Continental Championship Wrestling July 1985

Very nice booking. The Exotic Superstars! The Stud Stable going after the Road Warriors could make them the Golden Studs! -
I have been proven wrong again. I questioned the Machine angle and didn't really love it until I saw those painted faces. Great planning and now I must admit, it is classic!

I must say that I am very interested in this very calm and respectful Dory Funk. It will be interesting to see how long this calmness continues and what eventually causes it to blow up.

There is no way Lutte or anyone else should deal with a teenager who thinks he is bigger then the whole company!! Follow the New England Patriots way where team comes first! Punish the Rockers severely.

JWA July 1985 - JWA Japanese Championship Tournament

Japan must be loving all these big names in one place and so am I as I am finally getting familiar with this new style of wrestling shows. Thanks for helping me out here. -
Again my lack of wrestling knowledge appears.... What is a side bump?

Just the way a supercard should be.... huge match after huge match with surprise after surprise. So many turns and twists here that everyone had to leave the Metrodome exhausted. From the return of Jimmy Garvin to his heel turn, to the appearance of KKB in the syndicate 6 to his immediate turn to Sarge's team to the return of Don Muraco. To see a match like Bockwinkle vs Race and not have it be the biggest match on an AWA card shows how strong your roster is. One of the reasons is your slow, patient development of the youngsters and midcarders. Al Perez is now a champion, Lex is in title matches, Mick Foley has found an angle that works and is quickly building a name for himself. One of the best balanced and planned promotions out there.

These cards show a lot of long term planning and were fun reads.

UWF would like Jerry Lawler on Dec 5,7,12,14,19,21,26 and 28

Very fun card. Any of those matches would have been great to see. I think the Abdullah-Lawler No DQ match needs a little more TV time to hype as I see a NO DQ stipulation as part of a feud or someone coming to be the savior. Can't wait for Flair-Martel! Piper took this card from good to great all by himself. He was so big in the Mid-Atlantic and his return would be epic. JJ Dillion was causing havoc at the Bash. Wonder if it will continue or if someone will put him in his place.

Talk about opposites... Tiger Mask vs Brody. That would have been awesome to watch. Like seeing a UWF Title in Japan. GO BAM BAM -
I am so excited for this Flair-Martel match. Let's go NWA! Time for the big boys to shine.

Even drunk, Vince has good ideas.

I really enjoyed this show. For the better part of this game, writers have put Carlos Colon on their roster and they knew he was a top star but had no idea of what to do with him. I used him for a few run-ins and big matches but never really gave him a shot. He is now in the perfect place. Ayala-Jovica is a a great angle. We still have no idea of who the heel will be and this will become one of the biggest angles you have. Chicky Starr-Omar Atlas segment was classic. The Hogan reference was hilarious but I could see someone doing that. Tamba is also in a prefect situation. By his look and resemblance to the Butcher he could be a huge star. Keep up the good work!

One of my favorite hobbies! Thanks to all.

NWA Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling June 1985
kevinmcfl replied to agentofenton's topic in Promotions
Enjoyed the shows from Florida. Superstar Graham was big in Florida and could get a nice push here. I would love to see Flair have a huge blowout feud with some of the top stars of the NWA like Funk or Martel. -
Very creative to say the least. This will take some getting used to in terms of the roster and name changes. GENOAN NECKTIE is a cool name for a finisher.

The Stud Stable War is great. Honky Tonk fits fine as he along with Rich and GIlbert are the UWF 6 Man Champs so he has always been a part of this stable. The Golden Spike on a Pole Match was classic Southern style wrestling and would have been nerve rattling to watch. Good vs Evil with a "demonic" twist. Monday Nights at the Boutwell might just be the most consistent show in the country right now! -
I must say that there are so many feuds going on here that there is something for everyone. The names are Hall of Fame worthy all throughout the roster and I enjoy that you have some master plan as to when each gets a major push. This roster and organization allows your format to work everywhere in the country and really worldwide. I am also rooting for that complete heel turn by Savage as it just feels right. This would lead nicely to Hogan-Savage down the road....maybe even Wrestlemania II I am unsure of how many hair matches there were in the WWF but I hope this one ends with NOBODY getting their hair cut. The Machine angle is not my favorite and would love to see the masks come off.
