  1. Yeah, blood runs cold was going to be my suggestion.
  2. Cant see this happening. Fox gives the 10pm hour to local affiliates for news and other programming. Unless they are expanding to 3 hours in prime time every night I dont think this is accurate.
  3. I never said Braun shouldn't be champion. I absolutely think they should put the belt on him. My concern is with him as a long-term champion. With his monster aura, it's more difficult to book feuds for him without making him look to vulnerable. Sure, you could do an injury angle or a gang-style beatdown, but how long can that go on? You also mentioned Austin and Hogan. Austin and Hogan had the benefit of not being on TV every single week. Overexposure is the name of the game in WWE unless you're Brock Lesnar. So unless they're going to take him off TV for a few weeks here and there (which I don't foresee them doing) he's going to be there every single episode. I don't trust WWE to be that creative in how they book Braun for that long without making him wrestle matches almost every week. And sure, A.J. is better than Seth. But A.J. is also on Smackdown. He's been the anchor of the show for two years and they don't usually move people from brand to brand unless it's during the shakeup. Even come this time next year, I could easily see them keeping A.J. on Smackdown unless they make Bryan the star. So they have to work with what they have now on Raw. And Lashley strikes me as someone who's a much better heel than a face. Unless he was injured, Austin was on tv every single week.
  4. Cena tapped out Triple H at Wrestlemania 22, who was the closest thing to "previous Ace" at the time. To me, WWE ace goes Hogan, Austin, Cena ???. Ace has never been Lineal in WWE based on the history.WWEs booking has never made sense in that department. to me. Would Bret have been considered the ace if Hogan would have stuck around and put him over?
  5. If I think of it more as a jumping punch to the neck/throat, its not so bad. But as a clothesline yeah its rough.
  6. Ryan Ward? That's the one. Thanks. Whatever happened to him..? Come to think of it, I have no idea. Does anybody know? We still don't. I think Ward got moved over to work on Raw last year.
  7. Agreed. There's a huge difference of scale between naming a battle Royal after Moolah or (worse) paying tribute to Jimmy Snuka and taking a huge amount of money and deliver an actual propaganga show for an awful regime (that has largely been responsible for the ideology behind current international terrorism). I said it before, in a way I felt like it was 1936 and I was watching the Berlin Olympics… "Beautiful Jedda, progressive city, such an honor to be there…" (vomit) So, no, I won't be batting an eye at Raw, I won't watch Backlash, I'll probably miss Johnny Gargano next MOTYC. It's not even a matter of doing a grandstand moral demonstration. I'm not even an active customer of the company (haven't been in decades now). It's just that I feel rather disgusted by this showcase and there's already too much pro-wrestling out there if I want to binge watch I can have orgies of whatever I want without having to even touch current WWE (which in essence, I don't care for anyway, I like the regular really god matches, but the product is otherwise terrible). I recently got back into watching 00's NOAH. Some really great stuff. NOAH was a cool company. Which was in bed with yakuzas really but… I mean… Not that bad... Ok fuck this world already. At least the Berlin Olympics had Jesse Owens there to show Germany and the world that the Nazi's and the garbage they were spouting was a load of crap. I've been trying to watch parts of the show in my free time, just cherry picking what little I was interested in, but it's so hard to separate the wrestling from everything else when it's shoved right there in your face.
  8. Around when Earl showed up, albeit while being billed as Dave.I wonder if that was a Vince thing, along the lines of outside of the angle he didn't want two referees that looked alike? Edit: according to wiki he refereed the Savage Hogan main event at Wrestlemania V and retired after knee replacement surgery, then became a road agent.
  9. Was that before or after Heenan's neck issues?
  10. I caught the 2nd episode with Muhammad Hassan. I do really like the concept. I did lose interest as it went on, and I think part of that is due to the hosts. Hopefully they grow into it. Going to try to catch up on it now that I'm on the road more for work.
  11. Caught the Wrestlemania 34 episode, it was ok. Kind of sad that Austin didn't have anything to do with it after the last time they were in New Orleans and talking about wanting to address the fans. Looking back at past episodes, there are a ton I've missed that sound good. Shane Douglas is always a good listen when he is on as a guest with someone, Dr. D David Shultz sounds great, James Ellsworth, DDP, Edge and Christian, Brutus Beefcake of all people, and Elias are the ones I've got downloaded from this year so far.
  12. No. Damn, now that's interesting. Wonder if they play that up any on tv if Brock does drop the belt?
  13. To be Ze Man, you have to beat Ze Man - German Ric Flair
  14. I was watching this a week or so ago. I did not remember Austin having a knee brace that early in his career. By the way: how did the Z-Man name got by S&P? His name was Tom Zenk, so Z-Man wasn't much of a stretch. Yes, say it a certain way and it can sound like 'Seaman'. Not a big enough deal for S&P to bother with if you have to go that far for the joke.
  15. The Boogie Woogie Man feud did go on forever, but it was entertaining. There were a never ending parade of guys Paul Jones brought into his Army to face Valiant.
  16. Man, I remember those intermissions. I still have my copy of Summerslam '90 I taped on vhs somewhere.
  17. I don't know if it's that as much as "Holy shit, we have to fill this match with 50 people - let's get anyone and everyone even remotely recognizable into this thing." Right. Lol More thinking out loud than anything else, and trying to understand the decision making process. I guess if the wrestlers that have matches besides the Rumble pull double duty, plus if they bring some NXT guys along too, they probably have 50 men in the company.
  18. Sounds like they are going for some attitude era nostalgia in this though. Wonder how many fans there may be in Saudi Arabia that would remember? Why? Goldust hasn't been a gay gimmick in 20 years. At this point, he's just another colorful guy with facepaint - no different from Demon Balor in that respect. I wonder if hope Finn Balor shows up wearing his rainbow getup.
  19. You wonder why... Which makes it even more hilarious if Roman gets the belt there. I was wondering about that too, if Roman wins it's going to be majorly downplayed. I'm surprised Goldust is allowed to be in it. At this point it doesn't look like WWE knows what the winner is going to get either.
  20. One track on Be A Man was supposedly lifted by Justin Timberlake though.
  21. Yep, Hulkster in Heaven is on there. American Made, Hulk's WCW theme before the NWO, is on there too. I always thought some American company should use that for a commercial jingle.
  22. Yes, I was one of the 500. lol It was cheap and I was curious. My friends and I had a pretty good laugh at the time, but that's about it. There wasn't anything on there I would call good. Several of the tracks were Macho Man doing his best Lil Jon impression. I listened to a couple of songs last night and my opinion is pretty much still the same.
  23. Working on cleaning up my office, found some old cassettes (yes, I'm old) of Hulk Hogan: Hulk Rules and WCW Mayhem: The Music. I have Macho Man's Be A Man CD and the WWE Anthology three disk set. What have you guys got?
  24. Wait, what ? I think this is what he is referring to. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/sport/5092137/wwe-divas-sasha-banks-alexa-bliss/amp/
  25. It's all about the money. Toby Keith did 'Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue' after 9-11 then went and performed a concert over there last year. Nothing else matters if the payday is big enough. Just make the prize a big pot of Saudi money and leave it at that.
