-Bill Watts recently sat down and address Mid South Wrestling and it's future. He covered the following topics... The Supdome Show on February 4th -Without a doubt it will be the biggest show in the history of Mid South. The most people we've ever had in the Superdome is 28,000 when the Junkyard Dog defeated Michael Hayes in a Dog Collar Cage Match. He said that JYD and Dibiase are putting everything on the line for this show and only one man will be around the next day. Mid South Wrestlers going to Japan -I have working relationships with Inoki and Baba. I've got some real talented guys going over there and the exposure is great. It shows the true star power of Mid South Wrestling. The recent talks of WTBS and it's wrestling programming -I think it is absolutely absurd. You talk about a national television company, one of the biggest in the country just flip flopping every 3 months. Everyone who comes in drops out quicker than a hiccup. I dare say that Turner has absolutely no clue what the hell is going on with the programming. If he ever wakes up and wants something consistent with the top stars in the country, tell him to give me a call. It is too bad the good people of Georgia have to suffer through this kind of malarkey. The recent talks of Mid South running in New York -We simply went to New York to talk about programming. There is absolutely no talks of Mid South traveling East. With the states we have, and the big addition of Texas, we have got plenty on our plate and are more visible now than ever before. Talks of running Texas Stadium -Even with the weather and our current product, it would be difficult to run a stadium show like that after we invest so much into the Superdome. You are talking almost 50,000... that would be a goal of ours down the line and we are going to do our best on February 4th to pack the Superdome. Vince McMahon's role in Mid South -Vince McMahon is working with me as the head of talent relations. He and I work together with talent coming in and contracts. With our recent expansion, my role has been diversified elsewhere. He has done a great job picking up that role. He gets help from Jim Ross who also helps Joel with production on both Power Pro and our Sunday and Monday loop shows. The signing of Gino Hernandez -I think Gino Hernandez is one of the best wrestlers in the world today. He comes at a very high price and rightfully so. We don't have anything locked in full-time yet, but we're still negotiating those terms. The future of Mid South -I am very happy with what we've done moving out to Texas. Like I said with New York, we are looking to get programming throughout the country in some major markets. Vince McMahon has done a great job calling in and getting meetings in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles. We just want to get programming and possible down the line look at some shows here and there.

I LOVED seeing Chris Adams with the upset over Bock. It may go completely unnoticed in the scheme but that's a huge win. I have said it before, you've got the three best managers perhaps in the history of wrestling, each with some premiere power. WWA continues to be a premiere territory in the world of wrestling we've created.

Always interesting to see people's booking styles. Your Survivor Series rebooks must have run over with these great ten-man tags. Nice to see the Vachons (as grizzled veterans) getting that last run as babyfaces here. The thing I like about your roster is the old timers, youngsters, and then guys in their absolute primes. You've got a mix of everything and some legit star power to be built in the Mid Atlantic area. Great start to the rebirth of MACW. -

LowBlowPodcast replied to agentofenton's topic in Armchair Booking
I've thoroughly enjoyed these so far. I am interested to see how the next couple of years go with the roster... could be some very interesting books scenarios with some low spots and some different guys coming into the promotion. -

Power Pro Wrestling Sunday January 29th Vince: Welcome everyone to Power Pro Wrestling! I am Vince McMahon and what a night of action we have for you fans. We have got action with Bruiser Brody and Magnum TA teaming up as we saw that they would be in the Superdome on February the 4th. Let’s take a look at footage from this past week’s MSW and see exactly what happened. -We cut to footage from this past week’s MSW. We see Tully Blanchard calling out Magnum TA and then Bruiser Brody saying he would team with Magnum. We then cut to footage of Brody and Magnum teaming up… Bruiser Brody & Magnum TA vs Raul Castro & Israel Matia -McMahon and Ross put this over in a big way. They talk about Brody and Magnum teaming up and wonder who could be Tully Blanchard’s partner. Magnum hits Israel with a huge belly – to – belly suplex and then Brody runs with a huge flying knee drop! 1…2…3 and Brody and Magnum work the crowd. Who will join Tully in the Superdome? *COMMERCIAL* -Power Pro returns with Vince McMahon talking about the influx of talent. He puts over some of the stars who have wrestled in Mid South in the past and he says that one man has returned. He puts over Maniac Matt Borne and he talks about his ties with Ted Dibiase, Dino Bravo, and Adrian Adonis. He wonders just where he will fall in his recent return. He talks about how he is unpredictable and perhaps someone who could make some serious waves given the chance. Matt Borne vs Omar Atlas -Borne comes back to Mid South and he looks to be in pretty good shape. McMahon and Ross really put him over as a challenger for the Television or North American championship. Borne is really working the back and before too long we see nice Northern Light’s Suplex for the 1….2…3! Borne looks to be talking to himself and putting his hands through his hair… what does the future hold for this Maniac? *COMMERCIAL* -Power Pro returns with Vince McMahon putting over Andre the Giant. He puts over the big contest with the Executioner in the Superdome. He talks about Andre contending for the North American Championship on February the 3rd in Houston. He wonders if he could walk away with the title and defend it in the Superdome. We then get to see him in action. Andre the Giant vs Johnny Rodz & Dominic DeNucci - A nice handicap contest here with Andre the Giant. Ross and McMahon say that Andre is without a doubt the favorite against Dibiase in Houston. They talk about how he could walk away with the title and then defend the title against The Executioner. Tonight he handles Rodz and DeNucci pretty good and finishes things when he bodyslams Rodz on top of DeNucci and then butt slams for the 1…2…3! Andre works the crowd as the fans love seeing him. *COMMERCIAL* - Power Pro returns with McMahon talking about the big NWA World Championship match. He talks about Duggan’s buddy Dr. Death Steve Williams returning. He says that Williams will be in action this week against Krusher Kruschev. He then turns his attention to the Mid South Television Championship. He puts over Wrestling II and says Scott Casey is looking for return from Starrcade and losing his hair. He says that Casey may want the title and the mask and do whatever it takes to walk about with both. Brady Boone vs Scott Casey -A good contest with Casey really looking strong over the recent weeks. Casey works over Boone pretty good and says that Wrestling II is going to lose his title. Casey works over the neck and skull and then he hits the Brainbuster on Boone for the 1…2…3! Ross and McMahon talk about Casey vs Wrestling II at the Superdome. Can Casey get his hands on the gold and put an end to Wrestling II’s reign? *COMMERCIAL* -Power Pro returns with Vince putting over the card for the Superdome on February the 4th. MID SOUTH PRESENTS THE BATTLE FOR NEW ORLEANS Saturday February 4th 1984 NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP LOSER LEAVES TOWN FOR ONE YEAR ONLY THE WINNER CAN BRING HIM BACK EARLY! Junkyard Dog vs Ted Dibiase © NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Hacksaw Duggan vs Ric Flair © MID SOUTH TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Mr. Wrestling II © vs Scott Casey MID SOUTH TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP The Fantastics © vs The North South Connection Andre the Giant vs The Executioner Wahoo McDaniel vs King Kong Bundy w/ Jimmy Hart Bruiser Brody & Magnum TA vs Tully Blanchard & Mystery Partner ThunderBolt Patterson & S.D. Jones vs Masked Superstar & Don Muraco w/ Paul Jones -Vince continues to put over all the big matches including King Kong Bundy taking on Wahoo McDaniel. He talks about this union between Bundy and the Executioner and puts it over as one of the most terrifying teams in all of wrestling. He says that this week on MSW we will see Bundy and the Executioner team up and they will take on The Junkyard Dog and Andre the Giant! Truly one of the biggest matches in the history of MSW television. We cut to the ring for Bundy and The Executioner in action… The Executioner & King Kong Bundy w/ Jimmy Hart vs El Bracero & Tom Zenk - A pretty good squash here as Zenk and Bracero have got some high flying skills but just nowhere near the power of Bundy and the Executioner. Jimmy Hart does a great job outside the ring putting Bundy over and Vince and Ross wonder if Hart will manage the Executioner down the line. In the end we see the Executioner pick up Zenk for a humungous body slam and then Bundy with a splash for the 1…2….3! The crowd is in awe of these two huge monsters and they will team up this week on MSW against the JYD and Andre the Giant in a match you can’t afford to miss! Plus Ric Flair will be in the building as we will be just days away from the Battle for New Orleans live from the Superdome! -
Southeastern Championship Wrestling - Event Centre 1984
LowBlowPodcast replied to Boon's topic in Promotions
Continued success with Southeastern. Well done on the secondary show having angles to go along with the contests. I would have liked to have seen the six man on your main card with the Bodies and Armstrongs as they has been a nice addition to your card. You have also transformed Tommy Rich into one of the premiere players in this world of wrestling and he continues to be showcased in a strong way. -
I don't mean this to be negative but as feedback, but you've got a LOT going on with your shows. I get lost trying to keep up with everything and the font changes and the stuff. I don't know if it is a formatting thing or what, but the presentation is throwing me for a loop. All that said, huge roster, big angles, and some serious shit going on. The ending segment shows just how crazy things can get in Memphis and it is true to form. Your top 10 is a wishlist for anyone, but wouldn't Idol be out of the top 10 and the others be ranked in order by which they could challenge him? I
-
The Picaso of the Project. Great poster to go along with the top notch talent and writing. Detroit is a serious hot bed right now with some of these top stars from around the country. The records continue to keep me hooked to see if it is going to be 50/50 for some guys or if some of the stars will jump out ahead and have cushion to take a loss here and there.
-
Perhaps some of the best promos in the project. We've all said it, but the Von Erichs and Dusty have taken over Florida and they are going to go to war with everyone in their path. I like to see the Briscoes in that almost secondary role and then you have the Sullivan factor. I don't see anyway that Dusty and Sullivan could be on the same card if they weren't at war with one another down here. Curt Hennig is the only missing piece of the puzzle and I'd like to see where he fits in the scheme of everything.

Mid South Wrestling is coming to you on its Fox Affiliates throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Action is coming to you tonight from the Irish McNeil Boy’s Club in Shreveport, Louisiana. Jim Ross: Welcome everyone to Mid South Wrestling! I am Jim Ross alongside Cowboy Bill Watts. Bill… there is no doubt that tonight, history is going to be made with the lineup we’ve got. Tonight we will see Hacksaw Duggan taking on Krusher Kruschev, Bobby Fulton taking on Dick Murdoch, and Ric Flair and Andre the Giant are here! Bill Watts: This is going to be one of those nights that no one will ever forget! Ross: Fans tonight we will share another big match signed for that Superdome card on February the 4th… wait just a moment… it is Tully Blanchard… what are you doing out here? Tully Blanchard: Let me make it perfectly clear to you and the rest of the world…. Magnum TA. You snot nosed punk! You don’t know what it means to be a champion. You took my chance at the NWA title away last week… and lemme tell you something son… you will regret what you’ve done! I am putting it on the line right now… at the Superdome… I want to see you in that ring… Ross: Wait a minute… wait a minute… Magnum TA: You ain’t gotta wait too long there Blanchard. If you want a fight, I will bring it right here… RIGHT NOW! Tully Blanchard: Look at me… dressed head to toe to the 10s jack. You couldn’t afford this outfit if you saved your money for a year boy! Magnum TA: It takes more than a nice suit to step in that ring Blanchard… anytime… anywhere! Tully Blanchard: How about this? At the Superdome… I am going to bring me a partner… I doubt there’d be anyone dumb enough to step into that ring with you… Wrestling II already has a match and I know you don’t have too many friends outside of that… Magnum TA: Funny you say that… I’ve got a buddy who just joined me tonight… he said he’d loved to step into that ring… -BRUISER BRODY WALKS OUT AND THE CROWD POPS! He and Magnum shake hands and then look at Tully who retreats! Blanchard better have something special up his sleeve… who is going to be his partner?!?! Ross and Watts put it over in a big way as we cut to the ring for King Kong Bundy in action! ThunderBolt Patterson vs King Kong Bundy w/ Jimmy Hart -An interesting opening matchup here. We see Patterson come out but then Bundy walks out with Jimmy Hart and he’s joined by Muraco, Masked Superstar, and Paul Jones. Ross and Watts talk about this not being a good thing. SD Jones comes out and joins his partner. Ross and Watts talk about a recent match with Bundy and Wahoo in Houston in which Rick Rude got involved and they wonder if he will tonight. In the match, we see Superstar and Muraco get involved slightly but it is Bundy with a huge Avalanche and then the 1…2….3 in around 7 minutes. He screams at the referee for the 4….5… but then we see SD Jones run into the ring and he attacks Bundy. We have a brawl here as Superstar and Muraco join the fight as all hell breaks loose. It looks to be a beat-down until Wahoo runs out with a strap. He fights off the group as Bundy is being held back! Wahoo and Bundy are heading for a showdown at the Superdome… but what about the others? *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Watts and Ross putting over the big opening segments we saw. They talk about a match that is being signed as we speak between S.D. Jones & ThunderBolt Patterson taking on Masked Superstar & Don Muraco! They talk about that match being added along with Tully Blanchard and his mystery partner taking on Bruiser Brody & Magnum TA! They said there will be a complete card revealed later on this evening. They put over the recent issues with Rick Rude and talk about his motives. We then cut to the ring for the next big contest! El Bracero & Jose Lothario vs Rick Rude & Superstar Graham -A nice little contest. These guys go about 8-minutes but the underlying factor is that Rude and Graham are not on the same page. We see the classic spot in which Superstar goes for the tag and Rude drops down gives him some sign language! Superstar can’t believe it as he gets up and turns around for Jose Lothario is there for a big superkick and the 1….2…3! Bracero and Lothario look good here. Rude then steps in the ring and he starts to jaw jack with Graham but then we see the whole story unfold as Jimmy Hart comes out with Bundy and they attack Graham! Rude then goes to work on him. Rude picks him up and then hits the Rude Awakening we all know (not the DDT)! Rude has his arm raised with Jimmy Hart… this is a union that has got trouble written all over it! Watts and Ross can’t believe it! *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Watts and Ross putting over Rude’s turn on Graham and his joining with Bundy and Jimmy Hart! They turn their attention to the tag team titles and the big showdown in the Superdome between Adonis/Murdoch and the Fantastics. They talk about a preview of the action right here tonight as we cut to the ring… Bobby Fulton vs Dick Murdoch -A fun match up with these two men working the crowd and giving the fans a taste of what they will bring to the Superdome. Ross and Watts really put over Murdoch’s ability to wrestle as a singles guy but Fulton may struggle and it appears to be that way. Murdoch controls the contest from the get go, but Fulton is able to get some offense and get the crowd going, but Murdoch is so damn good and he slows the pace down to where he wants it. We see Fulton get one more burst before Adonis comes down but that brings out Tommy Rogers. They is some jaw jacking outside the ring, but it is Murdoch who goes for the Brainbuster but Fulton with a knee to the head and he comes down with a roll up but Murdoch pushes through for the 1…2…3 at the 11 minute mark! The crowd isn’t happy as Murdoch and Adonis have struck. Will they strike again when the titles are on the line? -Watts and Ross put over the contest and then we see the JYD come down with Andre the Giant. The crowd erupts as Andre and the JYD put over the Superdome. They talk about the big contest between JYD and Dibiase and then the big one with Andre and the Executioner. We then see Ted Dibiase walk out with the Executioner. The crowd isn’t happy to see them as they approach JYD and Andre. They jaw jack and gripe for a moment before Andre tells them to meet him in the ring next week! The crowd pops as Dibiase can’t believe it… he says he will think about it… Ross and Watts put over Ric Flair being in the building when we come back! *COMMERCIAL* -MSW returns with Watts and Ross going over the show so far. They talk about next week and the contest with Andre and JYD possibly taking on the Executioner and Ted Dibiase if they accept. They tell the fans to tune in to Power Pro Wrestling this Sunday for an official announcement. They talk about the NWA World Title contest with Duggan taking on Ric Flair and how important it would be for Duggan to bring the NWA title to Mid South. They talk about him versus Krusher Kruschev tonight and how he says Duggan cheated. Let’s see what happens here tonight! MAIN EVENT Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Krusher Kruschev w/ Boris Zhukov -A hard hitting main event here with two huge bruisers. Boris is outside the ring and he is causing a shit storm. Duggan gets the USA chants going whenever he can but Krusher is all over him. He tosses him outside the ring and distracts the referee for Boris to get in his shots. The crowd is going wild right now but Duggan is trying to fight back the best he can. We get a commercial break right in the middle but when we return Duggan looks to be winding down but we see him build up in a big way. He is nailing Krusher with some huge rights and lefts. He goes to the ropes but Boris grabs his foot and Duggan pulls him up… Krusher runs for a clothesline and he nails Boris. Duggan leaps for a huge flying clothesline and the 1…..2….3!! Duggan with the win but here comes Boris! He is hammering down! Krusher gets up and even Duggan doesn’t have it in him at this point to fight off both men. They tie him up in the ropes and wait just a moment… -IT IS RIC FLAIR! THE NWA CHAMPION IS HERE! The Russians have tied Duggan in the rope and now it is Flair who is hammering away at Duggan and then he is wiping the title in Duggan’s face and just SCREAMING AT HIM! Ross and Watts are going nuts on commentary and then someone jumps out of the crowd! IT IS DOCTOR DEATH STEVE WILLIAMS! He jumps in the ring and backs off Flair and the Russians. Flair is holding the title up and Williams unties Duggan. Ross and Watts are putting this over in a big way. Duggan is helped up by Williams as Flair and the Russians are gloating… more on this next week… check out Power Pro this Sunday with action from Bruiser Brody and Magnum TA, Andre the Giant, Bundy and the Executioner. See you then! MID SOUTH PRESENTS THE BATTLE FOR NEW ORLEANS Saturday February 4th 1984 NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP LOSER LEAVES TOWN FOR ONE YEAR ONLY THE WINNER CAN BRING HIM BACK EARLY! I have updated the database and free agency pages. Please let me know if I need to fix anything. I do think with the recent happenings, perhaps we need a "waiver" page in order to bring people into our database who are not currently involved in the project. Thoughts?

- Big signings out of Mid South this week. Jim Ross was said to be in charge of talent relations with Bill Watts. Watts is said to do the major signings but Ross was part of the negotiations. His role has diminished over the last couple of weeks stemming from the Power Pro incident and Vince McMahon is said to be part of negotiations. Over the past week, Matt Borne, Adrian Street, and Miss Linda were all signed with Mid South through negotiations with Vince McMahon and Watts overseeing the agreements. Gino Hernandez has agreed to do a couple of dates for Watts but no major deal has been signed yet. - Mid South went on tour again this weekend, Jim Ross and Joel Watts were promoting both shows in Mississippi. They were blessed to get Matt Borne, Adrian Street, and Gino Hernandez (for one show) added to the bunch. They were said to have had good crowds and are "doing exactly what Bill Watts is looking for" when putting these shows together. - Still no word on the outcome of the Dibiase vs JYD contest on February 4th. The stipulation says that the loser must leave and only the winner can bring that person back. Both men could fill either role. - Watts is said to really be pulling out all the stops for the February 4th Superdome show. Bruiser Brody and Andre the Giant are said to be action. Ric Flair has been signed to defend the NWA World Title against Hacksaw Duggan. Expect more surprises as Watts is said be making a move towards closed circuit shows like Starrcade and he has been shopping some national television deals as his contract with Fox and MSW will be expiring in the next two months. - Could Mid South be coming to MSG? Watts and McMahon took a meeting with the directors of Madison Square Garden. No word on if these were just meetings or if Mid South could try to run in a market that is dying for wrestling right now.

1/23/1984 - Mid South Wrestling Live - Tupelo, Mississippi - Civic Center Tom Zenk defeated Israel Matia - Zenk is pretty green but a very good looking youngster. Tracey Smothers defeated Dominic DeNucci - Smothers is a pretty slimy heel right off the bat. He cut a promo right before the match and said Zenk was a goody too shoe pretty boy who couldn't fight to save his life. Zenk shrugged it off but the crowd had some heat. Steve Williams defeated Raul Castro - Dr. Death really looks good here. He has shrugged off any ring rust. Adrian Street w/ Miss Linda defeated Brady Boone - The fans were pretty turned off by Street's gimmick and he garnered some very good heat. The Maniac Matt Borne defeated Johnny Rodz - Borne is back in Mid South and he has got some goofy hair and was very "crazy" during the contest. Krusher Kruschev, Boris Zhukov, & The Russian Nightmare defeated SD Jones, ThunderBolt Patterson, & El Bracero - The Russian Nightmare looks humungous but he's very green. He was only in the contest for 2-3 minutes but did get the pinfall on Bracero with a clothesline that looked to take his head off! Jose Lothario defeated Rick Rude when Superstar Graham accidentally hit Rude when aiming for Lothario 1/24/1984 - Mid South Wrestling Live - Meridian, Mississippi - Civic Center Tom Zenk defeated Tracey Smothers via DQ when Smothers hit Zenk with a steel chair Exotic Adrian Strett w/ Miss Linda defeated Dominic DeNucci Dr. Death Steve Williams defeated Brady Boone The Maniac Matt Borne defeated Omar Atlas Krusher Kruschev, Boris Zhukov, & The Russian Nightmare defeated Los Conquistadors & S.D. I like the first output for the new MACW. Good continuation and write ups. I think you've got a good formula and this is a lot of detail for just a house show. You may be able to streamline some of it and add that effort into television but we'll see how it all plays out. -
When Rain gets on he can make the call on what he wants to do with him. I am sure when Goc quit and tried to erase all the roster data, some little pieces got lost, I think we've got 98% of it fixed from his issues though, so if Sword is the only loss, we're doing alright.
-
He's one we could look to add. Since I wasn't around for the initial draft, what was the decision on Bruno??
-
Let me know if you have questions sony.
-
Didn't you just trade him to macw?
-
Brady Boone, Dominic Denucci, Johnny Rodz, and Omar Atlas all sign for the Mid South as jobbers
-
Yep, let's go with it... If you want to do this... You are categorizing 6 people as jobbers on your roster.... they will be in the 35 and 36 spots on your roster. 3 people per spot.

Vince then puts over the Fantastics and their big contest with Murdoch and Adonis in the Superdome as we see them in action… The Fantastics defeated The Shadows -A nice showcase for The Fantastics as they go move for move with the Shadows. It is a fun little contest with Fulton and Rogers showing some tag team excellence as Ross and McMahon say they will be tough to beat when push comes to shove. The Shadows do alright but the Fantastics are able to finish it off with a Rocket Launcher for the 1…2…3!! Fulton and Rogers show the titles to the fans. They have got a showdown in the Superdome with Adonis and Murdoch… will they be able to keep the gold? *COMMERCIAL* -Power Pro is back and Vince is putting over the battle royal we are about to see.
