This match was a showcase for Sting instead of Darby, which I question, but damn that was fun. FTR is super-underrated, even when we all know how great they are.

Cody is one of the top workers in AEW now though. Even you can't deny that, Bubba, as much as you may want to.

Even though I wanted Pillman Jr. to win, I agree with all of this. Pillman Jr. is still "green" when it comes to stuff like this.

Great carry-job by Cody on the young boy Malakai Black. A heel Cody will be fun, if that's what happens.

The only thing better than a Cody win here would be Christian coming out for a post-match brawl with Cody. Two of the best workers in the entire business in a hot feud would be instant money.

Since I think very highly of my takes on Pac, I'll take that as a compliment.

Hot take: Cody should and will win. He's a real star with endless crossover appeal. Black wasn't special in NXT, wasn't special in WWE, and isn't special in AEW. He's a big man who can do some movez - big deal!

Pillman Jr. needs to work on expressing anger better. MJF is abusing Julia Hart and Pillman Jr.'s all "rah rah babyface." MJF winning quickly and cleanly is a very unsatisfactory result. Meh.

Pillman Jr. really needs to win this and become a "made man." But he won't because they're all-in on MJF, and I get why, but still.

Fun match, but it really felt like more of a taste, a teaser, which isn't the worst thing in the world. Didn't feel like 30 minutes (in a good way).

Plus, isn't Ospreay autistic? We really shouldn't hold him to neurotypical standards. I am not saying he has a free pass to be excused from any bad behavior - just that there's an additional layer and lens to look through when examining his words and actions. Finally watched the episode... Everyone has already mentioned Flair, Dreamer, and Brock - and rightfully so. Dreamer's bullshit - "she should've pursued this to the fullest extent of the law," or whatever the hell he said - was particularly odious. Fuck him. I think Scott Hall gets too much of a free pass just because he was an out-of-control alcohol who claims he can't remember anything from the flight, but that's just me. I'm surprised no one is really mentioning just how badly Mike Chioda came across. He acted like jock-sniffing frat boy who either wasn't smartened up that the show wasn't going to be a "comedic" stroll down memory lane, or - worse - he apparently views the whole thing as a crazy adventure and "boys will be boys." Dumb as bricks and tone deaf to boot - that's Chioda in a nutshell. Whatever happened there, Coach deleted the tweets and admitted he was wrong.

I'm 100% unfamiliar with Tommy Dreamer as a controversial, divisive figure. What else has he said? Does lend credence to the story my friend told me about overhearing Dreamer shout the n-word in public.

That's horrifying. My guess is AEW has Dustin (and maybe J.R.) do damage control so they can still bring Flair in.
