Nothing like a fast paced 10 minute tag match to kick things off. Rasta's voodoo is no joke. I get the feeling, the Armstrongs and Guerreros are heading into a heated feud. Props to Lancaster, he's got guts, nothing to be ashamed of here. Looks like the Mercenaries have a strong alliance to deal with. OMG! After reading this segment, I realized how much I missed Alberto in our game. Pure gold! Cannonball finally blows off this entertaining feud with a triumphant victory. DJ's night ends on a high note. I agree with LST, father doesn't always know best and Dory proved that. Great job, fun card! -
Future Shock! Great way to open the show by featuring the exciting new stars. YES! Power and Glory get some gold. I loooooooooove them Damn! I think Liger and Owen might've stolen the show Hard act to follow, but Garvin and Martel did a top notch job. Road Warriors get the huge pop but those darn NWA/WCW rules put a damper on the special moment Sting gets the flash pin but I know Sherri and Spivey arent finished yet. Rich still has some fire but Muta's in a league of his own right now. Cool seeing the Diamond Stud debut in our game. Ventura was a nice touch putting him over. Luger finally wins the big one! Can he lead WCW into the 90s? We shall see. Well done passing of the torch moment. Awesome show!

The WWF isn't wasting any time kicking off the 90s! I love these match ups.

AWA SuperClash 4 Preview/Year End Review SuperClash 4 McNichols Arena, Denver Co Live on pay per view 1-3-90 Pat Benatar will sing America the Beautiful Tag-Team Battle Royal for the National Tag Team Titles The tag team division has been a competitive one in 1989 and all the teams will compete in the annual battle royal. The stakes are high this year because the winners will be crowned National tag champs. There are a lot of feuds happening, so we'll see if certain teams can keep their eyes on the prize. Col. Debeers vs. 'The Foreman' Spike Huber Debeers came to the AWA and has made quite the impact in the world title scene. He will be at ringside in the main event and has barely acknowledged his match with Huber. Spike Huber scored some big wins early on in the year, then went on a bit of a downward slide. He's rebounded recently and says Debeers is making a big mistake by taking him lightly. Will Debeers be focused on this match or will Huber turn his world upside down. Leo Burke vs. Tommy Jammer Burke arrived last January and has been a constant contender to both the International and TV titles. Jammer arrived recently and arrogantly issued an open challenge for SuperClash. Weeks went by and Jammer put down the lack of competition in the AWA. Burke answered the challenge and was disrespected by Jammer. Burke handled that by slapping Jammer across the face. Will Jammer back up all his talk or will Burke shut him up. Tag Team Street Fight Match El Canek and Konnan vs. Blackblood and The Soultaker w/Skandor Akbar Greg Gagne paid Skandor Akbar to take care of Canek once and for all. Akbar brought in Blackblood to handle things. They feuded all summer and had a mask vs. mask match at The Happening. Canek won the match but when he did the unmasking it was Mike Miller under the mask. Canek was attacked by the real Blackblood. Soultaker joined in the feud and things looked bleak for Canek, until Konnan got involved to even things up. Both sides have been fighting non stop since and will settle things in an anything goes street fight. No Time Limit Match Carlos Colon vs. 'Sir' Tony St. Clair w/Les Thornton Colon spent the first half of the year involved in a brutal feud with Buzz Sawyer, that he finally won at WrestleRock. St. Clair arrived flaunting his riches and saying when you're simply the best, you deserve the best. He then went to the UK and was knighted. He came back with his former manager Les Thornton. They formed the Parliament with the Union Jacks. Colon and St. Clair wrestled to time limit draws at the Happening and at the Movie/Match pay per views. At SuperClash they will wrestle in a no time limit match to settle this. AWA TV Title Bout 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi (C) vs. Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart Brandi won the TV title at the Happening in a tournament final over Lou Perez. Since then, he's successfully defended his title against all comers. Anvil's name was drawn in the contender's match drawing on his actual debut night. He defeated Bill Kazmaier to earn this shot at SuperClash. Steel Cage Match! David Sammartino vs. 'The Living Legend' Larry Zbyszko David arrived in June and wanted to live up to the Sammartino name. He was immediately targeted and antagonized by Zbyszko. David defeated Zbyszko in a taped fist match at WrestleRock. Zbyszko evened things up at the Happening. They went to a NO Contest at the Movie/Match pay per view. Outside of these matches, these guys have had many fights, multiple injuries and spilled a lot of blood. Gerry Morrow had no choice but to lock them inside the cage. Elimination Match with a Twist Special Enforcer Referee- MR.T 'Bullet' Bob Armstrong/Iceman Parsons/Sweet Brown Sugar and Brutus Beefcake vs. 'The Universal Heartthrob' Austin Idol/ Chicky Starr/Dream Machine and 'Blockbuster' Brian Adias This all started at the beginning of the year between Armstrong and Idol. Things went to the next level when Bill Dundee turned on Armstrong. Dundee, Idol and Starr formed the All-Stars. Parsons united with Armstrong. At WrestleRock, Armstrong, Parsons and mystery man Don Muraco defeated the All-Stars. Things didn't stop there. Dream Machine turned on his partner Sweet Brown Sugar and joined the All-Stars. Things went up another level when Brian Adias joined the All-Stars and immediately proved his worth by heading up an attack on a debuting Brutus Beefcake. This set up the War Games match, which thanks to Glamour Doll, the All-Stars got the win. Things still continued. A series of one on one matches took place. The All-Stars were swept clean. Muraco even sent Dundee packing. Things still weren't resolved. Morrow signed a match for SuperClash. When a fall occurs during the match, the match will be stopped. The winner of that fall will remain in the AWA and the loser will have to leave the AWA. Both wrestlers must leave the ring. This is why Mr. T is here. He's going to make sure the wrestlers are gone from the ring and don't come back. 'The Mighty Yankee' Steve Disalvo vs. 'Olympian' Ken Patera Disalvo started the year as Billy Jack Strong and was teaming with Nick Busick. Busick went back to PCW. Strong went back to his Boston roots and returned using his real name. The Olympians had a great run as National tag champs until being dethroned by the RnR Express. Just a couple weeks later, Brad Rheingans wrestled a single's match against Disalvo. Disalvo injured Rheingan's shoulder. Patera challenged Disalvo to a match a SuperClash to avenge his partner. During a recent tug of war, the Olympians tried to pull a fast one on Disalvo but Disalvo turned the tables and took them both out. Jumbo Tsuruta w/Ray Stevens vs. Big Jim Morris Tsuruta dominated the first half of the year with an incredible world title reign. Stevens says Hogan's victory was tainted and Jumbo should still be champion. Morris arrived early in the year and has had some high profile wins. He spent the last few months teaming with Bill Kazmaier but the team disbanded when Kaz left the AWA. Stevens says Morris will be victim number one on Jumbo's vicious road back to the world title. Morris says "This good old boy is ready" Grudge Match 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff vs. Stan 'The Lariat' Hansen Orndorff has held gold for most of the time he's been in the AWA. He unified the National and Southern Titles with a steel cage victory over Larry Cameron at WrestleRock. Orndorff has also been dealing with neck issues courtesy of Larry Cameron. At The Happening Orndorff and Hansen wrestled to a double c.o. After the match, Hansen nailed Orndorff's neck from behind. Just days later, Terry Taylor capitalized on that and defeated Orndorff for the International title. Orndorff begged for a match with Hansen and Hansen was more than willing to accept. Orndorff made a triumphant return to TV by attacking and piledriving Hansen. They've had heated promos since. This will be a barnburner. International Title Bout 'The Red Rooster' Terry Taylor (C) vs. Don 'The Rock' Muraco w/Superstar Graham Has there been a wrestler more arrogant than the self proclaimed cock of the walk Terry Taylor this year? He arrived claiming the AWA was a henhouse and the Rooster runs the henhouse. Well, he did back up his arrogant claims by winning the International title. Graham was seriously injured by the All-Stars in June. Graham enlisted the help of Muraco and Muraco busted onto the scene at WrestleRock. Muraco then took care of Bill Dundee and has moved on from the All-Stars feud. Lately Muraco has been really aggressive and Graham has been trying to calm him down to keep his focus. AWA World Tag Team Title Bout The Fantastics (C) vs. The Rock n Roll Express This has been called a dream match up. The Fantastics chased the Guerreros for months and finally won the titles from them and sent them packing at WrestleRock. Since then, they have defeated all the top teams to retain their titles. The Rock n Roll Express arrived in July and started feuding with the Moondogs. After winning that feud, they received a National tag title shot and then dethroned the Olympians. One week later, they relinquished the titles for a world title shot. Since then, the Fantastics and RnR have had a number of run ins, mostly verbal sparring. Things would get testy and shoving matches would ensue. You could tell tensions were rising. They did reach a boiling point and a furious punch exchange ensued. Luckily it was broken up. No doubt about it, these two teams will go all out at SuperClash. AWA WORLD TITLE BOUT Special guest ring announcer- Michael Buffer Hulk Hogan (C) vs. 'The Russian Nightmare' Nikita Koloff w/Col Debeers Both men involved in this epic Super Clash have had an amazing year in the AWA. Koloff spent the first few months in a war with Sgt. Slaughter (the man who costed him the AWA world title) Koloff put an end to that war with a bootcamp match win over Slaughter. That segued into an immediate and violent feud with Jake the Snake Roberts. Koloff defeated the evil and poisonous Snake at WrestleRock. Koloff took a couple months off and returned at the Happening and actually helped Hogan while he was being attacked by Jumbo and Fujinami. This set up the movie/match pay per view. After the match, Col Debeers showed up taunting Hogan. Following that was the Russian Sickle heard around the world when Koloff put Hogan down. Since then, Koloff and Debeers have had nuclear heat. Hogan shocked the wrestling world by returning to the AWA early in 1989. Thanks to him, the AWA signed a TV deal with Sports Channel America. Attendance and ratings have sky rocketed since Hulkamania started running wild in the AWA. Hogan won the world title at WrestleRock and has been on a monumental roll since. Nikita and Debeers have banded together to end the momentum and Hulkamania. Hogan, Nikita and Debeers have had multiple altercations with Nikita and Debeers getting the best of Hogan. Will Hogan be able to concentrate on Nikita with Debeers on the outside? If not, this could very well be the end of Hulkamania. However, like Hogan has said, the power of Hulkamania is unstoppable. One thing's for sure; this will be the biggest clash in AWA history.

Rasta's such a great character and fits in so well here. Dory brings up a great point about Mulligan putting his son in Funk specialty match. The Armstrongs/Guerreros match could steal the show The blow off with Cannonball and Price will be a sight to see. Mando once again lives up to his moniker. 3 minute time limit, that's hilarious. Top Gun's getting over and now has a wing man in Ricky Santana. I think Lancaster got himself in a bind. Well, Dundee tried but 3 minutes goes by fast. Looks like there will be an investigation into Mando's lawyer. The saga continues. Christmas Homecoming is going to end 1989 with a bang! -
Bert and Ronnie always entertain. Royal and his protege Starr are ready to take on the Cubans. Sterling gets immediate credibility by defeating the Zebra Kid. I liked what you've done with Zebra in the past, so it's cool seeing him pop up here. Damn! Lock's Tazmaniacs go crazy and give the Hillbillies a beating they'll never forget. Loved that chaotic ending.

AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 12-20-89 Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. We're only 2 weeks away from the AWA's flagship event, SuperClash 4. Tonight, the AWA world champion Hulk Hogan will address that event and his title bout with Nikita Koloff. A lot of action tonight including a tug of war match between Ken Patera and Steve Disalvo. Well, let's get to the ring. David Sammartino vs. Trent Watkins Sammartino is fired up and wins the match with a belly to belly suplex! Nelson: Well David, at SuperClash it will be you and Larry Zbyszko one more time, only this time inside a steel cage. Sammartino: I came here 6 months ago and on day one, Zbyszko targeted me. This has gone on long enough and it's time to shut that loud mouth up! You hear me Zbyszko! This ends at SuperClash when I walk out of the cage and you don't! Commercial Break Tommy Jammer vs. Arnie Goldstein Jammer's arrogance shows all through the match until he finishes his opponent of with the California Splash. Nelson: Tommy, you sent out an open challenge for SuperClash and Leo Burke sure did respond. Jammer: Whoa dude, are you talking about that slap? Listen, where I come from, we refer to a man like Leo Burke as a washed up beach bum. At SuperClash I'm going to kick sand in his face, humiliate him, slap him upside his head and then beat him. Commercial Break We get a SuperClash segment with Latin Desire, Justified, Vinergy, the Rose Cousins, Karachi Vice, the Moondogs, Union Jacks and Renegade Warriors all cutting separate promos on the National Tag Team Title Battle Royal. Nelson: All those great tag teams will be battling for the National tag titles at SuperClash. Speaking of titles and SuperClash, with me right now is the AWA TV champ Tom Brandi. Tom, you didn't have a lot of time to prepare for your opponent at SuperClash. I'm talking about Jim Neidhart. What's your game plan? Brandi: Hey, Anvil's a big and powerful man, no doubt about it. I've been training hard and getting my cardio up. We'll see if the Anvil can keep up. (Brandi gives a wink) There's a commotion as Jim Neidhart walks out. He stares at Brandi and smiles. Neidhart: I'm hungry and I left my manners at home. BAHAHAHAHA! Neidhart leaves as Nelson and Brandi aren't sure what to make of that. Commercial Break We return and see a rope in the middle of the ring. Steve Disalvo is at one end. The Olympians are at the other end. The Ref asks Rheingans (still in a shoulder brace) to leave the ring. Rheingans protests by saying the Olympians always play fair and are sportsman. The Ref doesn't buy it and sends Rheingans out. Patera looks at Disalvo and gives him some flexes. The crowd cheers when Disalvo gives Patera a few flexes. Each man grabs the rope. The Ref holds on in the middle, counts to 3 and lets go. Both men's muscles tighten as they start pulling. It's back and forth for a bit. Patera gets the upper hand and starts yanking Disalvo towards him. The fans fire Disalvo up. Disalvo slowly starts to get the upper hand. Patera runs forward and puts Disalvo down with a shoulder tackle. Rheingans hits the ring and the Olympians stomp down on Disalvo. Patera lifts Disalvo up and swings him to the ropes but misses a clothesline. Disalvo swings back and takes out both Olympians with a flying shoulder block. Rheingans screams as he holds onto his injured shoulder. Patera rolls out of the ring and falls to the ground. The crowd cheers as Disalvo gives them some more flexes. Commercial Break Carlos Colon vs. Willie Wilson Colon wins it with a flying clothesline from the top rope! Nelson: After 2 draws, you and Tony St. Clair get a no time limit match at SuperClash to settle this. Colon: Sir Tony has promised a wrestling match and I'll take his word for that. However, him and Mr. Thornton are still underestimating my wrestling skills. At SuperClash, they're in for a big surprise and a wrestling showcase by me. Commercial Break SuperClash Update Ken Resnick is standing in front of a SuperClash banner. Resnick: Fans, it all happens in 2 weeks. Friday January 3rd at the McNichols Arena in Denver Colorado, live on pay per view. SuperClash 4 will go down as one of the best events in AWA history. Let's hear comments from Stan Hansen. Hansen: Paul Orndorff! If that piledriver is the best you got, then you're in serious trouble boy! Last time I broke your scrawny neck, this time I'm going to tear your head off with my lariat! (Hansen spits tobacco on the camera) Resnick: That's going to be a real barnburner. Now let's hear from Ray Stevens. This was taped somewhere in Japan. Stevens: At SuperClash Big Jim Morris is going to feel the wrath of the human wrecking machine Jumbo Tsuruta! Jumbo has been training like a madman possessed and Jim Morris will be victim number one as Jumbo starts his path of destruction to regaining the AWA world title! Resnick: Talk about ominous words. I have to say, I'm a little worried about Big Jim, but then again, never count the good old boy out. Fans, it all goes down in 2 weeks. I can't wait for Pat Benatar to kick things off. SuperClash 4...Be there!!!! Commercial Break Dream Machine w/ The All-Stars vs. Todd Rooney Before the match starts, the All-Stars are having a great time, strutting around. AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow enters the ring and takes the microphone. Idol, Starr, Adias and Dream all pat Morrow on the back. Morrow: Hello gentlemen. I will get right to de point. Last week you boys didn't play by de rules and hurt Bob Armstrong very bad. The All-Stars laugh and nod there heads in approval. Morrow: Well, in my book, turnabout is fair play. Therefore. Austin Idol, Chicky Starr and Brian Adias will now be escorted out of de building. Dream Machine must wrestle on his own. The All-Stars laugh. Dream says "No problem babay" Security escorts the All-Stars out of the building. Morrow: Oh Dream Machine, one more thing. Iceman Parsons, Sweet Brown Sugar and Brutus Beefcake are in de building and I believe you are at their mercy. Morrow exits as Dream panics. Dream slides under the ropes and sprints up the aisle and to the back. Hold on! The fans are up and cheering as Parsons, Sugar and Beefcake drag Dream back to the ring and hurl him in. They follow. Dream is on his knees begging. They all look at each other, then back at Dream and just start stomping down on him! Parsons and Beefcake hold Dream as Sugar nails him with a missile dropkick. Parsons swings Dream to the ropes and nails with the Hip Attack! Sugar picks up a dazed Dream and holds him as Beefcake swings off the ropes and puts Dream down with a high knee! Parsons, Sugar and Beefcake hurl Dream out of the ring as the fans cheer. Commercial Break 'The Rock' Don Muraco w/Superstar Graham vs. Ray Glader Muraco is really aggressive and wins the match with the inverted piledriver. Nelson: At SuperClash, Terry Taylor defends the International title against this man, Don Muraco. Muraco: At SuperClash I'm going to rip that chicken to pieces. I said No mercy and I mean it! I'm here to win gold and that's exactly what I'm going to do! Nothing's going to stop me, especially a chicken! Graham: You got this Donny. Just calm down, be cool and stay focused brother and that title is yours daddy. Muraco: Billy, this is for all the marbles and staying calm and cool isn't the answer. I helped you deal with Bill Dundee and I wasn't cool and calm with him. No mercy! Pure aggression! Graham: Ok Donny, ok brother. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, with me right now are the AWA world tag team champs, the Fantastics. More cheers as the Rock n Roll Express come out. RnR say they're sorry for interrupting the champs time, but they feel things have gone too far and just wanted to shake hands and have a good competitive match at SuperClash. The Fantastics nod and shake hands. As the teams are shaking hands more words are exchanged. Things get tense and they pull their hands a part. More words are said. Things get heated and yet another pushing match ensues. Things finally reach a boiling point as both teams engage in a furious punch exchange! Nelson runs away. Several officials and prelim wrestlers come out to break it up. Commercial Break Nelson: My goodness! At SuperClash, I hope both teams finally get it all out of their systems. (deep breath) Ok, at SuperClash, Hulk Hogan will defend the AWA world title against Nikita Koloff. Also, the one and only Michael Buffer will be the very special ring announcer. Joining me now is the world champ Hulk Hogan! Eye of the Tiger blasts as Hogan looks pumped up coming down the aisle wearing a white headband, tank top, jeans and the title around his waist. Hogan really works the crowd. Nelson: Hulk, I have to say, at SuperClash, you not only have to worry about Nikita Koloff but also Col. Debeers. It's like fighting two men. Hogan: Well you know something Lethal Larry, I know the odds don't look good but you're forgetting that I have each and every one of these Hulkamaniacs in my corner. With the power of Hulkamania, I can't lose brother! Thundering boos as Col Debeers comes out twirling his mustache. He grabs a mic and gets on the apron. Debeers: When you talk about your Hulkamaniacs, I look around and see poor blind souls. Their eyes are closed and they don't see what's really going on. However, Nikita Koloff's eyes are wide open and he's been enlightened by the truth. Hulk Hogan! You're a fraud! Hulkamania is nothing but false hope and simply a distraction to keep people from finding out what you're really all about. You're a manipulating, egotistical money hungry fool! And all these sheep of yours are fools! Hogan has enough and charges towards Debeers. Debeers drops down off the apron. The fans are going crazy as Nikita Koloff (with his Russian Chain) hits the ring from behind. Hogan turns around as Nikita clotheslines him with the chain! Nikita reaches down and takes the title off of Hogan. Nikita puts the title on his shoulder, then grabs the mic that Nelson dropped. Nikita: Hogan! Hogan! The nightmare is here! This title belong to Nikita now! Nikita puts his foot on Hogan's chest and lifts the title high as Debeers looks on in approval twirling his mustache while thundering boos drown everything else out. See previous post for full SuperClash card.

Out with Sting and in with Spivey. Sherri and Spivey make a great team. Could Sherri be the one to catapult Spivey into superstardom. I'm really looking forward to two work horses like Garvin and Martel going at it. Luger and Flair are really hyping up their upcoming match. Road Warriors vs. Rockers...bring it on! Pillman, Z-Man, Liger, Owen, talk about a stacked LHW division. I'll be calling my cable operator for sure.
-
Looks like 1990 is going to be a big year for the WWF. It's so great seeing the POP and Haku getting the pushes they deserved IRL. I'm looking forward to the challenges that await Rude and the world title. Frenchy has given the Canadians a serious resurgence. Can't wait for your shows!

Big title match ahead with Dory and Kendall. Can't wait to hear the stip for that one. Humperdink might've made a big mistake now that Top Gun is messing with the house. Lancaster's been on the roll a lifetime. Looks like Dundee has some allies. I can't wait to see a Dundee/Mando program. The Jr. title division is rock'n in Florida! -
You are so good at this! I'm hyped for 1990!

Creative idea with the coin toss. Lawler remains strong and gets sympathy while Hennig gets to heel it up big time. My man Keirn racks up another fabulous win. Great job with giving Brad Armstrong a lot to do. He finishes a fun feud with DWB and now is involved with Dutch, which will get him even more over as the Tri State champ. BTW, loved Dutch paying off Sommers LOL. One thing about Jimmy Hart, he always knows how to get heat. The Undertaker has arrived!!!! This is a game changer. Dustin Rhodes is here and immediately is involved in something big with Tojo and Goto. Add Slaughter and this is going to sell a lot of tickets. AHHHHHH, the classic we got to go ending as all hell is about to break loose. So many exciting angles and storylines going on. I can tell this has really rejuvenated you.
-
Great job on putting the pieces together in WCW. The big news is Luger using the ultimate trump card to get his title shot. A lot of intrigue going on with Luger, Sting, Sherri and the Horsemen. I love the stables being put together. Hart and Brother Love have some impressive clients. I'm really hoping Herc and Roma get a big push. A Garvin/Martel feud could work wonders for the TV title scene. Not only do Tully and Arn have the Road Warriors to worry about, but now the Rockers have arrived! There's a really good mix going on in WCW with vets like Race, Orton, Rich, JYD and Wahoo blended in with exciting new era stars like Owen, Liger, Crush, Tatanka and Boricuas. And what's in the box??? Future Shock is definitely going to set the tone for 1990.

AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 12-13-89 Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. AWA world champion Hulk Hogan will be here tonight! Konnan takes on Blackblood. The Renegade Warriors go up against the Union Jacks. All that and plenty more as the road to SuperClash continues. 'The Foreman' Spike Huber vs. Ted Kingsly Huber airplane spins Kingsly, slams him down and follows with an elbow drop to get the win. Nelson: Spike, at SuperClash, Col. Debeers will be in the corner of Nikita Koloff in the big world title bout. However, earlier that night, he will be facing you. I'm sure you've seen all the havoc Debeers has caused. Huber: It seems that Col. Debeers isn't all that concerned with his match with me. Listen and listen good Debeers. You better not brush me off and take me lightly because this foreman is ready to drop the hammer down on you at SuperClash! Commercial Break 'Sir' Tony St. Clair w/Les Thornton vs. William Hillman Tony executes his floating butterfly suplex and it's all over. Nelson: Tony, you and Colon have wrestled to two incredible time limit draws. At SuperClash it will be the two of you in a no time limit match. I'm sure that will settle just who is the better wrestler once and for all. Thornton: First of all, Nelson, you will address Tony St. Clair as Sir. Sir Tony is going to show that barbaric savage Colon exactly who the superior wrestler is. Colon has been lucky to go the limit twice, but during those matches, Sir Tony was just getting warmed up. At SuperClash, no time limit plays right into our hands. Tony: Colon, it's you and me one more time and at SuperClash we're going to have a wrestling match plain and simple and I'm confident my skills will simply outmatch yours. Commercial Break Konnan vs. Blackblood w/Skandor Akbar The bell rings and these guys go toe to toe in a furious exchange. Just as Konnan starts to get the advantage, Akbar hops on the apron and taunts him. Konnan runs over and grabs Akbar. Blood sends Konnan through the ropes with a flying knee to the back. Blood goes to the outside and stomps down on Konnan, then picks him up and slams his head on the apron, then hurls him back in the ring. Blood goes to the top rope and crashes down with a knee drop, but Konnan moves at the last second. Both men stagger up. Konnan clotheslines Blood down. Konnan swings Blood to the ropes and back drops him. Akbar signals to the back. Soultaker runs out and hits the ring BUT El Canek is right behind him! Canek and Taker trade blows in the ring. The Ref signals for the bell and declares it a no contest. The bell keeps ringing, but all 4 men keep fighting. They fight to the outside and all around the ring into the commercial break. Commercial Break Nelson: My goodness, things have finally settled down. At SuperClash those 4 men will wrestle in a street fight. Wow! Ok speaking of SuperClash, my guest at this time will be a big part of it and made his triumphant return last week. I'm talking about Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff! The fans go wild as Orndorff walks out with confidence. He points to the fans and pumps his fists. Nelson: Welcome back Paul. I see your neck is in good shape and I believe Stan Hansen may be regretting what he's gotten himself into. Orndorff: Paul Orndorff is back! And I'm feeling better than ever! Stan Hansen! You call yourself a big tough cowboy but you're nothing but a coward in my book. You put me out of action by hitting me from behind. Well. as you can see, I'm standing here and ready to go. You found that out last week when I put your head through the canvas with my piledriver. Oh but I'm not finished, no, no, no. I'm only getting warmed up. At SuperClash, you're mine Hansen! All mine! The fans cheer as Orndorff gives them a double bicep pose. Commercial Break 'Bullet' Bob Armstrong vs. Ray Glader Armstrong gets the win with the Jaw Breaker. OH NO! The All-Stars (Idol, Starr, Dream and Adias) hit the ring and attack Bob! They punch, kick and stomp Armstrong down. Idol clamps on the Las Vegas Leglock as the rest of the All-Stars stomp away. Dream Machine loads his mask and hits a diving headbutt on Bob while Idol keeps wrenching away with the leglock. Bob's a bloody mess. Adias and Starr take turns with fist drops on Bob's bloody head. Idol finally releases the hold. Each of the All-Stars put a boot on Bob's body and raise their arms in victory. Idol grabs the mic. Idol: (looks down at Bob) Awwwww darling, don't even bother showing up at SuperClash. You should just pack up and leave now. Dream: That's right baaaaaaabaaaaay! Starr: Where are your amigos? I think they left the AWA already. Adios (laughs) Adias: It's all over Bobby Boy! The AWA is meant for stars...All-Stars! Commercial Break Nelson: Bob Armstrong had to be helped out of here and was in bad shape. I want to clarify something. The All-Stars and Beefcake, Sugar and Parsons all agreed they wouldn't be on tonight's show to prevent something like what just happened. I'm sure the All-Stars are real proud of themselves for breaking that promise. We'll see what AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow has to say about this. Ok, joining me now is the AWA International champ Terry Taylor. Taylor comes out with his hair slicked into a ponytail, red sequence jacket and the belt around his waist. Nelson: Terry, you'll be defending your title against Don Muraco at SuperClash. Muraco is pretty fired up for this match and promises to take that title. Taylor: Don Muraco? Does he really think he has a chance. I've told you before, the red rooster runs this henhouse and if Muraco thinks he's going to come into my henhouse and take my title, well, he better think again. I'm the cock of the walk which means I back up everything I say, and this title proves it. So Muraco, the only thing you have coming is a beating from me, the Red Rooster! Commercial Break 'Big' Jim Morris vs. Carl Kellerman Morris wins the match with a bearhug. Nelson: Ok Jim, at SuperClash you have quite a task ahead when you meet Jumbo Tsuruta. I understand Ray Stevens has Jumbo in serious training over in Japan. Morris: Larry, this old boy is fired up and excited to be facing Jumbo Tsuruta at SuperClash. You talk about serious training well this old boy is taking things very seriously and they're going to find that out at SuperClash. WOOOO WEEEE! Commercial Break The Rock n Roll Express vs. Trent Watkins and Arnie Goldstein During the match the AWA world tag champs the Fantastics are at ringside scouting the match. RnR look annoyed but quickly end the match with a double dropkick. RnR head to the outside and confront the Fantastics. Tommy and Bobby are shrugging and saying they were just scouting. Ricky and Robert ask if they saw what they liked. The Fantastics wiggle their hands and say it was ok. RnR take offense and another pushing and shoving match occurs before officials run out. While RnR is escorted away, the Fantastics are holding their titles high towards them. Commercial Break 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer vs. Harold Bannister Sawyer wins the match with a powerslam. After the match, Sawyer bites away on Bannister's head until he bleeds. Sawyer smiles as he heads to ringside. Nelson: (very nervous) Buzz, what's with you lately? Sawyer: I'm just having fun. He's ok (maniacal laugh) Nelson: Well, I have something here for you. It seems to be a birthday card and I suppose to read it. It says happy birthday Buzz. You will get your present at SuperClash. Sawyer: (laughs) it's not my birthday. Nelson: Well then, I have no idea what this means. Sawyer: That's ok, I'll show up to get my gift. Sounds fun (maniacal laugh) Nelson just seems disturbed by all this Commercial Break The Renegade Warriors vs. The Union Jacks w/Les Thornton Both teams put on a solid back and forth showing until Vinergy runs in and attacks the Warriors which causes a DQ. Vinergy and the Union Jacks put a beating on the Warriors until Justified hits the ring to even things up. Eventually all the teams are brawling and wrestlers are getting tossed over the top rope in a preview to the SuperClash tag team battle royal. Commercial Break We see MR.T inside the McNichols Arena with a SuperClash banner hanging behind him. T: At SuperClash I've been appointed special enforcer referee for the Elimination match. I want everybody involved to know that when your match is over, I'm going to see to it that nobody comes back. I pity the fool that tries. Pat Benatar is in a music studio. Benatar: I can't wait to kick things off at SuperClash. And I dare any wrestler to hit me with their best shot Commercial Break Nelson is standing in the ring. Nelson: Please welcome out the AWA world champion, Hulk Hogan! The place goes bonkers as Eye of the Tiger blasts. Hogan heads down the aisle wearing jeans, white headband, T-Shirt and the world title around his waist. Hogan enters the ring and gives the fans a thumbs up. Nelson: There will be an epic clash at SuperClash when you Hulk Hogan defends the AWA world title against Nikita Koloff with Col. Debeers in his corner. Hogan: Well you know something Lethal Larry, I've felt the wrath of Nikita Koloff brother and I won't lie, my head's been reeling ever since. But it's going to take a lot more than that to keep the power of Hulkamania down brother! I faced the monsters before and nothing can destroy Hulkamania! Nikita Koloff! I'm putting you down, all the way down. And as for that slime Debeers, if he so much as tries anything, I'm going to choke the life out of him. So Koloff! Debeers! Whatcha gonna do when Hulk Hogan, the Hulkamaniacs and Hulkamania run wild on youuuuuuuuu! Hogan starts flexing, But wait! Here comes Nikita Koloff and Col. Debeers. Nikita has the chain around him. Debeers steps into the ring as Nikita walks around the ring to the other side. Debeers twirls his mustache but Hogan charges and clotheslines Debeers over the top rope! Nikita hits the ring and is ready to clothesline Hogan with the chain, but Hogan turns around and ducks. Nikita misses, and turns around as Hogan punches away until Nikita drops the chain. Hogan swings Nikita to the ropes and puts up his boot but Nikita grabs the ropes and pulls himself to the outside. Nikita helps up Debeers. They look to regroup, but Hogan picks up Nikita's chain and begs them to come back inside. Nikita and Debeers yell at Hogan as Hogan pleads with them to get back in the ring.

Bert and Ronnie are gold together! The mysterious woman is really making her presence known by bringing in the wild man Taz. This will get the people of Kentucky talking. Martin gets a nice win and plays his part well. If you want to make a name for yourself in this business, give Falk a call. My man Renesto ends the show on a high note.

Wow, I never thought I would see the day where Fidel becomes a sympathetic face. Very well done. Good drama build up with the missing Cannonball story. DJ really got Mulligan heated LOL. I agree with AD, Ratsa's video was classic territory stuff. This is going to be a lot of fun. Precious and Jimmy try to get one over on Lancaster, but Mulligan gets one over on them with a big stipulation set for next week. Man, the Guerreros are really playing up the heel card here. Now, with Dundee coming in, this is only going to get better. I popped big time seeing Lightfoot and Afi team up. I know the High Chiefs wont let the Guerrero's trickery slide. The cage match was all sorts of mayhem we would expect. From the Rich's beatdown, to the dramatic return of Cannonball, to Mulligan slipping in the axe handle. DJ's boys are victorious but this war is far from over. Awesome read! I'm invested in all the storylines going on. -
WCW is off and running! I love the top 10 ratings. Pillman and Zenk will bring the youthful excitement, that's for sure. Can't wait to find out what's in the box for Sullivan. I was actually getting ready to do something similar at SuperClash LOL. Look at that, the original horsemen are back together again. Great stuff! Lots of intrigue going on in the world title picture. Flair better be ready because he's got Sting, Luger and Muta gunning for him. Race and Orton is such an old school badass team. Looking forward to watching Martel, Owen and Bulldog transition to WCW. Future Shock will definitely set WCW's tone for 1990.

AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 12-6-89 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. We're on the road to SuperClash 4 and a lot is going on. Tonight's TV title contender's match will be for a title shot at SuperClash. The lucky men that were drawn are Bill Kazmaier and get this, he was to make his AWA debut tonight and believe it or not his name was drawn. I'm talking about Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart. Stan Hansen will be in action right here, tonight! AWA world tag champs, the Fantastics will be in the ring. Also, Nikita Koloff will be tuning up for his big world title match in a handicap match tonight. Ok, let's get to the ring for 8 man tag action. 'Bullet' Bob Armstrong/Iceman Parsons/Sweet Brown Sugar and Brutus Beefcake vs. Carl Kellerman/William Hillman/Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez Everybody shines tonight. Parsons hits his Hip Attack. Sugar hits a missile dropkick. Beefcake hits his running high knee and Armstrong finishes things off with a Jaw Breaker. The 4 men give a fired up and passionate promo about their Elimination Match with a twist against the All-Stars at SuperClash. They say they've been through all the battles and promise to end the war and the All-Stars at SuperClash! Commercial Break 'Olympian' Ken Patera w/Brad Rheingans vs. Todd Rooney Rheingans is wearing a shoulder brace due to his injury from Steve Disalvo a few weeks ago. Patera shows off his power and strength and wins the match with a swinging full nelson. Nelson: Ok, Ken Patera, you made the challenge and Steve Disalvo accepted. You two will meet at SuperClash. Patera: I'm dedicating my SuperClash win over that weakling Disalvo to my friend and partner, Brad Rheingans. Disalvo, you're nothing but a low down dirty cheater! You injured my friend and now I'm going to hurt you. You're no match for me! Rheingans: I'm just happy I'm going to get an up close view of watching that despicable Disalvo suffer. Commercial Break Stan 'The Lariat' Hansen vs. Warren Coolidge Hansen just destroys Coolidge and finishes him off with his lariat! Hansen goes to the outside, pushes Nelson out of the way and grabs his bull rope. Hansen gets in the ring and chokes Coolidge with it. The crowd goes nuts as PAUL ORNDORFF hits the ring!!! Orndorff clotheslines Hansen from behind! Orndorff stomps down on Hansen. The fans are going nuts as Orndorff hoists Hansen up and piledrives him down!! The atmosphere is electric! Orndorff rips off his shirt, throws it down on Hansen and gives the fans a pumped up flex. Orndorff is back! Commercial Break The Moondogs w/Skandor Akbar vs. Sam and Steve Smith Akbar applauds as Rex hits a backbreaker on Sam, holds him as Spot comes off the middle ropes with a knee to the chest for the win. Afterwards, the Moondogs grab their bones and give their fallen opponents a beat down with them. Akbar gives a promo and says after what just happened is there any doubt that the Moondogs are going to win the SuperClash tag team battle royal and the National tag titles. He warns all the teams especially Karachi Vice that the Moondogs will cause destruction at SuperClash! Commercial Break Tommy Jammer vs. Colt Stevens Jammer hits the California Splash for the win. Jammer steps on his opponent's chest and does a surfing pose that irks the fans. Nelson: Tommy, it appears that nobody has yet to answer your SuperClash challenge. Jammer: You know I have to say, I'm disappointed but not surprised. I thought the AWA was the Major Leagues. No worries, I guess I'll go back to sunny California and ride some waves. At least I'll find some excitement there, which is a lot more that I can say about the AWA. Cheers as Leo Burke walks out. Burke: I'll get straight to the point. I'll accept your challenge and wrestle you at SuperClash. You wanted an opponent, you got one. Jammer: (pauses, then chuckles) Look dude, I was looking for an opponent but come on man. Didn't you just lose last week to Terry Taylor? I need a bigger challenge and I don't deal with losers. Thanks Pops, but no thanks. Burke: Well, maybe this will change your mind. Burke slaps Jammer across the face! Burke: Better learn some respect...son. Burke walks away. Nelson smirks as Jammer holds his cheek. Jammer: Ok dude! It's on! Jammer walks away still holding his cheek. Commercial Break SuperClash 4 Update Resnick: Fans, things are really heating up as we get closer to SuperClash. It's going to be a clash of the titans when Hulk Hogan defends the AWA world title against Nikita Koloff. As we heard, there was only one man who could properly announce that match and it's Michael Buffer. Rock music sensation Pat Benatar will kick things off with America the Beautiful. And listen to this. AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow said there will be a special referee enforcer for the Elimination match. Well, it's a bombshell because the one and only MR.T has been given that job! If there's one man that can handle that job, it's Mr. T. It all goes down in Denver Colorado, live on pay per view, Friday January 3rd. BE THERE! Commercial Break AWA World Tag Team Champs The Fantastics vs. Harold Bannister and Ray Glader During the match, the Rock n Roll Express come to ringside to scout the champs. The Fantastics look annoyed by this but get focused and win the match with the Rocket Launcher. The Fantastics hurry to the outside. They have words with RnR. Ricky and Robert are telling them they were just scouting. More words are exchanged. Tempers get heated and a pushing match ensues. Officials run out to break it up. Commercial Break David Sammartino vs. Paul Worth Sammartino finishes things off with a belly to belly suplex! Boos as Larry Zbyszko hits the ring with his nun chucks! Sammartino turns around as Larry swings, but Sammartino ducks and just goes to town on Larry with punches. Sammartino swings Larry to the ropes and kicks him in the gut. As Larry slouches over, Sammartino picks up the nun chucks and whacks Larry across the back with them! Larry goes down and rolls to the apron, then falls to the outside. Larry is in grimacing pain holding his back as a pumped up Sammartino soaks in the cheers. Commercial Break Winner gets an AWA TV Title shot at SuperClash Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart vs. 'The World's Strongest Man' Bill Kazmaier What a way for the Anvil to make his debut. However, Kaz is looking to spoil it. These two powerhouses trade some hard hitting shots and power moves. A few minutes in, Kaz finally gets an advantage. Kaz swings Anvil to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash. Kaz picks up Anvil and hits a backbreaker. Kaz swings Anvil to the ropes and clamps on a bearhug! Kaz puts all his muscle into it as Anvil tries to survive. Anvil is able to rake Kaz's eyes and follow with an eye gouge to finally break it. Anvil catches his breath and hurls Kaz outside the ring. Anvil goes to the apron. Kaz staggers up as Anvil nails him with a double axehandle. Anvil swings Kaz into the steel post. Anvil grabs Kaz and rams him back first into the apron. Anvil hurls Kaz back into the ring. Anvil uses his incredible strength and hoists Kaz up and delivers a running powerslam 1..2..3! Anvil strokes his goatee and is heading to SuperClash to meet Tom Brandi for the TV title. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, before we get to our final match, I want to announce that the AWA world champion Hulk Hogan will be here next week! I'm sure he will have a lot to talk about regarding his match with Nikita Koloff at SuperClash. Also next week, Konnan goes one on one with BlackBlood. That should be quite the SuperClash preview. Ok, back to the ring. 'The Russian Nightmare' Nikita Koloff w/Col. Debeers vs. Marvin Moore and Lance Richards Nikita decimates both men. He nails Moore with the Russian Sickle! Then drops Richards with a Russian Sickle! Nikita puts a hand on each man's chest as the Ref counts 1..2..3! Debeers raises Nikita's arm as the fans boo. Nelson: After what went down at the Press Conference... Debeers cuts him off. Debeers: What went down was an eye opener for the great American Hulk Hogan. I have unleashed the true Russian Nightmare and Hulk Hogan just got a taste. At SuperClash, Nikita Koloff is going to do what he's done to all the other evil and cowardly Americans. He's going to win the fight and reclaim what's been rightfully his all along, the AWA world title! Koloff: Hogan! Hogan! The time is ticking. Your time is ticking as your worst nightmare awaits! You have what belongs to Nikita. Nikita take more than AWA world title. Nikita take away everything you are! Nikita show the world that a weak American like you is a disgrace to world title. You're an imposter holding on to my title! Nikita take back what is his! SuperClash will be the nightmare the AWA needs to happen! The show ends with Debeers twirling his mustache as Nikita sticks out his tongue and does a trap pose.

Damn, Johnson's finish was visually stunning. What a way to start the night. Flynn gets noticed with a beautiful spin kick finish. Tamura edges out Yamada with a classic Boston Crab submission. Benoit shines but Shamrock catches him with a surprise victory. Hopefully these guys go at it again. Karelin has been quietly dominating and just might take it all. Yamazaki puts up a fight but in the end Maeda proves he's still the man. Loved that suplex/armbar finish. Props to Takada, he withstood a tremendous amount of punishment, but man that finishing blow by Vader sealed the deal. Vader vs. Maeda is going to be epic! Sayama once again gets the best of Fujiwara in one heck of a main event. Sayama definitely earned his way into the finals. Your knowledge and write ups continue to impress me. Great job!

Looks like you've got things mapped out well and are ready to go. Can't wait to watch what you do with the WWF in 1990!

Survivor Series! Here we go! The Human Wrecking Machine Zeus goes on an absolute tear. Martel looks like a million bucks. However, in the end, the Bulldog is the last man standing. Hahahaha I love how Duggan just says screw it and takes the DQ allowing Quake and Bravo to win it. A lot of chaos in the next match. Tito looks good but damn, Muta was incredible. Technically Dusty is the sole survivor but not sure he actually survived. Heenan pays the price for cheating which leads to a dominating finish by Warrior ending the night on a high note. I really liked how you wrapped things up with the bonus house shows. Props to you on a tremendous WWF run.

Lancaster's fired up tonight and upsets Gorgeous Jimmy. Who better than Blackjack Mulligan to enforce law and order in Florida. Armstrong's arrive and quickly get over with a win over the New Breed. New Breed better regain focus. The entire Mando/Graham segment was outstanding. The stipulation, Blackjack and the surprise appearance by Hector and Chavo. Very well done. Rockers give it their all but the HoH still find a way to break the rules and win. I agree with Ross, the Price/Cannonball feud just might be the top feud going. Chaos ends the show which sets things up for the big cage match next week. Damn, there's never a dull moment in Florida.
