We talk about how bad the Dark Order gimmick is, but So Cal Uncensored is the epitome of a local indie gimmick. Wish they'd retool it to have national and international appeal.

Commentators sounded dumb as fuck thinking that was Dark Order and not immediately recognizing Jericho. I realize it was supposed to be a "mystery" but it was obvious from the get-go.

This match is a great example of time limits really meaning something. The invisible clock added exponential drama to the match.

Agreed, @goodhelmet. In the case of hiring J.R., this is one instance where I'm glad AEW ignored the millennial "movez" fans. J.R. makes everything better and adds a credibility to AEW that money can't buy. Excalibur is very good too, but my God, that mask is goofy. I have a soft spot for Marvez because I read his "insider" column as a kid long before I knew what a Meltzer was.

The name Dark Order doesn't help either. Sounds like some bad, hokey e-fed or video game CAW shit.

My guess is somewhat real means, "Yeah, we know it's fake, but that match was real because Ric Flair still has a scar."

Best on Interviews: The Miz (as hated as his Shane feud may have been, The Miz transitioned into a tough guy and family man convincingly) Feud of the Year: Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston Most Improved: Cody (genuine improvement - no one else put all the pieces together as a persona and in-ring performer the way he did this year) Wrestler of the Year: Dustin Rhodes (from WWE afterthought to MOTY, all in the span of one match - an incredible achievement and even more impressive at the age of 50+)
