  1. USWA would like Abdullah on June 7,14,21,28 and Bruiser Brody and Mil on June 5,12
  2. Sorry for posting that show here.
  3. USWA WRESTLING: 5/27/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 7:05-10:05 FROM THE HOUSTON COUNTY FARM CENTER DOTHAN, ALABAMA “Yello again everybody. Welcome to DON’T TREAD ON ME and USWA Wrestling here on WTBS. I am Gordon Solie. We have a jam packed show tonight but before we get to the ring, we have one programming note to inform you of. Mr. Saito and The Great Kabuki have been replaced in their National Tag Team Title Match due to an injury suffered by Saito. Don’t worry fans, they have been replaced by a team that needs no introduction. OLE & ARN ANDERSON! USWA NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH HACKSAW BUTCH REED VS ERNIE LADD (STEEL CAGE: LOSER LEAVES USWA FOR 30 DAYS) A violent opening match with a lot at stake. Reed is able to control the early tempo as he is just a bit too fast and powerful for Ladd but Ladd is in his element here inside of the steel cage. Ladd begins to use his 6’9 frame to his advantage and chops away at Reed until he goes down. Ladd uses the cage to his advantage as he grinds Reed face into the steel and busts him open. Ladd connected with two Big Boots and it looked like we were going to have a new champ but Reed kicked out at the count of 2 both times. Reed then ducked under a huge chop and connected with a big right hand of his own. From hear it was a body slam followed up with a Gorilla Press Slam. It appeared that Reed could get the pin here but instead he climbed to the top rope. As Ladd finally staggered to his feet. Reed leaped off with the nastiest spear ever seen in wrestling. Ladd was down and Reed got the easy three count at 16:32. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ PIPER’S PIT with Special Guests Jerry Lawler (This gives them time to take down the cage) Roddy Piper struts out wearing his kilt while the bag pipes blow. He is getting heckled like you would not believe but he seems to be welcoming it. After he antagonizes the fans for a few minutes insulting their breeding and their poverty, he calls out his next guest, Jerry “The King” Lawler who might be the only person who could have been boo louder than Piper. Lawler gives it back to these fans just like Piper did and then he quickly turns his attention to Tommy Rich who he will face later tonight for the World Title. He kind of chuckles as he goes through all the henchmen that he has sent after Wildfire in the past weeks including Kendo Nagasaki, Carlos Colon, One Man Gang, Crusher Blackwell and his favorite, Mr. Wrestling II. He goes over the joy he felt every time Rich was hit with a kendo stick, a steel pipe, a top rope splash from Blackwell or a Million Dollar Knee Lift from Wrestling II. Piper now asks about a recent match in the Mid-South Coliseum between Lawler and Austin Idol when a masked man rushed into the ring and threw a fireball into the face of Lawler causing him some serious burns and also costing him his NWA Southern Title. Lawler turns real serious now and you can see the anger in his eyes. He says he knows that masked man was Wildfire Rich and he is here tonight in this hick town to for one reason and one reason only. TO GET EVEN WITH RICH and take his so called World Title back with him to Memphis and civilization. He promises one thing, that he will never again return to this Hell Hole they call a wrestling venue. Lawler wants to know what the smell is in the Farm Center because he can’t tell the differences between the pigs in the stands and the pigs in the pen in the back. The fans are wild with anger now! Piper ends the interview by wishing Lawler luck and Lawler jumps right in by saying this is not going to be about luck. I paid lots of people this month to take luck out of it and Rich is a shell of the bad wrestler he was before. Piper says that he has another thing in common with Lawler in that he will never again return to Dothan, Alabama. He continues on saying that when USWA President allowed Tony Atlas and Hacksaw Reed to steal his title this week when Atlas was the guest referee he concluded that this organization is just too corrupt for someone of his stature to deal with. Piper says he has a message for Eddie Graham, the USWA and all of this welfare fans here tonight. Piper sticks up his middle finger and says, I QUIT! Piper drops the microphone and walks out to the loudest cheers ever heard in the USWA but that was because the fans were excited they would never see Piper agains. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ DR. D DAVID SCHULTZ VS BAM BAM BIGELOW A wild back and forth match that shows the power of both men but it is Bigelow’s agility that really awes the crowd. After blocking Dr. D’s attempt at the piledriver, Bigelow caught Schultz with a huge right hand. He followed that up with an awesome power slam. He should have gone for the pin but instead decided to WOW the crowd as the 350+ pounder climbed to the top rope and tried a Moonsault. Schultz just moved out of the way at the last second and Bigelow crashed to the floor. Both men struggled to get to their feet but Schultz was first up. He was able to hit a running bulldog and then he connected with the Piledriver and got the victory at 8:31. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ USWA WORLD TAG TITLE MATCH THE SHEEPHERDERS VS BRUSIER BRODY & STAN HANSEN From the beginning to the end, Gordon Solie is right on the money when he said this one will be a Pier 6 brawl. These teams just beat the hell out of each other from start to finish. There was action all over the arena and all 4 men were bloodied by the end. The end came when Stan Hansen connected with a Lariat on Butch Miller and went for the pin. Luke Williams made the save by crashing the New Zealand flag pole to the back of Hansen’s head. Brody hit the ring and received the same flagpole to the head. Williams just went wild which forced ref Scrappy McGowan to call for the bell and disqualified the Sheepherders at 20:23. This did not stop Williams who was just out of control. Gordon Solie announced that he was tiring of the tactics by Williams and that help needs to get out here. Soon officials and wrestlers poured out but the Sheepherders were almost impossible to control. Finally order was restored and even though the ref declared the challengers the winners, the Sheepherders retained their belts. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Match: INTERGENDER MATCH HOT STUFF EDDIE GILBERT & SHERI MARTEL VS CURT HENNIG & BABY DOLL Gordon first reviews the rules and stipulations for the upcoming match. First, the men will wrestle the men and the women will wrestle the women. If Gilbert and Martel win, Eddie Gilbert will receive a TNT Title shot which will be a loser leave TNT match. Baby Doll would be barred from ringside at this match. If Hennig and Baby Doll win tonight, Eddie Gilbert will not receive another title shot for the rest of 1984. The match is fast paced and entertaining. Baby Doll is taking care of business as her power is just too much for Martel. When the men are in, Hennig is also outclassing Gilbert. He seems to be just one move ahead all the time. Baby Doll threw back to back haymakers and Sheri Martel back peddled into the ropes by her corner. Baby Doll followed Martel into the ropes and did not see Gilbert slap his partner on the back for the legal tag. Somehow, Martel was able to execute an Irish Whip on The Perfect 10. Martel dropped to the mat and Baby Doll leaped over her and was caught right in a front face lock by Eddie Gilbert. He turned this quickly into a DDT. Gordon Solie was in shock that Gilbert would do this to a women. Martel quickly hoped out of the ring and Gilbert tagged her back in. Martel covered Baby Doll and Gilbert rushed across the ring and drop kicked Hennig to the floor to prevent him from making the save. Ref Bruce Owens made the count at 11:21 as Gilbert and Martel quickly escape from the ring with their victory. Solie expresses his disgust and says that was the most cowardly thing he has seen in a long, long time. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ELIMINATION MATCH THE HOUSE OF HUMPERDINK VS TEAM DUSTY RHODES (FIRST MAN PINNED MUST LEAVE THE USWA) Now this match is Good vs Evil and when The House of Humperdink comes to the ring, it creeps the fans out right from the beginning. Kevin Sullivan has a huge snake wrapped around his neck. The Botswana Man Eater has his stomach and face painted in African symbols and is beating on his huge belly. The Purple Haze comes out in a purple rob and appears to be chanting in a trance like rhythm and Abdullah the Butcher is Abdullah. The only one who seems somewhat normal is Hercules Hernandez who is a monster of a man and comes out with a huge steel chain wrapped around his neck. Team Dusty includes himself, Buzz and Brett Sawyer, Mike Graham and Blackjack Mulligan. The good guys come out to the roar of the crowd and Dusty starts pointing at Sullivan right away. Sullivan just gives a gigantic laugh and the commands his Minions to attack before the bell. Chaos ensues as Sullivan just waits on the apron. The reason for that is that the first man eliminated from the match has to leave the USWA and all other wrestlers who are pinned or submit must leave the ring and go to the locker room. Once order is restored, it appears that Hercules Hernandez will start against Dusty Rhodes. Team Dusty works well together and everyone gets a shot while the House of Humperdink has decided to make Hernandez a sacrificial lamb. Every time he goes to make a tag, Sullivan orders the minions to jump off the apron and not enter the ring. Finally, Hernandez is unable to hold out any longer and is pinned by the American Dream after a piledriver. Hercules Hernandez is forced to leave the ring area but he is also out of the USWA. The match drags on for a while until Abdullah the Butcher just brutalizes team Dusty and is able to knock out Brett Sawyer and Mike Graham. Buzz Sawyer was able to catch Purple Haze in a power slam to eliminate him and it is down to three on three. The next elimination comes when The Botswana Man Eater comes off the middle rope and crushes Buzz with his 400+ pounds. Gordon Solie notes that the match is nearly 25 minutes in and Kevin Sullivan has yet to enter the ring. Abdullah just brutalizes the forehead of Mulligan with the fork and after he is a bloody mess, Abdullah basically crushes Mulligan be squashing him in the corner and gains the pin. It is now3 members of the House vs Dusty and still note that Sullivan has yet to enter the ring. Dusty is being double teamed by the Man Eater and Abdullah and is in a bad way. Somehow, Dusty managed to come to life a hit a Stardust Piledriver on the Man-eater to eliminate him. Abdullah now man handles Dusty for a good five minutes but rushed in too quickly and Dusty moved away and the Butcher rammed his head into the ring post. Dusty caught him in a roll up for the pin. It is now a brutally beaten Dusty vs a fresh Kevin Sullivan. The devil basically tossed Rhodes all over the ring and floor area for a few minutes. He then flipped Rhodes into the corner and began the beating of the Tree of Woe. Sullivan then takes a Golden Spike and basically carves Dust’s forehead like he was a butcher. Rhodes is a bloody mess and Sullivan is really trying to injure Rhodes. Sullivan goes into a Devil Stomp and just stomps every inch of Rhodes and then drops a knee right to his throat. He pulls him up by the throat and whips him into the ropes and catches him in a power slam. As he covers him the fans are shocked that their Dream is about to go down to the devil when all of a sudden Hercules Hernandez hits the ring with the steel chain and starts to beat Sullivan across the back. He then scoops him up into the Backbreaker Rack and is trying to snap Sullivan in too. Humperdink is beside himself. Sullivan taps out at 32:10 and the fans go wild. The House of Humperdink actually has been beaten by one of their own men. The fans can’t believe it and give Hernandez and huge ovation. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ THE OUTLAWS (RON BASS, BLACK BART & BOBBY JAGGERS) VS THE VON ERICHS This feud has been brewing for a while as the Outlaws feel the VonErichs are getting special treatment from TNT President, Fritz VonErich. The match is a brawl from the beginning and all 6 men have time in control of the action. There is a lot of double and triple teaming going on and at times all 6 men are going at it at the same time. The end comes when each of the VonErichs have when of the Outlaws in a corner and they whip all three of the Outlaws into each other. The Outlaws all fall down to the mat as the 3 Vo Erichs each raise their right hand and let the fans know the Iron Claws are coming. Kerry and Bass are the legal men and Kerry locks in the claw and Bass is flat on his back. Mike locks his onto Jaggers and Kevin straps the claw on Black Bart. While all 6 men are in the ring, ref Rick Hazzard seems to ignore it and calls for the bell as Ron Bass has given up at a time of 17:11. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ USWA WORLD NATIONAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH THE FABULOUS ONES VS OLE & ARN ANDERSON The fans are wild for the Fabulous Ones and their entrance to ZZ Topps and Sharpe Dressed Man gets them off their seats. They will really need to be on their game here as the Andersons are one of the best tag teams in the World. The heels tack control early as Ole refused to break cleanly and caught Lane with a knee to the cut. They controlled Lane in their corner and really wore him down. When Lane tagged in Keirn, Keirn went wild but with all the chaos, ref Bronco Lubich got to close and when Keirn drop kicked Arn, Arn “accidently” knocked down the ref. Keirn then slapped the Sleeper on Arn and he was out but there was no ref to count. Ole hit the ring and rammed Keirn’s shoulder into the steel ring post. It would now be a few minutes of wild action with all four men in the ring at the same time but Keirn was in trouble. It was time for the Anderson trademark of wearing down an injured body part. Ole pulled and tugged and twisted that shoulder until Keirn was in agony. As the ref finally restored order, Ole had Keirn locked in a hammerlock and Keirn was in serious trouble as Ole tagged back in Arn. Arn climbed to the top rope and leaped off and hit a huge knee drop the shoulder and head of Keirn and gained the three count. Solie hypes this victory as we now have new National Tag Team Champions. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ USWA WORLD TITLE MATCH TOMMY RICH VS JERRY LAWLER Now this feud is read hot and the crowd here in Dothan is furious at Jerry Lawler and this plays right into his arrogant persona as he just struts out wearing his crown and laughing at the fans and calling them all kinds of names. Wildfire walks out pretty slowly as he has been banged up pretty badly by some of Lawler’s hired bounty hunters over the last week but Rich has vowed to take it to Lawler tonight. As ref Scrappy McGowan holds up the belt for the fans to see, Lawler attacks before the bell and this gives him the early advantage. Lawler is brutal and really goes after the injured ribs of Rich. Between the body blows and kicks to the mid-section, Lawler straps Rich into numerous abdominal stretches trying to make Rich submit. Lawler is calculated and measures each and every move and the fans have some real concern. Rich tries to gain the momentum after he blocked a suplex by Lawler but Lawler just hits him with a low blow. Lawler begins to strut around the ring and really plays to the audience. Rich decides it’s time to fight fire with fire and when the ref admonishes Lawler for grabbing the hair, Rich throws his own low blow. Lawler is stunned and Rich now goes “WILDFIRE.” He connects with 4 or 5 right hands and then whips Lawler into the ropes. Rich connects with a big Cross Body Block but Lawler kicks out at the count of 2. Lawler escapes to the floor to try to catch his breath but Rich follows him out. The brawl is on and it is amazing they both get back in the ring. Somehow Lawler is back in charge and begins to beat on Rich for a few minutes, Lawler climbs to the top rope and comes off with a big top rope fist drop. WHAM! Lawler’s fist hits the mat as Rich rolls out at the last second. Lawler is jumping around and grabbing his hand as Wildfire takes charge. Rich backs Lawler into the corner and leaps on the second row and throws right hand after right hand as the crowd counts to 10. Scrappy McGowan gets in there and pushes Wildfire back but Rich is relentless and rushes back in. Gordon Solie is heard saying, “OH MY GOD WHAT WAS THAT.” Jerry Lawler has thrown a fireball in the face of Tommy Rich and Rich is rolling in agony. Ref Scrappy McGowan saw it and quickly disqualifies Lawler at 26:02. Lawler goes nuts and stomps on Rich for a minute but Dusty and Kerry VonErich quickly hit the scene and chase Lawler to the back. Solie catches up with Lawler and demands to know why he did that. Lawler responds “Rich hit me with a Fireball up in Memphis and it cost me my title. It is ridiculous how this stupid organization protects Tommy Rich. I was out of work for two weeks. Lost thousands of dollars and now that stinkin Austin Idol is wearing my tittle. I hope Rich’s face is burned beyond recognition which would only help his looks. If Rich wants me, he knows where to find me. I will be home in Memphis thank God far away from this hillbillies and rednecks. Solie finishes the show by saying that is one of the most disgusting men I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I hope Tommy is not injured to badly and I would like to wish him a speedy recovery. So long from Dothan, Alabama.
  4. 5/27/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 5:05-6:05 TAPED IN DALLAS, TEXAS BILL MERCER welcomes all the fans to TNT Wrestling from the World’s most Famous Wrestling Arena, the Sportatorium in downtown Dallas. Mercer gives a rundown of tonight’s show and really puts over the fact that there will be a number of TNT matches tonight at the USWA Supercard in Dothan, Alabama including a 6 man tag team match between the VonErichs and The Outlaws (Ron Bass, Black Bart and Bobby Jaggers) Mercer takes us to a video that includes highlights of matches and interviews of what has lead up to this white hot feud. Bill Mercer hypes up tonight’s match and then takes us to the ring and announcer Marc Lawrence for our first match. Match: Sweet Brown Sugar & Brickhouse Brown Vs Hacksaw Higgans & Moondog Cujo Sweet Brown Sugar and Brickhouse Brown are quickly becoming one of the fan favorites but tonight they had a tough one with the unpredictable team of Higgans and Cujo. After a wild match that saw the heel team use some powerful moves and rugged style, Brickhouse rose to the occasion and started to throw some huge haymakers of his own. Brown was able to continue that momentum and after a Swinging Neckbreaker on Higgans. He tagged back in Sugar and together they connected with a Double Missile Drop Kick for the win. They joined Bill Mercer who really hyped up their last match and their recent success. Both Sugar and Brickhouse thanked Bill. Mercer tells them to keep up the good work and that he is sure title shots will be in their future. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH SABU THE WILDMAN VS STEVE TRAVIS When they come out of break, Bill Mercer really hypes up Sabu who is new to TNT wrestling. Marc Lawrence introduces him as from Pogo Pago and his wild hair and nasty snarl has the fans on alert from the opening bell. As for the match, Sabu uses some brutal martial arts tactics including kicks, chops and nerve holds to control Travis is this squash match. The match comes to an end after Sabu connected with a thrust kick to the chest and then put on some crazy thumb like choke hold and Travis started bleeding out of his mouth. The fans watched on in horror as ref Rick Hazzard called for the bell and declared Sabu the winner. He was some-what reluctant to release the hold. Mercer really hypes up how dangerous Sabu is and that TNT wrestlers better be careful when dealing with this wildman. Merer now informs us that it will be the TNT tag team of Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen that get the World title shot tonight against the Sheepherders in Dothan, Alabama. He goes on to wish them luck and say they are really deserving of this #1 contenders position. He goes on to show a highlight video of Brody and Hansen that shows just how tough they really are. COMMERCIAL BREAK MIL MASCARAS VS NIGHTMARE #1 Bill Mercer welcomes back Mil Mascaras to TNT wrestling and the fans go wild. He is truly a hero in Texas and they love his style. This match features two masked superstars who are really quick and have great technical skill. Mercer says that Mascaras will have to watch out for some of the dirty tactics the Nightmare has been known to use. It seems like Mascaras heard him and when the Nightmare tried an unclean break in the corner, Mascaras was ready for it. From here on out, it was all Mascaras. He Aerial Acrobatics amazed the crowd and gave him the victory. The one interesting thing was that the Nightmare tried to rip off the mask of Mascaras but was unsuccessful. Mercer know spends some time hyping up tonight’s match featuring Bam Bam Bigelow and “Dr. D” David Schultz. Mercer really thinks this big, agile rookie has a great shot at beating the double tough Schultz and shows a video of how this feud has been progressing over the past four or five weeks. The best part of the video was a taped interview from Bigelow where he really seemed like he was ready to put a beating on Dr. D. Shultz responded by saying that he is the most dangerous man in TNT and that there is no way in hell that fat, out of shape rookie will last two minutes in the ring with him. Schultz continues to wonder why he has to go down to Alabama in the first place. He says he can’t stand to be around dirt and filth and now he has to wrestle in the most disgusting state in the country. He says “after most of my wins, he likes to go out and find himself a HOT WOMAN. How I am going to do that here. There are no women in the whole state of Alabama. There are only girls who look like men and men that look like girls.” COMMERCIAL BREAK Killer Khan and The Missing Link vs Steve Simpson & Wendell Cooley In a match that you thought would be a complete squash match, the underdogs performed really well. They actually almost gained the victory after Cooley hit Link with the Oklahoma Stampede but Khan made the save with the Big Boot. This kick really took the wind out of Cooley and Khan was able to put him away a few minutes later with the Cobra Clutch. Mercer says that he has saved the best for last and wants to spend some time on the hottest feud in all of wrestling. He continues to say that this is not just between two men but between two men and two very tough ladies. He goes on to announce that the inter-gender match between Eddie Gilbert and Sheri Martel vs Curt Hennig and Baby Doll is all anyone can talk about. Mercer continues to review this huge bout with some videos of matches and interviews over the last month or so. One thing that becomes obvious is that Martel and Baby Doll just can’t stand each other. After the tape ends, Mercer really hypes up the event in Alabama and says if you can’t be there in person, join us right here on WTBS one hour from now. He guarantees that it will be an awesome show! Mercer ends with “So long from the Sportatorium.” The screen fades to black. ****Note to the readers: I know this show lacked some of the fire power but to keep it realistic, I could not find another way. I have been “taping” my TNT show Sunday evenings and figured that there was no way for the wrestlers to get to Alabama in time for the Mega Show. That is the reason I kept saying they were showing video tapes. I have been watching some Mid-South shows and Smoky Mountain Wrestling shows of late and they seemed to live off showing old material and videos. I guess that keeps the bills down.
  5. I can't get over how great this TV Title angles is and has me waiting for the next show. Fab Ones now have two titles and might just be the best team in all the game. Love the Lance Brisco angle by the way.
  6. USWA WRESTLING: 5/26/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 6:05-8:05 TAPED IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA “Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling here on WTBS. I am Gordon Solie and we have a jam packed show tonight. Gordon Solie gives a quick rundown of tonight’s show before bringing us to the ring for our first match. MATCH: MR. WRESTLING II VS KING COBRA The fans go wild as Mr. Wrestling II hits the ring. Gordon Solie really amps up II and how great it is to have him back in Atlanta. An injured Tommy Rich joins Gordon for the match. Solie asks Rich if he will be able to wrestle Jerry Lawler in Dothan tomorrow. Rich says that he has two broken ribs and the doctors have told him not to wrestle but there is nothing that could keep him away from taking a piece out of Lawler’s hide tomorrow night. He “is sick and tired about how Lawler has hired everyone he knows to try and put me out of action because he knows he can’t beat me.” As for the match, it is a great opening bout with both men having their time with the momentum. II ducked under a huge missile dropkick by Cobra and connected with a big right hand of his own. He then used two big body slams to set up King Cobra for the Million Dollar Knee Lift. Cobra is basically out on his feet as ref Scrappy McGowna makes the three count. Rich says that King Cobra went down in the ring tonight and tomorrow another King is going down. Mr. Wrestling II heads over to the interview desk and joins Rich and Solie. Rich gives him a huge handshake and the two buddies put over how things are going to even out around here now for the good guys. Solie informs Rich that he could like to show him a short clip from CWA Wrestling. Again we see Jerry Lawler and Lance Russell Lance: "Hello everybody and welcome to another BIG day of CWA Championship Wrestling…I'm Lance Russell along with Dave Brown and you just saw the travesty that took place last Monday night when 'the King' was robbed of the Southern Heavyweight title." Dave: "We don't know who that was that came in with the mask….they were wearing a long sleeved baggy sweatshirt that made it hard to tell exactly how big they were…." (Jerry Lawler comes storming out with his face bandaged up on one side where the fireball hit) King: "Give me a break Dave Brown….I don't care what that idiot was wearing….we all know exactly who that was that came out and burned me and cost me the title!" Lance: "Who Jerry? The guy had a mask on and as Davey mentioned he was wearing a baggy sweatshirt and sweat pants…" King: "That was Tommy Rich and everybody knows it! That jerk has it in for me….he wanted to cost me the Southern title and wants to try and collect that $10,000 bounty that Idol has on me….I mean come on Lance, what kind of a guy puts a bounty on someone like that? Well Tommy Rich I know you will hear this because they play clips of me every week on the USWA show so people will have a reason to watch it…..Tommy Rich, I'm gonna make it my mission in life to take that stinkin' USWA title from you just so you can get a taste of what it's like…..Rich, I promise you the next time you show up in Memphis, mask or not I'm gonna take you out once and for all. Oh, and by the way you little punk, I have one more surprise for you. Gordon Solie asks Tommy Rich if he wishes to comment on what they have just seen. He continues to say that Lawler has made some pretty inflammatory accusations about how you interfered in his title match under the disguise of a mask and hit him with a fireball in the face. Rich responds by saying Lawler is full of himself and always needs an excuse why he lost. I have not been in Memphis, TN in months and if someone interfered in his match with Austin Idol and hit him the face with some kind of fireball, I can assure you it wasn’t me. Does it surprise me? Heck No Gordon. There are hundreds of people who want a piece of Lawler. The way he treats people, there is no surprise that someone tried to hurt him. He asks about what kind of person puts a bounty on someone’s head? I mean isn’t that exactly what the scum has done to me. Gordon Solie: I hear you on that one Wildfire. What about the fact that he has one more surprise waiting for you? Rich: He has sent Kendo Nagasaki after me. He has sent Carlos Colon after me. He has sent those fat slobs, Jerry Blackwell and One Man Gang after me. I am still standing. Tonight, I have my good friend, Mr. Wrestling II out here to watch my back. WHAM! Solie: “Uhh, Waitaminute. What is going on here? Mr. Wrestling II has just hit Wildfire with a haymaker and he follows it up with two huge bodyslams on the cement floor. We need help out here. No, No. Mr. Wrestling II is setting Wildfire up for the Million Dollar Knee Lift.” WHAM! Solie: Wrestling II has just hit Rich in the broken ribs with another knee. He is picking him up again and connects with a second knee lift. There is no telling how much damage has been done. We need to take a break and get order restored. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ Eddie Graham comes out and says he is afraid that Jerry Lawler is at it again as another video tape has been sent. I have decided that it must be shown to our audience right away. “Greeting again Rednecks! This is your King in Memphis, Tennessee. I was just wondering how Tommy Rich enjoyed the mega beating from his good friend Mr. Wrestling II. See, you and I Mr. Rich used to call each other friends and now I would not spit on you if you were on FIRE! That’s right you low life scumb. I know you threw that fireball and I can truly say that revenge is a dish served Red Hot. I could only imagine you sitting in the locker room right now, struggling to breath after those Million Dollar Knee lifts from My Good Friend, Mr. Wrestling II. MONEY DOES BUYS A LOT AND I THINK IT JUST BOUGHT ME THE USWA WORLD TITLE. SHINE IT UP REAL GOOD FOR ME BOY. Oh I can’t wait to watch this all on the Stupidstation this week. I can just hear those bones cracking from here. Rich and the rest of you stupid hicks better be ready for anything. I mean our match in the cow pasture in Dothan, Alabama is still 1 days away. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ Solie returns from break and announces that he hopes to have Wrestling II come back out to explain what just happened after the next match. MATCH: PVT. KERNODLE VS HACKSAW HIGGANS In a good match, PVT. Kernodle is able to overcome the size of Hacksaw Higgans and gains the victory with Neck breaker after about 5 minutes of back and forth action. The fans really start to boo as Mr. Wrestling II makes his way to the interview desk. Solie: Well, Mr. Wrestling II. We have known each other a long time and I never thought I would see what just happened. Could be please explain why you did what you did. Mr. Wrestling II: Solie, I am sick and tired of people thinking I am only able to help protect the young guns. I was not ready to retire but Bill Watts and Mid-South Wrestling was not giving me the respect that I deserve. The title shots were going to these young pretty boys who I could beat with one hand tied behind my back. Then I come back here and it’s the same thing. Tommy Rich is the champion but Eddie Graham brought me in here to help protect his prized golden boy. Well I am sick and tired of being the body guard. When Jerry Lawler offered to pay me to put Rich out of action, I jumped at the idea. I taught Rich everything he knows and does he offer me a title shot? NO! He treats me like a has-been. The crowd really pops as Dusty comes out to the interview desk. Wrestling II: Nobody invited you out here you fat slob. Rhodes: Woo Baby! I am going to tell you one thing. We have been through thick and thin and what you did just a few minutes ago is as thin as I have ever seen baby! I mean Wildfire, you, and I have been battling evil for a long time and then you just turn your back on him for money. Greed is a bad thing! Wrestling II: You don’t know what you are taking about but I’ll tell you one thing, American Dream. Stick your nose in my business again and I will slap that taste right out of it. Wrestling II storms off as Solie continues, “Broth-er!” Dusty: You can say that again Gordon. Wrestling II is in a dark place right now and he might be writing checks he can’t cash. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ Piper’s Pit with Special Guests: THE AMERICAN DREAM DUSTY RHODES Roddy Piper makes his way out to the set and sits in one of the two chairs that are there. The Sheepherders follow Piper out and are standing behind him with their arms folded. Piper has his USWA NATIONAL TITLE around and he is as cocky as ever. Piper begins by “welcoming” The American Dream.” As Dusty comes back out, he is wearing a cowboy hat and a pair of overalls. Piper thanks him for getting all dressed up for the occasion. Rhodes gives it right back by saying he didn’t know this was a date but now that he sees Piper in his best skirt he would have worn himself a suit and tie. Piper and Rhodes give it back and forth to each other for a few minutes until Rhodes just grabs the mic and tells him to shut and up listen. “Your behavior disgusts me. I mean all you do every week is put down these hard working men and women. You might have been born with a silver spoon in your mouth but not me brother. I have worked hard each and every day of my life. I know what it is like to face Hard Times. These fans out here know what it is to face Hard Times and we are sick and tired of people like you and people like Keebin Sullivan who are just pure evil. These people work hard 6 days a week and pray just as hard on the 7th day just to get buy. Those lucky enough to earn a few extra dollars come and spend it with us. I am going to stand up for them. For what is right. I will not let you, these clowns standing behind you or Sullivan put these people down. There is only two ways in this world. The right way and the wrong way. You are the wrong way. Sullivan is the wrong way. There are plenty of guys like Wildfire Rich, Blackjack Mulligan and myself who are protecting what is right. Rhodes spits on the shoes of Piper and then says “No reason to show me out” as Rhodes leaves the set Piper’s jaw is wide open but with no words are coming out. You can tell he is red hot! ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: HACKSAW REED VS MOONDOG CUJU Moondog Cujo has not won many matches but has shown some ability but not tonight. The new USWA National Champion is on point in this squash match and follows up a Gorilla Press Slam with a football tackle for the win. Hacksaw Reed heads over to the interview desk where Solie congratulates him on winning the belt and also asks about his upcoming steel cage match with Ernie Ladd where the loser must leave the USWA for 30 days. Reed goes off as the feud between Ladd and himself is white hot. Reed says that he heard Ladd call him a drunk and that he was going to send him on a 30 day vacation back to Africa. Reed continues by answering this saying “I am that he is the best athlete in the USWA. 260 pounds of solid muscle and you are Ladd is old! No way will I lose my title to a grumpy old, no skilled, washed up football player and soon to be washed up wrestler. Solie brings us back to the ring for our next match and it’s a good one. MATCH: The Sheepherders vs Crusher Ottman and Tony Atlas The match is pretty wild from the beginning to the end. Both teams have their chance with the momentum but one thing is certain. The Sheepherders are a well-oiled machine who know how to break the rules without the ref seeing anything. After about 7 minutes, Butch Williams hits Crusher Ottman with a low blow and then tagged in Luke Williams and they used a quick battering ram to knock the wind out of the 400+ pounder and gain the pin. Atlas was upset with the low blow and went wild clearing the ring with a few haymakers to the Sheepherders before going to aid his pal. Solie really puts over the victory and says he is excited to see their title defense vs Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen tomorrow night in Dothan, Alabama. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: The Fabulous Ones vs The Nightmares (Ted Allen and Steve Travis under masks) The Fab Ones own the crowd as they come out in Tuxedos to Sharp Dressed Man and from here on in the match was just a formality. The Nightmares are a tough team but tonight they ran into a buzz saw. The end came after a Russian Leg Sweep by Stan Lane on Nightmare #1. After the match Lane and Keirn head over to Solie who reminds them that they have a really tough match tomorrow night against one of the top teams in TNT Wrestling, Mr. Saito and The Great Kabuki. Lane and Keirn hype up how tough their opponents are and then say they are ready for the match. They guarantee the audience that they are ready for the challenge and there is no way they are ready to give up these USWA National Tag Titles. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: DUSTY RHODES, BLACKJAKE MULLIGAN & BUZZ SAWYER VS VS KEVIN SULLIVAN ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER & THE PURPLE HAZE with SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK Sir Oliver Humperdink is at the interview desk and is verbally attacking Dusty Rhodes and his “family.” Solie responds by hyping up the 10 man tag team match between Sullivan and his minions against Rhodes and his buddies tomorrow night in Dothan. He reminds Humperdink that the first man pinned tomorrow night has to leave the USWA and how does he plan to protect the task master, Kevin Sullivan. Humperdink reminds Gordon Solie that they have a Master Plan and that they are in charge of USWA Wrestling and in just 24 hours that fat slob Dusty Rhodes will be gone from USWA forever. Solie does he best to remain impartial but you can tell he is sick to his stomach that Humperdink is at the interview desk with him. Solie just responds by saying let’s get to the ring. As you would expect the match is wild from the beginning. The House is brutal in everything they do but Rhodes and his buddies are up to the task. The action spills out onto the floor and once again Sullivan seems to go into some sort of trance as he begins to rant. In recent weeks, this has led to more Minions rushing out but tonight it is not a Minion that comes out. It is Roddy Piper. With the refs attention focused elsewhere, Sullivan is able to put Rhodes into the Tree of Woe. Instead of rushing in and Devil Stomping Rhodes, Sullivan makes sure that ref Scrappy McGowan doesn’t turn back to the action. Piper enters the ring while Dusty is hanging upside down and pulls out that white towel we have seen of late. He sprays something onto it that Gordon Solie is sure is either and wraps it around the face of Rhodes. It just a few moments, Rhodes is out cold and Piper slips out of the ring. Scrappy McGowan knows he smells something but can’t put two and two together. Before the rest of Rhodes allies notice what had happened, Sullivan unhooks Dusty and gets the three count. Piper now hits the ring and joins Sullivan in the beating of Rhodes. Officials and wrestlers pour out of the back and try and stop this wild scene as Gordon Solie announces “Oh bro-ther, it looks like Piper has gone to the dark side. I just hope Dusty can regroup for tomorrow night or this scene with him lying flat on his back may be the last we see of him here in USWA. Sorry but we are out of time for this week. “So long from Atlanta.”
  7. THIS WEEK IN USWA WRESTLING: HOSTED BY GORDON SOLIE 5/26/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 9:05 AM- 10:05 AM SPONSERED BY PRO WRESTLING ILLUSTRATED “Hello again everybody. Welcome to This Week in USWA Wrestling. I am Gordon Solie joined this week by Bill Apter and together we will catch you up to date on all the comings and goings here in the USWA. The show begins with Solie and Apter talking about how we are just one day before the Mega Event, Don’t Tread on Me from the Farm Center in Dothan, Alabama. They both wonder if Tommy Wildfire Rich will be able to defend his title against Jerry Lawler after suffering broken ribs by One Man Gang and Crusher Jerry Blackwell, both of who were trying to collect the bounty placed on the head of Wildfire by Jerry Lawler. They go on to say that there has been some major goings on this week in the USWA and announce that they have video tape from Columbus, Georgia and that they are going to get right to the action. The video tape begins and Solie announces that we are watching the last few minutes of the USWA National Title Match between Roddy Piper and challenger Hacksaw Butch Reed with Special Guest Referee Tony Atlas. The tape begins with Reed in control of the match. He appears to be just too powerful and connects with some big power moves including a short armed clothesline and a big suplex but give Piper his due. He refuses to give in and keeps kicking out at a count of two. Piper takes the law into his own hands with a knee to the groin of Reed. Atlas is all in Pipers face but the damage was done. Piper now takes Reed to the woodshed and kicks and stomps his way to total control. After a huge running knee lift, it appears that Piper might just get the victory but Atlas seems out of position and takes a while to begin the count. Piper gets right into the face of Atlas and Atlas shoves him. Piper goes right back at him and threatens to hit Atlas. While all this is going on Reed has made his way to his feet and sneaks up from behind and hits a football tackle. He quickly covers Piper and Atlas makes the world’s fastest three count. Gordon Solie announce that we have aknew USWA National Champion in Hacksaw Reed and Apter says that Piper is spitting mad and he says that he can’t blame him. Apter said that Atlas might not have been as biased as he should have been. Solie tries his best to protect Mr. USA but after the tape it is hard. Solie and Apter now say that they need to get back out to Columbus, Georgia for some more highlights. This one is of the USWA World Tag Team Title match between the Sheepherders and the challengers, Dusty Rhodes and his partner, Mr. Wrestling II. As could be expected in any match with the Sheepherders, it is wild and crazy from start to finish. The tape shows both teams with the momentum but in the end, the Sheepherders retained their titles after whipping Dusty into ref Scrappy McGowan and then taking the flagpole to the heads of both Rhodes and II. With Wrestling II knocked out on the floor, The Sheepherders used the Battering Ram to knock the wind out of the bloodied Rhodes and gain the victory. Solie and Apter hype up the brutal Sheepherders and announce that they might just be the World Champions for some time to come. Solie announces that when they come back, they will head down to Texas and TNT Wrestling and review some great matches from the card in Dublin, Texas. ----------------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK ------------------------------ Apter and Solie review and show some highlights from this week’s major card from TNT Wrestling down in Texas. The first highlight is off the return math for the TNT Title where Eddie Gilbert tries to recapture his title from Mr. Perfect, Curt Hennig. The tape begins with Hennig in charge and he is showing off his full array of moves. Sherri Martel attempts to distract ref Rick Hazzard but just like the past, Baby Doll will have none of it. She goes right at Sheri and the two are going at it. Curt Hennig takes advantage of this and connects with the Bridging Cradle Plex. Hazzard makes the 3 count and Hennig successfully defends his title. Solie and Apter talk about how exciting that match was and that the action did not end there. The video goes on to show how Eddie Gilbert went right up TNT President, Fritz VonErich and demand another shot at the title and this time Baby Doll MUST BE BARRED FROM RINGSIDE! Fritz said that this claim was outrageous and then chaos hit as Curt Hennig and Baby Doll entered the scene. Sheri began to hide behind the desk as it was obvious she was afraid of Baby Doll. Baby Doll starts making chicken noises as Fritz asks for everyone to calm down. Hennig says he won fair and square and that Gilbert must work his way back up the ranks of TNT like everyone else before he gets another shot. Gilbert starts shooting back and all of a sudden Hennig gets a smile across his face and says that he has an idea. “I will give you one more title shot if you and that witch of your, Sheri, defeat myself and Baby Doll at the big USWA show in Dothan Alabama. Sheri starts screaming NO but Hennig says he is not finished. “If you win the intergender match and earn the title shot, Baby Doll will be banned from ringside for the title match and the loser of that match must leave the USWA. Gilbert and Sheri start to smile as they realize they can win back the title with Baby Doll not at ringside for the match and Hennig must leave the USWA. Solie says that when they come back, they are really going to get into the Supercard from Dothan, Alabama. ----------------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK ------------------------------ Gordon Solie and Bill Apter are very excited about Don’t Tread On Me and spend the last segment reviewing each match on the card. DON’T TREAD ON ME! USWA WRESTLING: THE FARM CENTER DOTHAN, ALABAMA MAY 27, 1984 USWA WORLD TITLE TOMMY “WILDFIRE” RICH VS JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER 10 MAN ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MATCH DUSTY RHODES FAMILY VS KEVIN SULLIVAN & THE MINIONS (FIRST MAN TO LOSE MUST LEAVE THE USWA) USWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE THE SHEEPHERDERS VS BRUISER BRODY & STAN HANSEN USWA NATIONAL TITLE MATCH HACKSAW BUTCH REED VS ERNIE LADD (STEEL CAGE: LOSER MUST LEAVE USWA FOR 30 DAYS) INTERGENDER MATCH EDDIE GILBERT & SHERI MARTEL vs CURT HENNIG & BABY DOLL USWA NATIONAL TAG TITLE MATCH THE FABULOUS ONES VS MR. 8. Great use of the camera angle. Wasn't sure if that was a typo or what when you said he stole the camera. I thought you meant belt. That was really cool.
  9. HUGE NEWS FROM USWA WRESTLING: Eddie Graham has decided to re-open Championship Wrestling from Florida but has snubbed his nose at the NWA and has decided to join the USWA. Graham was acting president of the USWA but that spot in now once again open and Ted Turner is in search of a new leader. Right now Eddie Graham and Fritz VonErich will be the head promoters but the USWA is still in limbo as to who will ultimately be in charge. Could it be Watts? or McMahon? or Fuller? We will have to wait and see. Turner loves the idea of having a new "territory" in his organization as he truly hopes to follow in the footsteps of the NWA. In a perfect world Turner has said his dream would be to have USWA Wrestling by a Three or Four Headed Monster with 3 or 4 territories under the USWA umbrella. Right now he is at two with TNT (Texas) and Florida. Never underestimate Turner and the power of WTBS. Speaking of TBS, Turner has guaranteed Graham and Florida wrestling a weekly spot on his superstation and guarantees that Gordon Solie will give Florida due dilligence of the weekly show, This Week in the USWA. It will be very interesting to see who fills out Graham's roster.
  10. Loved the Okerland/Patera interview. Love the Playboy Rose/Iceman Parsons feud I also so it often, I love the struggling Hogan thing and wish WWF would have done it like you. It makes him seem human.
  11. Great Show! Memphis is FireBall City and chaos reigns in the CWA as always. Love it!
  12. Great build up to the Superdome! DiBiase can easily pull off being a babyface and you have the 4 top players in your promotion in a great spot. Keep up the good work.
  13. It seems like we now have an abundance of people who wish to join. Perfect Straightedge was going to move to Mid-Atlantic but Patrick seems back. I have been running shows all across the Southeast and am willing to give up any areas that I am in right now including Florida, Georgia and Texas if the extra new person would be interested in any of those. I would also be willing to share some talent as there is not a lot left in free agency to make a major roster. Let me know what I can do to help.
  14. CWA is fast becoming my favorite read. I love the Lawler/Rich feud and I can't wait to read your every week so I know which way to play it with my show. Idol vs Flair Briscos vs VonErichs or Fab Ones Dundee vs HTM Humongous/Bruise Brothers/Women/Blassie Just love everything about it!
  15. All sounds good. The more writers the better.
  16. GREAT GREAT SHOW The main event had me on the edge of my seat. Love Hart turning on Hart. Landell is awesome and you use him so well. Bad News Allen is going to be a force! Your tag team division is really strong and I am interested to see who rises and who falls

  18. 5/20/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 5:05-6:05 TAPED IN DALLAS, TEXAS BILL MERCER welcomes all the fans to TNT Wrestling from the World’s most Famous Wrestling Arena, the Sportatorium in downtown Dallas. Mercer gives a rundown of tonight’s show and really puts over the fact that there will be a number one contender’s bout for the USWA National Tag Team Titles between Kevin & Kerry VonErich and The Outlaws. The winner of this match will face the USWA National Champions after Don’t Tread on Me, the major USWA show in Dothan, Alabama. Bill also announces that may of the great stars of TNT have been included in the upcoming USWA extravaganza in Dothan, Alabama including Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody who have been named the #1 contenders for the USWA World Tag Title and will be wrestling the Sheepherders. He also announces that the TNT TITLE will be on the line tonight when Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and Curt Hennig meet tonight Mr. Saito and The Great Kabuki come out to the set and Mr. Saito, in broken English, complains that the VonErichs get another chance at a title shot. Bill Mercer says there is nothing he can do about it but if they have a complaint they should take it up with the boss, Fritz VonErich. Saito says that is exactly what they will do as they storm off set. Bill Mercer seems relieved that they left and he turns it over to ring announcer Marc Lawrence for our first match. Match: Sweet Brown Sugar & Brickhouse Brown Vs The Missing Link & Killer Khan Sweet Brown Sugar and Brickhouse Brown are quickly becoming one of the fan’s favorite teams here in TNT but tonight they have a tough one with the unpredictable team of Khan and Link. After a wild one that saw the heel team control much of the action, Sugar was able to escape being trapped in the wrong corner to make a diving tag to Brickhouse who went wild and cleared the ring all by himself. Brown was able to continue that momentum and after a Swinging Neckbreaker on Link, he tagged back in Sugar. Together they connected with a Double Missile Drop Kick and they escaped with the victory and continued their rise in TNT Wrestling. They joined Bill Mercer who really hyped up their last match and their recent success. Both Sugar and Brickhouse thanked Bill and said they would also love a shot at the Fabulous Ones and those National title belts. Mercer tells them to keep up the good work and that he is a sure title shot will be in their futures. COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH TNT CHAMPION HOT STUFF EDDIE GILBERT with SHERI MARTELL Vs CURT HENNIG with BABY DOLL When they come out of break, Bill Mercer really puts over this upcoming match. He reviews how this feud became so hot including the cat fighting between Baby Doll and Sheri. The challenger comes out first to the approval of the crowd and they play it up. This all changes as Hot Stuff by Donna Summers begins to blare through the speakers as Eddie Gilbert and Sheri make their way to the ring. The match is a wild back and forth match that has a little of everything. Both men have some great technical skill and both like to mix it up and the match has the fans on the edge of their seats. Sheri Martel tried to trip Curt Hennig and he turns to Baby Doll and tells her to take care of Sheri. This gives us a wild brawl both inside and outside of the ring. Eddie Gilbert connected with a DDT and went for the cover but this time it was Baby Doll who put Hennig’s leg across the bottom rope to save him. Now it was Sheri who went nuts. She was screaming at ref Bronco Lubich who became distracted. Eddie Gilbert used this to his advantage and began to slug Hennig. Somehow, Hennig was able to answer the blows with huge haymakers of his own and Gilbert went down. Hennig followed up a massive belly to belly suplex with an Indian Death Lock. Gilbert tried to reach the ropes but was stuck in the middle. Sheri reached for Gilbert’s arms and tried to pull him to the ropes but WHAM! Baby Doll came up from behind and nailed Sheri with a huge right hand and she went down. Gilbert couldn’t take the pain anymore and tapped out. Bill Mercer went wild as he said, “We have a new TNT CHAMPION! Congratulations to Curt Hennig and his manager, The Perfect 10, Baby Doll. Hennig and Baby Doll head over to the desk where Hennig thanks Baby Doll once again for taking care of that witch Sheri Martel. He also promises to be a fighting champion. Baby Doll gives Hennig a big congratulatory kiss and then announces that her man is now to be known as Mr. Perfect and together they are the Perfect Team. She also asks the camera to close in on her and she talks real slow and direct and warns Sheri Martel not to get in her business again if she knows what is good for her. COMMERCIAL BREAK MR. SAITO & THE GREAT KABUKI VS THE NORTH CAROLINA CONNECTION (RICK MCGRAW & STEVE TRAVIS) Bill Mercer reminds us of how unhappy Saito and Kabuki were earlier this evening when they were not announced as one of the two teams in the #1 Contenders Match and he says that he can’t blame them. They have been on fire as of late. Saito and Kabuki take out their anger on the North Carolina buddies and beat them from pillar to post. The end could have come at any time but they just continued to take it out these two young kids until neither one of them could get up. The end came after about the 5th thrust kick to the head of Steve Travis. When the match was over Fritz came out and took the microphone and warned Saito and Kabuki that they better be careful or they will be fined or suspended for their actions. This really set off the winners who were still in the ring but the quickly headed over to the interview desk where they really warned Fritz to watch what he says or that they will have no choice but to get even. Fritz tells them to get out of here right now due to the fact that he doesn’t take well to threats. COMMERCIAL BREAK DR. D DAVID SCHULTS VS MIKE VON ERICH This match upsets the fans as Dr. D is all over Mike VonErich. In the end, Schultz follows up his running bulldog with a Piledriver. After the rather easy 3 count, Schultz hits Mike VonErich with another Piledriver. Bill Mercer is yelling how disgusting the actions of Dr. D are as Schultz continues to punish the young VonErich. All of a sudden Bam Bam Bigelow hit the ring and the crowd goes wild. Schultz doesn’t back down and starts throwing big right hands that are connecting with Bigelow’s upper body. Bill Mercer is heard saying, “Strong right hand by Schultz but Bigelow just shrugs it off, not even shrugs it off. He acts as if it Schultz’s punches were small gnats that have intruded his space.” All of a sudden Bigelow returns fire with fire and knocks Dr. D down with one punch. Schultz is struggling to get to his feet when Bigelow scoops him up and slams him over the top rope. Again, the crowd is awed by Bigelow who is daring Schultz to get back in the ring but Schultz decides discretion is the better part of valor and slowly heads back to the locker room. Bigelow helps Mike VonErich up and the two embrace as the crowd shows its gratitude to Bigelow for helping Mike. Bigelow and VonErich head over to Bill Mercer and VonErich thanks Bam Bam while Bigelow just goes off on Dr. D and says that if he ever gets another shot at Schultz, he is in for a World of Hurt! COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH THE OUTLAWS (RON BASS & BLACK BART) VS KERRY & KEVIN VON ERICH #1 CONTENDERS MATCH FOR THE WORLD TAG TITLES Kerry and Kevin Von Erich enter the ring to “Tom Sawyer” by Rush blaring from the speakers as Bill Mercer hypes it up a lot. Just the opposite happens when Ron Bass and Black Bart come out dressed in all black cowboy attire. As for the match it is a brawl from the opening bell. Both teams have their advantages but in the end Kerry nailed Black Bart with a tornado punch and he tagged in his brother who connected with a Top Rope Von Erich Splash. Kerry made sure Bass couldn’t make the save and ref Rick Hazzard made the three count. All of a sudden the third Outlaw, Bobby Jaggers has hit the scene and has a whip. CRACK! CRACK! Bill Mercer is heard saying, “Down goes Kerry. Down goes Kevin.” Jaggers and the rest of the Outlaws are now beating on the brothers as Bill Mercer continues his call. “Holy Cow, Look at the Outlaws go. They are taking the VonErichs to Woodshed City.” Mercer reminds us that the VonErichs are the new #1 contenders and will meet The Sheepherders in Dublin, Texas this week. That is if they are able to.” For the first time in a long time, a wrestling show in Texas ends in the middle of a beat down of the VonErich boys. Bill Mercer puts this brawl over in a big way and the show comes to a close with Mercer reminding everyone to join us next time. So long from the Sportatorium. The screen fades to black,
  19. USWA WRESTLING: 5/19/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 6:05-8:05 TAPED IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA “Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling here on WTBS. I am Gordon Solie and we have a jam packed show tonight. Gordon Solie gives a quick rundown of tonight’s show before bringing us to the ring for our first match. MATCH: MR. WRESTLING II VS MOONDOG CUJO The fans go wild as Mr. Wrestling II hits the ring. Gordon Solie really amps up the return of II to Atlanta and says that maybe things can start to even out around here as II can help Tommy Rich and Dusty Rhodes with all their enemies. As for the match, it is a great opening bout with both men having their time with the momentum. II blocked a huge chop by Cujo and connected with a big right hand of his own. He then used two big body slams to set up the Moondog for the Million $$ Knee Lift. Cujo is basically out on his feet as ref Scrappy McGowna makes the three count. Mr. Wrestling II heads over to the interview desk where Gordon welcomes him back to Atlanta and the USWA. II begins by thanking Solie and the fans but then gets down to business. “I was ready to retire. I am getting up there in age. My knee is a bit cranky. I am not what I used to be, that’s for sure but then I sat down at home and started to watch USWA Wrestling and I knew I needed to come back. I couldn’t watch my buddies like Dusty Rhodes get attacked by Kevin Sullivan and his Minions. I couldn’t watch that low down snake in the grass Jerry Lawler put a hit out on my old pal Tommy Rich. I watched Kendo Nagasaki attack Wildfire. I watched Carlos Colon attack Wildfire. I knew that awful Lawler wouldn’t stop until Tommy was to hurt to defend his title. I knew I had to get here real fast before things got out of hand. So Dusty Rhodes and Tommy Rich, I am here for you. Anything you two need, just ask.” The crowd goes wild as Dusty Rhodes and Wildfire Rich come out to the desk. The three embrace and Rhodes and Wildfire put over how much the return of Mr. Wrestling II means to them. Gordon Solie is heard saying, “Amen to that. We will be right back after these messages.” ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ Gordon Solie announces that Dusty and Wrestling II have gone back to the locker room but the USWA World Champ, Tommy Rich is already in the ring for our next bout. MATCH: TOMMY RICH VS KILLER KHAN (NON-TITLE) As you would expect, this one is wild from the beginning. Rich is having a difficult time dealing with Khan’s size and power. He has been injured by Khan’s overhand chops and is really struggling. Khan whips Rich off the ropes and connects with a Big Boot to the temple of Rich. Khan goes for the move a second time but this time Wildfire leaps and connects with a Flying Cross Body Block. Rich quickly goes for the cover but by the time ref Bill Lampier gets to two we hear Gordon Solie…. “Oh No, here we go again. Look I can’t believe my eyes. It is Crusher Blackwell and One Man Gang from the AWA and they hit the ring. It is now Rich vs about 1200 pounds of Mass. As Gang and Blackwell hit Rich with everything but the kitchen sink, Khan begins to spin around and then spits the green mist into the eyes of Wildfire. He is blinded and rolling around in obvious agony. One Man Gang hits the ropes and leaps onto Rich with a Giant Splash. Khan drags Rich over by the ropes where Blackwell has climbed to the top rope. Oh my God no. Blackwell leaps off the top rope and crashed down with must be 450 pounds of man right onto the ribs of our Champion. Finally the wrestlers, including Dusty Rhodes, Mr. Wrestling II, Tony Atlas and Hacksaw Reed hit the ring. Khan, Blackwell and One Man Gang beat a hasty retreat but it appears the damage is already done. Wildfire is not moving. Gordon Solie in a low monotone voice fears for the worst as the doctors are putting Rich onto a stretcher. Solie announces that he is really tiring of these tactics and hopes to have word on Tommy Rich’s condition when we return from break. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ As we come out of break, Dusty Rhodes and Mr. Wrestling II are with Gordon. Solie first announces that it is too early to tell but it does appear that Tommy Rich has suffered broken ribs and perhaps a collapsed lung. Next, Gordon Solie informs us that for the third week in a row, Eddie Graham has just been handed a video tape by an unidentified delivery man and that it must be aired right away. Solie says “I would bet anything I had that this is another one of those obnoxious tapes from the Maniac in Memphis, Jerry Lawler. As the tape begins, we again see Jerry Lawler. “Greeting again Rednecks! This is your King in Memphis, Tennessee. I was just wondering how Tommy Rich enjoyed the mega beating from The Towers of Pain, Crusher Jerry Blackwell and One Man Gang. I mean those are two nasty dudes and I am glad they didn’t jump on me. I think you are finding out my power in this industry and that my wealth can buy a lot of people. Remember when the CWA had a great working relationship with the AWA. Well I still do and MONEY BUYS A LOT. In this case it was a lot of weight. Oh I can’t wait to watch the Stupidstation this week. I can just hear those bones cracking from here. Rich and the rest of you stupid hicks better be ready for anything. I mean our match in the cow pasture in Dothan, Alabama is still 8 days a week. I can buy a lot of injuries in 8 days. Remember what I said last week. Whatever I want, whenever I want, I can make it happen. Don’t worry Rich. I heard they just made our title match a handicap match. It will now be the King vs The Handicaped Tommy Rich. HA HA HA. As the tape comes to an end, Gordon Solie announces that Lawler is just sick. How could anyone be so spiteful. So evil. So disgusting. Rhodes and Wrestling II convey the same ideas and wish they could get their hands on Jerry Lawler. Rhodes also has a warning for the Sheepherders. He knows that it was to be The American Dream and Wildfire getting a rematch tomorrow night in the Muncipal Auditorium in Columbus, Georgia for the World Tag Titles but that he has already asked his buddy here, Mr. Wrestling II to be his partner. II is really excited about the chance to become World Champions. All of a sudden, The Sheepherders rush out to the desk and start yelling that they have a contract to face Rhodes and Rich and if Tommy Rich can’t wrestle then our rematch will have to be The Sheepherders vs the American Dream. They say they have a contract that stipulates no replacements. Eddie Graham comes out to the desk and is welcomed by Solie. He explains to the Sheepherders that they did not read the entire contract and it stipulates that in case of an injury, the challengers can replace either partner. He goes on to announce that this is in EVERY USWA CONTRACT in order that we best serve our wonderful fans. The Shephersders walk off irate and Rhodes and II shake hands. Solie really puts over this new tag match tomorrow night and the fans are loving it. Gordon Solie thanks everyone and tells Dusty to go ready for his match later tonight against one of Kevin Sullivan’s Minions, Hercules Hernandez. Solie then returns us to the ring for the third match of the night. MATCH: ERNIE LADD VS CPL. KIRCHNER As do most matches that feature Ernie Ladd, this one as the fans full of emotion. First, CPL Kirchner gets them off their feet by carrying in the American Flag and asking the audience to join him in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The Patriotism has people feeling good until Ladd comes in and actually threatens to stomp on the flag. Kirchner raises the flag up and the audience cheers. Ladd turns his back on the flag and raises a defiant black fist in the air. Kirchner played to the crowd a moment to long as Ladd attacked him when his back was turned. The match is all Ladd and it comes to a merciful end after a Big Boot. Ladd goes right over to the interview desk and starts taking real slow and loud in his deepest nastiest voice about how Hacksaw Reed’s days in the USWA are numbered. He says he knows that the loser of their match in Dothan must leave the USAW for only 30 days but that he is going to hurt Reed so bad in the steel cage that Reed will be forced to quit wrestling FOREVER.! ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ Piper’s Pit with Special Guests: HACKSAW BUTCH REED Roddy Piper makes his way out to the set and sits in one of the two chairs that are there. The Sheepherders follow Piper out and are standing behind him with their arms folded. Piper has his USWA NATIONAL TITLE around and he is as cocky as ever. Piper begins by “welcoming” Hacksaw Butch Reed. As Reed comes out Piper says “My you are a big boy aint ya.” This bothers Hacksaw who comes right back at Piper and says that “you better watch who you are calling boy. Piper continues, “Big and a bit testy. I actually understand that. You are feeling a bit insecure as of late. I mean look at you. Big, Strong athletic and you wonder why you can’t beat Ernie Ladd. You wonder why you never get any title shots. Reed: Shut up Piper. Everyone here knows that I can not only beat Ernie Ladd but if you weren’t such a coward, I would be the National Champ. Why don’t you put that belt on the line. I mean I am out there each and every night busting my butt for this company and I never see you. I mean you sit here and let the Sheepherders protect you. You talk for a few minutes a week and then pretend to be a champion. Piper: “Pretend to be a champion. Ha! Is it my fault that this stupid company can’t produce anyone worth my time in the ring.” Reed now stands up and pokes Piper in the chest and says, “I guarantee you that I would be worth your time. I also guarantee you that I would woop your skirt wearing behind and take you to the woodshed like your mama should have down to you when you was a spoiled brat of a kid. The Sheepherders start to inch in and Reed basically dares the three of them to make a move. The crowd begins to cheer as Eddie Graham walks on the set. Piper wonders why he is here but insinuates that Reed is lucky he did. Eddie Graham, to the delight of the crowd, tells Piper to Shut Up. He goes on to say that he is sick and tired of Piper using this forum to insult and then physically attack other wrestlers. He runs down the list from Bill Dundee to his son Mike to Rick McGraw. Piper tells him to “hold on just a minute. I get it now. You are out here interfering in my show because you are mad that I had the guts to slap the taste out of that boy of yours a few weeks ago. Eddie Graham continues to say that is not the reason why he is here tonight. He continues to say that he is here because he agrees with Hacksaw Reed and that Piper has been hiding behind the Sheepherders and the rules of the USWA for long enough. It is time to become a fighting champion. Piper does some quick back-peddling and goes on to say that he already has a tough match with Rick McGraw this week. Graham interrupts by saying “that match has just been changed. You will now wrestle Hacksaw Butch Reed this week in the Columbus Municipal Auditorium and the title will be on the line. He goes on to say that he is sick and tired of Piper using illegal objects, intimidating referees and getting help from outsiders like the Sheepherders so he has hired a special referee for this match. Piper, still arrogant as ever, asks who this referee would be. Graham goes on to say that instead of telling you, I would rather show you. All of a sudden the crowd goes wild as Tony Atlas walks out in a referee shirt with the sleeves torn off. Piper starts yelling furiously as Atlas and Reed shake hands with a big smile on their faces. Graham ends the segment by saying just so Mr. Piper can see what type of referee Tony will make, he is going to ref the next match which is coming up right after this segment. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: Crusher Ottman vs The Missing Link with Tony Atlas as the Guest Refere The match is pretty wild from the beginning to the end. Both men have their chance with the momentum but one thing that is certain is that Tony Atlas is in complete control. Anytime either one of the wrestlers tried to bend the rules, Atlas got right in the middle of it and kept them on the straight and narrow. He showed no fear in pushing the maniac Link back from the turnbuckle when he threatened an illegal break. He also grabbed the arm of Ottman and prevented the big boy from throwing a closed fist. The end of the match came after Ottman connected with a running splash and Atlas made the three count. ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: Buzz & Brett Sawyer vs The Nightmares (Ted Allen and Steve Travis under masks) The Sawyers continue to get better and better as a tag team and this match was rather one sided with the end coming with a Power Slam by Buzz Sawyer on Steve Travis The Sawyers go over to Gordon Solie and rant about how they want the House of Humperdink and that demon Kevin Sullivan. Buzz says that he has heard Kevin Sullivan is called the task master but after what he just saw in the back, Dusty Rhodes is the true Task Master and that the end is near for Sir Oliver Humperdink and Sullivan and his Army of Minions. Kevin Sullivan comes out to the desk as the crowd boos loudly. Solie begs for everybody to remain calm but Sullivan ignores him. “Buzz Sawyer. We all know you are the Mad Dog but if you believe that fat slob Dusty Rhodes will evar get the best of me, you are sadly mistaken. Rememba I am protected by the infinite layers of my Minions. I have traveled the world to find the most loyal and most dangerous men in the world. One day I used to have high hopes for you. I mean you are the Mad Dog and who is more loyal than a dog. How about you just tell me what information you have in that pea brain of your and I might just throw you a doggy biscuit. Buzz Sawyer just laughs and laughs and you can just tell he is not right in his head as Gordon Solie tells the fans to stay put as the Main event is up next and it will feature Dusty Rhodes and Mike Graham vs Abdullah The Butcher and The Botswana Man-Eater ------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS------------------------------------------ MATCH: DUSTY RHODES & MIKE GRAHAM VS ADBULLAH THE BUTCHER & THE BOTSWANA MAN EATER with SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK Sir Oliver Humperdink and Kevin Sullivan are at the interview desk and they are both verbally attacking Buzz Sawyer and what he just said. He reminds Gordon Solie that they have a Master Plan and that they are in charge of USWA Wrestling. Solie does he best to remain impartial but you can tell he is sick to his stomach that this two are at the desk. He does his best to put over this feud and this match in a way that makes him sound impartial. As you would expect the match is wild from the beginning. The House is brutal in everything they do but Graham and Rhodes are up to the challenge. The action spills out onto the floor and once again Sullivan seems to go into some sort of trance as he begins to rant “The sins of the father are the sins of the son.” As normal of late, Humperdink calls for reinforcements and out rushes Hercules Hernandez and Purple Haze but before they can reach the ring the Sawyers and Crusher Ottman hit the arena floor. It is now 5-5 and the brawl is all over the studio. Gordon Solie announces that this must have been what the Sawyers were talking about. Dusty really seems to have been ready for this attack. The Sawyers are battling Hernandez and Purple Haze. Crusher Ottman and Abdullah are beating each other and Mike Graham is taking it to Hercules Hernandez. DUSTY HAS FINALLY GOTTEN HIS HANDS ON KEVIN SULLIVAN. After another moment of a Pier 6 Brawl, Gordon Solie is heard saying, “Waitaminute. Could it be? Yes it is. It is BLACKJACK MULLIGAN and he is coming out with a steel chain. He heads right for Sullivan as does Mike Graham and Dusty Rhodes. They place the chain around Sullivan’s neck. Dusty and Mulligan begin to choke the life out of Sullivan and then they actually toss the other end over the top rope and then begin to lift Sullivan off the ground. They are actually hanging him. Officials and wrestlers pour out of the back and try and stop this wild scene as Gordon Solie announces that “Sometimes a man gets pushed too far and this seems to be one of those times. It is obvious that Dusty has lost it but who can blame. Sorry but we are out of time for this week. “So long from Atlanta.”
  20. Just love the roster and how you continue to have the top stars struggle at times. Hulkster not even #1 contender Road Warriors going down. And you did a great job of ending the show with the fan favorites winning!
  21. Good show with great lead-ins to the next show. Like the Marathon Match idea Interested to see a potential Garea-Larry Z feud. I always hated Zbyszko but I guess that is why he was great. Interested to see who Flair will face.
  22. THIS WEEK IN USWA WRESTLING: HOSTED BY GORDON SOLIE 5/19/1984: WTBS SHOW AIRED NATIONALLY 9:05 AM- 10:05 AM SPONSERED BY PRO WRESTLING ILLUSTRATED “Hello again everybody. Welcome to This Week in USWA Wrestling. I am Gordon Solie joined this week by Bill Apter and together we will catch you up to date on all the comings and goings here in the USWA. The show begins with Solie and Apter talking about how hot this feud between Hacksaw Reed and Ernie Ladd is getting. They go over how USWA President Eddie Graham has decided that the two will meet in a steel cage and the loser will have to leave the USWA for 30 days in an attempt to cool off this feud. Ernie Ladd then comes out and joins Solie and Apter and puts over his hatred for Reed. “I am sick and tired of tat drunken Reed putting his nose in my business. He is full of whiskey and we all know it and there is no way he is going to beat me. They all now I am the biggest and baddest athlete here in the USWA and I am going to send that drunk back to Africa for a 30 day vacation. There aint no doubt about it. What do you think of that Solie . Solie says “Well I think we can terminate this interview. Fair enough. Solie and Apter then begin to discuss the USWA World Tag Team situation and really put over what a week it was for Wildfire Rich and Dusty Rhodes. They head right to the video tape from the Richmond County Coliseum in Augusta, Georgia and show the end of the match between the champs and the team of Kendo Nagasaki and Carlos Colon. The tape shows that the challengers had no interest in winning the titles but in hurting the champs, especially Rich. Ref Scrappy McGowan stopped the match after Nagasaki went to the Kendo Stick and Colon went to the steel pipe. In the end Rich and Rhodes were left a bloody mess and Rich was unable to even walk. He was carried out on a stretcher as Nagasaki and Colon celebrated by making the money sign with their fingers. Solie and Apter say this must be in reference to the bounty put on the head of Tommy Rich by the NWA Southern Champion Jerry Lawler. They go on to say that because of their actions, Carlos Colon and Kendo Nagasaki have been suspended indefinatly form the USWA. Solie and Apter then turn to another video tape from 2 days later in the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama. This is another title defense between the champs and the #1 challengers The Sheepherders. As the tape begins, it is evident the champs are still suffering from the beating two days earlier from Colon and Nagasaki. In fact they are so slow that the Sheepherders are in control of much of the match. The end came when Bill Lampier was distracted by Luke Williams which allowed Butch Miller to clock Wildfire with the flag pole in the head. Lampier turned around just in time to make the 3 count. Solie and Apter put over the fact that we now have new World Tag Team Champions and say that the Sheepherders will be double tough to defeat. Solie then calls out Tommy Rich who is carrying only the World Title. Rich thanks Solie and Apter for having him on the show today but you can tell he is a little depressed. He can’t believe that he has let that stinking King Jerry Lawler get the best of him and he doesn’t want to make any excuses but he feels that if it wasn’t for Colon and Kagasaki, he and Rhodes would still be the champs. He thanks Eddie Graham for suspending them and he vows that Dusty and he will get the titles back. Gordon goes on to say that he must now focus and beating Lawler in Dothan on May 27th and again he wants to show Wildfire a short tape from Memphis and CWA Wrestling on Ch. 5 with Lance Russell and Jerry Lawler. Lance: "now speaking of World Champions, apparently your comments last week raised the ire of the USWA World Champion, Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich…he made some comments about you on the USWA show this week, let's take a look at a video.." (Lawler interupts) King: "No Lance, we're not going to listen to any crap from Tommy Rich…the so-called USWA Champion…..notice I didn't say WORLD champion…because he's not! You know what USWA stands for Lance?" Lance: "United States Wrestling Association?" King: (laughs) "No, it stands for Ugly Stupid Worthless A-holes…" Lance: "Ok, now take it easy Jerry." King: "Sorry Lance, but every time someone even mentions that jerk Tommy Rich it gets my blood boiling! I can't stand that guy and I can't stand anybody associated with the USWA…." Again Rich is on fire and furious about Lawler’s comments. Rich goes on to say that he can put down me all he wants but he has no right to put down this belt, this organization and these great fans. Rich goes on to wonder why if Lawler doesn’t recognize this Championship, he is trying so hard to win it. Rich goes on to say that he might not be able to wait until May 27th in Dothan and that he might have to make a little trip up there to Memphis to start “whooping on the Queen.” He goes on to say that “Austin Idol and I have not always been on the same side but that anyone who is an enemy of the Lawler is a friend of his.” Rich continues by saying I am sorry about being so angry but when a wrestle whose greatest claim to fame is beating an midget actor like Andy Kauffman puts me down, it is time to take a stand.” Solie ends the segment with “Katie Bar the door. This one is going to be wild.” He then says that when the get back they will show more highlights from that great card from the Boutwell Auditorim. ----------------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK ------------------------------ Apter and Solie review and show some highlights from this week’s major card from the Boutwell Auditorium. · The Botswana Man-Eater with Sir Oliver Humperdink defeated King Cobra · Ernie Ladd defeated Steve Travis and Ricky Gibson in a Handicap Match with the Big Boot. · Kevin Sullivan & The Purple Haze defeated Mike Graham and PVT. Kernodle when Haze caught Kernodle in the Sleeper. This allowed them to attack Graham 2-1 after the match was over and they beat him until help came from the back. · Hacksaw Butch Reed defeated Moondog Cujo with a Gorilla Press Slam · USWA NATIONAL NON-TITLE MATCH: Roddy Piper defeated Rick Quick Draw McGraw after using a foreign object. · USWA NATIONAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The Fabulous Ones defeated The Missing Link & Killer Khan when Keirn caught Link in a reverse DDT. · The House of Humperdink (Abdullah the Butcher and Hercules Hernandez) defeated The Sawyers while the ref was down and Kevin Sullivan entered the ring and nailed Buzz with a spike to the forehead and busted him wide open. As they go to break, Solie and Apter saw they have a special guest up next and that they have footage from this week’s TNT card from the Civic Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. ----------------------------------------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK ------------------------------ Gordon Solie and Bill Apter are very excited about their next guest. They announce the newest member of the USWA and out walks Mr. Wrestling II. Gordon Solie says this is like welcoming an old friend home and then he goes in to the rumors that were coming out of Mid–South Wrestling that II was going to retire. Mr. Wrestling II says that retirement is on his mind and that he is battling some injuries but he could not sit at home and watch old buddies like Dusty Rhodes and Tommy Rich deal with such scumas Kevin Sullivan and Jerry Lawler. He says that he is going to give this everything he has left and he is ready to go to war in the USWA. Gordon Solie says that he knows II will give it everything he has and again, that it is great to have him back. Solie and Apter now turn their attention to TNT wrestling and review some of the great feuds that are going on including The Outlaws vs The VonErichs and Curt Hennig and Baby Doll against Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and his manager Sheri Martel. Apter says “speaking of the VonErichs, Kerry and Kevin have a huge match in the CWA against Jack and Jerry Brisco for the NWA Southern Tag Title. Apter and Solie now review and show some highlights from this week’s major card from Tulsa, Oklahoma. · Mike VonErich defeated Wendell Cooley with the Iron Claw · Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Bobby Jaggers after connecting with a Top Rope Moonsault. The fans were again awed by his agility. Bigelow was attacked by the rest of the Outlaws after the match. · Sweet Brown Sugar & Brickhouse Brown defeated Steve Simpson and Ted Allen after a double dropkick on Allen. · Baby Doll defeated Sheri Martel after connecting with what she later called The Perfect 10 Slam. This was more of a catfight then a wrestling match as these two just tried to beat on each other. Martel was obviously more skilled but the size and power of Baby Doll wore her down. This victory gave Curt Hennig a title shot on the next TNT television show. · USWA NATIONAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The Fabulous Ones defeated Ron Bass and Black Bart when the Outlaws were disqualified for using the cow bell to bust open Steve Keirn. · Kevin Von Erich and Curt Hennig defeated Mr. Saito, Great Kabuki when Kevin VonErich connected with a Top Rope VonErich Splash. · TNT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert with Sherri Martel defeated challenger Bruiser Brody when Sheri Martel tripped Bordy which allowed Gilbert to connect with a DDT. · MAIN EVENT: USWA WORLD TITLE MATCH Tommy “Wildfire” Rich and Kerry VonErich wrestled to a 30 minute draw. Rich almost gained the victory after he locked in the sleeper but Kerry was able to break the hold. VonErich did actually lock in the Iron Claw and almost became the new champion but Rich reached the ropes. Both wrestlers shook hands after the bout and the fans were really appreciative of the sportsmanship. Gordon Solie and Bill Apter really put over how great this show was and that the match between Tommy Rich and Kerry VonErich was a classic. Solie pushes how exciting the USWA and TNT is and then they start to push the next major show which is May 26th in Dothan, Alabama at the Farm Center Solie reminds everyone to join them on TBS tonight at 6:05 for the next USWA show as the credits roll and the screen turns to black.
