@Matt D gave me Hollywood Blondes vs Marcus Bagwell & 2 Cold Scorpio from the 5/8/93 WCW Worldwide. This was one hell of a tag team match! There was a beautiful sequence early on with Flyin' Brian hiding a foreign object in his kneepad while he told the referee to check Bagwell's boot. Awesome heeling. The Hollywood Blondes were absolute masters when it came to heel tag team techniques. They somehow managed to make an extended abdominal stretch sequence incredibly entertaining. It's sad that stuff like that is basically a lost art now. Seeing Austin do a modified Stone Cold Stunner as a transition spot was a bit jarring in retrospect. At the time, I never had much use for Bagwell and Scorpio as a tag team. It seemed like a waste of Scorpio to me, who I thought was the greatest thing ever back then, because he was doing top rope moves only seen in Japan in the early '90s. But I have to say, Bagwell is much better than I remember him being. Not all of that can be attributed to a carry-job by Austin and Pillman either, because Bagwell was selling very nicely and did a great job during the face in peril portion of the match. I always thought he was miscast as a face - who ever really wanted to cheer this Chippendale wannabe? - but he made a damn good case for himself in this match. This must have been the beginning of the end of The Hollywood Blondes, because dissension was teased throughout. What a waste! While it was obvious that Austin had major singles star written all over him, they could've gotten a lot more mileage out of the Blondes. That was just one of the myriad of bad decisions that plagued WCW back then. I loved the time limit draw finish. That's something you don't see much anymore. Everything here felt so meaningful, which is another art that's been lost in the era of "movez" and no psychology. This told a damn good story in a very entertaining fashion. Thanks for giving this to me, Matt. I had an absolute blast watching it! (BTW, is it just me or did Roku used to have a Dailymotion app? If there ever was one, it's not there anymore - at least not that I can find. I ended up just watching the match on my monitor.)

It's a shame, because he seemed poised to break out again after his Survivor Series victory (the one where Sting debuted), but WWE did nothing with him after that. As for Total Divas, are you serious?! Of all the reasons to cool off on a guy, his scripted actions on a fake reality show are among them?

Weird comment re: Jericho. I would absolutely be outraged. His entire third book was a drunken embarrassment. It made him look like an asshole, and I said as much at the time. With that being said, Jericho doesn't have a history of DUI (that we know of) - The Usos do. I'm glad you brought up the stories we've all heard about wrestlers in the '70s and '80s taking a six pack and driving from town to town. It's a miracle there weren't more casualties. The Usos or Jeff Hardy are going to have to fucking kill someone before WWE gets serious about this, stops rewarding bad behavior (The Usos won titles the last time something happened), and maybe moves to a bus touring system or some other solution. Some of the top guys already have buses, or at least that was a thing 5-10 years ago, but not everyone is going to want to spend their money on that. WWE should step in and provide it. They already do for NXT and overseas tours.

Great post, @DMJ. For me, a DUI is one of the worst crimes because it's reckless, selfish, and could potentially end other people's lives (not to mention the driver's). In your case, you made a mistake, learned from it, felt genuine remorse, and will never do it again. I can only respect that. I'm not seeing the same thing from The Usos. When WWE says (and not for the first time) "Jonathan Fatu is responsible for his own personal actions," that to me reeks of insincere bullshit - because the next time this happens, if a life is lost, WWE is fucking responsible.

Jimmy Uso was arrested again for DUI. Fuck him. And fuck WWE for constantly looking the other way and giving him a million "second" chances. "Jonathan Fatu is responsible for his own personal actions." When the next DUI ends with a casualty, WWE will be responsible too.

The post doesn't even make any sense, because the context of both pictures is completely different. One is clearly a casual group shot taken backstage during the show where they're all in their gear and gimmicks and the other is from a fucking press conference where they're all dressed up.

ROH really is a sinking ship. It's kinda sad to see.
