  1. USWA reunites the Memphis Bruise Brothers by adding the Dream Machine.....Troy Graham.
  2. Starrcade is really shaping up nicely Another fun show here. The NWA really has a World feel now with Lutte. You two have something special here. Keep it up.
  3. Kabuki is already stateside! He is with me in the USWA. Magic Dragon is also listed on our free agent list so he could be picked up already.
  4. Porkchop Cash to the USWA
  5. Lance VonErich seems to be missing. He was on Gene's roster but I don't see him anymore.
  6. USWA will draft Chris Benoit and then drop out of the draft
  7. uSWA takes boss man Ray Traylor
  8. Nice job here. Love how your angles are developing. The Brawl to End it All should be a great show. Your roster is really shaping up nicely and should keep the WWF on top throughout 85.
  9. I like how you are working closely with the NWA. Gives Lutte some added power as a big time promotion. Also love your creativity and how you keep developing all your angles. I must say that the Missing Link victory surprised me and that it what makes Lutte so fun to read. Wonder how Jacques will heal in time for his next big match. Starrcade 84 should be great!
  10. WOW! Did not see Tito Santana leaving the AWA! Always wonderful in wrestling to be surprised. I also agree with Edger in that Martel ad Steamboat would be top notch. I believe if they were together in real life, they would soon be wearing gold! Can't wait to see where you take this.
  11. 12/9/1984: WTBS 9:05-10:05 LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA “Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Lake Charles, Louisiana and the Lake Charles Civic Center. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.” The show starts with Ross and Ladd talking about the disgusting action we saw yesterday on WTBS when Michael Hayes attempted to blind Dr. Death Steve Williams. It is during this discussion that we hear “Freebird” start to blare from the speakers and all three of the devious tag team along with Precious strut out to the interview desk. Michael Hayes: No reason to talk about us like we are not hear. If you have something to say Jim Ross, at least have the guts to say it to our faces. Jim Ross: Ok then. What you did yesterday and what you did to Terry Gordy are the most heinous acts I have ever seen in wrestling. No change that. They are the most heinous acts I have seen anywhere in my life. You should be in jail for your actions. Micahel Hayes: Listen up brother. We are the Freebirds. We come from Bad Street, Atlanta GA! We don’t give an inch. We don’t ask for an inch. We take the whole mile and if you can’t handle that and if the Miracle Violence Committee can’t handle that, then it is just TOO BAD! Gordy wanted to play with the Devil and then complains “oooh, oooh, I my eyes. My eyes! I can’t see.” What is he stupid? Play with fire, go blind by the fire. Now the rest of the Miracle Violence Committee is upset that they got beat by the Freebirds last night on TV. Well again. That is just TOO BAD. All of a sudden, Cowboy Bill Watts comes out to the set. Jim Ross: Finally, someone who can do something about this animal. Please fine him. Please suspend him. The crowd starts chanting….. “Fire Hayes…… Fire Hayes.” Cowboy Bill Watts: I will not fine Michael Hayes. I will not suspend him. Michael Hayes: Finally, the USWA has the courage to stand up to these obnoxious fans. Cowboy Bill Watts: I think I will do what you original asked for Jim Ross. I am going to have Michael Hayes….. Arrested! Four Louisiana State Police come out and handcuff Michael Hayes. The rest of the Freebirds are unsure of what to do make a move towards the officers who warn them to back up or they will be going to jail also! Jim Ross: Finally! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MATCH: JYD (NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION) VS FIDEL SIERRA A nice showcase here for the Dog as beats the hated Cuban here in quick fashion with a well-executed Thump for the victory in just under 4 minutes. For the second straight week JYD runs into Devastation Inc. as he is leaving the arena. Again he and Hacksaw Reed have some words. Instead of leaving, JYD stands by the interview desk as listens to Akbar give his babble about the Devastation Inc. Submission Challenge. $10,000 DEVASTATION INC. SUBMISSION CHALLENGE In the ring are Hacksaw Reed, The Iron Sheik, Black Blood and Mr. Texas along with Skandar Akbar. Akbar is on the mic telling us all just how dangerous his men are and then nobody can last even 1 minute once they get you in their clutches. He goes on to say that he will give $10,000 to anybody who can last just 60 seconds in either Hacksaw Reed’s Bearhug, Mr. Texas’s Iron Claw, The Iron Sheik’s Camel Clutch or Black Blood’s Swinging Full Nelson. JYD: Just wanted to make sure this was official. All of a sudden “Another One Bites the Dust” begins to blare from the speakers and the crowd literally explodes. Jim Ross: I can’t believe it, it looks like the Dog has accepted Akbar’s challenge. It will be real interesting to see who he chooses. JYD rushes to the ring and shows no fear of the rest of Devastation Inc. He quickly points right at Reed as Akbar is staggering backwards and can’t believe that JYD is in the ring. As JYD is getting ready to be put in the Bearhug by Reed, the camera catches Akbar and the rest of Devastation Inc. having a little pow wow in the corner. Ref Pee Wee Anderson orders Akbar and the rest of Devastation Inc. out of the ring and then tells JYD to get next to Reed. Reed appears to be sweating a bit and locks his huge arms around the Dog and begins to squeeze with all his might. Dog is struggling and begins to push Reed’s face away to alleviate some of the pressure. 15 Seconds in and JYD is in obvious pain and appears to be trying to get his arms between Reed’s to break the hold. 30 seconds in, JYD extends his arms and then smashes them together engulfing Reed’s head. WHAM… one blow to Reed’s head WHAM… another blow to Reed’s head WHAM… a third blow to Reed’s head and Hacksaw is staggering and drops to one knee. He still kind of has the Bearhug on but it is obvious Dog will last the minute. WHAM…. The rest of Devastation has hit the ring and they are all over the Dog. Pee Wee Anderson immediately calls for the bell but Devastation Inc. is in full war mode now. Jim Ross is hyping up the fact that JYD has won the $10,000 but Ladd is not so sure as the minute never expired. All of a sudden, the 3 VonErich brothers rush out and Devastation Inc. is now battling 4 on 4. Soon the fan favorites regain the ring and their foe head for higher ground. Ross hypes up the relationship between the Dog and the VonErich brothers while Ladd thinks the VonErichs should be suspended for interfering tonight but he knows that will never happen because of who their father is. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- The segment starts with a quick video from the University of Tennessee Medical Center where we get to see Terry Gordy being released from the hospital. We get a quick interview from the doctor who lets us know that Gordy’s vision has not improved and only time will tell if he will ever see again. Gordy is wheeled to the door where we see him getting out of the wheel chair and then handed a walking stick. Awkwardly, he is guided to a car by an elderly women who we are lead to believe is his mother. She guides him to the car and then we watch it drive away. After the video, Jim Ross hopes that when Gordy hears about what just happened to Michael Hayes but he understands that Gordy has a long road ahead of him and wishes him luck. MATCH THE FABULOUS ONES VS THE OUTLAWS (Ron Bass & Bobby Jaggers) The Fab Ones really get the crowd going with their entrance. Some loud music, Tuxedos, Top Hats, and a few kisses for the women in attendance and the Lake Charles Civic Center is rocking! A nice 8 minute match here with the Fabulous Ones controlling about 70% of the action. The end came after a nice double back suplex on Jaggers. Ones again, Ross and Ladd discuss this crowded tag team division. Ross is sure that the Fab Ones are worthy of a title shot but Ladd, of course, disagrees. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- Jim Ross and Ernie Ladd really hype up our main event as it is an mixed gender match between Madusa and the World USWA Tag Team Champions, the Von Erich bothers against Baby Doll and the Perfect Alliance (Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton). MATCH KEVIN & KERRY VONERICH & MADUSA MICELI VS BABY DOLL AND THE PERFECT ALLIANCE The rules for the match were that the men had to wrestle the men and the women could only face each other. While watching the match, you almost felt sorry for ref Pee Wee Anderson. It was impossible for him to keep control. Every time, he had order restored, it quickly broke down to either 4 people in the ring at once or even at times all 6 were involved in a Pier 6 Brawl! As you would expect, TV time expired before there was a winner as Ross wondered who would become the first ever USWA Women’s Champion and Ladd pushed for the Perfect Alliance to get one more title shot. Jim Ross: So long from Lake Charles, Oklahoma. Don’t forget to join us this Tuesday Night in Baton Rouge at the Cajundome. Next week will be back in the great state of Texas and wrestling’s most famous arena, The Sportatorium in downtown Dallas, Texas. As the screen fades to black with see promotions for the event in Baton Rouge.
  12. Yes welcome Stennick... Wrestlingdata.com says Billy Anderson was also known as Bill Colt and Mercenario #1. He held a few titles in WWA
  13. Can we all check our rosters and the free agent list to make sure it is correct for the new guys to draft from. Mike Graham and Loch Ness are on my actually roster but are also listed in Free Agency. Also Kelly Kiniski and Mike Graham are listed twice in free agency.
  14. Welcome Stennick. Anything you need, just ask. Always here to help.
  15. I believe Ricky Johnson is Rocky's brother. Not sure about the other.
  16. 12/8/1984: WTBS 9:05-10:05 LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA “Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Lake Charles, Louisiana and the Lake Charles Civic Center. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.” Let’s get right to the ring MATCH TED DIBIASE VS BRIAN ADIAS A nice 7 minute match where Dibiase controlled about 75 percent of the match. The end came with a Figure 4 which Dibiase kept on a little bit longer then need be. After the bout Dibiase went over to the interview desk to hype up his 3 Corner World Championship Match in a few weeks at the HemisFair Arena against Champion, Dusty Rhodes and Harley Race. Ted Dibiase: “I understand that the USWA Board of Directors is so afraid of Ted Dibiase and the Rat Pack that every time I get a Title Match they come up with some gimmick to make sure I don’t win the belt. Last time they added Hacksaw Reed into my North American Title bout with JYD. This time Rhodes is so afraid of me that he begged the USWA to add Harley Race to make sure I don’t win. Jim Ross: I am not sure that it was the American Dream who asked for Race to be added to work against you. Trust you me Mr. Dibiase, Rhodes and Race are not really on good terms. Ernie Ladd: Never trusted Dusty Rhodes Ted Dibiase: That’s for sure. Ross you should listen your partner. You may learn something. But as I was saying, it doesn’t matter who you put in the ring with me, I am going to come out on top. How convenient that Rhodes is not here tonight. Even though I just wrestled, I would take that title right off his fat waist and claim what is going to be mine in just a few short weeks. Jim Ross: Mr. Dibiase, if you wish to prove yourself some more tonight, Harley Race is in the building. Ted Dibiase: Now why would I do that? Thank you for your time. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MATCH DR. DEATH STEVE WILLIAMS VS TERRY TAYLOR The first singles match for Williams in a long time as he has been busy defending the 6 man world title but with Gordy out with the eye injury he is alone tonight to face one of the best the USWA has to offer. The match is a long drawn out bout for TV as it goes about 10 minutes. While it is back and forth, it seems like Williams was just too powerful for Adams to sustain the offense. In the end it was Williams finishing off Taylor with the Oklahoma Stampede. This is where the trouble began as the Freebirds knew that had a numbers advantages rushed to the ring and began a three on one attack. After a few minutes of a good beating, we see Hayes start to get excited as he reaches into the purse of Precious and pulls out the same jar of cream that blinded Bam Bam. As Roberts and Garvin hold Williams down, Hayes reaches in a gets a huge glob of the cream on his fingers and he starts to placate to the crowd! Just before he can get to Williams, the crowd pops as Manny Fernandez and the VonErichs hit the ring. Manny and the 3 brothers know have the numbers as we see that Kerry went right for Hayes and connected with a huge Tornado Punch to ensure that he didn’t blind anyone. Fernandez is like a bull in a china closet and is knocking everyone out of the ring. The crowd pops as the Miracle Violence Committee embrace the VonErichs and thank them for their aid. Jim Ross can’t believe that Hayes would try that eye cream stunt again and believes that the USWA should suspend him. As you would expect, Ernie Ladd has a different opinion and believes it should be the VonErich brothers who are suspended as they had no right to be in the ring. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MATCH: USWA WORLD TV TITLE MATCH MANIAC MATT BORNE with Special Enforcer to the Rat Pack, Loch Ness VS BRETT WAYNE SAWYER A well-executed math here as both wrestlers are pretty technically sound. In the end, Borne is aided by the 700 pound monster Loch Ness who climbed up onto the apron and distracted Ref Bronco Lubich. This allowed Borne to get the victory with what appeared to be a blow with a foreign object and then a fist full of tights for the pin. MATCH SUPER STRONG NINJA VS DAN SPIVEY with Gary Hart Both Ross and Ladd are intrigued by this bout as the young Spivey has been real good of late. In this bout he gives a really solid 8 minutes before succumbing to a Sit-down Powerbomb by the Super Strong Ninja. In a real interesting interview, Gary Hart praises the young Spivey and says that he gave his man the best bout he has had in a while. Hart wonders aloud as to what Spivey could become under his tutelage. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MAIN EVENT: HACKSAW DUGGAN & WILDFIRE TOMMY RICH VS DEVASTATION INC. (Iron Sheik & Black Blood with Skandar Akbar) Ross and Ladd really give us a good update on all the quality tag teams in the USWA and they both agree that these are two of the best. They just disagree as to which is better. As for the bout, it is a wild, back and forth match. The heels took the early advantage when the Iron Sheik rushed Wildfire before the bell sounded and clocked him with the flag pole while ref Scrappy McGowan was warning Akbar to stay clear of the ring. Eventual Rich got going and when he tagged in Duggan all hell broke loose. The action was now mostly 4-4 and it seemed like the ref was on the verge of losing control. This is when Rich whipped Black Blood into the ropes and Black Blood clocked Akbar. Rich followed this up with a running clothesline that caused Black Blood to flip over the ropes and land on Akbar. Sheik rushed the ring to try and get revenge on Rich and these two went at it in the center of the ring. Duggan, on the floor, rounded the corner and hit a perfectly timed football tackle on Black Blood just as he was getting up. Black Blood hit the steel barricade and was in serious trouble. There is a moan from the crowd…. As the ref finished counting out Black Blood giving the victory to Rich and Duggan……. WHAM! The fans saw then coming but the camera never did. It was the Rat Pack with Dibiase directing traffic. The Wham…. It was Loch Ness rushing at Duggan and connecting with a huge 700 pound smush of Duggan into the ring apron. With Duggan taken out, we saw Rich try to do his best against Dibiase, Dick Slater, Matt Borne, and the Iron Sheik. Needless to say this did not go well and as the show came to an end Jim Ross was fearful of serious injury to Duggan and Wildfire.
  17. I can give up 5 or 6 if it helps. The only thing I ask is that if they are not drafted, they be allowed to be returned to their original rosters
  18. I also spoke with someone on this site who has posted comments on our promotions, Spaldoni and he seemed interested. Looks like we are headed in the right direction.
  19. Was looking on wrestlingdata.com and it says that Dean Malenko wrestled in 1985 along with Jimmy Del Rey. Can we add them to the Fresh Face Draft.
  20. Sorry if it came across as criticism.... I really loved it. Why back ourselfs into corners due to history. Maybe if some of the original bookers were more creative, they might not have had to close shop. This is a hobby for each of us. Do as we want! Have fun.
  21. Nice show! Thanksgiving Thunder is going to be fun. HHH from CT was a great promo!
  22. While we may be pushing things a bit historically with the three corner matches and the 4 team elimination matches, I find it a lot of fun to read. I hope you don't take that the wrong way as I am most guilty of this and actually Love It! Hindsight is 20/20 and we know what works and what doesn't. That elimination tag match would be an ESPN Instant Classic. That was one tough night for the ZAMBUIE EXPRESS! The wrestled Poisson & Mascaras, The Midnight Express, The Samoans and the Rougue Brothers in just over an hour of action. That alone makes them one of the best teams in the game right now. Bockwinkle/Hogan in the WWF and Valentine/Martel in Lutte have my complete attention right now. These feuds would have me checking the local news stand each day for the latest edition of Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
  23. Agreed! Even though I live in NY, I was never a WWF fan. I was always into the Wrastling scene of the southern promotions but your WWF version has really got me excited.
  24. Do we need to be aware of other Japanese Tours other than the ones you listed?
  25. Now business is about to pick up! Lutte with its top two stars going at it! Greg Valentine vs Rick Martel! SHOWTIME!
