Christian has fans. I don’t see why it would ‘die in the ratings’. I don’t expect it to be the greatest thing ever, but I’m sure it will be an ok match that shouldn’t cause anyone to change the channel.

I miss Saturday Night Wrestling. Watching the few episodes they have up on Peacock of WCW Saturday Night. The 1992 opening reminds me of the beginning of SNL. Glad to hear Jesse Ventura commentating. Had WWE already restored all of his commentary on the network or is this something new to Peacock?

I wonder if a wrestler being shelved for the remainder of their contract could go somewhere else and work under a mask until the contract was over in this day and age. Make it a real life Yellow Dog, Midnight Rider, Mr. America situation. I’d honestly love to see it.

Blocking him from working with AEW anymore?

Hopefully either apologize and move on or work it into the storyline. I’d rather see it worked into the storyline but only if they can make it make sense. If they can’t come up with a good reason that doesn’t make everyone involved look like crap then apologize and move on.

I’ve been trying to process how I feel about last night and all I can come away with is disappointed. Christian was probably the best b-tier person they could have signed, after the A-list of Punk, Brock, and Cena were pipe dreams. I like Christian, and I think he’ll be a good person to have around. I hope he’s healthy. But for the level that they teased it I’m disappointed. Then that main event. Sigh. It was good up until the ending. There’s no good way to explain it away. Either they thought that was good enough, in storyline Omega sucked at building the thing, he was playing mind games/pulling a Jokey Smurf, or Omega is a chickenshit and wanted to make sure he didn’t get hurt himself if the thing went off so he half assed it. I probably like the last option the best but chickenshit heel is not really Omega’s character. I’m sure he can pull it off, but will he? The sad thing to me is that these were the two biggest things hyping the PPV and both fell flat in the grand scheme of things. Had it been an explosion worthy of the hype, that ending with Kingston would have been great. I’m sure they’ll salvage it. I’ve seen worse. But it’s a low point for AEW for sure.

I had no idea who Volk Han was until his name was lighting up the threads here. But my pro wrestling fandom is better off for it now.

For a little bit I considered the open ladder match spot and the new signing could be one and the same and thought about Rob Van Dam.

Sucks. Growing up in the 80’s in Virginia Crockett was every bit as big and important here as WWF was. They basically were the NWA. Flair, the Horsemen, Dusty, Boogie Woogie Man, the Rock n Roll Express, the Midnight Express, the Road Warriors, that was my childhood.

I hope AEW can make good on that, and it’s not anticlimactic.

October 2001. Looks like they only had it for a week. Can’t blame you for not remembering, I didn’t either.

I thought it was fun. Bad camerawork missing the spear. Putting the two greenest people on the same team might not have been the best idea. But the finish was good.

Well, I was wrong. They pulled the trigger. I’m glad they did it, but I don’t much care much for how they did it.

I’d say a Lashley title win gets drawn out until Fastlane at least.
