The WWF has decided to drop out of the draft. Kevin is up
-
I think this is on Kevin right now... Patera being the outlier while the rest can be good to go. If he wants him available now, just throw me a list of names, again, doesn't have to be anything big and I will pick one and he can go to UWF and be active. If he doesn't want him to be active, he is going to sit on the WWF roster until he is. Everyone else should be fine to go with the rule change.
-
His first match back is in April of 87. I have no problem holding him until then or if Kevin wasn't to feel better throw me a list of guys you'd move for him... doesn't have to be major and he can have him for a low price and be available right now. Whatever he sees fit.
-
I understand that point of view but we have to try and encourage the organic nature of the game and rules as we move forward. We have to increase creativity and not limit it. With a majority of people agreeing to changes it encourages that growth.
-
1st pick in the 2nd round will be on the block for another 30 or so minutes if there's any interest.
-
So I guess Ken Patera gets early parole on January 1st thanks to overcrowding... that changes some things. 1st pick in the 2nd round is on the block right now given these changes... let me know if you're interested... Rain I sent you a PM.
-
I see Schultz working (quite sparingly) to 1989. I say he is yours to use until that time as you see fit. I agree with career enders like Magnum. Hiatus and prison and movies and such are thrown out and can be utilized by the owner of the talent. Death is death. Retirement should be utilized as in the "year" they retire... so for instance Schultz wrestled one match in 1989 according to cage match... imo he is useable until that time.
-
I think the major question out there is this... Death is death and we keep that... Other issues like prison, Dave Schultz beating up dudes, hiatus from working... do we want to throw those out? Some instances I can think of are John Studd in late 86 going away for a while, Piper leaving after Mania 3. I am sure there are others but I am willing to throw these things aside and let us have more of a free reign on individuals outside of if they die.

Kevin is back up
-
I guess after rereading what you posted the major reason is that the guys who initially wrote all the rules for this before we changed things kind of set that as one of the parameters.
-
I think it's Up For Debate and something that could be definitely changed. I would love to have an alternate reality where Gino Hernandez doesn't die in 3 months. That's kind of why I picked up at area just to hold on to him that when he got out of prison and I could utilize him. I think that if we have enough people that agree to maybe change the instances outside of death for inactive, I'd be cool with doing that.
-
He has a look for sure and some skills. I looked back at the NCAA wrestling tournaments from this time and he and his brother didn't compete very well... Dr. Death though did some serious work.

NWA Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling Dec. 85

I really like the format with the discussion from Tony and the wrestlers throughout. This is easy to read and easy to follow. You will have a lot of moving pieces with your roster over the next couple of weeks but Starrcade will be something to behold. -
Pick has been made and the ball is rolling. Slept in till 8 today fellas...sorry for the tardiness
-
The big booty daddy...in 12 years Scott Steiner comes to the WWF. Kevin is up
-
Draft is continuous then. I'm go make the first pick
-
Draft thread is good to go... One idea to think of... I have 4 rounds... but would anyone have interest to keep the draft going as much as someone would like? For example... if a person would to want this option they would more than likely pick last in the 1987 draft... but the reward would be to re-pick your roster for the most part from all of the options available. Now the kicker would be that you can't use them until January 1st... but come that date... all the individuals you drafted would be yours and then you would just need to make your cap of 50. This would be relinquishing other wrestlers on your roster but really shaking things up and allowing individuals to pick from what we have so we don't have the free agent hassles after. What do you guys think?

NWA World Class Championship Wrestling December 1985

I continue to enjoy the use of Sting here and how it mirrored what he was like at this stage in his career IRL. It is good to put a guy like him with others to help move things along. I am also happy to see John Studd utilized in a big way here... he is a talent and a name and deserves to be a top dog. -
I know there's going to be a lot of movement... please keep track of your rosters and come January 1st, send me the most up to date lists after the draft.
-
Kevin, I think we've have all said we don't want you to quit. I have sent you a PM on the topic and said it on here. I would discourage any kind of cleaning house trades as it is counter productive to the overall movement of the project. I think that this draft has been a major issue from the get go with all those involved to be drafted and so on... the sooner it is finished the sooner we can get back to business. I don't even want to wait till Sunday to put this thing in the rearview mirror but will so we can all move forward...
-
I am good to go when others are... just chime in here if you're ready.

At this point here is the draft order... 1986 Fresh Face Draft WWF - Low Blow USWA - Kevin Lutte - Edgar AWA - Rain World Class - Gene WWC - Dawho5 MACW - Spaldoni Round 1 WWF - Low Blow USWA - Kevin Lutte - Edgar - TRADED TO USWA AWA - Rain World Class - Gene - TRADED TO USWA WWC - Dawho5 MACW - Spaldoni - TRADED TO USWA Round 2 WWF - Low Blow USWA - Kevin Lutte - Edgar AWA - Rain World Class - Gene - TRADED TO AWA WWC - Dawho5 MACW - Spaldoni - TRADED TO USWA Round 3 WWF - Low Blow USWA - Kevin Lutte - Edgar AWA - Rain World Class - Gene WWC - Dawho5 MACW - Spaldoni Round 4 WWF - Low Blow USWA - Kevin Lutte - Edgar AWA - Rain World Class - Gene WWC - Dawho5 MACW - Spaldoni If any changes happen over the weekend I will do work and put it together. We will start the draft on Monday morning... if there is a call to start it earlier, we can do so as to get it done. We can prolly do a 12 hour cap between picks... shouldn't be that bad and we should finish within a couple of days. Remember the elimination rules of the draft... Once you "quit" the draft, the order by which everyone quits designates the order for the next years draft... but you must quit on your draft pick. (i.e. Someone with a 4th round pick only cannot just quit at the beginning and get first pick in the next draft) One thing to remember... rookies drafted are not available on your roster until January 1st. The freelancers will finish their freelance dates and then be fully yours on January 1st. Any questions, let me know.

Rick Rude comes out and is trying to taunt Windham the entire time. Brutus Beefcake comes out as he has been having a tough time with Honky and the Hart family as of late to try and even the odds and before too long this one breaks loose. We get a big two on two battle in the ring before Bobby Heenan is shown walking to the ring with KING KONG BUNDY! Bundy comes in and he hammers Windham from behind. Here comes Greg Valentine to help and it is 4 on 2 with Brutus and Windham getting beaten down! The crowd is white hot for the return of Bundy and now it looks like the Heenan Family is stronger than ever with Bundy, Rude, & Gino! SNME REPORT: MAIN EVENT WWF CHAMPIONSHIP Hulk Hogan © vs Gino Hernandez w/ Bobby Heenan WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Demolition vs The Fabulous Ones © w/ Jimmy Hart Barry Windham vs Ravishing Rick Rude w/ Bobby Heenan Tito Santana’s Team vs Randy Savage’s Team in a 5 on 5 special challenge Gino Hernandez: I can only laugh when it comes to SNME and the possibility of you walking out with the WWF Championship Hogan. I will go up front and let it be known that Dibiase did send some money my way to put you out… and it was enough to buy a new Corvette. Well I was riding in that the other night and I got to thinking about how nice it would be to have that title around my waist. Now I have told Bobby Heenan… Gino Hernandez is in business for himself at this point. I am going to put everything on the Handsome Half-Breed and in this game of Roulette it is you Hogan who is going to roll SNAKE EYES! Hulk Hogan: I guess a lot of people are already tuned in and turned up to this match Hernandez and I can’t help but wonder just what you could possibly do to try and put me down. You see I have been in there with the biggest and the baddest but you amigo are something different. I have looked over everything and know that you will go low to get the W but brother… don’t tempt me to go low too. I will dig down and do whatever it takes to keep this WWF Championship. On NBC and SNME… I am coming for you brother. I am not the hunted but I am the HUNTER and you are the biggest game and whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania strikes on you! WWF Presents: Superstars of Wrestling Hosted By: Vince McMahon & Jesse ‘ The Body’ Ventura Matches from: St. Louis, MO – Kiel Auditorium The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff w/ Freddie Blassie defeated John Shaw & Zion Felts Dino Bravo defeated Mike Micheals Jim Powers & Paul Roma defeated Ned Fredricks & Bobby Brown Ted Dibiase w/ Big Bossman defeated Jack Morris MAIN EVENT Barry Windham vs The Honky Tonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart -A great main event here for Challenge but ends up in kind of a cluster. Rick Rude comes out and is trying to taunt Windham the entire time. Brutus Beefcake comes out as he has been having a tough time with Honky and the Hart family as of late to try and even the odds and before too long this one breaks loose. The crowd is white hot for the return of Bundy and now it looks like the Heenan Family is stronger than ever with Bundy, Rude, & Gino! The Body Shop w/ Tito Santana & Randy Savage -Jesse starts by putting over last week’s picks and talking about the size of the One Man Gang and Andre the Giant but both men have to pick something that will help them survive over the long haul if one of these men get hurt… Tito Santana: You see Randy Savage… I am working with my partner to pick the best team and we believe we’ve done that. You see we want all the way to the Pacific Northwest and we are welcoming Billy Jack Haynes to the team! ARRRIBA! Randy Savage: For being a good competitor in the ring you are just a very unwise individual Tito Santana… especially to take the advice of Andre the Giant. We know he is big but that doesn’t mean he’s smart. You see… this Intercontinental Championship has been around my waist for almost one year now and brother it isn’t going anywhere. That’s because I have got the brains and I have got the brute and brother I have got the brawn with my next pick… he is returning to the WWF with his manager Mr. Fuji… the Magnificent Don Muraco! -Jesse gives Savage the edge here and puts over how Muraco could beat Billy Jack with his eyes closed and also talks about the help that Mr. Fuji will bring to the team! Next week these two will pick the final two team members… will there be some new talent that could shift the tide!?!?
