  1. Loved that promo from Holiday on the beach. I was laughing all the way through it. Hammerstone's background shenanigans were hilarious. So well done Great moment for the Andersons. Another cool promo from the NWA woman's champ La Princessa. This piece already puts her gimmick over Shocking appearance from the NWA world champ Silas Mason as the Southern Six stand full strength. Great show. The promos were incredible
  2. AWA Highlights from the Mecca card in Milwaukee 6-6-91 Dick Slater and Ron Garvin gave the fans a true slugfest. The fists never stopped flying as they engaged in some stiff and brutal exchanges. They ended up brawling outside to a double c.o. They kept swinging after the bell. Officials came out to break it up. They finally stopped fighting but were staring daggers at each other before walking their separate ways. The Guerreros, British Bombers, El Canek and Mil Mascaras, The RPMs, TCB, Rampage and Los Boricuas battled it out in a tag team battle royal for an AWA world tag team title shot at WrestleRock. The AWA dual champs, the Heavenly Bodies were seated at ringside with both sets of titles. It was clear that personal grudges were too much to overcome. El Canek and Mil Mascaras took full advantage of this. While Rampage and Los Boricuas were tangled up with each other, Canek and Mascaras dumped them all over the top rope. The RPMs and TCB all went over the top rope fighting each other. The Bombers and Guerreros continued their rivalry. As they were fighting on the ropes, Canek and Mascaras double dropkicked the Guerreros into the Bombers which sent both teams over. El Canek and Mil Mascaras win the battle royal! As Canek and Mascaras celebrate, the Heavenly Bodies hit the ring and nail them on the back of their heads with the titles! The Heavenly Bodies pick up the other set of titles. Prichard puts his foot on Mascaras as Del Ray puts his foot on Canek. They smile and hold up both sets of titles while the fans boo. The Heavenly Bodies laugh and wave off their future challengers before exiting.
  3. I'm loving all the craziness surrounding the world title. I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen at SNME. Then you've got Arnold coming in. Things will get insane! I'm glad to see P&G get a title run. I always loved this team. I like how you're using JYD at this point in his career. He's a former huge star and still has a lot of value. Putting him in the tag title picture is a great fit for him and it also gives Warlord that babyface rub. Awesome job with the match announcement visuals. These add so much color to the storytelling.
  4. Lee and the OWC go back to the triangle formula but not sure calling out Savage and Williams is the right thing to do. Liger and PCO bounce back quickly I'm really looking forward to Savage's PCW run. Martel's getting into his new heel persona Severn looks to tame the beast inside The Thrillseekers eke out another hard fought win over the hungry Headbangers. This shows how competitive the tag division in PCW is. Vancouver Morley's living up to his moniker Bigelow racks up yet another big win I can't get enough of Slaughter/Condrey. These guys can bring it If the Spinebuster Slam don't get you, the Bully Breaker will Midnight's are off to another great start of another title run Hart still deserves another shot but Bigelow may have found a way in for one of his own. I'm up for a Kawada/Bigelow series. Kelowna Eddie's brainbuster/Frog Splash combo is such a great finishing sequence Pipe puts Hollywood Jack to sleep Windham's another guy I would love to see go up against Kawada Under Piper's tutelage, Candido has been reborn My guys the FOJ's second reign is off and running New LHW champ Lightning Kid closes out the weekend on a high note.
  5. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 6-5-91 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Well, as you witnessed last weekend, the road to WrestleRock is in full throttle. We'll be talking a lot more about WrestleRock tonight. We'll be hearing from the AWA world champ Kokina along with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie. His WrestleRock opponent Carlos Colon will be in action. We'll also be hearing from Gerry Morrow and the Immortal Hulk Hogan. Also, the Ultimate Warrior will be in this very building tonight! Ok, let's get to the ring. Carlos Colon vs. George Randoni The fans are 100% behind Colon as he works over his opponent and finishes things off with a flying clothesline from the top rope. Nelson: Carlos, you get your golden opportunity at WrestleRock. After last week in Puerto Rico, I have no doubt that you're ready. Colon: I've been waiting my whole career for a chance to wrestle for the world title in front of my people. I have that opportunity and you can bet I've never been more prepared in my life. I'll be going back to Puerto Rico for a couple weeks to train harder than ever. At WrestleRock, I'm coming for the world title and I plan on winning it! We see Kokina standing in front of a WrestleRock banner. The world title is on his shoulder. Adnan has the mic. Adnan: Carlos Colon! You may think you have the upper hand but the only thing you did was upset the monster Kokina! Everybody will see Kokina's wrath when he wrestles 3 men next week on TV. Watch closely Colon! Watch very closely. See what destruction lies ahead of you at WrestleRock! Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, joining me now is Greg Gagne. Gagne: You know, I'm in such a great mood that not even an unenthusiastic nerd like you Larry can spoil it. This is the moment the wrestling world has been waiting for. After months of diligent scouting and searching, I've found my ace wrestler. This man is no ordinary wrestler. This man is a wrestling champion, a wrestling machine, a textbook technician. It is my honor and privilege to introduce to you, all the way from Sweden...The Ace, Frank Andersson! Sweden's National Anthem plays as Frank walks out wearing an Athletic Swedish sweatsuit. Frank's wearing several medals around his neck. He has a combination of confidence and arrogance. He shakes hands with Gagne and snubs Nelson. Gagne: Ace, this truly is a historic moment for me and the entire wrestling world. All those medals represent all of this man's tremendous wrestling accomplishments. Nobody and I mean nobody can outwrestle the Ace. Nelson: Those medals are very impressive indeed. When will we see your ace in the ring? Gagne: (laughs) Are you kidding me? These people will have to pay to watch his debut. I'll give the AWA 2 weeks to find a suitable opponent for my ace and then he will make his glorious debut at WrestleRock. Gagne pulls out a camera. Gagne: Make yourself useful Larry and take a picture of Ace and I. Nelson rolls his eyes. Andersson gives him a glare, so Nelson takes the picture. Gagne: All the wrestling magazines will want this photo on their covers. Thanks nerd. We'll see all of you at WrestleRock. That is if somebody has the guts to face the Ace. Commercial Break Sam Houston vs. Todd Rooney Sam's all over his opponent and easily wins the match with a running bulldog. Sam cuts a promo and says he's ready to give anybody a bunkhouse style whipping at WrestleRock! Commercial Break We get a segment about the card in Milwaukee's Mecca tomorrow night. Footage will be shown next week. Ron Garvin takes on Dick Slater. Also, the big tag team battle royal with the winners getting a world tag shot at WrestleRock. Speaking of the world tag team titles. AWA world champs, the Heavenly Bodies have been seen at many different nightclubs in the V.I.P. sections. They've actually been seen at these clubs with both sets of titles and heard bragging about being dual champions. The Hangman w/Nell vs. Trent Watkins Hangman completely destroys his opponent and finishes things off with the Hangman's neckbreaker. Nell gives Hangman a signal. Hangman lifts his fallen opponent up and drops him with the devastating Heart Punch! Nell cuts a promo as Watkins is being carried out on a stretcher. Nell: Poor Bossman. We have received word that you and the Hangman will cross paths again at WrestleRock. Last week you got just a taste of what the Hangman is capable of. You see that poor soul being stretched out. Take a good hard look Bossman. That's your future. Hangman threatens Nelson with the noose which sends Nelson running. Commercial Break Nelson: I'm here with Austin Idol, now manager of Superstar Bill Dundee. Before Idol can talk, Gary Young walks out. Young: Austin, what's this all about? I trusted you and you abandoned me and also my partners. You let me down Austin. Idol: Gary, darling, I've always liked you but this is a harsh business. I gave you the opportunity of a lifetime but your head was in the clouds. You dropped the ball and most of all you embarrassed me. And darling, you have some serious abandonment issues. I've found someone who wont cave under pressure. Dundee: (smirking and shaking his head) Damn Idol, this is the guy you were praising a while ago? Pathetic. Kid, take a walk and get some therapy. You're not cut out for this business. Young: This is between Austin and me but maybe I can show you just how cut out for this business I am and what a huge mistake Austin made. How about you and I have a match right here, next week? Idol: Oh Gary, just let it go Dundee: Hold on Austin. I would be more than happy to give this punk a wrestling lesson and show him just how hard this business can be. You got a match kid but you're the one who's making a mistake. Before the commercial, Nelson hypes up the WrestleRock match for the AWA International title bout between Konnan and Leo Burke. He says both Konnan and Burke will each have a special sit down interview. Burke's will take place next week. Commercial Break AWA 6-Man Champs Demolition vs. 3 local talents Demolition steam roll over their opponents and win the match with the Decapitator! Footage from last week is shown as Demolition hit the ring to back up Hulk Hogan and fight the Japanese Nelson: Ok, big news. At WrestleRock, the 3 of you will defend the six man titles against Jumbo Tsuruta. Mr. Saito and Shinya Hashimoto. Crush: We said we came here looking for a fight and Hogan offered us one and we accepted! Smash: They like beating people up when the odds are in their favor but the odds are never in your favor when you have to fight Demolition! Ax: We're the champs but we issued the challenge! Now let's see how tough they really are! Commercial Break We go inside a luxury hotel suite. Gerry Morrow is sitting there with Jumbo Tsuruta, Mr. Saito, Shinya Hashimoto and Brenda Britton. All of them are wearing suits. Brenda's in a dress. Morrow: AHHHHHHH Mr. Hogan has put a twist into our saga. I admit, you might have caught us off guard last week but I assure you, we have quickly adjusted and have adapted. My clients here are fearless. De Demolition can't handle what's in store for them at WrestleRock. Mr. Hogan is a foolish man but Demolition are just plain stupid for meddling in our business. De only thing dat will happen is Demolition will be demolished (laughs) at WrestleRock and you will be looking at de new AWA six man champions. Now, as for dat coward Hulk Hogan. Do you really think bringing in muscle will help you at all? (laughs) of course it won't! I gave you a chance Mr. Hogan and now you are de only one to blame when you leave all your fans mourning de death of Hulkamania. I'm telling you right now Mr. Hogan, you will not make it to WrestleRock. I can guarantee dat. We then go to a gym where we see Hulk Hogan pumping iron like a madman. He stops. Hogan: Each rep I do, I can still feel the soreness from the beating that no good snake Morrow and his goons gave me. But Hulk Hogan found a way to even the odds brother. My brothers Demolition have my back and now it's just you and me Morrow! Each night I dream of what I'm going to do to you inside the cage at WrestleRock. I'm counting down the minutes. Gerry Morrow! I'm going to make you suffer and pay for all the sins you committed against HulkaMania. So, at WrestleRock, inside the steel cage, with nowhere to run or nowhere to hide, whatcha gonna do when the power of all my Hulkamaniacs and Hulkamania run wild on youuuuuuuuuuuuuu! Commercial Break Maxx Payne vs. Ray Glader Payne basically tortures his opponent and makes him suffer more as he clamps on the Payne Killer for the submission win. Payne goes to ringside and starts jamming on his guitar as Nelson tries to get a word with him. AWA Commissioner Magnum TA comes out and Payne slows down and stops. Magnum: I'll be honest with you Maxx Payne. After what you did last week to Bad News Brown, it's obvious you didn't learn anything from your suspension. I wanted to fire you. However, I talked with Bad News Brown and he demanded a match with you. I'm going to give it to him. You'll be facing him at WrestleRock! Magnum leaves. A grin comes over Maxx's face. He starts playing TAPS on his guitar. Nelson gets creeped out. Commercial Break Larry Nelson is standing in the ring. Nelson: Fans, this is a moment we've been anticipating for a while. Coming out now...THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR! The powerful guitar riff hits. The fans go nuts as the Warrior sprints to the ring. He gets inside and shakes the ropes. He paces around with an intense look. He gets the mic from Nelson. Warrior: Talk to me Warriors! Big pop Warrior: I have arrived! The Warrior is here on a quest and that quest begins right now! I must summons another warrior. Kerry Von Erich! I extend an invitation for you to join me in this ring. Stand here with me Kerry Von Erich! The fans are waiting anxiously. Rush's Tom Sawyer plays and the fans go wild. Kerry comes out and walks to the ring with intensity of his own. He steps through the ropes. Warrior and Kerry stand face to face. Warrior: Kerry Von Erich! I have watched you conquer and win numerous battles here in the AWA. I have watched you overcome all adversity and emerge victorious in your wars. You truly are a modern day warrior! Warrior respectfully bows to Kerry Warrior: As I stood over a mountain top, voices of past Warriors spoke to me. In order for me to be the Ultimate Warrior, I must face only the greatest warriors. Kerry Von Erich, I issue a challenge to you. There is no other way. For me to become the true Ultimate Warrior I must defeat the Modern Day Warrior in battle. Do you accept this challenge? The fans are stunned and wait for the response. Kerry: (looks around at the fans) The past year, I've been bloodied, beaten up, battered and bruised. However, in the end, I've always won the war. A true modern day warrior fights. I've never backed down from a challenge and these people know that. (CHEERS) So, Ultimate Warrior, I accept your challenge! (HUGE POP) Man to Man! Warrior: Warrior to Warrior! We will battle until one remains. The way it has always been meant to be. Warrior extends his hand. Kerry shakes it. They grip hard and pull each other into an epic stare down.
  6. Well, it was only a matter of time but Pretty in Pink finally disband. It seems 12 hours on the farm was enough to rehabilitate Tasha. Great stuff. The big news is the arrival of Brother Love. Man, this just might be the perfect place for him.
  7. Gordy and Orndorff are old school tough guys that bring legitimacy to SMW. If SMW wants fans in the buildings, this feud for the title is the way to go IRS and Wright work so well together. I think they're giving Dutch a run as top heels here Austin's getting the experience of a lifetime in SMW. He's making the most of his chance to shine and show the world he has what it takes to be a star. Murdoch always cracked me up when he was with the Russians. Classic Dutch, loses the match and blames Ahmed. Dutch better watch it. Ahmed isn't somebody you want to piss off Great preview to the tag tournament as Destruction Crew and TNT go all out.
  8. Scott's win will generate him some good buzz You can definitely see Kanemoto's improvement That kick really woke Benoit up. He rebounded well That visual of Kakihara's final high kick shows how devasting kicks can be Tamura and Yamazaki looked incredible tonight. These guys are legit contenders Fujinami took an extreme amount of punishment tonight. Onita and Sayama can be considered for a title shot as well HUGE win for Shamrock! This catapults him to another level. Han and Takada put on a thriller. Nice comeback from Han. Vrij gives Maeda an early scare but Maeda shows why he's the champ by remaining calm and steadily wearing Vrij down for the submission. Oh man I would love to see Vader and Maeda go at it again!
  9. The Clash is building into something big. The tag team situation will finally be resolved in a triple threat match. That one's going to be hard hitting for sure Hall gets his opportunity but he's facing a red hot Sting Smart move with the babyfaces uniting against the Dangerous Alliance. Really looking forward to that Pillman/Zbyszko match The drama continues between Morton and Hayes. Good job with the showcases tonight. Harley's men look dominant while Hennig and Rude look polished as ever York will finally set Tenryu loose at the Clash. I think the other factions better take notice Bad omen for Anvil as he looks to be Taker's next target No chaos this week but the stare downs speak volumes
  10. KOTR! Dynamite and Hase kick things off with one heck of an opener. Hart's interference backfires as Dynamite advances. Thanks to Taylor's pre match beating on JYD, Andre easily advances. Hmmmmm, what was that all about??? Duggan came out swinging but one mistake is all Flair needed as he pulls off the classic heel roll up Ok Nailz completely snapped. Backlund should've known this man cannot be rehabilitated. Andre's been a lucky man tonight. I'm sure Tatanka will want another fight with Nailz but he better bring his tomahawk with him The 8 man tag was a lot of fun. Loved the heels arguing with each other as well as the managers. Warlord seems to be getting a good push. Dynamite sure made Flair work for that win. Great job making Dynamite look strong in defeat. Flair really got to shine here. Very interesting finals ahead Damn, Earthquake looked like an absolute beast tonight. I wouldn't mind seeing an Earthquake/Warlord IC match. Awesome segment with Taylor and Nailz. From the envelope to the spotted spray can to the Million Dollar Corporation card. So many questions but a lot of clues to answers Santana and Lawler give the fans an exciting title bout. Funk keeping order amongst all the chaos was great stuff. Santana gets the big win and gives him even more credibility as a fighting champ. Also sets up an inevitable Funk/Lawler feud which is always money. I think Taylor was better off staying in the back. Thanks to him, Flair was able to pull it off and win the KOTR. And now, Taylor has an angry giant to worry about. Flair giving another epic promo was a fitting end to an amazing night. Flair and Santana are going to tear it up at SummerSlam! Props to you and all your hard work. The match write ups were well detailed and so realistic. The commentary was spot on as well as the promos. Not to mention the creative storylines going on. Well done!
  11. Seattle Showdown! Here we go! 1991, grunge capitol, only fitting to have a local act kick things off. This band has potential Windham and the Gunns win the first battle but this war's just begun Headbangers and Thrillseekers love to party but when the bell rings it's all business One thing I love about this game is feuds like Slaughter and Condrey Douglas is on the rise again After that high profile win over Awesome, Bigelow deserves a title shot Nicely played Alex Wright. Dreamer might be on the verge of losing it I don't think anything can stop the Macho Man. OOOHHHH YEA! PCO had his working boots on but RVD was just one step ahead Oh man, there's nothing more frightening than an unhinged Severn Props to Coast to Coast on a solid run but man I'm happy to see one of my favorite teams regain the titles. Kid dethrones Liger in an absolute thriller. What a way to end night 1 Night 2, this should be good Nothing wrong with kicking things off with a competitive draw between 2 hungry teams I've got to hand it to Richards, he got focused and gets a big win on a big show Son's get a most satisfying win especially with Sandman putting Vito down Eddie's on an incredible streak and tonight he shows the world he's a serious contender Sabu's nuts but man he's fun to watch I believe the OWC are about to go on a terror Finlay sure came to fight but my main man Busick retains. Busick's been the man in this world Who would've thought that after everything they've been through, Piper and Candido would have such great chemistry. This one's going to sting for the Playboy Club Retaining over a submission technician like Malenko proves Regal's on his A game WOW! Williams ends Dibiase's reign of terror and sends him packing. It appears the Collective feel they're better off without him. Big moment for sure Awwwww man, I hated to see Iron and Steel's reign come to an end but I'll admit it's cool seeing the Midnights rise up again This is the showdown I've been waiting for. Hart was all business and had one heck of a game plan. Hart was always a step ahead and I thought he had it. Until the chaos. A superkick by Adams followed by a Kawada brainbuster, damn! Kawada has been built up so well that he really did deserve this. The question now is who can stop this wrecking machine??? One of the best events of the year. Great job!
  12. AWA @ The Roy Wilkins Auditorium, St. Paul MN 5-30-91 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to a special Saturday edition of AWA Major League Wrestling from right here in St. Paul Minnesota. As everybody knows, night 2 of WrestleRock will be held in the close by Metrodome. Things were wild in Puerto Rico last night and I assume more is in store for tonight. The immortal Hulk Hogan will be here tonight. Gerry Morrow promised he'll be here as well. Ok, let's get to the action. 'Tidal Wave' Tommy Jammer vs. Franklyn Jay Jammer fires up the crowd with high octane offense and gets the win with the California Splash. Jammer cuts a promo and says he can feel WrestleRock's vibes and doesn't care who his opponent is but wants on the card. Commercial Break We see footage from last week as a returning Tully Blanchard helps Tommy Rich defeat the Magnificent Muraco. Nelson: Joining me now are Tommy Rich along with Tully Blanchard. Massive boos! Nelson: I thought I saw the last of you Tully Blanchard Rich: Did somebody say something about Tully Blanchard (laughs) You thought wrong dummy! Now show some respect, shut up and let Tully talk. Tully: Muraco! Did you really think I would never return again? Oh no! You need to pay for what you did. You were a big part of why the Horsemen are no longer around. You think I would forget that? It's payback time and I've got the man who hates you just as much as I do. Tell them Tommy. Rich: Muraco, all you do is cause problems. You don't mind your own business. I watched you pal around with Chump Hogan and fight his battles with the Horsemen. Then you get in my business because of your stupid friend Hogan. Big mistake! You're looking at two men who hate your guts and are going to rid the AWA of you once and for all. It felt so good piledriving your fat head on that chair last week. And I'd love to do it again, if you're stupid enough to come back for more. Tully: He's stupid alright and I can't wait to slap all that stupid out of him. You're finished Muraco! Commercial Break Once again Scott Norton is in the ring pacing around an arm wrestling table. Ted Arcidi grabs the mic Arcidi: Week after week, the Flash mows them down. Well, it looks like he's scared everybody off because nobody wants to arm wrestle him this week. What a bunch of scared bums. Ok, one last chance. Are there any gutless wimps in the back up for the task? Norton flexes as Arcidi waits. The fans cheer as The Missouri Tiger hits the ring. He rips off his football jersey and says "Let's do this!" Arcidi laughs at him. Norton's veins bulge as he yells "Come on!" Both men set up. The Ref sets his hands on theirs then releases. Both men's muscles bulge as they lock up and go for it. Norton gets the advantage as Arcidi cheers him on. The fans rally Tiger. Tiger feels their energy and starts to get the upper hand. Arcidi nails Tiger with a punch! Norton pulls Tiger over the table and starts pounding on him. Norton grabs Tiger and slams his head on the table. Norton picks up Tiger and slams him through the table! My goodness! Arcidi is yelling and pumping Norton up. Norton looks down at Tiger and flexes. Commercial Break We see Greg Gagne in front of a wrestling ring Gagne: For months I've traveled the world looking for my ace wrestler. It wasn't easy and this was the hardest thing I've ever gone through but after all that intense worldwide scouting, I have finally found my ace. This man deserves a grand reception and next week he will get it. My ace is coming to the AWA and this man is going to change the entire wrestling landscape. Trust me. Commercial Break Nelson: I'm here with Austin Idol. Austin, where's Gary Young? Idol: It goes like this darling. I turned three underachievers into 6-Man champions and then they blew it. And then, I give Gary Young an opportunity of a lifetime and what happened? That idiot fumbled the ball big time. Well, Austin Idol's looking for a sure bet. From now on, I'm going to manage someone who deserves it. Someone who's been around. Someone who's reliable and dependable. I'm talking about this someone, the Superstar Bill Dundee. Now check this out. 'Superstar' Bill Dundee w/Austin Idol vs. Kyle West Austin's having a great time as Dundee works over his opponent then finishes things off with the Bombs Away. Austin looks into the camera "That's how it's done" Commercial Break Nelson: Ok, I'm here with the Big Bossman. I know you've heard the threats from Nell and the Hangman. Bossman: All they are is empty threats to me. If they want... Boos as Nell walks out Nell: Big Bossman, I assure you these threats are very real and your day is coming. Bossman: You see, I back up what I say. I said you would be under arrest if you trespassed. It looks to me that you're in violation which means you're under arrest! The fans are up and cheering as Bossman handcuffs Nell to the ropes. Bossman twirls his nightstick. WHAM! Hangman clotheslines Bossman from behind! Hangman pounds away on Bossman. Hangman hurls Bossman into the ring. Hangman follows, picks up Bossman and delivers a hangman's neckbreaker! Hangman picks up his noose and wraps it around Bossman's neck. Hangman hurls Bossman over the top rope and starts hanging him! Security and officials run in to stop the madness. Commercial Break Bobby Blaze vs. Carl Kellerman A lot of chaos tonight but luckily Blaze gets things somewhat back to normal with a solid wrestling performance. Blaze gets the pin with a Northern Lights Suplex. Commercial Break We see a video set to Rush's Tom Sawyer. Kerry Von Erich looks like Conan the Barbarian as he rides a horse shirtless. It shows Kerry pumping iron, running and highlights of in ring action. 'The Modern Day Warrior' Kerry Von Erich vs. Dontae McAdams The fans give a tremendous pop as Kerry finishes the match with his discus punch! Nelson: Kerry, I know you have your sights set on the world title and I'm sure you'll get that opportunity soon. Kerry: I couldn't be happier for my good friend Carlos Colon. Kerry Von Erich will be waiting patiently. In the meantime I'm ready for anything and anybody. Just sign your name on the dotted line and you got a match with me. Commercial Break We see the Ultimate Warrior standing in front of a desert background " The time has come! Next week my mission will be revealed. The start of my quest to become the one and true Ultimate Warriorrrrrrrrrrrr! Commercial Break Larry Neslon is standing in the ring Nelson: Please welcome out the immortal Hulk Hogan! Eye of the Tiger hits and the place goes bananas! Hogan has one determined look on his face as he enters the ring. He gives his fans a thumbs up. Nelson: Hulk, I know you're still a little banged up from what went down at Title Night. How are you holding up? Will you be ready for Gerry Morrow and the cage at WrestleRock? Hogan: Well you know something Lethal Larry. Every time I hear the name Gerry Morrow I get sick to my stomach. There's a rage that burns inside me. A rage that's never been there. A rage that Gerry Morrow has brought. It's one thing that he can't do things on his own and has his Japanese henchmen take me down but it's another to degrade, humiliate and embarrass Hulk Hogan and all my Hulkamaniacs. Nuclear heat as Gerry Morrow, Jumbo Tsuruta, Mr. Saito and Shinya Hashimoto walk to the ring. They all enter. Nelson: Ok, slow down. Not tonight. Morrow: AHHHHHH relax Larry. I'm here in peace. (looks at Hogan) I gave you a choice last week Mr. Hogan. De rumor is you might be leaving de AWA. You and I both know, you will not make it to WrestleRock (motions to the Japanese) So, why don't you salvage any dignity you have left and just leave right now. In fact, we will indeed have a toast to de end of Hulkamania. Be smart Mr. Hogan, I will not offer you dis deal again. Hogan looks around and processes all this. Morrow: Mr. Hogan, I'm growing very impatient. And so are my clients. Hogan: Morrow! You can take your ultimatum and shove it where the sun don't shine! Mega pop! The Japanese walk towards Hogan. Morrow tells them to wait. Morrow: You're a foolish man Mr. Hogan. I'm a nice guy so I will allow you last words to your fans before we end Hulkamania right here, tonight. Hogan: Well you know something Gerry Morrow, I will be at WrestleRock and you will have to deal with me. And I mean you and you all alone. You see, I talked to some guys who are looking for a fight and they want a fight right now! The place goes bonkers as Demolition hit the ring and start hammering away on the Japanese! Hogan punches Morrow several times. Morrow stumbles back through the ropes. Morrow's all over the place as he staggers and falls down several times. Demolition clean house. Hogan and Demolition stand tall in the ring. Morrow's face is pale and looks like he's going to pass out. Hogan grabs the mic "Gerry Morrow! Whatcha gonna do inside the cage at WrestleRock, when Hulk Hogan runs wild on youuuuuuuuuuuuuu!"
  13. AWA TV @ The Hector Sola Bezares Coliseum, Caguas Puerto Rico 5-29-91 Ken Resnick: Hello everybody and welcome to this very special TV edition of AWA Major League Wrestling from Puerto Rico. Joining me now is the AWA Commissioner Magnum TA. Magnum: Thank you very much Ken. As we all found out last week, night 1 of WrestleRock will take place at Hiram Bithorn Stadium, right here in Puerto Rico. So, of course we had to give these great fans a televised episode as well. Tonight, we'll see the huge world title contract signing between champ, Kokina and challenger, Carlos Colon. I'll be out here later with more exciting news, but right now I know these fans want to see some action. Resnick: (smiling) Ok, let's get to the ring. Chicky Starr vs. Harold Bannister Chicky makes his return to the AWA tonight and the fans here aren't thrilled to see him. Chicky's arrogance never leaves as he dominates his opponent and wins the match with a corkscrew elbow drop. Resnick announces that Chicky Starr will be on the commentary team at WrestleRock. Chicky cuts a promo in Spanish and says Puerto Rico can't have a big event like WrestleRock without the great Chicky Starr there. The world will get to hear his iconic voice at WrestleRock. Commercial Break The Cobra vs. Neil Jordan Cobra gives the fans a lot of fast paced offense. During the match, the Vin Man and Art Barr are standing in the aisle scouting. Cobra gives them a great visual as he hits the frog splash for the win. Vinnie and Barr give Cobra a mock clap. Barr is heard saying "He better stop using my move" Commercial Break Maxx Payne and his guitar Norma Jean walk over to Resnick. Payne: The suspension is over and the Payne is back. Time to rock! Payne starts jamming on his guitar. It looks like it's a little too loud for Resnick, so he backs up. Payne continues to jam into the commercial break. Commercial Break Payne is still jamming away as Resnick stands on the other side of the ring, Resnick: Fans, next up will be the much- anticipated return of former AWA world champion, Bad News Brown. Brown heads down the aisle, clenching his fists. He walks by Payne and gives him a threatening look. This distraction causes Payne to mess up. Brown heads towards the ring. WHAM! Payne whacks the back of Brown's with the guitar! Resnick: My goodness! What the hell did he do that for?! We need help out here! Payne smiles down at an unconscious Brown. The fans boo as Security runs out and backs a smiling Payne away. Moments later, medics put a neckbrace on Brown and stretcher him out. Commercial Break It's dark and then we see a fire light up. The Tribal Nation sit near the fire with war paint on. Chris: We had lost our way but now we have been guided back. Mark: We no longer give. We no longer accept defeat. Chris: We take and we win! The flames shoots up Los Boricuas vs. Todd Rooney and Ray Glader The home fans cheer throughout the match as Los Boricuas give them a fun showcase. Perez slams Rooney as Castillo hits a slingshot splash for the win. Resnick informs Los Boricuas that they will face Rampage at WrestleRock right here in Puerto Rico. This pumps up Los Boricuas and the fans. Commercial Break Magnum TA comes back out. Magnum: This was supposed to be a fun night and I was looking forward to watching former world champ Bad News Brown in action but Maxx Payne had to ruin it all. Brown's been taken to the hospital and I'll be heading over soon. Rest assured I'll deal with Maxx Payne. (settles down) Ok, back to WrestleRock. It's been decided that at WrestleRock, Konnan and Leo Burke will wrestle for the vacated International title. I think the right two men were chosen and it should be a damn good match up and I look forward to crowning a new International champion. May the best man win. And now I have some exciting news especially for these great fans here in Puerto Rico. What would WrestleRock be without some celebrities. Get ready because Hector 'Macho' Camacho is coming to WrestleRock! (Huge pop) And as tradition goes, following WrestleRock will be a concert. Performing after the matches will be none other than the legend himself Jose Feliciano! (The fans go wild) Resnick: Unbelievable! What a historic night it will be right here in Puerto Rico! We then go to a video of a Heavenly Bodies photo shoot. UFO's Too Hot to Handle plays as we see the Heavenly Bodies in full on model treatment. They're all smiles and full of arrogance as they take pictures with both sets of titles. These guys are having the time of their lives and are loving every minute of it. Commercial Break AWA TV Champ Gama Singh vs. Trent Watkins Gama's well known in these parts and gets a great reaction from the fans. Gama wears his opponent down and wins the match with the Indian Deathlock. Resnick: Gama, you've been a man of your word and have defended your TV title against all comers... BOOOS as Iceman Parsons and Jackie walk out. Jackie: Listen up Gama and listen real good! Parsons: You talk about defending your title against all comers well boy you have yet to defeat me. I hold the wins over you and I want what I deserve! Another title shot! I've got your number so let's see if you've got the guts. Gama: I'll make this real easy for you. You want another shot at this (holds up the title) you got it! Things start to get heated but Magnum comes out again. Magnum: I agree, let's make this real easy. The TV title match is on and it will happen at WrestleRock! Jackie: Kiss your title goodbye! Parsons: You can't beat me and you know it! That there title is all mine! Gama: This title will stay right here...with me! Commercial Break El Canek and Mil Mascaras vs. Arnie Goldstein and Warren Coolidge The fans get more thrills. Canek puts Coolidge down with a bicycle kick and tags in Mascaras. Mascaras goes to the top rope. Coolidge staggers up as Mascaras nails him with a flying press for the win. Resnick announces that on June 6th at the Mecca in Milwaukee, there will be a tag team battle royal and the winners will get a world tag team title shot at WrestleRock. Commercial Break Resnick: Ok, with me now are the former AWA world tag team champs, Ron Garvin and Dick Slater. Gentlemen, I really hope you two can work this out. Garvin: Ok Dick, what the hell was that all about? Slater: What the hell do you think? You don't think I know you punched me on purpose. Garvin: What, you think because you accidentally punched me a few weeks ago that I hit you on purpose at Title Night? We lost the world titles! You think I wanted that? Slater: Damn right we lost the titles! We had it all and because of you, we lost it all! And I'll tell you this, if that's all you got, you're in serious trouble because it ain't much! Garvin: I wouldn't say that because when you hit me we didn't lose the titles but when you got punched, we lost the titles. Looks to me like I'm the one who can take a punch. Slater's pissed Slater: Well then, it looks like we have a problem. Garvin: Yea, I guess we do Slater: Then let's settle this like men. Meet me in Milwaukee on June 6th and we can settle this in the ring. No excuses, tougher man wins. Garvin: If that's the only way to resolve this, fine by me. Both men storm off as Resnick looks disappointed Commercial Break Ken Resnick stands in the middle of the ring with a small table beside him. Resnick: Fans, at WrestleRock, on night one, right here in Puerto Rico, Kokina will defend the AWA world title against Carlos Colon. In my hand is the official contract for that bout. Right now, I need both men's signature. If Carlos Colon can come on out. Colon gets a standing ovation as he heads into the ring. He shakes Resnick's hand and pumps his fists to the fans. He quickly signs the contract. Resnick: I'm sure you have a lot to say to all your fans Carlos. Colon gives a passionate promo in both Spanish and English Colon: My goal has always been to become world champion. I know in my heart that this is the right time. I've never been more prepared, determined and focused in my life! The best part of all is I get this tremendous opportunity in front of all my beloved fans, friends and family. I love you Puerto Rico and I promise to bring the AWA world title home! The fans give Colon a massive ovation. Resnick: Ok, thank you very much Carlos. Now, would Adnan Al-Kassie and the world champion Kokina come out. Adnan leads Kokina to the ring. Kokina has the world title on his shoulder. They enter the ring. Kokina stares daggers at Colon while punching the title. Kokina hands the belt to Adnan and signs the contract. Adnan: It is very clear to me that the powers that be in the AWA are favoring one Carlos Colon. (looks at Colon) Your wars mean nothing to us! You have never faced anyone like Kokina. Kokina will destroy and annihilate you in front of all your beloved fans, friends and family. You have shed blood many times Colon and at WrestleRock, you will not only bleed but you will be broken. By signing this contract, you have sealed your fate. Let me show you exactly what I mean! Kokina grabs Colon from behind and headbutts him! Resnick gets out of there. Adnan tells Kokina to punish him. Kokina swings Colon into the corner and goes for a corner splash but Colon moves. The fans go nuts as Colon unloads on Kokina with punches! Adnan tries to escape but Colon grabs him. Colon knocks Kokina and Adnan's heads together. Adnan falls through the ropes. Kokina's staggering. Colon swings off the ropes and clotheslines Kokina. The fans are going crazy as Colon does a cartwheel and pumps his fists! See you tomorrow for our special TV episode from Minnesota
  14. I would definitely check this out on Youtube Tankman and Holiday earned their way to the finals with some big wins The Good Brothers and Mickie James are well established so smart move putting them over on your first big event I was glad to see the Andersons win the titles. Just the name Anderson means so much in wrestling. Looking forward to their run Hammerstoner's a wanted man now. He costs Tankman big time. Holiday's a good choice as your first champ. He has that IT factor and I think will be a good draw. Looks like SMW off and running now.
  15. WCW was already super hot. Luger's return elevates things even more. Him and Sid will be money. The Dangerous Alliance make their goals known The tag team division is insane. Doom better get on the same page. York with Tenryu is very interesting. An International York Foundation would be so cool. Undertaker keeps moving up Despite all the dysfunction, Hayes and Morton keep hanging on to the titles Fun main event. I'm looking forward to Pillman and Zbyszko battling over the TV title. Hall's been built up to be a very credible world title contender. Him and Sting will give the fans a good one
  16. The VHS tape is a nice touch. Brings back memories Gordy's the way to go. He brings automatic credibility to the title and has a lot of guys to draw with. He already has a ready to go program with Orndorff. The behind the scenes finance figures were very interesting. I like that your putting effort into this and looking at the business side of things. From everything I've heard, this is all pretty spot on as far as how territories worked. Of course, I would say getting TV exposure is top priority. You have known names and people will tune in to watch and show up at bigger arenas due to televised promotions. It might take a little time but I believe SMW could be molded into something big.
  17. The Smoking Gunns put in a solid showcase Man, I'm loving heel Martel. So much potential here The Playboy Club certainly has acquired some serious muscle You are the best at rebuilding a wrestler. Douglas is more proof of that. Richards helps his buddy Scotty get a nice win. These guys do make a good team Loved that Bigelow/Sabu match up and the way Bigelow knew he had to put Sabu down with everything he had LA Piper has finally gotten through to Candido. I hope the Playboy Club are ready Lee's looking to put the terror factor back in Dibiase's group Sons and Dudley's end in the way I thought it would No doubt about it, Kawada's ready for his shot Busick puts another one down. I agree, he just might be the most dominant TV champ our game has seen Hart and Condrey give the fans an epic classic. I wonder if Hart has enough left for Kawada Santa Barbara I always liked when a draw was thrown in from time to time. Just a solid and competitive match Money Train look good with the win over the Headbangers Finlay's back on the rise while Blackman has fallen on hard times. However, like I said before, never write a wrestler off in PCW No shame for Richards losing to a former 2 time champ in Windham. I would like to see Windham go for the title one more time I'm sure Regal loved wiping that smirk off Wright's face and making him submit Dreamer puts in a fight but RVD finishes things off with another exciting visual
  18. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 5-22-91 Highlights are shown from Title Night in Winnipeg. Larry Nelson: Hello everyone and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. We have a loaded show for you tonight. Tommy Rich takes on The Magnificent Muraco. The British Bombers clash with current rivals, the Guerreros. Speaking of rivalries, the Rock n Roll RPMs will face TCB. I also understand that Gerry Morrow will be here tonight. So much going on, so let's get down to business. Please welcome out the AWA Commissioner Magnum TA. Cheers as Magnum walks out wearing his jeans and leather jacket. He's also holding the AWA International title. Nelson: Magnum, the road to WrestleRock is in full swing and I know you have a lot to talk about. Magnum: Thank you very much Larry and I sure do. I promised you at Title Night that I would reveal the stadium site for night 1 of WrestleRock. And I will. However, before I get to that I need to address the AWA International Title. As we all saw, Carlos Colon has relinquished this title for a shot at the world title. I mentioned that the timing couldn't be better. The stadium that's been chosen to host night 1 of WrestleRock will be Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan Puerto Rico. So, on that note, Carlos Colon will get his AWA world title shot in his homeland at WrestleRock. Nelson: Wow! Incredible. I have to say, Carlos Colon has definitely earned this moment for all he's contributed to the AWA. Magnum: I couldn't agree more Larry. The AWA world title bout between Kokina and Carlos Colon will headline night 1 and the great fans in Puerto Rico deserve to see their hero get his opportunity. Now, while we're talking about WrestleRock. Next week, to really get in the spirit of things, the fans will be treated to 2 televised specials. One will take place at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul Minnesota while the other will be held in the Hector Sola Bezares Coliseum in Puerto Rico. We will have the official AWA world title WrestleRock contract signing in Puerto Rico next week. As far as this International title goes, I will make my decision within a couple weeks but I can tell you that a new champion will be crowned at WrestleRock. Ok, one last thing regarding Gerry Morrow's actions at Title Night. I spoke to Hulk Hogan and of course he's still pretty banged up but he told me he will be on next week's TV show from Minnesota with a special message for one Gerry Morrow. Larry, thank you for this time, I know that was a lot to process. Nelson: (smiling) It was indeed. Fans, I've never been more excited for an event than this year's WrestleRock. We'll be right back. Commercial Break The Big Bossman vs. Carl Kellerman Bossman has definitely gotten over with the AWA fans as they pop big when he hits the sidewalk slam for the win. Nelson askes Bossman about Nell's presence a couple weeks ago. Bossman: He can play all the mind games he wants but if he trespasses in my ring, he's going to serve hard time! Commercial Break The Rock n Roll RPMs vs. TCB w/Jackie These teams have been going at it all over the loop and it shows tonight as they go back and forth with intensity. RPMs control a segment with crisp moves and quick tags. They almost get the win with a double snap suplex/stereo elbow drops but Jones saves his partner. Later, thanks to a distraction by Jackie, TCB takes control and works over Davis with classic heel moves and double teaming. Jones nails Davis with a gut punch as Walker hits a sunset flip but Lane breaks the pin attempt. It isn't long before chaos breaks loose. The Ref does all he can but eventually signals for a double DQ. The teams keep fighting into the commercial break Commercial Break We see the desolate town again. The Hangman is standing there gripping his noose. The camera pans over to Nell. Nell: I think it's very obvious that we have chosen the Big Bossman as our next poor soul. The Bossman claims to be the law and order in the AWA. However, I beg to differ. There's only one man that serves justice here in the AWA and that's the Hangman. Justice will be served on you Bossman because around here, the Hangman is judge, jury and executioner. Your time is coming Bossman. Hangman grips his noose harder. We come back and see the arm wrestling table set up. A muscular man name Lynn Tucker waits in the ring. Ted Arcidi grabs the mic from Nelson. Arcidi: It's time to watch the Flash in action again. Watch how fast Scotty puts this bum down! Scott Norton gets in the ring. He quickly locks hands with his opponent. The Ref says go and Norton slams Tucker's arm down! Arcidi: Nice! Ok Scotty, get that bum out of your ring! Norton grabs Tucker by his hair and hurls him over the top rope. Norton's veins bulge as he flexes. Commercial Break Rampage vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez Before Rampage gets to the ring, Los Boricuas attack them from behind! They hurl Morgan over the guard railing and double slam Equalizer on the concrete. Los Boricuas are heard yelling "You didn't know who you were messing with!" Commercial Break We see Bad News Brown standing on a street corner "The time for talking is over! I'm coming back next week and that's a lot of bad news for anybody that stands in my way!" We then go to a night club and see the Heavenly Bodies sitting at a table surrounded by beautiful women. Both sets of AWA tag titles are on the table. Prichard and Del Ray talk about how it's been a week long party and they've decided to go on a celebration tour. They feel as both world champions and National champions, this is well deserved. Larry Nelson: It appears that the new world tag team champions, Heavenly Bodies are more focused on celebrating than the actual titles themselves. Speaking of that, I understand that Dick Slater and Ron Garvin will be here next week to air out their issues. I really hope they can. Commercial Break The British Bombers vs. The Guerreros These teams have been trading wins, going to double countouts and double disqualifications all over the globe. One thing is certain, both teams can wrestle and tonight they put on a tag team clinic. Bombers go all out with power moves by Smith and aggressive technical wrestling by Tony. Guerreros show off their tag team expertise with solid double team maneuvers, take downs and submission holds. The match goes back and forth and both teams have their working boots on. Smith hits a superplex on Chavo but Hector breaks it with a knee drop. Tony charges in and nails Hector with a running European uppercut. The Ref finally gets control and guides Tony back. Chavo misses a clothesline on Smith, Smith swings off the ropes and hits a Thesz Press, Chavo holds on while falling back as Hector (from the apron) grabs Smith's head and snaps it on the top rope. Chavo covers as the Ref runs over and counts 1...Chavo pulls the tights for more leverage..2...3! Guerreros win a battle. We see Maxx Payne jamming on a guitar. He stops and gives an evil grin "Me and Norma Jean got a new song called the Payne Game and I'm going to play it when I return next week. Payne's coming back and nobody's safe" Maxx starts jamming again. Commercial Break We see highlights from Title Night as the Japanese triple powerbomb Hulk Hogan and hold him while Gerry Morrow headbutts Hogan and pours champagne over his head, then spits champagne in his face. Larry Nelson's standing in the ring and he doesn't look enthused Nelson: Coming out now is Gerry Morrow along with Jumbo Tsuruta, Mr. Saito, Shinya Hashimoto and Brenda Britton. Everybody is wearing a suit. Brenda's in a sparkling dress. Gerry's got on his white suit, sunglasses and fedora. They enter the ring. The Japanese are stoic. Brenda's all smiles. Gerry lets the boos reign down on him as he gives the fans a bow. Nelson: You and your henchmen may have gotten the best of Hulk Hogan at Title Night but you still have to face him in the cage at WrestleRock. Oh and without any of your henchmen. Morrow: AHAHAHAHA, do I look worried Mr. Nelson? Let us be real. How many times have I gotten de best of Hulk Hogan? I've lost count. Nelson: Ok, well, let's not forget about that beating he gave you at Champagne Slam. How many days were you in the hospital again? Brenda snags the mic Britton: Alright Larry! Beat it! I gave you a chance but you're being rude and disrespectful! So, get lost loser! Nelson: (mutters) My pleasure Britton watches Larry leave with a distain look on her face. The Japanese make Larry nervous with their menacing glares. Britton: Ok Gerry, please continue Morrow: AHHHHHHH, thank you Brenda. Now, let us look at de history of Hulk Hogan. He blames me for not winning de world title at SuperClash. So, what does he do? He brings up ridiculous, outrageous and false allegations against me. He failed miserably to win de world title at Champagne Slam and again, he blames me. Then, he violently attacks me. De man should be in jail for assault. Hulk Hogan is nothing but a crybaby. Well, if he even makes it to WrestleRock, I will make him cry and beg for sure. He cannot deal with me in de cage. He cannot handle what I have in store for him. Mr. Hogan, why don't you just quit now. Save yourself de humiliation I will put you through at WrestleRock in de cage. You say you will be here next week. Show up and publicly apologize. We can then be civil and even have a toast to de end of Hulkamania. You can leave de AWA without any further embarrassment. De choice is all yours. Britton: There you have it. It all happens here. You better make the right decision Hulk Hogan or else. Until next week, tooooodles. Commercial Break Nelson reminds us of the 2 TV specials next week airing from Minnesota and Puerto Rico. Hulk Hogan will be in Minnesota while the AWA world title WrestleRock contract signing will take place in Puerto Rico with world champ Kokina and number one contender Carlos Colon. The Magnificent Muraco vs. 'Wildfire' Tommy Rich The bell rings and fists are flying. These guys fight in and out and all around the ring. On the outside, Muraco gets the upper hand, slams Rich's head on the apron and hurls him back into the ring. Muraco goes to the top rope. Rich staggers up and Muraco drops a double axhandle on him 1..2..kick out. Muraco puts his knee on Rich's chest, pulls Rich's head up by his hair and pounds away on his head. Rich is busted open. Muraco picks Rich up, Rich takes a wild swing, Muraco ducks and atomic drops Rich. Rich collides into the Ref and the Ref goes down. Muraco hoists Rich up for his inverted piledriver WHAM! Muraco's hit from behind with a steel chair by TULLY BLANCHARD! Tully revives Rich. Tully hits Muraco again with the chair. Tully sets the chair down. Rich staggers over and hoists Muraco up and piledrives him down on the chair! Tully wakes up the Ref. The Ref crawls over and counts 1..2..3! The show ends with the fans booing as Tully and Rich laugh and hug over a fallen Muraco.
  19. The Most Marketable Man does a remarkable move to advance over Thom I'm liking the Andersons. Glad they made it too the finals My guy James Storm gets to the semis but tough match ahead with Holiday Volunteer Slam will be a non stop night of action. Can't wait to see who becomes champions
  20. Man, the Cuban Assassin really has a thing for Tasha. Good thing Morton always saves the day. I can't imagine where the Cuban Assassin wants to take her Tasha must be in total disarray. She's dealing with the Cuban Assassin while the Nightmares keep getting the best of her men.
  21. TNT have quickly gotten over Poor Orndorff standing there as the Southern Boys pick Gordy. The Southern Boys have good logic but I have a feeling Orndorff wont let this go. Oh man, Wright and IRS are made for each other. I'll give Wright his props, the man can cut a promo Austin won't let anybody stand in his way of winning the tournament Destruction Crew and TNT get some heat going for the tag tournament. Killer Kyle has an impressive debut. Southern Boys and Gordy shine in the main event as Orndorff seems to have calmed down...for now The puzzle pieces are all coming together.
  22. Damn, what an opening segment. Jake's out of KOTR. Nailz is in. Lawler and Santana brawl. Then Terry Funk returns! Loved that promo! Funk is what Monday Night Raw is all about. I've been looking forward to Titan defending against Spivey. Smart move getting Hart's men their heat back Andre beating up 4 men shows how really pissed off he is. I would hate to be the guy that did this to Jake when Andre finds out. Flair gives a great promo about being innocent but still doesn't feel bad for Jake. Great job with Taylor tonight. He pays to get a win but later it backfires with Snuka. It's cool seeing Snuka get a high profile match on pay per view. With all that's going on, KOTR will be a must see event.
  23. AWA Title Night 5-16-91 Winnipeg Arena Ken Resnick: Hello fans and welcome to AWA Title Night, right here on the SCA network. You'll see four big title bouts. AWA International Title Bout Carlos Colon (C) vs. 'Gorgeous' Gary Young w/Austin Idol Colon is razor sharp and focused tonight while Young seems distracted and conflicted. Idol shows looks of frustration every time Colon takes Young down. Colon just overwhelms Young with arm drags, hip tosses, takedowns, and hard hitting shots. Young manages to get in a few bright spots but can't get any serious momentum going. Young completely misses a clothesline off the ropes, Colon swings back and hits Young with a flying body press 1..2..3! The fans cheer as Colon holds up his International title. Colon takes a long look at his title before exiting. Young gets to his knees. He looks out at Idol. Idol gives him a sheer look of utter disappointment before walking up the aisle, leaving Young along in the ring. Winner of the Match and STILL AWA International Champ- Carlos Colon AWA TV Title Bout Gama Singh (C) vs. Iceman Parsons w/Jackie Jackie tries to distract Gama when the bell rings but Gama doesn't fall for it and sees Parsons coming at him. Gama quickly turns around and back drops Parsons. The first few minutes is all Gama. Gama scores several near falls as Parsons barely hangs in there. Things change when Jackie trips Gama coming off the ropes. Gama falls as Parsons drops an elbow on the top of Gama's head. Gama Singh retains the TV title Resnick is at ringside with AWA Commissioner Magnum TA Resnick: Welcome Magnum. Things are already getting heated here at Title Night. Magnum: I want Mr. Parsons to know, that his behavior is unacceptable and he will return the TV title immediately. Enough said. Resnick: Very good. Ok, Magnum, switching gears, I know you have some information regarding WrestleRock. Magnum: Yes I do Ken. As you know, night 2 of WrestleRock will take place in the Metrodome. Well, night 1's location has been sealed. Cheers as Carlos Colon walks out. Colon: Commissioner Magnum, I'm very sorry to interrupt you like this but may I please have a moment of your time? Magnum: Sure thing Carlos, what's on your mind? Colon: Magnum, it has been my upmost honor and privilege to have held this International title. I come to you in a bittersweet moment. I feel this is the right time and I must do this. (pauses and looks down at his title) Magnum, I know the rules and I would like to officially relinquish my International title and use my number one contender right to officially request a world title opportunity. The crowd applauds Colon. Resnick and Magnum are a bit taken back. Colon hands Magnum the International title. Magnum looks at the title, then at Colon. Magnum: (pauses) Carlos, are you absolutely sure you want to do this? Colon: I've never been more sure about anything in my life. Magnum: (smiles and nods) Fair enough. (keeps smiling) The timing couldn't be better. Carlos, why don't you come with me. I have something very interesting to talk to you about. (looks at Resnick) Ken, next week on TV, I'll announce WrestleRock's night 2 location. Don't worry, this will all fall into place. Magnum and Colon walk to the back. Resnick: (awed look) Ok, talk about a curveball! Very bold move by Carlos Colon. I'm sure we'll hear more about all this next week. You won't want to miss that. Fans, in case you forgot, this rule applies only for the world title and not the world tag team titles, which explains the next match coming up. AWA World Tag Team Title Bout Ron Garvin and Dick Slater (C) vs. AWA National Tag Champs, the Heavenly Bodies This one keeps the fans on the edge of their seats. Garvin and Slater control segments with their hard hitting, in your face style. The Heavenly Bodies have plenty of moments themselves with their in sync teamwork and high octane offense. The match goes back and forth with a few pier six brawls thrown in. Garvin slams Prichard and follows with the Garvin stomp. Garvin drops an elbow 1..2..Jimmy breaks it. Slater runs in and knocks Jimmy back. As the Ref guides Slater to his corner, Jimmy grabs Garvin from behind and hits an overhead suplex. Heavenly Bodies work over Garvin. They swing Garvin to the ropes and hit a double flapjack. Jimmy covers 1..2..Slater breaks it. Another brawl breaks loose. The Ref gets control. Garvin eventually tags in Slater. Slater goes to town on Jimmy and puts him down with a Russian Leg Sweep 1..2..Prichard breaks it. That brings in Garvin and more chaos ensues. During the melee Garvin accidently punches Slater. Slater goes down. Before Garvin can help Slater, Jimmy dropkicks Garvin through the ropes. Jimmy goes to the top rope. Slater staggers up as Prichard nails him with a back stabber. Jimmy follows with a moonsault 1..2..3!!! The Heavenly Bodies are celebrating big time. They grab both sets of titles and hold them up high. After more celebrating, they exit. I sincerely hope Slater and Garvin can patch things up. Ok fans! Joining me now, the immortal Hulk Hogan! The place goes bananas as eye of the tiger blasts! Hogan comes down the aisle wearing jeans and his Hulkamania T-Shirt and white headband. He gets in the ring and gives the fans some poses and thumbs up. Resnick: Wow Hulk, listen to these people. Hulk, we all know why you're here and what this is all about. At WrestleRock, it'll be you and Gerry Morrow, inside the steel cage. Now Hulk, before we get to that, I have to ask. There's a lot of talk behind the scenes and rumors are running rampant that WrestleRock could indeed be your last match here in the AWA. Hulk's look turns serious as he looks around at the crowd. Hulk: Well you know something Killer Ken, you're right, there's been a lot going down behind the scenes brother. Nothing is set in stone yet. However, I can guarantee all my Hulkamaniacs this. At WrestleRock, last match or not, Hulkamania is going to put down that no good, coward Gerry Morrow for good! That's a sworn promise by Hulk Hogan brother! So, Gerry Morrow, whatcha gonna do when there's nowhere to run, nowhere to hide and Hulkamania runs wild on youuuuuuuuu! The crazy cheers turn to boos as Brenda Britton enters the ring. Britton: Hi everybody! (looks at Hogan) What makes you so confident? Who says you're even going to make it to WrestleRock? At that point, Jumbo Tsuruta, Mr. Saito and Shinya Hashimoto enter the ring. Brenda smiles and exits. Hogan knows what's up and starts unloading on all 3 men! Hogan punches away as the fans go nuts. However, the numbers are just too much. The Japanese take control and give Hogan a beating. They stomp down on Hogan and really put the boots to him. They lift him up and triple powerbomb him down! The crowd's in riot mode. The Japanese pick Hogan up again and deliver another triple powerbomb! The Japanese lift the lifeless Hogan up and hold him. The boos reign down as Gerry Morrow enters the ring. He invites Brenda into the ring. Gerry hands her a champagne bottle. Gerry slowly takes off his sunglasses and fedora hat. He takes off his suit jacket. The Japanese hold Hogan as Morrow smiles and walks over. Morrow slaps Hogan a few times, then hits him with 3 headbutts! Morrow snatches the mic. Morrow: AHHHHHHHH Hulk Hogan. If WrestleRock is to be your last match in de AWA, then I think it's fitting we have a toast. Brenda hands Morrow the champagne bottle. Morrow opens it. Morrow: A toast to de official end of Hulkamania Morrow pours the bottle of champagne over Hogan's head. Morrow takes a swig and spits it in Hogan's face. Security needs to come out and hold some rowdy fans back. The Japanese drop Hogan. Morrow puts his boot on Hogan's chest and holds the champagne bottle up. Commercial Break Resnick: (alarming look) What a gutless and despicable act by Gerry Morrow. That man has zero redeeming qualities and all I can say is I hope he really gets his comeuppance at WrestleRock. Just disgusting. 24. Rick Martel and The Dudley Boyz, wow who would have thought. This is going to be a lot of fun Both Kid and Bigelow are coming on strong Rose always has a contingency plan. Morley is a perfect fit for this group Hamrick gets his time to shine I'm really looking forward to watching Savage in PCW. He's already in a main event program with Dibiase, so I'm sure big things are in store for him The Smoking Gunns did come at the right time. Barry's got back up while the Thrillseekers can focus on gold Eddie's stock is skyrocketing Cow Palace After a bit of a slump, Douglas is back on the winning track Midnights are another team back in title contention Kawada's path of destruction continues Can't wait for Dibiase and Savage, one on one Iron and Steel keep a firm grip on the titles I would've loved to be in San Fran for that Hart/Condrey title bout Fresno Dragon kicks things off with a spectacular finish Big win for the FOJ especially with an unpredictable Sabu Severn is one guy you don't want to get cute with Bigelow remains hot Solid effort from the Money Train but Coast to Coast are in the zone right now RVD ekes out the win but Dreamer impresses Damn! Seattle Showdown is loaded! I've been waiting for the Hart/Kawada title bout. That's going to rock.
  25. The stage is perfectly set for Superbrawl! Hot 6-Man opener is the way to go. Babyfaces winning gets the crowd totally involved. The Orient Express have been looking strong on TV. Smart booking by giving the Steiners a credible win on pay per view I think the Mountie has had his last chance at the TV title. Loving Pillman's reign Ventura tried but I think there's even more US tag title confusion It's time! It's Vader time Hmmmmm looks like the York Foundation is going International Nikita looked strong but Hennig ekes out the win to retain Hall looks like a major threat Props to Josh for bringing the fight but Taker's not going down anytime soon Even in defeat, Dusty stays more over than ever in Florida. Rude putting down both Rhodes was a big visual The power teams collide again! Who will eventually come out on top Steamboat and Dustin get a big victory but the Dangerous Alliance get even more heat Luger returns and Sting wins the world title! What a way to end the show! Great Superbrawl follow up. Luger and Sid are clearly heading for a showdown as are Doom, the Steiners and RWs. I wonder if Ventura finally found a way to end the US tag title confusion. We'll find out next week. Love the idea of Zbyszko going after Pillman's TV title. I do believe Hall is ready for a world title shot.
