  1. The beat down segment at the beginning of the match was very good. The intensity dropped when the face team got on offense. Fun finishing sequence. Decent match but felt long.
  2. Enjoyed the intensity in this match. AKIRA looked great and when Kanemoto was on offense he looked good to. The leg selling being dropped at the end hurts the finish.
  3. Outstanding performance by Vader and Williams. They end this match looking unbeatable. A large portion of the match was Vader and Williams in control and it never got stale. Akiyama is such a good seller. The finishing stretch had big nearfalls and the actual finish was perfect for the match structure. By far the best tag of the year and the best men's match in Japan so far. Great match.
  4. It might just be the clipping but this looked very good. The briefcase spot reminded me of Tajiri sliding the chair across the table to try to hit Super Crazy in the Mexican Death Match. I'm interested to see how Osaka Pro's trios matches compare to Toryumon.
  5. Fantastic garbage match. From the opening bell this was wild and kept escalating. KAORU bumped huge and had great offense. The arm work around the broken table was unique. Great finish too.
  6. Slow paced but really fun match. The obvious constraint of Hansen forced them to build a smart and simple match. By the finishing stretch they built to a few good nearfalls. I have a ton of time for this type of All Japan. No excess just simple hard work wrestling.
  7. Outside of the fact that most of the match felt like it was in slow motion this was entertaining. Mascaras looked more mobile than I would have expected.
  8. This was disappointing. The match could never get a coherent run going which kept the crowd from heating up. They continued the Hashimoto mega-push here which is working well.
  9. Fun match. Toyota stood out when she was offense. Everything she hits looks great and she has tons of variety. The vet vs young style six man tag is a favorite match style of mine. From the first set of matches it seems that AJW is having a problem with their matches being bloated. There is plenty of good stuff it is just buried in each match. I totally agree with the thought that there could be a classic buried in this stuff.
  10. The final third of this match was fun. They had trouble building around the match structure due to poor selling from Hyuga and not enough offense from Maekawa. Once they started going into the false finishes they did great. There was a bunch of potential shown by these two.
  11. The actual work in the ring was fun, the problem was how bloated the brawling through the crowd made the match feel. Inside the ring was a fast paced and well worked match with a few good near falls. Not as good as the LCO match from January.
  12. Basic junior tag match. Very similar to what NJPW was doing in opening matches in their junior division. Looking forward to seeing how Toryumon differentiates themselves over time.
  13. This looks awesome from the small amount shown. I can't imagine how much great wrestling was clipped out of just these CMLL matches so far. Still great to see what exists.
  14. There was some fun stuff here. Marvin has impressive dives and the built around some interesting sequences. Finish looked good too.
  15. This is an amazing tv match. The atmosphere is remarkable, what struck even more than the pops all the faces got was how much genuine heat Triple H got. The structure was the classic babyfaces run through the heels. Everybody fit in and was on. My favorite segment was The Rock hitting the heel team with spinebusters. The only complaint is the finish seems mis-timed. If there is another WWE tv match that comes even close to this I would be impressed.
  16. Flat match. Pretty basic match structure that lacked the pace or interesting innovation needed. When Toryumon goes down this road it might be a problem due to selling.
  17. This was ok but Sasaki did a great job with a developing Frye. There is a real effort level in all NJPW matches. Frye is really green here especially bumping, a few times he landed on his arm doing basic back bumps. I loved the clothesline to the knee on the apron spot Sasaki did in the finishing sequence.
  18. Really fun heavyweight sprint. Each team is out there throwing bombs and keeping it moving. The Koshinaka/Tenryu team has been awesome in the two matches so far. Outside of the Dome tag this is my favorite Japanese tag match so far. NJPW is producing some very good heavyweight wrestling.
  19. I liked this. Felt like a very standard NJPW tag match on tv. The action was nicely paced and the structure was simple. Hashimoto looked strong again.
  20. Not as good as the match in January but still good. The missing element to me was the arena crowd made the action feel more intense. These two had fantastic chemistry and Tajiri had a big league feel. Finish was awesome.
  21. When Sasaki was in this was a really fun tag. Kenzo Suzuki didn't have the selling or the fire to carry the match structure. I wonder how good this would have been with a different young wrestler because Tenryu and Koshinaka brought it.
  22. There is something about this and the Dome show squash that didn't click with me. Liger brings intensity and has a ton offfense here. They even do a nice hope segment with Tanaka. Not badly executed but lacked for me.
  23. Pretty basic opening match. I was impressed with Kanemoto whenever he was in. He has such a presence.
  24. Standard junior tag. I thought Dr Wagner Jr. looked better here than in the first match of the month. Loads of offense from both teams. A little sloppy especially Taikawa.
  25. Fun fast paced tv match. The structure made Benoit look good in his debut match. Getting the visual tap out made up for eating the pin. I'm interested to watch how these HHH TV main events hold up because he looked decent here. When he is in control of the match he is very average but he is a good bumper and seller.
