  1. All good with me
  2. USWA sends Johnny Valiant and DJ Peterson to the WWF in exchange for Siva Afi and Chick Donovan.
  3. Good set of first round matches. I really liked that Savage/Bruiser match up. Savage will be a major deal here. Cool seeing Butch Reed as a huge star in the game. His next match with Savage should be a good one. Windham vs. Duggan will be very interesting. Oh man Funk challenges Magnum for the title! Big money there.
  4. Damn good show! Woman's champ Devine will have her hands full as Sherri issues a challenge and Wendi Richter is coming in. Big news as titles will be unified. RnR vs. Super Destroyers and Rich vs Sawyer will be some solid matches to determine the North American Champs. The American Dream has a lot on his plate, teaming with Wahoo in the tournament and vowing to get the masks off MMM and Mr. USA. High Flyers qualify as does the dangerous team of Slater and Link. Man that tournament is stacked! What an ending! Stevens loses the match but goes 10 minutes with Dibiase! Dibiase shows his respect but it's short lived as he does a number on Stevens. Flair comes out with fury. The Dibiase/Flair title match has some real heat! Cant wait for Super Sunday!

Scores to Settle Preview This will be a closed circuit event from Market Square Arena on March 14th, 1985 Central States Tag Team Title Bout Bad Attitude (C) w/"Cool" Carl Fergie vs. The Goldmine Bad Attitude (Matt Borne and Gary Young) along with manager "Cool" Carl Fergie have been successfully defending their titles since they won them in a tournament. The Goldmine (Jerry Grey and Goldie Rogers) defeated the Oates to earn this match. Tony "Simply the Best" St. Clair w/Les Thornton vs. "The Technician" Mark Fleming Fleming was trained by the legendary Lou Thesz and has impressed fans with his wrestling skills. Les Thornton has been shown in pre recorded promos from the UK saying he's bringing in the best wrestler in the UK, Tony St. Clair. "Bronco" Bruce Hart vs. "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal w/Johnny Valiant This all started when Regal lost a TV title match to Rick Martel. An angry and frustrated Regal remained in the ring. Bruce Hart came out for his USWA debut and Regal attacked him and suplexed him on the concrete. These two have put on some solid matches. On the last TV show, Regal's manager Valiant slapped Hart and Hart beat him up and put him in the camel clutch. Valiant is questionable for Scores to Settle. The Naturals (George Wells and Brian Adias) vs. The Movement (Shaska Whatley and Tiger Conway) w/Sonny KIng Sonny KIng came in to help lead the Movement. They targeted Kerry Von Erich but Kerry's friends The Naturals got involved to even things up. The Movement showed how ruthless they could be when they viciously attacked and kicked out former member Roosevelt Jones. Things could of been a lot worse but the Naturals came out to stop the beating. These teams have been involved in some hate filled matches. Their match should be an explosive one at Scores to Settle. "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley vs. "The Memphis Mafia Man" Johnny Rich w/"Cool" Carl Fergie Cooley and Rich were to debut as a team but Rich was mysteriously absent during their debut. Rich finally showed up at the Central States Tag Tournament but ended up walking out on Cooley. Carl Fergie had gotten in the ear of Rich and the Memphis Mafia Man was born. Cooley and Rich have had some heated brawls on TV and have interfered in each other's matches. At Scores to Settle they will finally go at it one on one. TV Title Bout-No Time Limit Rick Martel (C) vs. Larry Zbyszko These guys have wrestled to several 10 minute draws with Larry spending most of the time stalling. Larry says this was all strategy. At Scores to Settle the time limit has been waved. Boot Camp Match Sgt. Slaughter vs. "Captain" Ron Slinker Slinker and all his henchmen did a number on Slaughter. Slaughter vowed to go through every man that attacked him until he got to Slinker. He did just that. Recently Slinker attacked Slaughter with nun chucks. Slinker says he will beat and humiliate Slaughter in the bootcamp match. Slaughter says Slinker's days are numbered and he's going to make that maggot suffer. Texas State Title Bout Tully Blanchard (C) w/Baby Doll vs. Mr. Olympia These guys have been involved in a hated feud since Baby Doll interfered in the battle royal which allowed Tully to win the title. Tully has barley escaped with his title during their matches. Tully said Scores to Settle is in Indiana and he doesn't have to put up the Texas Title. Olympia said put the title on the line and if I lose I'll leave the USWA. Things went to another level when Tully piledrived Olympia through a table! Olympia vows to be at Scores to Settle. Tully is laughing at him and says he's all talk and when he doesn't show up he'll have to leave the USWA. Central States Title Bout Kerry Von Erich (C) vs. Hercules Ayala w/Sonny KIng On a TV episode, Ayala joined the Movement and attacked Von Erich. Von Erich defended the title against Ayala and beat him with a cradle. Ayala gave Von Erich a vicious post match beating. Von Erich was out of action for a couple weeks. Ayala (The man who retired the Brass Knuckles title) has been steamrolling competition. Sonny King says Ayala is going to show Von Erich absolutely no mercy. Von Erich says he's going to settle this score and once again walk out with his title. Grudge Match Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Adrian Adonis This one started when Lawler and Nick Bockwinkel were wrestling in a title unification match. Adonis shocked everyone by interfering and DDT Lawler on a chair! Adonis called Lawler, Jerry Jarrett's puppet and wouldn't allow Lawler to have yet another title run. A couple weeks later, Lawler returned and these two have been brawling every since. Adonis says Lawler is nothing but a gutter rat and he's going to beat him down like he's never been beaten before. Lawler says he's not just going to win the match but he will make Adonis pay. USWA Tag Team Title Bout- Steel Cage! "Dream Machine" Troy Graham and "The Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol (C) vs. The Grapplers A few months ago, the Dream Machine tried to unmask Mr. Wrestling 2. The Grapplers stormed the ring and unmasked the Dream Machine! The Grapplers won the USWA tag titles but were attacked by the maskless Graham and Austin Idol. These teams wrestled for the titles. Graham wore his mask and loaded it with a foreign object to win the titles. In several rematches Graham and Idol have either walked out and lost by C.O. or got a cheap DQ. Jarrett announced at Scores to Settle the title bout will be in a cage. There will be nowhere to run or hide and there will defiantly be a clear winner. USWA Title Bout Nick Bockwinkel (C) vs. Carlos Colon In there first match, these two put on a wrestling clinic and went to a classic 60 minute draw. Of course Jarrett immediately signed a rematch for Scores to Settle. Bock says Colon is the luckiest man alive and that draw was a fluke. Bock says he'll show the world why he's the greatest wrestling champion. Colon has been on his A game and is tuned up and ready for the rematch. Bock's arrogance is at an all time high but Colon has remained focused and is keeping his eyes on the prize.
  6. Boyd and Morgan continue to get the upper hand on Bigelow. I'm hoping for a big Orton and Shultz push. They're off to a great start. I'm sure the fans were out of their seats during that Del Ray/Scorpio match. Thanks to his Freebird brothers, Gordy escapes with his title but Texas Red is on his heels. Huge win for Victory over Mando. Al Perez is moving up in the world. Taylor and Adams put on another classic. Big time main event as Steamboat and Muraco battle to a double DQ. Cant wait for more!

USWA TV @ The Civic Auditorium Knoxville TN 3-6-85 Footage is shown from last week as Tully Blanchard piledrives Mr. Olympia through a table! Lance Russell: Hello wrestling fans and welcome to another edition of USWA wrestling here on the USA Network. Fans, we're only one week away from Scores to Settle and things are heating up. Tonight's main event will be Jerry Lawler teaming with the Grapplers to take on Adrian Adonis and the USWA tag champs Troy Graham and Austin Idol. We'll hear from the USWA champ Nick Bockwinkel and we'll see his upcoming challenger Carlos Colon in action. Right off the bat I want to bring out the Texas State Champ Tully Blanchard along with Baby Doll. Mega boos as Tully arrogantly walks out smirking with Baby Doll at his side. Lance: I have to say that was a despicable act last week. I've received word that Mr. Olympia was recently released from the hospital and believe it or not he has vowed to be at Scores to Settle. Tully: (takes off his sunglasses) Oh what a hero Mr. Olympia is. What a role model. The man is broken and I'm the one who broke him. He talks a big game but trust me come match time the man will be nowhere to be found. And just remember the stipulation, if he fails to win this here title then he's gone from the USWA! Olympia will go down as just another man I defeated and ran out of town. Save your dignity Mr. Olympia and stay home! Lance: Boy I cant believe the arrogance of that man. Trust me, I don't think anything or anybody will keep Mr. Olympia from showing up at Scores to Settle. Fans let's go to the ring. "The Technician" Mark Fleming vs. Trent Watkins Fleming puts on a wrestling showcase as he works Watkins over. While Fleming is in control, Les Thornton comes out and scouts the match. Fleming remains focused and wins the match with a back drop followed by an Oklahoma roll. Commercial Break Lance: Before we get to our next match, I wanted to get in a word with Les Thornton. Les, we've seen your comments from the UK and it's obvious you were here doing some scouting. Les: You're a very astute man Mr. Russell. Next week at Scores to Settle, the United States will witness what true wrestling is all about as Tony St. Clair makes his historic USWA debut. Mark Fleming has the wrestling credentials but they are nowhere near the level of Tony St. Clair and at Scores to Settle everybody will know why he's simply the best. The Goldmine vs. Sam and Sean Smith Goldmine tune up for their upcoming Central States tag team title shot at Scores to Settle. Grey executes a superplex on Sam then tags in Rogers. Rogers hits a double stomp from the middle ropes to get the pin. Goldmine cut a promo and say they're more than ready for Bad Attitude and ready to be champs. Commercial Break "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley vs. Gary Williams Cooley is on fire tonight and finishes Williams off with the running bulldog! Cooley raises his fist to the fans as they cheer. WHAM! Johnny Rich hits the ring and clotheslines Cooley from behind! Carl Fergie cheers Rich on as Rich puts the boots to Cooley. Rich slams Cooley then goes to the top rope and hits a flying elbow drop! Fergie gets in the ring and picks up Cooley. Rich taunts Cooley then punches him in the face. Fergie throws Cooley down and gives him a stomp before they head to the podium. Lance: Yea you guys are some class acts, hitting Cooley from behind and attacking him. Fergie: Shut up nerd! Wendell Cooley, that's just a sample of what you're going to get at Scores to Settle. Rich: That's right! Cooley, boy I'm going to give you the whipp'n of your life and one that's long overdue! Fergie: And as for the Goldmine, you think you're ready for Bad Attitude? Think again. Bad Attitude are coming to Scores to Settle to make a statement and that's exactly what they're going to do! Your going to be nothing but victims! Commercial Break "Timekeeper" Mike George vs. Ted Oates w/Johnny Valiant Last week George defeated Jerry Oates and Valiant said lightning wouldn't strike twice. The bell rings but Valiant wont leave as he berates George. Ted tries to sneak up from behind but George turns around and pounds away on him then swings him into Valiant. Valiant tumbles through the ropes. George hoists up Ted and executes a running shoulder breaker 1..2..3! Big Pop! Commercial Break Lance: (Laughing) Well once again things backfire on Johnny Valiant. Joining me now is the man who will face Valiant's other man Steve Regal at Scores to Settle, I'm talking about Bruce Hart. Bruce: Lance, good to be here. From the moment I came to the USWA, Regal has been a thorn in my side. Well at... Johnny Valiant storms out. Valiant: Listen up punk! You're so lucky Mr. Electricity Steve Regal isn't here tonight because if he was he would knock you into next week! I'm so sick and tired of seeing your stupid face and come next week at Scores to Settle, Regal is going to smack that stupid face of yours silly. Hart looks at the fans and laughs. Valiant: Look at me when I'm talking to you! Valiant slaps Hart! Hart pauses then grabs Valiant by his collar and throws him down. Hart picks up Valiant and hurls him in the ring. Valiant is trying to crawl away but Hart drops an elbow on his back. Hart picks up Valiant and hits a backbreaker! Hart rolls Valiant over and applies the camel clutch! Valiant is screaming in pain as Hart wrenches away. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, Johnny Valiant had to be escorted out by our medical staff. I'm sure he regrets slapping Bruce Hart. Back to the ring. Hercules Ayala w/Sonny King vs. Todd Rooney Ayala destroys Rooney before clamping on a bearhug then ramming him into the turnbuckles and finishing him off with a belly to belly suplex. The fans boo as King leads Ayala to the podium. King: That punk Kerry Von Erich has felt the wrath and strength of Hercules Ayala. Von Erich! There's nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. At Scores to Settle you must face this man and Hercules Ayala will show no mercy. He's coming for your Central States title and he's coming to destroy you! Commercial Break The Legion vs. Coat of Arms Big TV tag match as these teams have been involved in quite a feud. Coat of Arms controls early as they execute a double suplex on Baron. Boris hurls Brito out of the ring while Baron applies the claw to DellaSerra! DellaSerra sinks down to the mat and the Ref counts 1..2..3! Big win for the Legion. Lance: The Legion get a strong win tonight. Right now I want to show you footage from what happened last week in Texas. Footage is shown of Ron Slinker attacking Sgt. Slaughter during his match with Tully Blanchard. Slinker beats Slaughter up with a pair of nun chucks! Lance: With me now is Ron Slinker. I wouldn't want to be you come next week at Scores to Settle when you face Slaughter in a boot camp match. Slinker: Did you see how I beat him up? After that humiliating beating, I heard he's been demoted to Private. Slaughter will be no match for a martial arts expert like myself. I'm going to teach that brawler a serious lesson in combat. I'm the one with a score to settle and Slaughter is going to pay the price and regret ever messing with me. That's a painful fact! Commercial Break Carlos Colon vs. Gary Williams Colon has the fans cheering as he body slams Williams then does a cartwheel. Colon climbs to the top rope. Williams staggers up and Colon finishes him off with a diving clothesline. The fans cheer as Colon heads to the podium. Lance: Ok Carlos, next week at Scores to Settles, it's for all the marbles as you go up against Nick Bockwinkel for the USWA title. I know you're ready. Colon: Yes I am Lance. I've trained my entire life for an opportunity like this. Boos as Nick Bockwinkel strolls out wearing a suit and carrying the USWA title. Bock: Relax gentlemen, I'm out here to conduct myself like a class act champion should. Mr. Colon, you are a tremendous wrestler however you do not carry the class that a champion requires. You do not carry the intestinal fortitude that a champion requires. You simply do not meet the standards of a champion. I can check all those boxes. Therefore there is no way you can defeat me for this title. You took me to the limit last time and like I said you were just lucky. I took the match a little to lightly and lost focus. At Scores to Settle I will prove to the world why I am the greatest wrestler walking the face of the earth. You do not stand a chance but I want to offer my hand as a show of sportsmanship. Bock extends his hand with a smile. Colon looks to the booing fans then at Bock. Bock: Don't be a fool. Prove me wrong and show me that you have an inkling of class. Colon smiles and shakes Bock's hand. Bock's smile turns into a grimace. The fans go wild as Colon pulls Bock in then hurls him over his shoulder!! Colon exits as Lance stares down at Bock. Commercial Break TV Main Event Jerry "The King" Lawler and The Grapplers vs. Adrian Adonis and the USWA Tag Champs "Dream Machine" Troy Graham and "The Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol This one is wild from the get go. Lawler goes right after Adonis and they brawl to the outside. Grappler 1 is punching away on Graham in the corner while Grappler 2 is hammering away on Idol in the opposite corner. The Grapplers swing Graham and Idol into each other. They stagger backwards and The Grapplers nail them with clotheslines. The Ref finally gets order. Lawler and Adonis are in a furious exchange. Lawler gets the upper hand and knocks Adonis back. Lawler swings Adonis to the ropes and gives him a big back drop. Adonis bumps back and tags in Graham. Graham charges but Lawler hip tosses him over and tags in Grappler 2. Grappler 2 pounds away on Graham then tags in Grappler 1. They swing Graham to the ropes and put him down with a double back elbow drop. Grappler 1 covers but Idol runs in and drops a knee to the head. Grappler 2 charges and punches away on Idol. Adonis runs in but Lawler tackles him and they both go through the ropes. Pretty soon everybody is fighting. The Ref lets it go as the fans are out of their seats cheering. The Grapplers punch Graham and Idol through the ropes. Graham and Idol stagger up and around then grab their belts and head to the back as the fans give it to them. Lawler and Adonis continue to fight on the outside until Adonis breaks free and heads to the back. The Ref reaches the 10 count since Graham was the legal man. Lance: Once again Graham and Idol take the easy way out but at Scores to Settle they wont be able to do that in the cage. Grapplers and Lawler go to the podium. Grapplers yell and say Graham and Idol wont survive the cage match and the titles will come back to where they rightfully belong. Lawler: Adonis! You talk the talk but when it comes to fighting you just come up short. At Scores to Settle I'll finally get my hands on you one on one and brother my score will be settled! 8. Fun opener as 2 up and comers go at it with Tonga Kid getting the win over a man called Sting. I can only imagine the brawl Rich and Sawyer had. Of course Sawyer had to win the first blood match. Nice job giving the ladies some attention. I'm looking forward to this division. Poor Scott Armstrong. He felt the wrath of Ivan and his chain! Flair looks strong by making Slater submit. This puts Flair and the figure four over. Loved that classic RnR/PYT's match. What a main event! Dibiase escapes with a DQ win over Dream thanks to Mr. USA and the MMM. Dusty is going to be looking for some serious payback.
  9. Looks like MACW is coming back with a bang! Title Night 85 will be an action packed night of wrestling.
  10. Steamboat looks impressive as his road to Muraco continues. Rude and Manny made a statement tonight as Hector does the stretcher job. 1985 could be Beefcake's year as Gilbert and Missy have him focused and winning. Cool seeing Jimmy Del Ray take on a leadership role. If your going to have an ace up your sleeve well then Orton is your guy. Shultz is a smart man. Big win for Billy Jack as he makes Hayes submit. Texas Red has a date with destiny with Gordy and the title. That's going to be a money making match!
  11. USWA places the Super Samoans (Tui and Sakalia) and Mike Shaw on the block.
  12. USWA releases SD Jones and would like to pick up Keith Hart.
  13. The Russians are certainly one of the favorites to win the tournament. Great segment with Dibiase, Stevens and Flair. Next week will be very interesting as Flair wagers everything. Rich is fired up tonight. Cant wait to find out what's in store for Rich and Sawyer. The MMM seems very confident in Mr. USA as he issues a challenge to the American Dream for Super Sunday. Watch out AWA because Outback Jack is coming! Hall and Hennig get in the tournament but suffer a post match beating by the Super Destroyers. The tournament is heating up. Once again love the commercials. They add a lot of fun to the shows.

  16. You know Brad Armstrong fired up the crowd. Rich vs. Sawyer is one of my all time favorite feuds so it's awesome seeing them go at it here in the AWA. Hall and Hennig get a big time rub teaming with Dusty and getting the big win over the MMM's stable. That RnR/Jumbo/Machine match looked like a classic. Both of Gene's teams look good tonight. Dibiase retains with a hard fought win over Wahoo. Even though the heel won I'm sure the fans went home satisfied after watching that match.

    USWA

USWA TV @ The Civic Auditorium Knoxville TN 2-28-85 Lance Russell: Hello again and welcome to another edition of USWA Wrestling here on the USA Network. Big main event as the Texas State Champ Tully Blanchard teams with Johnny Rich to take on Mr. Olympia and Wendell Cooley. Sgt. Slaughter returns to television. Also in action will be the Central States Champ Kerry Von Erich! TV champ Rick Martel will also be in action as well as the Grapplers. Adrian Adonis will be here as well as Jerry The King Lawler. That and a lot more. Right now my guest is the current USWA Champion Nick Bockwinkel. Bock arrogantly walks out wearing a suit with the title on his shoulder. Lance: Well Nick, at Scores to Settle you will once again defend that title against Carlos Colon. The last time you guys wrestled it went to an incredible 60 minute draw. I for one cant wait for the rematch. Bock: Lance, Carlos Colon is the luckiest man walking the face of the earth. I will give the man credit, he stood toe to toe with me for 60 grueling minutes but I want to make something very clear, that will not happen again. At Scores to Settle I will defeat Carlos Colon and I will retain this title. I am without a doubt the greatest wrestling champion in the world. What makes me a great champ is I'm always looking to make myself better. Colon, I have studied our match over and over and quite frankly I know how to beat you and beat you I will at Scores to Settle. Lance: Ok, strong and confident words from the USWA Champ. Let's go to the ring. TV Champ Rick Martel vs. Todd Rooney Martel looks sharp tonight and puts Rooney away with the Slingshot Splash. Martel cuts a promo and says at Scores to Settle he's finally going to put Larry Zbyszko down for the 1..2..3. Commercial Break Lance: With me right now is the man who will challenge Rick Martel for the TV title at Scores to Settle. Larry, you and Martel have battled to several draws and you've been accused of stalling. I have to ask, you needing to defeat the champ in 10 minutes, why would you spend a lot of time stalling? Larry: Because I'm not only a living legend but I am a master of psychology. Don't you get it? I have Martel right where I want him. At Scores to Settle our match will have no time limit. That is when I take the title. I have already defeated him psychologically and now I'll beat him physically. Lance: (Rolls his eyes) I think it'll be a tougher task then he thinks, back to the ring. The Super Samoans vs. Gary Williams and Trent Watkins Sakalia hits a Samoan Drop on Watkins and Tui follows with a flying splash from the top rope to get the pin! The Samoans flash the "I love you" signs to the fans WHAM!!! Rolling Thunder hits the ring and attacks the Samoans! They hurl Sakalia out of the ring. DJ swings Tui to the ropes and clotheslines him down. Shaw swings off the ropes and hits a body splash! The fans boo as Rolling Thunder go to the podium. They yell and say the Samoans have gotten to many undeserved title shots. They demand a title shot! Commercial Break "Timekeeper" Mike George vs. Jerry Oates w/Johnny Valiant and Ted Oates George has a tough time tonight as both Valiant and Ted Oates constantly interfere. Valiant is on the apron distracting the Ref while Ted is on the other side and holds George from the apron. Valiant throws a tantrum as the fans pop for George. Lance: (Laughing) Mike George overcomes the odds and gets the win over Jerry Oates. Valiant storms the podium. Valiant: I've never seen such bad officiating in my life! I hope you're happy with that tainted win Mike George. You'll never pull that off again! Mike George walks over. Mike: I would be more than happy to do that again. Valiant: Ok, next time try that on Ted Oates. Lightning wont strike twice on the Outstanding Oates! Commercial Break The Grapplers vs. Sam and Sean Smith Grapplers demolish the Smith brothers. The finish sees Grappler 1 hoist Sam up in a bearhug as Grappler 2 hits a diving clothesline from the middle ropes for the pin! Grapplers cut a promo and say they're counting down the days until they get Graham and Idol in the cage at Scores to Settle. They remind Graham that they took off his mask and next up are the titles! Commercial Break Another pre recorded UK promo from Les Thornton. He says he understands Mark Fleming will be the opponent of Tony St. Clair at Scores to Settle. He acknowledges Fleming's wrestling skills but assures him he will be no match for Tony "Simply the Best" St. Clair. St. Clair is going to prove what he already knows and that's UK wrestling is far more superior that that of the USA. Lance: Les Thornton will bring Tony St. Clair to the USWA at Scores to Settle. I don't think they should look past Mark Fleming. Well fans let's go to the ring for the television return of Sgt. Slaughter. Sgt. Slaughter: Ron Slinker you maggot! Your nothing but a gutless coward! But at Scores to Settle, you will have nowhere to run when you step into a bootcamp match with me! Slinker! Get your affairs in order! Lance: I wouldn't want to be Ron Slinker. Back to the ring. Central States Tag Champs Bad Attitude w/"Cool" Carl Fergie vs. Stu Jersky and Paul Sampson Bad Attitude work their opponents over pretty good before winning the match with a double rib breaker! Fergie leads his team to the podium. Fergie: Listen up nerds. Later on tonight I'll be back out as my man Johnny Rich teams with the great Tully Blanchard to give Mr. Olympia and that big dummy Wendell Cooley the beating of their lives. Now! At Scores to Settle it appears the Goldmine have earned themselves a shot at our Central States tag titles. HAHAHAHA the only thing they earned is a guaranteed loss! Commercial Break Lance: With me right now is Adrian Adonis. (BOOOS) Adrian, it's you and Lawler at Scores to Settle and I'm sure that's going to be nothing less than a fight. Adonis: A fight? It's going to be me putting a sheer beating on that gutter rat Lawler! Lawler isn't a man, he's just Jarrett's puppet. That's right, Lawler has always been Jarrett's favorite and that's the only reason he's been as successful as he has. I put an end to that and made damn sure he wouldn't be champion. There was no way in hell we would endure yet another Lawler title run. At Scores to Settle..... The fans go wild as Jerry Lawler storms out and tackles Adonis! Lawler hammers away until prelim wrestlers come out to stop it. It's a wild scene as they hold Lawler back. Adonis staggers up and goes after Lawler! They try and break it up but Lawler breaks free and the brawl is on! They roll around and throw punches as the prelim wrestlers try and break it up. Commercial Break "Bronco" Bruce Hart vs. Wes Cantrell Hart executes a backbreaker then applies the Camel Clutch for the submission win. Hart cuts a promo and says his score will be settled when he puts Steve Regal down once and for all. Footage is shown from a couple weeks ago as Hercules Ayala gave Kerry a post match beating finishing him off with a belly to belly suplex on the concrete. Lance: Ok Kerry, you'll be defending the Central States Title against Hercules Ayala at Scores to Settle and you know Sonny KIng will be in Ayala's corner. Kerry: Ayala! 18. Gene comes back with a bang! I loved the themed commercials, very nice touch. Big news as a tournament will crown world tag champs. RnR do a good job hyping it up. Dibiase has strong words for Flair. This is one of the most anticipated matches in the game. LOL, like the continuation of the Marvelous Masked Manager story. I'm glad to see Gene Anderson back as a manager. Smart man as he has two teams involved in the tournament. We'll see how long they can coexist. What a way to end the first show with a lumberjack title match! Rich regains the title and Koko and Norvell are unmasked! What an ending! Great job!
  19. Nelson, Blears, Resnick, Trongard, St. Paul, ESPN and a new booker. Verne is making his move. This will be a lot of fun and I cant wait for the epic Dibiase/Flair match.

USWA TV @ The Civic Auditorium, Knoxville TN 2-21-85 Lance Russell: Hello wrestling fans and welcome to another edition of USWA wrestling here on the USA Network. Blockbuster main event tonight as the USWA champ Nick Bockwinkel teams with Adrian Adonis and Larry Zbyszko to take on Carlos Colon, TV champ Rick Martel and the King Jerry Lawler! What a match that will be. Right now please welcome out the owner of the USWA Jerry Jarrett. Jerry, I know you have some big news regarding our big closed circuit event on March 14th in Indianapolis at the Market Square Arena, I'm talking about Scores to Settle. Jerry: Thank you Lance and yes I'm very excited about that event and here's why. So far signed is that big grudge match between Jerry Lawler and Adrian Adonis, also is the boot camp match between Sgt. Slaughter and Ron Slinker. You will also see Rick Martel defend the TV title against Larry Zbyszko and there will be no time limit. After what happened during their last encounter, Kerry Von Erich demanded another match with Hercules Ayala and he will put the Central States title on the line. Now, I have witnessed the USWA tag champs Troy Graham and Austin Idol continually get themselves DQed or counted out in their matches with the Grapplers, well the champs will defend their titles once again against the Grapplers, this time inside a steel cage! The other night at the Hemisfair Arena I witnessed a classic 60 minute draw between Nick Bockwinkel and Carlos Colon. So I've decided a rematch is in order and that will happen at Scores to Settle. Lance: How about that. Wow! Scores to Settle is certainly living up to it's name. Thank you Jerry, what a tremendous night of action that will be. Ok fans let's go to the ring. "The Technician" Mark Fleming vs. Todd Rooney It was announced that Tony St. Clair from the UK will make his debut at Scores to Settle taking on Mark Fleming. Fleming works over Rooney with some solid amateur wrestling before finishing him off with a gut wrench suplex followed by a rolling cradle. Fleming cuts a promo and says he was well trained by the great Lou Thesz and he's defiantly up for the task against St. Clair! Commercial Break The Movement w/Sonny King vs. Gary Williams and Raymond Cruz King and the Movement draw some real heat as they work over their opponents as well as antagonize the fans. Whatley tags in Conway and they finish off Cruz with a double Russian Legsweep for the easy pin. The fans continue to boo as King leads them to the podium. They're also joined by Hercules Ayala. Footage is shown from the Hemisfair Arena as Ayala rams Kerry Von Erich into the steel post then belly to belly suplexes him on the concrete. Lance: Just what was that all about? Kerry won that ma... King: He won nothing! Did he look like a winner? No but Hercules Ayala sure did! You're a fool Kerry! You want another match? Fine by us because my man Ayala is going to give you a far worse beating than what you got in Texas and then he's taking your Central States title! I hope you're listening boy! There's a commotion as Roosevelt Jones walks out. Jones: Hey man I thought we were a unit, I thought we were family? Then why did you leave me at the hands of Slinker and his goons? Where I come from family don't do that. King: It's real simple Jones. You're out of the Movement! It's been proven time and time again that you cant cut it so you're gone! Frankly you're just a loser and hopeless and I cant deal with you any longer. The fans go wild as Jones decks King!!! That might of been a big mistake because Ayala and the Movement are all over Jones. They beat him down. Whatley and Conway execute a double Russian Legsweep on the concrete then hold him up as Ayala just about decapitates him with a clothesline! Lance: He's had enough! Ayala picks up the lifeless Jones and Whatley and Conway are going to his another legsweep but The Naturals run out with chairs! Satisfied, King and The Movement exit while the Naturals signal for help. Commercial Break Lance: Jones was stretchered out of here. He was in bad shape. Standing with me are the Naturals Brian Adias and George Wells. Wells: It's no secret Roosevelt Jones and I have had some bitter history and brutal matches but he didn't deserve that. Movement! We have some unfinished business. Adias: That's right, you costed us our Central States title match at the Eblen Center and now we're looking for some payback! You boys are great when the numbers are in your favor but next time we meet the numbers will be even. Wells: And you boys don't fare to well in an even fight. Lance: Tensions are at an all time high between the Naturals and Movement. Ok, back to the ring. "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley vs. Vic Dutro Cooley has the fans up and cheering as he takes Dutro down with a bulldog then picks him up and hits the Oklahoma Stampede for the pin! The fans keep cheering as Cooley heads to the podium. Cooley: Talking about Scores to Settle, well I have a score to settle with you Johnny Rich! Boos as Cool Carl Fergie strolls out. Fergie: Relax and don't start any trouble, got it! For the safety of Johnny Rich, I told him to stay home tonight. You're nothing but an underachieving loose cannon. Johnny Rich deserves title matches and I will not lower him to the standards of something like you. Lance: Now hold on Carl. Fergie: Damn it nerd! The name is "COOL" Carl Fergie! Lance: Ok, cool, I've been informed that your guy Johnny Rich will be wrestling Wendell Cooley at Scores to Settle. Fergie has a tantrum. Fergie: You will be hearing from my lawyer! Slaughter while Slinker blasts him over the head with a chair, busting him open. Lance: Oh yea keep smiling. You wont be smiling at Scores to Settle when you have to face Slaughter in a boot camp match. Slinker: Oh I'm trembling. Slaughter you messed with the wrong guy and as you know I have friends in very dark places. There wont be anything left of Slaughter after our encounter and that's a very cold hearted fact. You saw what I'm capable of and that's only the beginning. (Laughs) This is going to be a lot of fun. Lance: He gives me the creeps. We'll be back. Commercial Break Lance: Joining me now is the Texas State Champ Tully Blanchard along with Baby Doll. Well, thanks to Baby Doll, you were able to retain your title against Mr. Olympia in the Hemisfair Arena. Tully: I wont dignify that with a comment. Who's standing here with the title? Who? Lance: You are. Tully: That's right. Jerry Jarrett gave that undeserving Olympia shot after shot but like always the man came up short. Cheers as Olympia walks out. Lance: Please gentleman we've had enough trouble for one night. Olympia: I'm not here to cause trouble. I'll get right to the point. Everybody is talking about Scores to Settle and I have one with you Blanchard. I want one more title shot at Scores to Settle. Tully: Whoa hold on. First of all, you don't deserve another shot and second I only defend this title in Texas, Scores to Settle is in Indiana you moron. Baby Doll whispers something in Tully's ear. Tully smiles and nods. Tully: I'll tell you what. I'll gladly put the title on the line but if you don't win it which you wont then you have to leave the USWA. There's a pause. Tully: Awwww what's the matter? Yea that's what I thought. You're gutless and you don't get a shot. Olympia: It's a deal. Olympia walks away and Tully has a bit of a worried look on his face. Lance: Ok, you heard it here, if Olympia fails to win the Texas Title at Scores to Settle, he must leave the USWA. The fans boo as the champs head to the podium. Graham: What the hell is going on around here! The Grapplers started this entire thing by unmasking me on national TV. So my partner and I finished it by taking these here titles from them fair and square babay! And now that corrupt Jerry Jarrett is putting us in a cage with them! Idol: Take it easy darling, we've already proven we're the superior team. Do you really think those chumps have a chance? Now they cant run away like they always do. Graham: (laughing) Yea you're right babay. Grapplers! I've had enough of you and not only are we going to whip you up in that cage but I want your masks! Idol: Now you're talking! Grapplers! The titles come home with us and so do your masks! Graham: We guarantee that! Lance: I don't know about that but we'll find out at Scores to Settle. Our big main event when we come back. Commercial Break USWA Champ Nick Bockwinkel, Adrian Adonis and Larry Zbyszko vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler, Carlos Colon and TV Champ Rick Martel This one's a barnburner and the action is non stop.
