC, who is never realistically going to be a major draw for the company and whose ceiling is probably gatekeeper with a future token World Title reign thrown in, is not exactly the ideal use of presumably limited funds. To me, guys like MJF, Sammy Guevara, and Darby Allin already feel like much bigger deals and stars than PAC while probably getting paid a lot less. If I'm Khan and I did pay a bundle for PAC or even Spears, I would absolutely regret it when there's only so much money to go around. Am I wrong? I don't think I am. Anyway, I wrote a lengthy post on the entire episode, and you and @Blehschmidt focused only on the one sentence I wrote about PAC. Is it possible you two have a blind spot toward him, just you think I do in the opposite direction?
  7. My thoughts: - Santana and Ortiz were easily the best team in the match, followed by The Young Bucks. The Omega-Page team is pointless filler to give them something to do, even if they did win. Best Friends are "just there" for me. The match itself was a rasslin' movez flip fest, which does nothing for me. Only Santana-Ortiz and Bucks came close to making their flips mean anything and pulling them out at the right time. J.R. burying the lack of rules in the tag division - both here and elsewhere - may be valid, but it's an awful look for the show. - Cody's Miami Vice get-up was great and his promo was even better. - Joey Janela is a geek and now he looks like a homeless bum too. Never realized how bad his teeth were. Quick, someone page Britt Baker! - The women's tag was nothing special, but Satlander and Mel can carry this division. Brandi would be fine in a managerial role and without this Dungeon of Doom bullshit gimmick. - Dark Order is dogshit, period. - Moxley-Guevera wasn't bad. The post-match angle with the spike to the eye was the real star there. - Alcoholism isn't a great angle, so I have no idea WTF they're doing with drunken Adam Page and sober Kenny Omega. It feels very odd and disconnected. - Six-man tag with MJF and DDP was fun, but I got distracted during it. I love the look of Butcher, Blade, and Bunny. There's something there. - I had a raging headache so I skipped the PAC match. As exciting and explosive as Darby is, I don't think the youngster is quite polished enough to carry an uncharismatic 205 castoff just yet. When you hear the rumors of Tony Khan regretting signing some of those big contracts, PAC has to be one of the guys he's thinking of. (So is Shawn Spears. As much as I've defended the guy in the past, even I have to admit that it hasn't worked at all. Maybe he should've come in as the crowd-pleasing "10" character or some variation that wouldn't get him sued instead of the heel who does sloppy chairshots? I dunno.) Overall, I thought the show was slightly underwhelming. Again, maybe it was my headache. The set and graphics were fucking amazing though, and I loved the promos and angles. We needed more of that and less rasslin', flips, and movez. I'm not looking for Raw with 20-minute insomnia-curing promos, but AEW hasn't quite that happy medium between in-ring and character work yet IMO.
  8. I think the lame b-level failed soap opera, sitcom, and "comedy" writers WWE hires are just as much to blame, if not more. Unless you mean stuff like Being the Elite, which I don't watch, but some find it funny and others think it's cringe-worthy.
  9. Good comedy is welcome. The problem is, 99% of "wrestling comedy" is putrid. I don't think Mick Foley deserves the blame for that though, as I remember the majority of his comedy skits being hysterical at best and painless at worst.
  10. Confirmed by Meltzer:
  11. Post's Golden Crisp and and Honey Comb cereals have an offer to get WWE Network free for 3 months if you aren't a current subscriber. Look for Becky Lynch or Big Show on the boxes. My grocery store had these BOGO, so I bought four for the price of two, uploaded the receipt to https://wwexpost.com/, and got the offer after a few days. Worked like a charm! I now have the Network free through WrestleMania. (Well, really $7 or $8 for three months, but the cereal is good!) Since this is some weird cereal site you'll never use again, I recommend getting the cereals on a separate receipt and paying cash, as well using a secondary e-mail address and fake name/info for the cereal site. Won't affect your WWE site login/info. BTW, if anyone cares, I think Golden Crisp is much better than Honey Comb, but both are good.
  12. "feminism is the future of marketing, it's the way brands r going 2 win"
  13. Oh, Bubba. Anyway, pretty boring show. The fist fight, which didn't end with anyone being knocked out with a fist, was absurdly bad. Buddy joining Rollins and AOP was a fun ending though.
  14. I wonder how Delirious feels about that. If that guy has any kind of executive position or influence, what a terrible idea... I don't care how "creative" he is - he has shown himself to be a massive liability in every other way. It boggles my mind why anyone is still interested in this guy in 2020.
  15. If this is true, I really question Scurll re-signing with a dying brand for a co-booker role where he'll potentially be undermined and overturned every step of the way. Co-ANYTHING usually doesn't work in positions such as this one.
  16. Except, I'm not sensitive, offended, or outraged by what you choose to watch or not watch, or anything you've posted. We're not living together, so why the fuck would I care? I was just wondering if you felt the same way about a similar situation (Hulk) - that's all, nothing more, nothing less. I had a little fun with my post, which seems to have triggered you for some reason. Please accept my sincerest apologies if I've upset you. You okay, man? You usually seem more even-keeled than this. While it's now clear that you don't particularly like me, my posts, or my opinions, I still enjoy reading yours.
  17. Who wouldn't be jealous of an Impact main eventer? That's like being the head chef at McDonald's.
  18. Tessa's lone defender?
  19. Agreed. And we've all experienced countless examples of that in wrestling, never mind mainstream media.
  20. Or I saw an opportunity to type a post like Hulk and took it. On a more serious note, I was just wondering if you would defend Hulk for "being in a different place in his life" when he made his racist rant years ago like you are for Tessa now. I think that's a fair question to ask, don't you? I'm not sure I've ever read this Scott Keith that you speak of, but yes, I did run off on a bit of a tangent there. As for The Usos, I think they're straight up trash people, overrated wrestlers, don't draw a dime, and I'd be fine if I never saw their cringe-worthy characters or lame-ass catchphrases on my TV ever again. I've no idea how you feel about them, however, and don't really care either way because it's not like you'd change my mind and they're not worth the energy to debate as far as I'm concerned. BTW, yes, I suppose I am "one strange cat, jack." Never denied it!
  21. Did you give The Hulkster the same leeway...brother? Or does Tessa get a free pass because she's a "better worker," JACK! (Even though she isn't. Hulk is a better worker than 99.9% of the pimped darlings on this forum and on the internet in general...brother!)
  22. Here are the tweets from the other thread: Shockingly, there have been even more since then. But someone else can gather those up.
  23. Tessa responds to someone else. Not sure who, but I assume Sienna/Allysin Kay. Tessa's fangirls are out in full force on Twitter, but IMO, when there's smoke, there's fire...
  24. More: Like @SirEdger said, I don't think it will make a difference to Tessa's Impact push - but she is absolutely done on a major league level. WWE already wanted nothing to do with her, and now AEW won't go near either IMO (even though daddy works there). Update: I think this is about Tessa too. Tessa responds to Chelsea Green:
  25. Not sure where to post this, but Tessa Blanchard is getting absolutely eviscerated on Twitter right now. We knew she had a horrible, toxic reputation, and we figured there was a reason WWE steered clear of signing such a "sure thing," but now we have evidence...
