9:05-10:05 MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE “Yello again everybody. Welcome to UWF and USWA Wrestling from Memphis, Tennessee and the WMC Studio. I am Lance Russell along with Gary Hart. We have a jam packed show tonight but first let’s get to the video tape from this week in Nashville where USWA Champion Kerry Von Erich took on Jimmy Garvin. VIDEO MATCH: USWA CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH KERRY VON ERICH VS JIMMY GARVIN with PRECIOUS With the World Title on the line for Kerry and the service of Precious on the line for Garvin this one is wild from the get go. We get a little ref bump here late as Precious comes into the ring with the loaded purse. Garvin is holding Kerry but he slips out as the last second and Precious knocks her own man out cold. The ref stumbles over and not only does Kerry retain the title, he gets the services of Precious for the next 90 days. When the video ends we see Kerry coming to the interview desk but he is alone. When asked where Precious is, he just laughs. Kerry hypes up his victory and reminds Garvin he should not bet things he can’t afford to lose. He asks everybody to take a look at Precious on the video screen where we see her working at the Von Erich farm. She is cleaning out stalls, milking cows, feeding the chickens and last we see her fall in the slop while tending to the pigs. Everyone has a good laugh except for Ernie Ladd who finds it disgusting how the VonErichs are treating a classy lady like Precious. Kerry tells Ladd not to worry, that Precious will be in the building later when he and Iceman take on Garvin and his new partner, Rip Rogers! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MATCH: UWF WORLD TV TITLE MATCH BILLY JACK HAYNES VS WARRIOR A huge opportunity here for the impressive rookie but it was just a little too soon. The match was full of power moves but in the end, it was Billy Jack’s experience that allowed him to wiggle free before being nailed with a running power slam. He quickly connected with a neckbreaker which softened Warrior up for the Full Nelson for the submission victory. Both men shook hands here as even Ernie Ladd said this rookie has a bright future. MATCH: RUSHER KIMURA VS KING COBRA An almost identical repeat from Kimura’s debut last week here in the USWA. Just a complete massacre of poor, King Cobra. Kimura was very impressive with such moves as a double arm suplex and some massive chops that echoed throughout the building. The end came after Rusher did little to endear him to the USWA fans as he gave the throat slashing kill sign to the crowd before nearly decapitating the young Jimmy Del Ray with a powerful Running Lariat. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- JIMMY SNUKA with Gary Hart VS MIKE JACKSON Pure beating here that ends with a SuperFly Death Leap! At the interview desk, Gary Hart continues to put pressure on Kerry VonErich to give his man a USWA Title Shot! Lance tells Hart he should just sit back and watch the next match and make sure his man is ready for Kerry! This really angered Hart and Snuka! MATCH: RIP ROGERS & JIMMY GARVIN VS KERRY VON ERICH & ICEMAN PARSONS A fun match here that shows Kerry force Precious to hold the ropes down for him to enter. This really got Garvin mad as the heels tried to attack before the bell. Kerry and Iceman were ready for this and handled the onslaught. We get some quick tags once things are settled down but the heels play it real dirty and trap Iceman who takes a good beating. Eventually Kerry comes in like a house afire and catches Rip Rogers with a tornado punch for the victory. Precious just seems to have eyes for Garvin and she looks over her shoulder as she is forced to leave with the winners! WHAM! Snuka is all over Kerry as Hart’s other two monsters, Fatu and the Tonga Kid take care of Iceman. Precious seems to be enjoying this and is having a great laugh! As we go to commercial break, Gary Hart seems to have answered Lance’s question and now everyone is wondering if Kerry is ready for Snuka! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MAIN EVENT: USWA #1 CONTENDERS MATCH THE ROAD WARRIORS with Paul Ellering VS THE ROCK N ROLL EXPRESS Here we go! These might be the two biggest names in tag team wrestling in the entire world and they are fighting to become the #1 contenders for the UWF World Titles. As the action begins, Lance Russell does inform us that we only have about 10 minutes left in today’s show. The match is like three different matches all in one. First we see the Rock n Roll Express running the ropes and doing their best to keep their distance from the Road Warriors. In part two, we see the Rock n Roll Express to continue with the advantage but now they are doing their best to neutralize the power of the Road Warriors with some arm bars and leg locks. Eventually the Road Warriors catch the Express being a little too cute and this is where the power goes on display. Clotheslines, body slams, Ax Handle Smashes. It was just brutal but what was so amazing that the Rock n Roll Express manages to make save after save. With about one minute left in the show, Morton made his customary tag to Gibson who comes in like a house afire but after a few drop kicks, Animal recovers enough to simply catch him. He tags in Hawk who climbs to the top rope and with his signature top rope leaping clothesline, Gibson crashes to the mat right on his head. Morton is still too hurt to make the save and the Road Warriors are the new #1 contenders for the title! Lance Russell: So long from Tulsa. Don’t forget to join us this week in San Antonio where the Main Event has just been signed. It will be Jimmy Snuka, Fatu and Tonga Kid with Gary Hart vs the VonErichs

Great show as always! Love Jesse Anderson! When you need something, just create it! -
Love the part with the crowd chanting Lutte! You guys are too funny.
-
Great thought process here! You really worked your angles all the way through with the building up of the arrival of the Machines as well as getting some more depth to your tag team division.

Now I admit I have never heard of Cullman, Alabama but that has to be the best show ever there. A grudge match,a Pearl Harbor attack by the Andersons, HTM and the "papers," and then those two main events with a title change! Such a fun show. Please start to use some of the UFW titles as I can't wait to see what yo have instore for them. -
TULSA, OKLAHOMA Hello again everybody. Welcome to UWF & Mid-South Wrestling from Tulsa, Oklahoma and the Tulsa Convention Center here on WTBS. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd. Let’s begin todays show with some highlights from that big card in Oklahoma City and the match for the North American Title between Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Ted Dibiase. VIDEO MATCH NORTH AMERICAN TITLE HACKSAW JIMM DUGGAN VS TED DIBIASE The finish from this brawl is wild as we see Dibiase in control. After ramming Duggan’s head into the steel ring post Duggan is busted open. Dibiase turns away from the ref and seems to be loading up that black glove of his. He comes in and throws a wild haymaker that Duggan ducks under. Duggan hits the ropes and comes off we a massive football tackle but before he can make the cover, the rest of the Rat Pack, Eric Embry and Buddy Landell rush in and attack Duggan. Duggan might have won this match by DQ but he looks a little worse for wear. Jim Duggan is at the interview desk where he is screaming about getting even with the entire Rat Pack and he demands a rematch with Dibiase this week in New Orleans at the Lake Front Area! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- Before we get back to the action, Jim Ross informs us that Hacksaw Duggan has completely lost his mind and has signed a contract to face the entire Rat Pack by himself and if he loses, Ted Dibiase will get a title shot in two weeks in Little Rock, Arkansas. Ladd is laughing at how stupid Duggan is and he can’t wait to see the Rat Pack take him apart. For once, even Jim Ross thinks Ladd might be correct. DUSTY RHODES VS THE CUBAN ASSASSIN The Cuban Assassin does a good job of getting some heat from the crowd as he is waving the Cuban flag around and screaming about how disgusting America is. This just makes the crowd pop even more for the American Dream. In the end, Dusty had to rally as he did have some trouble with the Assassins power. Dusty gave his signature shaking as his adrenaline got flowing. The Assassins blows began to have no effect on Rhodes who blocked a right hand and followed it up with three straight Bionic Elbows. For good measure, Rhodes added a piledriver and claimed victory here. After the match, The American Dream is so excited by the news of the UWF. Dusty Rhodes: Mr. Jim Ross! There is justice in America! I was cheated by two snakes in the grass. Ted Dibiase and Jerry Lawler! I was not allowed another USWA Title Shot until 1986. Now I hear that there is going to be a Unified World Title! That’s right baaaaby! THE UWF will unify the wrestling world and guess who plans on being the first Champ! That’s right, little old me! I may be blue collared all the way. I might wear denim hats all the time. But one thing is for sure. The best part of my wardrobe is Gold Belts and that UWF Title will fit my flabby belly perfectly. As the Dream walks away Jim Ross has no choice but to chuckle as Ernie Ladd is grumbling something. As Rhodes leaves, we get the 6 Man champs at the interview desk. Where Dr. Death, Gordy and Manny Fernandez hype their feud with the Sheiks. All three are disgusted how Reed, Patera and Blackwell can turn their backs on America just to get their hands in the pockets of a lowlife like Akbar. Ernie Ladd tells them that they should stop whining and get used to the fact that you all are about to lose those belts of yours. Dr. Death: You hear that Bam Bam? It’s time you get back on your game and not make me do all the heavy lifting. Before Gordy has a chance to respond, the Sheiks attack from behind. With the advantage of a sneak attack, Reed, Patera and Blackwell were unstoppable. The champs were scattered all around the arena when all of a sudden, a one person cavalry tries to make the save. Jim Ross: Good God almighty! It’s Freebird Michael Hayes and he is trying to save the day for the Miracle Violence Committee. Reed, Patera and Blackwell nearly kill Hayes as Ross is heard saying, “As God is my witness, I think Michael Hayes has been broken in half.” When Gordy finally comes to, he sees Hayes lying next to him and he has a confused look on his face. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- Here we get a taped interview from the Dallas, Texas and the Rock n Roll Express who admit that they might just be the underdogs next week in the match against the Road Warriors but that they will give it their all and do everything they can against the Road Warriors to ensure that they get a title shot against the Perfect Alliance. When the video ends, the Road Warriors are at the interview desk and all fired up! Paul Ellering: “It doesn’t matter if the Rock n Roll Express give it their all or not. They are simply going to get the beating of their lives and then the Road Warriors will move on to those two punks, Bobby Eaton and Arn Anderson! Baby Doll, you better get your last little cuddle with your boys as my men are coming to take their belts and there aint nothing you or anybody else can do about it! MATCH: BIG BUBBA ROGERS VS JYD Big Bubba Rogers is getting better and better and almost stuns the crowd with a defeat on their beloved JYD. Bubba connected with a sidewalk slam but JYD kicked out at 2. JYD recovered and eventually connected with a Big Thump (powerslam) and claimed the victory. Ernie Ladd hyped up Big Bubba and even went so far as to say that if he was to put together Ladd’s Army again, he might seriously think about adding Big Bubba Rogers. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MATCH: KIWI SHEEPHERDERS (JONATHAN BOYD & RIP MORGAN) VS MIKE GRAHAM & MIKE JACKSON Here we get Jonathan Boyd and a new Sheepherders, Rip Morgan who are as intimidating as they come. They come out wearing long capes and waving around a flag. They hit the ring and attack right away and it typical Sheepherder fashion, this is nothing about wrestling but more about just beating the crap out of the blokes in the ring. The contest finally came to an end after the 6’4 275 pound beast, Rip Morgan connected with freighting powerbomb! Jim Ross: The Sheepherders are back! Now these are some words that wrestling fans around this area didn’t want to hear! So long from Tulsa! SHOW ENDS WITH PROMOS FROM THIS WEEKS BIG CARD AT THE MYRIAD IN OKLAHOMA CITY WHERE THE MAIN EVENT WILL BE NORTH AMERICAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs the entire Rat Pack in an elimination match.

Perfect. Sometimes hard staying up on everybody's work but don't want to miss a thing. This site is like reading Pro Wrestling Illustrated back in 85!

If nobody else has a tag team for you I can always send you another one for night two. It could be Arn and Eaton, Rich & Gilbert, Crusher Blackwell and Ken Patera, or the Freebirds in some form -
I enojoy your letters and Gordi's behind the scene stuff even more then many of the wrestling events. Keep up the good work.
-
Interesting card for the people in Montreal. Was the tape fist match between 2 heels, which is not a problem but I want to make sure I didn't miss a turn or an angle?
-
Great show with lots of great angles being set up as you go forward. I enjoyed how the Foreign Legion went right t the top. A good heel team can really get the fans into a show and that is exactly what they will do for you. I must say that I was surprised to see Steel win the belt. I always saw him as a nice mid card gimmick or a JTTS but I am excited to seed how he acts as a champion.
-
Great card! I love how you were so kind to those wrestlers going out! Bam Bam is a perfect fit here for you and hope Murdoch gives you what you want.
-
Great shows. You do a great job of getting me interested in your angles right away. I love the Gama Singh idea and I think you have a good thing going with Starr vs Kernodle.
-
After sending some wrestlers over to Smoky Mountain, the UWF roster needed a little revamp UWF releases Plowboy Frazier, Ted Arcidi, Skip Young (Sweet Brown Sugar), , King Cobra and Art Crews and adds Buzz Tyler and Kendo Nagasaki
-
That is perfect. All of the people on the retirement list could be used as managers, announcers, behind the scene guys and can wrestle a couple of shows here and there. If you want him, he is yours as is the Mongolian Stomper.
-
If anyone sees any other problems in free agency let me know and I will get it updated.
-
Hugo Savinovich did not wrestle from the end of 1984 to 1991 and only had 4 more matches so he is on the retirement list. I have added the Mongolian Stomper to free agency.
-
Nice little history lesson here! Also, the WWF continues to run on all cylinders. Maybe because I always hated Hogan in the WWF, I think I am on Edger's side and like your B roster better.
-
Sonny King should be on the retirement list since he only wrestled 2 matches after 1984 One in 1986 and one in 1991. He should only be used as a one and off guy.
-
Boon, I would help you in anyway I could.
-
I agree with Gene. I knew so little about Luche libre before and your letters seem to clear up so much for me. It is great that this game has become a showcase of wrestling around the world in 1985
-
I agree with Gene. I know absolutely nothing of wrestling in Japan unless they spent so time in the U.S. but I find your style of writing, the mix of American wrestlers on each card and the whole thing about the Japanese focusing on tournaments really fun to read. You have been a wonderful addition to our game! What took you so long to hop on board?
