  1. AJ cut an awesome heel promo to start. Calling herself the "Saviour of the Divas Division" when the CM Punk chants started up quieted the fans up. I was expecting something to happen between AJ and Tamina, but instead Paige came out. I agree with others that Paige came off unprepared for this despite coming out to congratulate AJ in her ring gear. The finish wasn't great but I was more annoyed by the shit commentary that completely failed to get over what was happening than the Paige Turner being botched.
  2. That theme music just doesn't make any sense with Warrior walking slowly to the ring. Michael Cole says its been 6,482 days since Warrior was last on Raw. His promo actually made sense, basically saying the wrestlers legacies are carried on through the fans watching. It's pretty surreal watching this knowing what happens to him. He seemed truly appreciative and I hope it helped him find some peace.
  3. Rusev is like the WWE equivalent of the Dagestani "Smesh Factory" guys that are everywhere in MMA these days. Those guys don't have Lana however. Looking forward to seeing were he goes from here.
  4. Haven't seen Barrett in a match in a while. I hope he has some success with this "Bad News" character, he seems to really be loving it. Mysterio hits a cool sliding splash to the outside before being pinned clean by Barrett. Sad to see Mysterio getting treated essentially the same as Sandow and Ryder here.
  5. Batista and Orton were both upset about losing the night before and also about Hunter giving them this match instead of a rematch for the WWE title. They never treated this like a match and double-teamed their way through the tag champs. Batista Bomb on the steps was brutal. Hopefully the Uso's have the opportunity to get some revenge down the line so this doesn't end up a complete burial.
  6. This character just debuted in NXT, kind of surprised to see him being brought up so soon. I'd like to see his party crew turn into a "Special K" like stable of misfits doing highspots and starting off PPVs.
  7. Brock Lesnar isn't here to put smiles on faces, Brock Lesnar is here to put tears in children's eyes. Lesnar and Heyman come out to gloat about ending the streak. Heyman says that Vince rode to the hospital with the Undertaker after the match. Heyman complains that the announcers gave the Undertaker a standing ovation after the match despite being a Loser, but didn't appreciate Brock. Heyman calls everyone else in the back a wannabe and Brock is The One. He is the 1 in 21-1. Brock stands there with a black eye, smiling and looking like a bad ass the entire time. Awesome promo from Heyman. Would he even be in the WWE in 2014 if it weren't for guys like Lesnar and Punk demanding him? I hope he gets inducted to the HOF one day and talks for two hours.
  8. I Bo-lieve there were 2 of these on the show. Really corny stuff, Bo talking about following your dreams over stock footage of stuff like people climbing rocks and a dog catching a ball in it's mouth. These weren't slickly produced like most WWE vignettes. Someone at Full Sail gave Bo access to the edit bay and he came out with these.
  9. Another solid Raw Six Man match, elevated a bit by the hot crowd. The crowd was super into the Wyatts, and they really lost it when Bray did his Exorcist walk. Sheamus has really grown on me recently with his hard-hitting style, the double forearm off the top rope was a cool move.
  10. This was the start of the show. Good thing too, the crowd was electric for Bryan. The crowd was able to get all their YES chants out, and they were kept to a minimum throughout the rest of the show. Solid opening segment, the new champ coming out to celebrate and thank the crowd. Triple H came out to set up the main event. Just like Wrestlemania the night before, it would have been nice to have a backstage segment or two with Daniel Bryan to advance the night's storyline, but he was not seen again until he came out for the main event.
  11. Agree with both above. John Cena is fine. Bray Wyatt is fine. Story was interesting, and the match was fine. At the end of the day, there were enough memorable moments at Wrestlemania XXX and this will be forgotten.
  12. A bummer that this is the match the streak died on. The build to Wrestlemania was nothing special, and no one expected Lesnar to win. The entire match had the same feeling. The crowd never seemed into it because no one expected the Undertaker to lose. The shock in the crowd after is really incomparable to anything I can think of. Kudos to the ref who apparently had no idea Lesnar was going over and didn't miss a beat calling for the bell.
  13. One of the better battle royals I've seen. The WWE really built this up as a big deal prior to Wrestlemania and it delivered about as well as it could have. Mark Henry eliminated all of 3MB before getting eliminated himself. Fandango got the crowd dancing right before Sheamus hit him with 20+ forearms on the apron. Alberto Del Rio did surprisingly well, he eliminated Santino, Tyson Kidd, Sin Cara, both the Rhodes Brothers, Ziggler before taking Sheamus out with him. He's been just another guy in the quicksand-like midcard for a while, his performance here could be something to build off of. In comparison, then current IC champ Big E did nothing. Kofi Kingston always pulls off some crazy save from elimination in these matches. What he did here, flying over the ropes and landing on his feet on the ring steps, is something I would have had my old action figures pull off in my room when I was 9 years old. Cesaro winning was a great move, seemingly completing a face turn that started earlier in the night. Lifting the Big Show up and eliminating him was a huge "Oh Shit!" moment and the crowd's reaction was impressive. The battle royal doesn't match the spectacle that was the Money In The Bank, but it's nice to have a match that is an annual tradition like this for fans to look forward to.
  14. I think this match is from 3/21, not 3/12. They did a lot in six minutes, probably too much. I love the high-arc German that Harada does. I'm not sure the rules on posting matches, please let me know if it isn't allowed.
  15. I felt like this was nowhere near as enjoyable as the first match. The major reason being the crowd. The crowd would make noise during the highspots but either stayed quiet or chanted for CM Punk throughout the match. It really struck me at the end when Ambrose did his crazy Thesz press punch attack and the crowd barely reacted. Also, they should have done more with Rollins walking out. Ambrose and Reigns walked away from the corner for about ten seconds, Rollins couldn't tag out, and then got pulled away without even a reaction shot from Rollins. He hit one move, then got to his corner and tagged out. There was no shots of Rollins upset in the corner or arguing with Reigns to show his frustration. Rollins started the match on fire until he accidentally got knocked off the turnbuckle to the floor by Ambrose. No follow up there either. Walking away from his teammates just came across like a huge overraction and could have been built up a better. I did enjoy the match, Harper in particular was especially violent, but those two things really held it back for me.
  16. Taker looked especially creepy here.
  17. Match was fine. Right before the finish, Nagata hit this awesome knee as KENTA came running in that stopped him dead and made me scream. Loved that moment.
  18. I loved this match, everything looked real. The short time kind of made sense, young guy went for a big move too soon on the veteran and Casas took advantage with a quick pin.
  19. Loved the story of the match. Barr was really picking up steam on offense for the first time when he got carried away and hit an illegal piledriver. With so much on the line, the humongous crowd watching (apparently the place was so pack, 8,000 fans were watching on a big screen in the parking lot), Barr only working in the country for about a year...he simply forgot. Amazing.
  20. I enjoyed this. They didn't do too much, everything had a purpose and every move was sold like it meant something. It felt real. I loved that the biggest highspot was a dive which ended a fall and had lingering effects on the rest of the match. Just excellent, writing this makes me want to watch again.
  21. The issues with the picture kind of made me nostalgic for my years of watching old VHS tapes. Enjoyed the match, the crowd was going nuts for all the facelocks Misawa was doing. I didn't really see the point of the ref bump, the time limit hit immediately after. I get what they were going for with the second ref coming in but it seemed like the timing was slightly off.
  22. Good match. The streamers flying in while Taue hits a tope was a cool visual. I think my favorite thing was Kawada reversing Taue's abdominal stretch into his own, I rewound that four or five times. It's the little things.
  23. I believe this is the first of Michaels on the yearbook since the Rockers split. There are plenty of signs of future greatness on display here. The amount of confidence he displays is off the charts and unlike anything you would see today. There seemed to be some communication issues causing a few bad looking spots but I was having so much fun watching old HBK I didn't really mind. Finish was a little overbooked but everyone left looking strong.
  24. Nikita Koloff with the crazy eyes. He wants to talk to...someone. They know who they are. Bischoff is as bad at this hosting gig as Valentine is tan.
