That Luchasaurus/Jungle Boy combo backdrop-power bomb thing was really cool, as was Dark Order's Gori Special-cutter thing.

My God it's great to see Aja Kong.

That was some eye-rolling shit. What a dork. Otherwise the six-man was perfectly fine but inconsequential, like the semi-random six-mans that kill time on Raw most weeks.
-
Now we're expecting *Vince McMahon* not to be petty?

Outside of a local ad or two during Raw the last few weeks, local promotion was virtually nil. They were clearly counting on fly-ins but Omega and the Bucks were clearly drawing those. They announced a three-show tour last night of the East Coast - Boston (well, Lowell), the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC, and 2300 Arena in Philly. So this failure has clearly scaled down their expectations.

A non-wrestling fan friend of mine got free tickets through his work, so I ended up going. Good card, and I had a great time. Crowd was great all night, good reactions to every match and only a few of the self-aware chants that litter smark-heavy US crowds. How did the crowd look on TV? There were huge empty spots in the corners of the arena that showed up on the camera they were showing in the building. Merch tables were packed all night - four or five lines 10+ deep every time I walked by. Biggest reactions live were for KENTA and Okada. And I'm glad I got to see Liger in-person once.

WWE TV 7/1 - 7/7 The Return of the Return of Heyman and Bischoff

Loved the AJ heel turn - he's been stale for a while now - but man that beat down cried out for some of Ricochet's fellow babyfaces to run to the ring to break it up. Maybe all those people who hugged him after he won the title could have done it? -

I don't know if the idea of a set explosion and "stopping" the show is specifically a Heyman thing but Corey dropping a "holy shit" before the announcer mics cut out does sorta point in that direction. -
Meanwhile, Renee and Penelope Ford are in the back, wonder what kind of dumbasses they're mixed up with...

I've seen some pretty cool Laredo Kid GIFs, so this should be fun, provided the Bucks and Omega's irony doesn't go over my head.
-
I liked the time limit draw. They've said they want more of a "real sports" vibe, so doing in in a pretty high-profile match is a good thing for establishing it. Having said that, let's not do any more chairshots to the head.

Between that and the Ibushi suplex a few weeks ago, I think we've seen all the apron spots I ever need to see.

Nothing there was mind-blowing but it didn't have to be. Another perfectly fine match.

I'm a 90210 and specifically a Dylan McKay stan, so I'm quite interested to see Jungle Boy.

JR was fine during CIMA-Daniels but he seemed a bit out of his element during that one. And to his/the show's credit he took a step back and let Excalibur and not-Excalibur do most of the work.
-
Coincidentally, I've been watching the 1999 yearbook and there's some Crazy MAX stuff in there. He's a little thicker and a bit slower, but props to CIMA for not aging all that much in 20 years. Excalibur is really good.

I guess this is supposed to be for the game tournament people, but that's why you have dark matches.
-
I don't know, man. Right now he's making Shane look like Terry Funk.

Promoter of "CEO Gaming", which is running Fyter Fest.
-
This librarian thing is brutally bad. A throwback to mid-90s WWF occupation-based gimmicks without the nostalgia making it bearable. And the match isn't much better.

If this "Executive Director" thing is a shoot position and not another storyline authority figure, this seems like the big reason to bring in Bischoff.
