I came into this thread expecting to see everyone gushing over that awful MJF segment. Glad to be wrong. His delivery was great. Alas, he was delivering dogshit instead of pizza.

I'd normally criticize having a mega-dork like KoR injure Sting, but it was apparently a legit injury, so... In any case, having said dorkus maximus win the match after injuring the guy's partner is ass-backward. Maybe it's building to the tag match that the cool painted guys win, or even Sting vs. KoR, which Sting will win, but why? I don't think anyone's clamoring for more of this feud.

A match with no story, no build, reason to exist is something I'll never make time for. Good wrestling is a vacuum is completely meaningless to me. Plus, you know, fucking Kyle O'Reilly won.

None of this is motivating me to order DoN. I was on the fence before, and if anything, this has tipped me firmly into the "I'll save my money" category. The build hasn't been great, and while I'm sure the matches will be bangers, good wrestling in a vacuum means nothing to me.

BTW, FWIW, AEW posted this an hour ago on Facebook with a picture: #Wardlow has now met all the stipulated sanctions set by #MJF and they will finally face each other TOMORROW (May 29th) at #AEWDoN (Double Or Nothing) LIVE from Las Vegas, NV on PPV at 8pm ET/7pm CT! Available on Bleacher Report, AEWplus.com (FITE ) & PPV.com (intl)! Could be a timed post, but still.

Not to take away from the MJF talk, but... Holy crap! This is hot as hell. Easily the best looking title in AEW now and one of the best ever, period.

The Roku app is useless - everything is behind a paywall, which definitely wasn't the case with the old Jarrett-Parsons Wrestling app.

With Joe apparently also no-showing, I think there's more to this than 1. real life contract dissatisfaction and/or 2. a worked-shoot related to that.

And if/when Wardlow squashes MJF (the right and only logical booking choice IMO), that will only build this story up further.

If WWE cut Bryan after "career-ending" concussions, everyone would've been out for blood. I'm sure Bryan, while gutted to be forced into retirement, was still happy to be paid.

I agree, but I wonder if that was by design. We all know Regal is one of the best mic workers ever. He's also old-school. As a manager, he would not want to overshadow a current worker (Jericho) or his current allies (Mox and Eddie). What he said was was a cute introduction, and then he set up his boys to do the heavy lifting, which they should since they're the ones in the match.

What was wrong with the Deeb segment, Bubba? She's hardly a natural on the mic, but the content was good.

Maki Ito is definitely an underwhelming surprise, but it makes sense to save the big guns for matches they'd win. Joe wasn't losing here and neither will Britt.

Whatever happened, it was a clunky mismatch from the start. Slow Mo Joe vs. Johnny "Should've Been Called Dynamite" Elite was a clash of styles, to say the least.

It was an exaggerated response to your silly post minimizing Sasha's role in Mandalorian because she had "2-3 lines." That alone still makes more famous and relevant than even the top WWE names, period. Star Wars is a worldwide phenomenon. WWE is a niche with a cult following that depletes more and more every year.

The Mandalorian and the Star Wars universe are a million times bigger than WWE is or ever will be, so even if she was a background extra with no lines, that would still make her instantly more famous and culturally relevant than any top WWE wrestler.

I'm late to the party with Raw tonight, but can't wait to finally sit down and watch my two favorite wrestlers in the whole world - Sasha Banks and Naomi - put on a banger in the main event!

I feel the same way. Unless something ramps up quickly, it will be an easy miss for me. Will AEW still deliver a banger of a PPV? I'm sure. But I'm also sure I can save my $50 and feel fine about it.
