  1. TBH, AJ has yet to have a truly great match at WrestleMania (not counting the Boneyard Match, which was great but a different animal entirely).
  2. I remember they were planning to at a SummerSlam or something. I can't remember why it never happened.
  3. These pre-shows are a complete waste of time. NXT Day 1 and Day 2 should be what the pre-show slots are used for. No one even remembers Stand and Deliver, and it was yesterday.
  4. Can't argue with this.
  5. The water okay in France? Your idea definitely would have won an award though. The Dave Meltzer Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic of the Year Award.
  6. Considering that Jericho was openly mocking the EVP title as "mark" shit and saying he asked for extra money instead because he realizes there's only one boss in reality, I can understand why Cody wouldn't consider being an EVP a bargaining chip when it's a ceremonial title at best, and he was having - in his own words - personal issues with others he couldn't get past. At this point, with a new baby, he may as well chase the money and original dream of becoming the first Rhodes to win a World Title in WWE. He can always go back to AEW, and - don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise - he would be welcomed back there with open arms after a few years away. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and all of that...
  7. Yep. As much as we all love AEW, even Owens beating Hangman Page for the World Title wouldn't have been as big as this - and that wouldn't have happened anyway.
  8. I don't care what anyone says - MOTY!
  9. Not seeing how this is any different from half the main events WWE has put on. Stone Cold's still got it.
  10. KO is main eventing WrestleMania. Can't ever take that away from him.
  11. I want Charlotte in AEW, not because I think AEW would benefit, but because she desperately needs a change of scenery and anything different would be better than what we're getting now. Would be interesting seeing her somewhere where everyone won't bend over backward to please her.
  12. Cody thinks of the big picture - buying up trademarks, etc. - and has contacts outside the business that are invaluable for a startup seeking continued consistent growth. He's also, easily, by far, the most knowledgeable and creative of the EVPs. Kenny and Bucks may be "more exciting" in the ring, but Cody has the best creative wrestling mind of the bunch. Tony Khan's excuse that AEW doesn't need Cody because All Out was fine without him is particularly boneheaded. You know who else wasn't there? The current World Champion "Hangman" Adam Page, and no one is going to argue that AEW would be "fine" without him. Anyway, Cody says it was a personal matter that led to his departure - whatever that means. Good read here: https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/cody-rhodes-wwe-wrestlemania-38-interview-1235221061/
  13. There was a bit of a slow stretch, but that was ultimately a very good match. AEW letting Cody go was definitely a mistake. Hopefully Cody returning to WWE isn't also a mistake. So far so good...
  14. End of Days is legit the most protected finisher in WWE, so this is one Mania finish kickout that actually has impact.
  15. You're right... Next time they're in the American Airlines arena, I expect all of the stewardesses to come out, offer refreshments, and make sure everyone's seats are in the upright position.
  16. Nah, they're not gonna do anything like have cheerleaders come out for no reason.
  17. Didn't JTG lobby for it? If his tag team partner and family are okay with it, that's all that matters. But yeah, I wish the award had nothing to do with Warrior - especially since it's not even what he intended. Warrior wanted the Jimmy Miranda Award to recognize great behind-the-scenes workers.
  18. As he should. Bron looked like a freakin' star just inducting his dad and uncle into the Hall of Fame. "Now I'm going to take the biggest risk of my career and hand the mic over to my uncle Scott." LOL! Bron is money.
  19. What? A career midcarder in WWE should immediately win AEW's World Title in a semi-squash? No. Just no. Yes, Claudio is way better than how WWE perceived and used him, but rushing him to the top the way you're suggesting reeks of "LOLTNA." Thankfully, AEW has been much smarter than that.
  20. So no Honor Club through Fite? I assume this must be outdated then. Weird... https://www.rohwrestling.com/news/roh-honorclub-now-available-fite
  21. I'm still seeing Honor Club on the ROH website, but was it removed from Fite? I'd rather get it through Fite.
  22. How does Honor Club work exactly? Signing up for $10 gets me live access to Friday's Supercard of Honor, correct? Would I be able to watch Supercard of Honor on Roku through Honor Club?

This is sure to thrill several folks here. (Not my post)
  24. There's already a thread, but it was posted in the main section instead of here.

Ricky Starks kind of low-key shot on Sammy and Tay when discussing his own belt (the FTW Title): "I’m very very protective of it. So no, I’m not doing anything nasty with it like some of these people are. I just have a little bit more respect for it.” https://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2022/03/ricky-starks-wants-make-ftw-title-more-important/ Sammy is channel-changing bad as a babyface, and he's dragging Tay in the gutter with him. For all the talk about Pillman Jr. in this thread, I'll take his face run over Sammy's any day - even if Pillman did look like an absolutely moron doing the "fiery babyface" routine after MJF shit all over his family.
