  1. With the open spot from the trade of Baby Doll, UWF picks up Danny Littlewolf, AKA Dangerous Danny Davis, AKA Mr. X
  2. Really enjoyed the TV show. The fake bell, LeDuc, a title on the line..... GREAT MATCH and with the clown angle continuing, I will be right back here for next week's show!
  3. UWF sends Baby Doll and the #6 pick in the 86 Draft (which I acquired from CCW earlier) to MACW for the #5 pick in the draft. (MACW's first rd pick)
  4. The Gauntlet Matches are catching on! I have a few coming up at Music City Mayhem. I am enjoying Martel here!
  5. MUSIC CITY 9/12/1985: WTVT 8:00-11:00 NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE “Yello again everybody. Welcome to a special UWF event coming to you from here in Music City USA….. Nashville, Tennessee and the Tennessee State Fairgrounds. I am Lance Russell along with the Jim Ross. What a day of wrestling we have already had today at the State Fairgrounds as all of the UWF Champions are defending their titles in an showcase of all the UWF talent. These are some of the highlights from the day's earlier matches. UWF CENTRAL STATES TELEVISION TITLE MARTY JONES VS GARY ROYAL In rather quick fashion, we see Jones defeat Royal in about 6 minutes with a nasty Belly to Belly Piledriver! Marty Jones continues his roll as he retains the TV Title! UWF CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TV TITLE DAVID SAMMARTINO with FREDDIE BLASSIE & TEDDI MUSCLES VS MR. OLYMPIA It appeared that we were going to have our first new champion of the evening as Mr. Olympia was having his way with Sammartino as he had the champ locked in the sleeper but the numbers game was just too much. Teddy Muscles came in the ring and clocked Mr. Olympia from behind. Blass was not far behind and got in a few shoots with the cane. After the DQ, the trio raised their hands in a sign of victory like they accomplished something. UWF TV TITLE MATCH VLAD THE RUSSIAN HAMMER VS JIMMY SNUKA Snuka is the first man ever to give Vlad a quality match and was on the verge of winning as he followed up a series of headbutts and climbed the ropes for the Superfly Death leap but Vlad moved out of the way at the last second. Snuka smacked his head off the canvass and took a while to stagger to his feet. Vlad had recovered by now and came off the ropes with the Double Fisted Russian Hammer for the win. Now Vlad really brought some heat on himself as the grabbed the Russian Flag and proudly waved it around the ring. Jim Ross: Oh come on now! This is America for God sakes. Someone must put an end to this. All of sudden, The American Dream comes out and the crowd goes wild. Jim Ross: Bah Gawd…. Its Dusty Rhodes! If anyone will put this Ruskie in his place its Dusty! Lance Russell: Yeah but Dusty better be careful, his match for the North American Championship against Ted Dibiase is still to come. WHAM…. Too late as Vlad has attacked Dusty with the flag pole and he is really giving it to the Dream. Dusty is busted wide open and we see a preview of next month’s cover of Pro Wrestling Illustrated…… Dusty with blood streaming down his face and the Russian flag draped over his body as Vlad stands over the Dream. The attack only lasts a minute or two as officials rush out and get Vlad away. Both Ross and Russell wonder if Dusty will be able to wrestle later on. UWF CENTRAL STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP THE KINISKI BROTHERS WITH GENE KINISKI VS JIMMY VALIANT & THE DREAM MACHINE The Nashville crowd is really into this one as Valiant and Dream Machine are some of the biggest names in Memphis Wrestling history and they really have the crowd behind them. Valiant is doing the Boogie Woggie act all over the place and is really keeping the Kiniski’s off balance while Dream Machine is connecting with all types of power moves. Valiant seems on the verge of gaining the victory as he has Kelly Kiniski locked in the sleeper. To try and save the belts, Nick grabs a chair and comes in to clock Valiant and cause the automatic DQ and save the titles. Lance Russell: Watch out Jimmy! Somehow, Valiant sensed the trouble and released the sleeper but as he turned he opened up his face for the chair shot! Jim Ross: Oh my…. I can’t believe what I have just seen. It is Gene Kiniski ripping the chair from his own son’s hands. Nick and Gene are having words in the center of the ring. Valiant takes the opportunity caused by the distraction and comes up from behind a dazed Kelly and rolls him up for the pin. Jim Ross: And the new UWF CENTRAL STATES TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS ….. Jimmy Valiant and The Dream Machine! UWF CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING BAM BAM BIGELOW VS THE BULLETT A true battle for the ages and it could have gone either way. The Bullet had many chances and seemed to be the better technical wrestler. His best opportunity came as he locked in the Figure Four but Bigelow made it to the ropes forcing the break. The end came after Bigelow connected with a Top Rope Splash as Lance commented on the amazing agility of this big man with the fireball on his bald head. UWF CENTRAL STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP SWEET BROWN SUGAR VS BLACK DRAGON with JR FOLEY A typical babyface vs heel match here. Sugar started quickly but Dragon gained the momentum after some questionable tactics. As the action spilled out of the ring, Dragon grabbed Sugar as Foley wound up for a big blow. Sugar escaped at the last second and Foley clocked his own man. Sweet Brown Sugar hit Foley with a missile dropkick and then threw Cobra back into the ring where he whipped him into the ropes and caught him with another Missile Dropkick for the win. UWF U.S. TITLE TERRY GORDY VS HACKSAW REED WITH ERNIE LADD The fans are awed at all the power moves in this one but as one would expect, Ernie Ladd would somehow get involved. After Hacksaw tossed Gordy though the ropes, the ref went to admonish Reed. This gave Ladd time to connect with a Big Boot from the size 20 boot! Ladd tossed a dazed Gordy back into the ring who staggered to his feet just in time for WHAM! A monster football tackle by Reed. He quickly scoops up Gordy for the Gorilla Press Slam and the victory! The music starts to blare…….. The Nation …… of Domination as Jim Ross and Lance Russell announce the new U.S. Champion….. Hacksaw Butch Reed! Jim Ross: And when we come back from break, we will be picking up with the live action.
  6. I am enjoying this run that Al Perez is on! Nice show for the people of Calgary.
  7. Love that you found Leduc! He is one of my favorites.
  8. MUSIC CITY 9/7/1985: WTVT NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE BELL TIME 1:00 This event is a week-long exhibit at the Tennessee State Fair that is intended to bring in the new fan as well as excite the big time wrestling fan. It is a showcase of all the UWF Promotions as one would expect some out of state fans at the fair! “Yello again everybody. Welcome to a special UWF event as we get set to tip off the biggest week in wrestling, Music City Mania. I am Lance Russell along with my co-host for the evening, Jim Ross and we are coming to you from The Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee. On this show, we are going to see some highlights from the Music City Bowl, a singles and tag team tournament that could propel one of these stars right to the UWF Unified Championship. Don’t forget to join us on Thursday night as each title in the UWF will be defended right here in the Nashville. Jim Ross also reminds us that we will see some of the greatest stars in country music today and he can’t wait to see the beautiful Barbara Mandrell. He says the Music City Bowl is about to kick off but as we do, let’s welcome to the stage, one of country music’s biggest stars, Lee Geenwood as he performs God Bless the U.S.A! Lance and Ross now go through some highlights of the first-round matches and give us some insights on the next round. MUSIC CITY BOWL RD.1 1. Dory Funk (CCW) defeats Rocky Johnson (CCW)when he blocked a big right hand and followed it up with a double hook suplex. With Johnson in trouble, Dory went with the Spinning Toe hold for the victory. 2. Adrian Adonis (CCW) defeats Bulldog Brown (CSW) with the Goodnight Irene! 3. Jimmy Garvin (USWA) defeated Lanny Poffo (CSW) as Precious needed to get the loaded purse involved while Jimmy had the ref distracted. 4. Hacksaw Jim Duggan (Mid-South) defeated Big John Studd (CCW) by DQ When Teddy Muscles hammered Duggan with his own 2x4. Teddy was just following directions from Blassie. After the match, Studd and Teddy tried to make an example of Hacksaw but JYD, Mr. Wrestling II and Shane Douglas made the save. 5. In the match of the round, Wahoo McDaniel (CCW) defeated Blackjack Mulligan (CCW) when Wahoo reached into his trunks and clocked Mulligan with a pair of brass knuckles. 6. Dick Murdoch (Mid-South) defeated the Dirty White Boy (CCW) in a wild brawl that saw Murdoch connect with a Brainbuster for the Finisher. 7. Dr. Death Steve Williams (Mid-South) defeated Honky Tonk Man (USAW) with the Oklahoma Stampede. 8. In the most interesting match of the first round, Shane Douglas (Mid-South) with Mr. Wrestling II defeats Junkyard Dog (Mid-South). The match started with a handshake but certainly did not end that way. The ref got caught with a big clothesline from Douglas as the Dog ducked out of the way. It is here that the camera picks up both Mr. Wrestling II and Douglas loading up their knee braces. Together they just kept hitting JYD with Million Dollar Knee Lifts to the face. By the end of it, JYD was bleeding from the mouth, forehead and nose. He seemed to be unconscious by the time the ref came to as Douglas made an easy pin as the State Fair crowd watched on in horror. After the match was over, Lance was in shock that Wrestling II would attack his longtime friend, JYD, just to collect the $25,000 bounty. He sighs and finishes with the thought that money will do strange things to people. As they wonder why, we see Reba Mcentire on stage singing “How Blue.” ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- Russell and Ross get right to hyping up the great tag teams in the UWF as we head to the qualifying round of the Music City Tag Team Bowl. Qualifying Round 1. Jack Victory and Dave Taylor with Lanny Poffo (CSW) defeated the Cobra and the Black Ninja (CSW) with a wild finish as these two heel teams from Central States went to battle. JR. Foley was up on the apron trying to arguing that Jack Victory just hit the Cobra with an illegal taped fist. This distraction allowed Lanny Poffo the chance to climb to the top rope and come off with a big frog splash. The ref turned around just in time to make the three count for Victory and Taylor. 2. The Samoan Connection (USWA) (Farmer Boy Ipo & LeRoy Brown defeated the Rat Pack (Mid-South) (Eric Embry & Buddy Landell) in a bit off an upset. Landell had Brown in the Figure 4 but he reached the ropes to break the hold. He also made the tag to Ipo who came in like a house afire. After tossing Embry to the floor, the 350 pound Samoan scopped up Landell for the Samoan Drop and the victory. 3. The Southern Boys (CCW) defeated the Exotic Hustlers (CCW) by DQ as the ref caught Miss. Linda spraying perfume in the eyes of Tracy Smothers. This caused some serious problems for Smothers who was in some big time trouble heading back to the locker room. Exotic Street and Rip Rodgers took this opportunity to go 2-1 against Steve Armstrong. Ross and Russell wondered if the Southern Boys will even be able to continue in the tournament. 4. Austin Idol and Superstar Dundee (USWA) defeated the Desparados (CCW) (Ron Bass & Black Bart). Dundee and Bass were brawling out on the floor while Idol caught Bart in the Las Vegas Leglock. Just as Bart submitted, Bass scooped us Dundee and dropped him across the steel barricade and then rushed in with a flaming branding iron and narrowly missed Idol. As the highlights from the qualifying round ends, Ross and Russell let us know that The Faces of Fear, The Tennessee Stud Stable, and the Freebirds received bye’s into the second round. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- As we come out of break, we see the Charlie Daniels Band on stage singing “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Lance and Jim Ross are hyping the entire fair and Jim Ross seems really excited about the pig catching competition. Lance brings us back to wrestling and informs us that all the highlights that we have seen so far were from the afternoon session on Saturday and now we are going to see some huge highlights from the night session. MUSIC CITY BOWL: ROUND 2 1. Dory Funk Jr. (CCW) defeats Adrian Adonis (CCW) as he somehow slipped out of the Goodnight Irene and quickly turned that into a Russian Legsweep. Dory came up from behind and caught Adonis in the Texas Clover Leave for the Submission victory. Russell hypes up the repertoire that we have seen so far tonight from Dory Funk Jr. and Jim Ross says he would expect nothing less from this former NWA World Champion. 2. Hacksaw Duggan (Mid-South) defeated Jimmy Garvin (USWA). Garvin did his best to play possum and almost had the victory but Hacksaw threw him off as Garvin went for a running bulldog. As Garvin got back to his feet, Duggan caught him with a big football tackle. Precious was up on the apron as Duggan went for the pin but one look from Hacksaw made her think twice and she jumped down. Ross and Russell say they have never seen her not do everything in her power to save her man. 3. Wahoo McDaniel (CCW) defeated Dick Murdoch (Mid-South) in just a brutal fight. It appeared that Murdoch was going to get the victory after as he was going for the Brainbuster. He had Wahoo up but his leg buckled and he went down. Wahoo showed him no mercy and went into a War Dance before putting Murdoch in the Tee Pee Leg Lock for the submission victory. Both Russell and Ross hope that Murdoch is not hurt too badly but wonder if and when they will see him again. 4. Dr. Death Steve Williams (Mid-South) defeats Shane Douglas (Mid-South) Dr. Death just destroys the poor youngster. The end comes with the Oklahoma Stampeded but all Ross and Russell can talk about was the attack by Wrestling II and Douglas earlier on JYD. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- The next segment comes back with Hank Williams Jr. on stage singing “A Country Boy Can Survive as Lance Russell and Jim Ross get us ready to review the second round of the tag team tournament. MUSIC CITY TAG TEAM BOWL: ROUND 2 1. The Faces of Fear (Mid-South) with Skandar Akbar defeat Jack Victory & Dave Taylor with Lanny Poffo. It seemed like the Faces of Fear have their mind set on getting another shot at the Road Warriors. They even ended the match with a Doomsday Device on Jack Victory. When the bout was over, Haku even put Poffo’s muscle, the Dingo Warrior in the Tongan Death Grip and left him writhing in pain. Jim Ross put the rest of the tag teams on notice that they better beware of the Skandar Akbar’s Faces of Fear. 2. Austin Idol & Superstar Dundee (USWA) defeat The Southern Boys (Tracy Smothers & Steve Armstrong) The Southern Boys fought gallantly but with Smothers struggling with his eye sight, Idol and Dundee maintained control of most of the match. Dundee gained the victory after a Sunset flip and we actually had some nice sportsmanship after the match as the two teams shook hands and left the ring together. 3. The Tennessee Stud Stable (CCW) defeated the Samoan Connection (USWA) as Eddie Gilbert choked out Farmer Boy Ipo with some sort of hidden plastic zip lock tie that he hid during what he claimed was a legal sleeper hold. 4. Jimmy Golden and Robert Fuller (CCW) defeated the Freebirds (CCW) in a strange match. Golden did all the work and Russell and Ross thought it must be because Fuller is having some vision problems from the fireball he was hit with a few weeks ago by the Stud Stable. At one point, Hayes whipped Fuller into his own corner and he smacked right into his partner who wasn’t even facing the right direction. The ref claimed it was a legal tag and made Fuller enter the ring. Hayes went up and and clocked him and Fuller never even tried to block it. Hayes was laughing and turned away and pretended to be walking with a walking stick. Fuller simply came up from behind and rolled Hayes up for the 1…2…3. Jim Ross was laughing at how Fuller and Golden just out foxed one of the best foxes. The faces Hayes made after the 3 count were priceless. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- As we come back from break, we see the Oak Ridge Boy’s on stage singing their classic “Elvira.” MUSIC CITY BOWL SEMI-FINALS 1. Hacksaw Jim Duggan (Mid-South) defeated Dory Funk Jr (CSW) in a wild match that saw Dory try to outwrestle Hacksaw. It was working but then Hacksaw decided it was time to use the big power moves. He connected with a powerslam and caught Dory with a football tackle as he staggered to his feet. This was enough to get him a spot in the Music City Bowl finals on Thursday. 2. Dr. Death Steve Williams (Mid-South) defeated Wahoo McDaniel in a knock down drag out brawl that saw Williams no sell three straight monster tomahawk chops from Wahoo and then simply scoop up the chief for an Oklahoma Stampede and the victory. Ross and Russell hype this final up big time as they review the feud that Hacksaw has been having with the entire Rat Pack. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MUSIC CITY TAG TEAM BOWL SEMI-FINALS 1. Austin Idol and Superstar Bill Dundee defeat the Faces of Fear by DQ when Skandar Akbar got involved. Dundee did a nice job of selling a beating here before making a tag to Idol who came in and stood up to both Haku and Konga. Akbar decided to get in the ring and actually ended up punching Haku right in the head. Haku got angry and grabbed Akbar. This allowed Idol a chance to sneak up on Haku and catch him with a low blow for the surprise victory. Lance Russell tells us that Idol and the fans may be on the same side now but that doesn’t mean Idol is above the law. 2. The Tennessee Stud Stable (CCW) defeated Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden (CCW) when Ron Fuller tripped up his brother. Robert turned around and this was all that Eddie Gilbert needed as he caught Fuller with a Hot Shot. Lance Russell and Jim Ross remind us to tune in for the second part of Music City Mayhem which will air on Tuesday night. Lance Russell: So long from Nashville!
  9. 9/3/1985: WTVT SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA UWF UNIFIED WORLD CHAMPION: JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION: TED DIBIASE UWF WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE ROAD WARRIOIRS UWF WORLD 6 MAN CHAMPIONS: THE TENNESSEE STUD STABLE (TOMMY RICH, EDDIE GILBERT & JOHN STUD) UWF WORLD TV CHAMPION: VLAD THE RUSSIAN HAMMER Hello again everybody. Welcome to Power Pro Wrestling; a UWF & Mid-South Wrestling production from Shreveport, Louisiana and the McNeil’s Boys Club. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is Cowboy Bill Watts. Well folks we are under a week away from Music City Mayhem and the tension here is hot as every wrestle in the locker room thinks they could be the World Champion in less than two weeks! Before we get to the ring, let’s see a video tape from the Summit in Houston and the wild 4 Corner Elimination Match for the North American Title between Ted Dibiase, Steve “Dr. Death” Williams, Dusty Rhodes and Hacksaw Duggan. The video starts with Dibiase and Duggan being the legal men in the ring but the action has gone a little bonzo gonzo as all 4 are in. This allowed Dibiase to load up that glove as the ref is in over his head. WHAM… Loaded glove by Dibiase takes out Duggan and he is sent to the locker room. The ref finally gets control and somehow Dusty takes out Dr. Death with a piledriver. Dibiase really stalls here and plays the frightened heel well as he refuses to enter the ring. The ref starts a 10 count after a minute or two of stalling but this suits Dibiase just fine as he would retain the belt on a countout. 6…. 7… 8… WHAM! Monster Football tackle by the eliminated Dr. Death on Dusty that the ref never saw. Dibiase scampers into the ring and gets the pin to regain the title! As the video comes to an end, we see an angry American Dream at the interview desk who vows revenge on Dibiase at Music City Mayhem in Nashville as Cowboy Bill Watts has granted him a rematch for the North American Title! Dusty Rhodes: Thissss time Diiibbbbiaseee, it is 1 on 1. No place to hide. No help from the snakes in the Rat Pack. You and me for the title Baaaaaaby! MATCH: DICK MURDOCH DEFEATS COCO SAMOA WITH A BRAIN BUSTER In a quick match post interview, Dick Murdoch really hypes up Music City Mayhem and he loves his chances of winning the Music City Championship! COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH: THE FACES OF FEAR WITH SKANDAR AKBAR JUST DESTROY TONY RUSSO & AL COSTELLO Skandar Akbar is laughing and laughing at the interview desk as he can’t belief how stupid the UWF is. He knows that Cowboy Watts doesn’t want to see the World Titles around his men’s waist but it is inevitable after Music City Mayhem as he men will destroy every team on its way to meet and dethrone those pathetic copy cats…. The Road Warriors. MATCH: BUDDY LANDELL DEFEATS ART SHAMESKY WIN A FIGURE 4 At the interview desk, Jim Ross wonders about the cohesion of the Rat Pack and Buddy Landell goes off. Did you not see the video tape in the begining. Dr. Death just leveled Dusty Rhodes to help Dibiase keep his title. We will do anything for each other. Jim Ross: Are you saying Ted Dibiase needed the help of Steve Williams to defeat Dusty Rhodes. Buddy Landell: oooohhh, ooohhhh, I see what you are dong Ross. Trying to put words in my mouth. Trying to break the Rat Pack apart. Well it won’t work. Jim Ross: By the way, where was your partner today, Eric Embry. By now, Landell is furious and just walks away. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH UWF WORLD TV TITLE MATCH VLAD THE RUSSIAN HAMMER DESTROYS MASTER G WITH THE DOUBLE FISTED SLEDGEHAMMER TO THE CHEST. As Vlad the Russian Hammer continues his path of destruction through the UWF, we find out it will be Superfly Snuka facing his at Music City Mahem. Vlad seems like he could care less and in his broken English let’s us know that Superfly will be swatted like all bugs should! “SPLAT GOES THE SUPERFLY!” MATCH THE ROAD WARRIORS with PAUL ELLERING DESTROY DON LEFEVBRE & WAYNE PETTY Paul Ellering is on the microphone and speaking to the entire tv audience but you can tell his message is to the Faces of Fear! Paul Ellering: Did you just see that? Did you see that Doomsday Device? Did you see poor Wayne Petty flip in mid-air and nearly break his neck when he landed? Did you see the stretcher come get him? I don’t care if it is the Kiniski Brothers up in Central States Wrestling. I don’t care if it is the Tennessee Stud Stable over in Alabama. I don’t cate if it is the Freebirds over in Texas. I don’t care if it is the Midnight Express. I DON’T CARE IF IT IS THE FACES OF FEAR FROM RIGHT HERE IN MID-SOUTH WRESTLING. Nobody can stop the Road Warriors and you will see after MUSIC CITY MAYHEM. We will still have our titles while other teams will have HOSPITAL BILLS. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH JYD & SHANE DOUGLAS VS THE KIWI SHEEPHERDERS In an attempt to collect the $25,000 bounty on JYD, the Sheepherders attack before the bell. This really took the younger Douglas by surprise and he gets rammed face first into the steel ring post and he falls to the arena floor. Somehow the ref gets this under control and calls for the bell but JYD seems to be all alone. He does a great job of selling here and locks completely out of it but as we would expect, the baby face begins to rise. JYD somehow catches Rip Morgan with a BIG THUMP as goes for the pin. Jonathan Boyd hits the ring to make the save. WHAM! Shane Douglas recovers just in time to hit Boyd with the Million Dollar Knee Lift that he has been working on with Wrestling II. JYD and Douglas really pulled this one out and are so hyped up at the interview desk about Douglas and the growth that he has made. Jim Ross: Well guys, I have two pieces of bad news for you. First of all, the brackets for the Music City Bowl are out and it looks like you two will be facing each other. JYD: The only reason that is bad news is that it is in the first round. This youngster has come so far so fast under the teachings of Wrestling II here that I was hoping we could both advance to the finals. I expect Shane to give it his all and may the better man or Dog come out on top! Shane and JYD shake hands as the Dog asks what was the other piece of bad news. Well we have received another letter from whoever this John guy is that has placed this bounty on your head. Dear JYD, I have heard that Nashville is Country Music U.S.A. but all you will be hearing is the BLUES! The black and blues that is. BEWARE OF MUSIC CITY as the dog catcher is on duty! Sincerely, John JYD and Mr. Wrestling II furiously demand that this guy show his face as Jim Ross announces we are out of time. Jim Ross: So long from Shreveport and don’t forget to join us on WTVT and local affiliates this Saturday for a recap of the first day’s action from Music City Mayhem.
  10. I understand what you are saying Gene about The Nation of Domination and that I am pushing it but really trying to bring some real heat down as I know they are not ready. I also choose Memphis as I thought it might be a little better then Alabama or Louisiana. I have seen a few interviews on youtube from this time were Ernie Ladd is calling the white people crackers and such so I think he was pushing the envelop a bit. If I go too far, please let me know.
  11. 9/3/1985: WTVT MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE “Yello again everybody. Welcome to The Main Event a USWA and UWF promotion coming to you from Memphis Tennessee. I am Lance Russell along with Jeff Jarrett. We are under a week away from the largest wrestling event in the history of the sport; Music City Mayhem where we will see all of the great stars from the UWF compete in a week-long extravaganza where anything could happen. Basically, by the time the Tennessee State Fair is over, anyone could be the UWF Unified Champion. Let’s bring out the current champ and hear what he thinks it. Jerry Lawler comes out and really hypes up the event in Nashville and says it is so hard to prepare for Music City Mayhem as he has no idea who he is going to wrestle. MATCH RICKY GIBSON VS MELVIN KIMBALL Gibson continues on his roll since returning to the Memphis area as he wins this one by showing some great athleticism as he walks across the top rope and catches Kimball with a missile dropkick for the win. During the match, the UWF 6 Man Champions, Tommy Rich, Eddie Gilbert and Big John Studd came out and said they were a taken back last week when Ricky Gibson said that together with the Rock n Roll Express, he had plans to win the 6 man title. Tommy Rich was almost in tears he was laughing so hard and how these 3 little bandana wearing girls were going to take their titles and how it was time to teach Ricky a lesson about respect. As soon as Gibson won the match, the champs hit the ring and tried to put Ricky in his place but the Rock n Roll Express seemed to expect this and were basically at the ring at the same time. The two teams went toe to toe for a minute or two until Ricky and Robert slammed Wildfire Rich’s head into Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert’s head and the Tennessee Stud Stable stumbled through the middle ropes and out onto the floor. Big John Stud was now cornered … WHAM! A TRIPLE DROPKICK and Stud ends up on the floor with his teammates as the fan favorites end the first segment in charge of the ring. Lance Russell: Man Jeff, I can’t get enough of this stuff. COMMERCIAL BREAK Lance Russell: Well wrestling fans, if you enjoyed what we saw before our last commercial break, you are going to love this! This match has just been signed for the last day of the Tennessee State Fair and Music City Mayhem…… it will be the UWF Six Man Titles on the line as Tommy Rich, Eddie Gilbert and Big John Studd will take on the Rock n Roll Express and Ricky Gibson. The chant begins …… THE NATION….. OF DOMINATION and we hear it over and over again as Ernie Ladd and Hacksaw Reed come out. Lance Russell: Oh come on, what is this. Ernie Ladd you are not schedules for an interview tonight! Ernie Ladd: And why is that Lance. Might it be that my growing NATION OF DOMINATION is bothering the USWA Board of Directors. Might it be “THE MAN” feels challenged by my men? Well, I have heard you talking about Music City Mayhem all night but I have not heard you tell this fans that the U.S. Title holder, that Good ole Boy, Terry Gordy, is about to feel the wrath of the greatest wrestle in the business today….. Hacksaw Butch Reed. Lance Russell: Ernie, if you were not so rude as to interrupt us, we were about to bring up the U.S Title Match between your man Hacksaw Reed and Terry Gordy. Ernie Ladd: That’s right Ernie. That’s right Memphis. Hide the black man in the middle of the show! Well let me warn all these rednecks in the audience tonight. “Don’t get yourself any beer. Don’t get yourself another shot of whiskey or you will miss the entire next match. Remember: WE ARE THE NATION OF DOMINATION. MATCH HACKSAW BUTCH REED (HANDICAP MATCH) VS BUBBA DIAMOND & CLETUS JOHNSON TOTAL DESTRUCTION HERE AS WE SEE THE MOST AGGRESSIVE REED EVER. THE END COMES WHEN HACKSAW HOISTS JOHNSON UP FOR A GORILLA PRESS SLAM AND THEN WAITED FOR HIM TO STAGGER TO HIS FEET. WHAM! A FOOTBALL TACKLE THAT NEARLY SEPERATED JOHNSON”S UPPER BODY FROM HIS LOWER BODY. Before we go to our next match, both Russell and Jarrett hype up how tough Hacksaw is and how difficult it will be for Terry Gordy to leave Music City Mayhem with his title. MATCH PEZ WHATLEY DEFEATS FRANK DALTON WITH THE FLYING WILLIE (HEADBUTT) COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH JIMMY GARVIN with PRECIOUS DEFEATS KEN SHANE WITH THE BRAIN BUSTER! At the interview desk, Garvin is dancing all around as he is so excited about Music City Mayhem. First , he guarantees that he is going to win Music City Championship which Lance reminds us is a single elimination 16 man tournament. Garvin then says he will win the Gauntlet Match with all the UWF champions and then take Jerry Lawler’s title. Garvin says he doesn’t know much county music but by the time one of these fat ladies in the audience starts singing, he will be the new UWF Unified Champion! Precious loves this as she is hanging all over him. The techno music begins to play and we hear that annoying voice of Jim Cornette introduce his “greatest tag team in the sport today.” MATCH THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS DEFEATS WAYNE PETTY & JOHN KING WITH THE ALABAMA SLAMMER BY BOBBY EATON At the interview desk, Cornett is really running his mouth about how the Midnight Express are going to take the U.S. tag titles from Ronnie Girlvin and Theresa Taylor. These “girl” references bring out the champs and the Midnight Express scamper away like little cowards with Cornette leading the way. The champs get on the microphone and start making chicken noises but to no avail as the Midnight Express don’t return. The champs continue to hype up this match with the Midnight Express which will take place at Music City Mayhem! COMMERCIAL BREAK MAIN EVENT AUSTIN IDOL & SUPERSTAR DUNDEE VS THE MIDNIGHT COWBOYS (Duke Myers & Kerry Brown in masks) A nice showcase for Idol and Superstar as the they get some help from the Cowboys as the old-timers do a job a selling. Both Russell and Jarrett seemed satisfied that Idol and Dundee were on the same page going into MAYHEM! The end came with a Las Vegas Leglock by Idol on Cowboy #1. For once, USWA comes to a peaceful end as Lawler joins Idol and Dundee at the interview desk for one last hype of the big event coming up in Nashville. Lance Russell: So long from Memphis and don’t forget to join us at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville for a week of great wrestling action. Matches include · A 16 Man Single Elimination Tournament with wrestlers from all UWF promotions to claim the first ever Music City Bowl Championship · A 12 Team Single Elimination Tournament with tag teams from all UWF promotions to claim the first ever Music City Tag team Bowl Championship · A TITLE DEFENSE OF ALL 14 UWF TITLES · ALL 9 UWF SINGLE CHAMPIONS IN A GAUNTLET MATCH WITH THE WIINER TO GET A WORLD TITLE SHOT · ALL 5 UWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS IN A GAUNTLET MATCH WITH THE WINNER TO GET A WORLD TITLE SHOT · 3 WORLD TITLE MATCHES
  12. UWF NEWS....... Trouble is back! In just a few short months since loosing control of the USWA, Fritz VonErich is stirring the pot. Jerry Jarrett, wanting to focus on what he knows best, made Tennessee the pride of the USWA and allowed Ron Fuller to promote in Texas. Now, somehow, Fritz has gained control of Continental Championship Wrestling and what is the first thing he has done. Well it looks like he has rushed home and made Texas the main event for CCW. Watts and Fuller are beside themselves and it will be interesting to see how CCW is treated in Music City Mayhem which is supposed to showcase all the talent throughout the UWF. It is said that many wrestler are choosing sides and we may see defections from one UWF promotion to another. Bill Watts is actually threatening to revamp the entire UWF where there are no territories but just UWF shows! For one, Dusty Rhodes is sick of all the backstabbing and wants out but Watts knows that he can not just release his superstar wrestler. It has been said that Watts is shopping the Dream around but so far..... No takers!
  13. Enjoyed the tournament. Lots of good team to chase the Kiniski's!
  14. Lowblow... Great points about Hogan but I think that is why some people, myself included, were not huge fans of the WWF in real life. You do a great job on keeping us on our toes with such creativity but when I was a kid I always hoped someone would roll away or kick out from that leg drop but it didn't happen! Even though I grew up in NY, I became a fan of places like Georgia, Florida, Texas and the UWF. I always thought anything could happen. You are so good at planning, I am sure you have it all worked out! I have my thoughts but will have to see what happens.
  15. UWF would like the Rock n Roll Express on Sept 16
  16. The MSG card was as good as it gets! Star power from top to bottom.... The Hogan/Nikita thing is huge and makes you wonder what the WWF would be like with a heel champ. From Bruno to Backlund to Hogan, the WWF has been a baby face town where the heel champs are just holding place champs setting up the next babyface but with heels like Nikita, Gino and Savage, it makes you wonder.
  17. UWF is undecided but listening to offers on Dusty Rhodes...... John Nord (Vlad the Russian Hammer) and Baby Doll are on the block
  18. UWF is undecided but listening to offers on Dusty Rhodes...... Jihn Nord (Vlad the Russian Hammer) and Baby Doll are on the block
  19. With the open spot from the trade with Lutte, UWF picks up Mad Dog Boyd
  20. UWF sends Chris Benoit and Bobby Jaggers to Lutte for Rip Oliver and UWF's original second round draft pick
  21. Yes, my fault. Should have let everyone know that Vlad is Nord. I figured he could get away with this role with his look and body type even though he is only a rookie. Being dominate with a move a simply as a sledgehammer doesn't force him to be technically sound and also doesn't force him to be good at selling yet. In the ring, he looks good but doesn't really do anything.
  22. I think the NWA is on to something...... FLAIR VS MARTEL IN A COMPLETE FEUD WILL BE EPIC! Nice little angle with the Machines stealing the title and bringing it back to Japan. Who will step up to stop it? Good to see some SMW guys getting a paycheck...... any word from Boon. I miss his style.
  23. The clown angle is a HIT!
