  1. Is Shanky still employed? I've not heard mention of him in forever.
  2. I can't see Vince's moustache without thinking of Bobby Peru from Wild At Heart.
  3. People have rightly pointed out that Hit Row desperately miss Swerve in WWE, but the attempts at giving him his own heel stables in AEW have shown just how much they also suited his presentation too.
  4. Jimmy and Jey Uso I mean, we've got both Nasty Boys listed, but not arguably the best tag team in WWF/E history. To survive over 13yrs in a company that is notoriously not a tag team territory, never breaking up, constantly staying fresh to the point that they're arguably the most over they've ever been, is an incredible achievement. Work superbly as a face team or a heel team, a ton of great matches, and there's still potential for either to have a solo run if needed. Jey has already had a well-received main event slot against Roman Reigns, he could well get there again. There are other nominees who are arguably mainly tag guys, but the Usos are better than most, if not all of them. MATCHES vs The Wyatt Family (Money In The Bank 2014) vs The New Day (Hell In A Cell 2017) vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn (Wrestlemania 2023)
  5. Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford have posted a video this weekend, addressing their absence from AEW last year. Basically Ford got pregnant but unfortunately miscarried. It's obviously a bit of a tough watch, though it paints TK in a lovely light when they say how happy he was for them when they told him about the pregnancy in the first place, but they say they've decided to share the story to help others who might be going through the same thing. I can't begin to imagine what they've gone through.
  6. I think it's a tricky one to balance, because I'm assuming they don't have plans to sign Matthews, so having an unknown (to most people) wrestler have a decent length match against your dominant champion, then never be seen again, would make no sense. At the same time, they'd made a bit of a big deal about who the mystery challenger would be, and Jade could probably do with working a longer match against someone as experienced as Matthews just to help with her evolution.
  7. I've seen rumours of Damage CTRL vs Becky/Lita/Trish(?)
  8. Conversely, the women's Rumble at one point had a lot of entrants with colourful hair and neon green ring attire.
  9. According to Rovert on Twitter, Lacey already knew the fan beforehand and had done a podcast with him, which would make this a nice little act that makes him part of the show. Hopefully that's the case. KO gave him his shirt after the show went off air, so worst case scenario he's ended the night with a nice moment.
  10. Pretty sure I had Barry top 30 last time, and that was almost entirely due to his late 80s/early 90s peak, but last night I watched a West Texas Rednecks vs Rey/Eddie/Kidman match from a random Thunder, and Barry still looked great in that. He offense all looked great (all six men had great offence, made me want to do a WTR deep dive), but he also made his opponents look great too. Him bumping from a Rey hurracanrana looked really good, not awkward like you sometimes get from a big man having to sell for a much smaller opponent. Going to have to check out some late period Windham, see if this was an anomaly.
  11. Cameron Grimes and the OC vs Joe Gacy and Grizzled Young Veterans sounds like someone posting the AI booking from a TEW game.
  12. I can understand their use of Top Dolla at the moment. He's a strong personality and has a few neat power spots he can do, so he's mainly being used as a hot tag guy so the more talented guy can carry the match. Adonis feels like the guy with more long term potential, guy is pretty good, but I can also see a decent heel run for Top Dolla once he's more seasoned, purely on promos.
  13. Between Cole namedropping Orig Williams at the start of the show, and that incredible Sheamus/Gunther match, I'm already a happy boy
  14. Where IS Samoa Joe, by the way? He's the ROH TV champion, and he's getting less screen time than Lethal, who he beat on PPV. Is he injured or just on the sidelines?
  15. Given HHH's recent tendancy to rehire people previously canned, I'd like to see Tegan Nox return at Cardiff. I know she recently said she's not been able to wrestle elsewhere due to visa issues, so I don't know if that could affect a comeback. Alternatively, rehire Mason Ryan.
  16. Heck, Rampage is where CM Punk made his big return to wrestling, which is definitely not where they'd have that happen now. If you look at the ratings graphs that Brandon Thurston tweets out every week, there's a hilariously big spike in the Rampage rating for one week last year before settling down to be the lowest show of the big two companies
  17. Interesting choice to bring in someone fired by the opposition for apparently failing a drugs test. Its not like Two Dimes is this big name or super worker where it's worth the gamble.
  18. It does feel like Dark Order is slowly being phased out with Grayson and Angels going, and Cabana being moved to RoH. I hope they do something with Silver & Reynolds as a team post DO, feels like they could have been featured a bit more in the tag mix. Anna Jay will be fine and Preston Vance can be easily repackaged, not sure where it would leave Uno though.
  19. Nia tweeted yesterday that she won't be a part of this :-D I'm looking forward to this odd Frankenstein's monster of a show. SDS vs Dorado will be good at least, and I'm curious about a No Way Jose vs Jody Fleisch match.
  20. Busick would be a great replacement, not so much in terms of fan reaction, but he'd have a great match with ZSJ and fits the Blackpool Combat Club dynamic perfectly. Same with Thatcher TBH. Another reason I don't think it's Cesaro is that he'd be debuting in the faction, but would already be placed behind Danielson and Moxley, whereas you'd think he'd be a bigger deal if he debuted in AEW.
  21. It's been rumoured that Cesaro is going to be Max Dupri's first client on Smackdown, so if that were true you'd think he'll be appearing this Friday to shut down the Forbidden Door rumours. Maybe ZSJ will face Karrion Kross...
  22. It is kinda hilarious that the Jarrett/Effy storyline arc went: Jarrett comes out of retirement to attack Effy, repeatedly beats him up, beats him cleanly in their only match, then goes back into retirement with a proper office job. Really makes one of GCW's homegrown stars look bad there.
  23. Sterling is perfect as an undercard manager. He's a very good speaker, he's a trained wrestler so he can bump and take heat, but he's not physically impressive enough to outshine his clients. He should be given an undercard tag team like Bear Country to give him a little stable with Nese.
  24. At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if Jeff Jarrett ends up in charge of creative by year end. Never bet against him.
  25. Heel Balor was a breath of fresh air in NXT, and having a bit more edge meant his offence had a bit more snap to it too. He's never been a main roster heel before, so this is a positive change for him. Kayfabe, the only reason they won the night before was Rhea stopping Balor hitting the Coup de Grace on Edge, so you can frame it that he's seen as a liability who needed removing.
