Mid-South Wrestling 1988: Episode #15: April 15, 1988 Gordon Solie: Thank you so very, very much indeed for turning into another episode of Mid-South Wrestling. I’m Gordon Solie and it is my pleasure to be coming to you today from the Riverside Centroplex in Baton Rouge. Before we get to tonight’s action, I want to bring you back to last week where we saw Missy Hyatt and Eddie Gilbert attack Hot Stuff Inc. member Rick Steiner. VTR: After Steiner’s draw and successful TV title defense against JYD, Missy Hyatt, after showing up JYD, Steiner seemed upset at Hyatt and her treatment of the Dog. Missy proceeded to spray perfume in both the eyes of Steiner and JYD and Eddie Gilbert rushed out and attacked his tag team partner, Rick Steiner. After nailing him with a couple of Hot Shots, Gilbert and Hyatt rushed to safety as Scott Steiner and Hercules Hernandez rushed out to help Rick and JYD. Gordon Solie: BRO-ther, that was some incident last week. We will be hearing from both Eddie Gilbert and Rick Steiner in today’s show to see if the two have found a way to make amends. Also on today’s show, we will see Ted Dibiase taking on Cougar Jay. Manny Fernandez will be making his return to Mid-South Wrestling and will be taking on Killer Brooks. The Mid-South Tag Team Champions, Hercules Hernandez & Scott Steiner will square off against The Assassins. Dr. Death squares off against The Red Shadow and in the Main Event, it will be Rick Steiner putting his Mid-South Television Title on the line against the big bull Vader! It looks like we are ready for our first bout. Let’s get to the ring. MATCH #1: Louisiana Title Match Ted Dibiase with Sheik Adnan Al Kassie defeats Cougar Jay by submission with the Figure Four As Dibiase and The Sheik head to the podium, they are joined by Mid-South President Ernie Ladd. Ernie Ladd: Perfect timing. Just the duo I want to see. Sheik Adnan, do you want to here the good news or the bad news first. Sheik Adnan: Here we go again Ladd. We don’t have time for your games. You pick. Ernie Ladd: Okay, let’s do the good news for you. Your tag team, the Barbarians has been named the #1 contenders for the Mid-South tag team titles and they will face Scott Steiner and Hercules Hernandez at the next big card at the Lakefront Arena on May 6th. Sheik Adnan: Finally, Mr. Ladd, you and your cronies have seen the forest through the trees. The Barbarians are an unstoppable force and soon they will be champions. Ernie Ladd: And now for your bad news and my fun news. Last week, I said that if there was any evidence that the beast who attacked Jake Roberts two weeks ago in Lakefront Arena had any previous relationship with you or any member of the Million Dollar Corporation, that you would be stripped of the Louisiana Title. Ted Dibiase: What are you getting at Ladd? Ernie Ladd: After your last scheme Dibiase, we had cameras put into the locker room and this is what we saw after your last match against Jake Roberts. VTR: We see Ted Dibiase shaking hands with the savage beast who had attacked Jake Roberts prior to the Louisiana Title Match. Next, Dibiase hands the Wildman a large paper bag full of money. Ernie Ladd: Not sure words can get you out of this one Dibiase but go ahead and try. I think we have you caught red handed. Ted Dibiase: First of all Ladd… cameras in the locker room. A new low, even for you. Also, an invasion of privacy I believe. My lawyer, Rufus Buckley, will be hearing about this. Now as for the money you think I illegally paid of Alofa with. Gordon Solie: Alofa? Ted Dibiase: Yes Mr. Puppet. Alofa. After what I saw Alofa do to Jake Roberts, I realized that he was exactly the type of man I needed in the Million Dollar Corporation. I mean Jake Roberts has repeatedly used an illegal move, the DDT, on me … on the concrete no less. So to protect me against that lunatic, Jake Roberts, I hired Alofa as my new personal security guard. Ernie Ladd: Come on Dibiase. You expect me to believe this nonsense. So, if he is your new personal security guard, where is he now. Ted Dibiase: A little slow Mr. Ladd. Try and pay attention. I told you, he is to protect me from Jake Roberts. I also was told that neither Mr. Roberts and Mr. Ellering are in the building tonight. Correct. Ernie Ladd: Correct. Ted Dibiase: So why then would Alofa be here. Ernie Ladd: You are on thin ice Dibiase. Thin Ice. Next week, it will be you and Jake Roberts right here on TV with your title on the line. And if The Shiek, the Barbarians, Mike Rotundo, or “Alofa” interfere in the slightest, say good bye to your title. Ted Dibiase: How about we just say goodbye to you. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR RAPIDES PARISH COLISEUM IN ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA When we come out of break, Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt are with Gordon Solie. Gordon Solie: Eddie, I’ve got to ask… What happened last week between you and Rick Steiner. Eddie Gilbert: I’ll tell ya what happened. Missy and myself stopped carrying that ingrate Rick Steiner. I mean everything we did for him. We trained him. We nurtured him. We became his family and then he has the nerve to not do the simple things. We asked him to put the Mid-South tag team titles ahead of himself. I mean I put my career… the career of the Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert, on hold to help this snot-nose kid… but no… all he cared about was himself. Well after he gave half an effort in our title match against Hercules Hernandez and Scott Steiner… Missy and I had seen enough. Missy Hyatt: Then, last week, he goes and puts Junkyard Dog ahead of me. You all saw it… on national TV, he tells me what to do. Who does he think he is. After all we did for him… He got exactly what he deserved. And let me tell you… this is just the beginning. Eddie Gilbert: Or maybe Missy.. this is the beginning of the end… for Rick Steiner! Gordon Solie: Fair enough. Let’s get back to the action. MATCH #2 “The Ragging Bull” Manny Fernendez defeats Killer Brooks with Flying Bodypress Post-match interview with Manny Fernadez Gordon Solie: Congratulations Manny on your first win here in Mid-South Wrestling. What brings you to the area. Manny Fernandez: Gordon, What brings me to Mid-South Wrestling is simple. Every time I turned on the Superstation I saw this is where the big boys play. I mean every match here is like a back-alley brawl and that’s just the way the Raggin Bull likes it. I grew up fighting in the streets of El Paso, Texas and now can’t wait to do some fighting in the ring all across Louisiana. Gordon Solie: Fair enough Manny. We look forward to seeing more of you in the ring. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR RAPIDES PARISH COLISEUM IN ALEXANDRIA, LOUISIANA Prior to our next match, Hacksaw Butch Reed is at the podium. Gordon Solie: Hacksaw, your recent run-ins with the Snowman has taken everyone here by surprise. I mean I for one had no idea why he attacked you in your title match with Lex Luger. Hacksaw Reed: Gordon, to tell you the truth, I might not know Snowman if I bumped into him on the street. We have never wrestled each other. We have never been tag team partners. I don’t even think we were ever in the same territory at the same time. We he singled me out… We he called both Ernie Ladd and myself Uncle Tom’s… I got no Idea. The only thing I can think of is jealousy. He wishes he was the first black man to hold the NWA title. He wishes he was the first black man to hold the UWF title. And if he interferes in my next Mid-South Title Match at Lakefront Arena, he is going to wish he never stepped foot in Louisiana. Gordon Solie: Very strong words from Hacksaw Butch Reed. We will just have to wait and see as Snowman has vowed to be at Lakefront Arena on May, 6. Let’s get back to the ring. MATCH #3 Mid-South Tag Team Title Match Hercules Hernandez & Scott Steiner defeat the Assassins in a tough battle that saw Hercules Hernandez finally connect with a devastating clothesline on Assassin #1 The post-match interview began by focusing on the upcoming Mid-South Tag Team Title match in a couple of weeks where the champs will face the Barbarians. In the middle of the segment, Rick Steiner comes out and we get a rather emotional Rick Steiner asking Scott for forgiveness. Scott quickly reminded Rick that he was never angry with Rick and he kept telling everyone that Rick would need to see for himself what type of lowlife Eddie Gilbert was. The two embraced and walked off with Hercules Hernandez. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR LAKEFRONT ARENA When we come out of break, Woman and Lex Luger are at the podium Gordon Solie: Lex… many say that you got lucky in your last match against Hacksaw Butch Reed. Many saw that Snowman saved your title. Lex Luger: This is all getting a bit ridiculous. I mean how many times do I have to beat Butch Reed. The last three times him and I got in the ring together, I came out just as I went into the match… As the champion. Guess what… the exactly same thing is going to happen on March 6th. Reed, it’s not only that I got your number…. I am just clearly the future of professional wrestling and you are nothing more than the past. Woman: Gordon, baaaby, you always want to put my man down. You want to talk about how lucky he was. I think you are leaving a few things out. First of all, Vader let us down when he lost to Dr. Death allowing that overgrown guerrilla to be the referee for the title match. Gordon Solie: Speaking if Vader where is he? Woman: Gordon, baaaby, I don’t ask where your wife is when you sit here week after week staring at me so I am confused at why you always want to get involved in my business. (Gordon seems to be turning red) But if you must know, Vader is in the back getting ready for his Television Tag match against Rick Steiner. Now don’t try and change the subject. Lex is the Total Package. The best there is in professional wrestling. Dr. Death can’t change that. Hacksaw Reed can’t change that. In fact, there is not a man alive that can change that. On May 6th, we will AGAIN prove that! MATCH #4 Dr. Death Steve Williams defeats The Red Shadow with the Oklahoma Stampede A quick post-match promo has Dr. Death angry at Woman about calling his win against Vader luck and that he is ready for Lex Luger if Luger somehow survives his match with Hacksaw in Lakefront Arena then Dr. Death will be ready to take that Mid-South title. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR LAKEFRONT ARENA Main Event Match Mid-South TV Title Match Rick Steiner (without Missy Hyatt) vs Vader with Woman For the second time in two weeks, we get a huge TV title match to end the show. The big difference is that Rick Steiner in now a fan favorite as he has gone his separate ways from Hot Stuff Incorporated. Though as much as things change, they stay the same as for the second week in a row, we get a 10-minute draw. This match was full of devastating power moves and both men looked to be on the verge of victory multiple times during the match. Again, just the same as last week, Eddie Gilbert rushes the ring and tries to take advantage of a worn out Steiner but this time Rick is ready for him and catches him with the German Suplex. Missy Hyatt was a frantic mess after this and dragged her man to safety. As the show ends, Steiner is getting some serious love from the crowd but Women seems upset that her man is not leaving as the new Mid-South TV champion. Gordon Solie: Folks, we are just three weeks away from the next big show in Lakefront Arena and things are really getting pretty wild around here. Make sure to join us next week were the main event will be the huge Louisiana Heavyweight Title match between Ted Dibiase and Jake “The Snake” Roberts. So long from the Pelican State. Dark Matches included: 1. The Texas Outlaws (Dick Murdoch & Stan Hansen) crushing two jobbers. 2. Shaun Simpson is an exciting, high flying debut victory over Trent Knight 3. The Mongolian Stomper in his Mid-South debut using the sleeper to knockout Verlon Biggs

Mid-South adds Buddy Roberts, Mike Davis, Tommy Lane, Iceman Parsons and Fidel Sierra, Todd Champion and Curtis Thompson and drops Mark Fleming, Killer Brooks and Spike Huber

CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING ASSOCIATION: EPISODE #7: April 22, 1988 The traditional CWA opening is played with some music being played as we see all the big stars of Memphis past hitting big moves. One exception is there is no Jerry “The King” Lawler in the intro. (As the show starts, with see Lance Russell, Dutch Mantell, and Jeff Gaylord (Dutch’s bodyguard) Lance Russell: Yeeellow Everybody. Lance Rusell alongside Dirty Dutch Mantell. By golly we’re ready to fire off another great week of championship wrestling. This is professional wrestling like it used to be and the way you like it. On today’s show, Too Cold Scorpio will be in action. Boris Zhukov, Soldat Ustinov and Shaska Whatley will be here in 6 Man Tag action. The Dirty White Boy will be in the ring. Also, we’re going to here from Mr. Ron Wright. He says he has some big news but we’ll have to see about that. Dutch, why don’t you tell us about today’s big main event. Dutch Mantell: First things first. I don’t want to be rude like you Lance. Let’s not forget to introduce my personal security guard… Jeff Gaylord. With that lunatic Shane Douglas running around, Jeff might just be the most important man in Memphis. And on to the Main Event… we’re going to see “The Hustler” Rip Rogers hustle another $500 out of the hide of Tim Horner. Lance Russell: Well We’re ready to kick off our first match. Bell Time! Heeeeerrreeeeeee we go! Match #1 Too Cold Scorpio vs Trent Knight Too Cold Scorpio again gets the crowd grooving from the beginning as he comes out dancing to Jungle Boogie by Cool and the Gang. Scorpio jumps over the top rope and climbs to the top turnbuckle and does a back flip to really get the crowd hooked. For the entire match, Scorpio wows the fans. His arsenal included missile drop kicks, top rope cross body blocks, superkicks and all other aerial tactics. The end had the crowd talking all night as he climbed rope and did a double flip right on his already fallen opponent! Just like last time, Lance hypes up Too Cold but Dutch could care less about the wrestler he called Too Hot Torpedo. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville When we come out of break, Jeff Jarret is with Lance Russell. Jeff Jarrett: Fans, I know you are very family with my father. Now it is my job to have you get to know me very well. I’m going to do my best to live up to not only the Jarrett name but also the standards here in championship wrestling. I might not be the biggest men here. I might not have all the experience that some of the guys do but what I do got is heart and respect for this business. I hope to bring a lot of excitement to the ring and give everybody more than then paid for. Lance Russell: Well I just want to wish you a lot of luck in this business. Knowing your Dad as well as I do, I have no doubt you’ll put the work in. Now Dutch, during that last break, I was just informed of next week’s main event. Brad Armstrong will be back from Japan and he and Tim Horner along with a partner of their choosing, will be taking on the Big Russians, Boris Zhukov and Soldat Ustinov along with Shaska Whatley in the main event 6 Man tag match. Dutch Mantell: Just a bit of advice to Brad Armstrong even though I know he isn’t smart enough to take it. Stay in Japan. Eat your Sushi, wear your kimono and stay in the Land of the Rising Sun because if you make it here for that match, your sun may never rise again. Lance Russell: Come on now Dutch. You know that Brad will be here. There isn’t an Armstrong alive that has ever backed down from a fight. Dutch Mantell: The key word there is “alive.” I bet there are plenty of them who are dead after fighting men like Zhukov and Ustinov. Lance Russell: That’ll be enough of that Dutch. Let’s hear a pre-recorded message from Tim Horner Tim Horner: The time has finally come. Next week, Brad and myself, finally get a second chance at the Russians and Shaska Whatley for what they did to us when they lied to us that Soldat was back in Russia on official business. Things are finally getting in line. Brad will be back and we will make the most of this second chance. As for our partner, you all know him real well and he is going to scare the living daylights out of the Russians and Shaska Whatley. Who is it? We’re not going to tell you right now but you’re just going to have to wait till you step in the ring next week to find out. Lance Russell: That match I’ll sure be a doozy. Let’s go to the ring as the Russians and Shaka get a little warmup for next week. MATCH #2: 6 Man Tag Match Boris Zhukov, Soldat Ustinov and Shaska Whatley destroy Steve Patterson, Trent Riggans and Vance Smith. The end came when Zhukov connected with a Russian Sickle on Patterson. Riggans and Vance foolishly tried to make the save. Riggans got a sickle of his own from Ustinov and Smtih was hit with a perfect dropkick from Whatley. The winners proceeded to beat their opponents until the ref threatened to reverse the decision. Post-Match Interview: While Shaska does the talking, the Russians are stomping around and cracking their big chains on the floor. Shaska Whatley: Let me tell you about the Lightening Express … they aint never won nothing in their life and they sure as heck aren’t going to start next week with us brother. Have you ever in all your born days seen such a trio as us. We’re stoppable. There’s not 3 men on this Earth that can beat us. Especially not the Lightening Express. I don’t care who your mystery partner is. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville Lance Russell: Fans, if you remember last week, Eddie Marlin, the General Manager of Championship Wrestling made the decision to ban Ron Wright from ringside because of his constant interference in the matches. It did not sit to well with Mr. Wright and he has asked for some time on today’s show to make his point. Ron Wright wheels himself to the podium. Ron Wright: Now it’s just a disgrace what Eddie Marlin did last week. I know Jerry Jarrett was behind this. I mean those two can’t stand for a Christian man to try and right their wrongs. They’ve been on the wrong side of the law as far as professional rastling goes for a long, long time. Now let me tell you something Lance Ruseell. It’ll take a smarter group of men than Eddie Marlin and Jerry Jarrett to outsmart me. I’ve finished up my scountin for now and I got a man under contract now and we’re going to go down to that ring and show all these heathens what rastlin and managing is all about. The Christian Rastling Association has begun here in Memphis. MATCH #3: The Dirty White Boy with Ron Wright defeats Bill Tabb after he whipped him face first into the turnbuckle and when Tabb staggered out backwards, The Dirty White Boy clobbered him with a clothesline to the back of the head. Interesting thing here was that Eddie Marlin came to ringside first to make sure that Ron Wright had actually signed DWB to a contract. When Wright showed him the contract, Marlin had no choice but to slump back to his office. Ron Wright and The Dirty White Boy make their way back to the podium. Ron Wright: Let me tell ya’ll sometin. This man is signed on the dotted line. Because of him I now have hope. Hope of someday getting out of this wheelchair. Hope of someday being able to afford this hip and knee surgeries I so badly need. Ron Wright and DWB shake hands before DWB speaks. DWB: If Mr. Wright is happy then the Dirty White Boy is happy. Now you people might not know who I am but you will in just a very short time. I’m here to make as much money for myself and Mr. Wright and the easiest way to do that is to win that Southern Heavyweight Title you got coming up here real soon. I am glad you picked me to help you, the legend Ron Wright. I promise you that together, we will soon be on top of championship wrestling. And let’s not forget, we will do it the Christian Way! Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville When we come out of break, Rip Rogers is holding up an issue of the National Inquire. Rip Rogers: I just want to clear up a few rumors. Rumors that seem to be in the headlines of all the national publications. Well, please, uneducated people of Tennessee, don’t believe everything you read. That is, if you can read at all. I’m going to tell you people once and for all. I did not break up Vanna White and Sylvester Stallion. Why, we all know I have a better body then Sly and that any woman would chose me over him, I did not fly to Hollywood last week to break up their relationship and I’m not flying to Hawaii this weekend for a secret wedding with Vanna. While Vanna White and I are good friends, there is nothing romantic about our relationship. To tell you the truth, Vanna is not my type. She doesn’t look like she has spent a day in the gym in a long, long time. As Rogers walks away, Lance wonders if Rip is a legend in his own mind while Dutch complains that Lance is just jealous because Vanna White wants Rip Rogers. When Lance tries to change the subject to tonight’s main event match against “White Lightening” Tim Horner, Rogers attitude changes to one of anger. Rip Rogers: Tim Honer, you tobacco-chewing redneck, I’m about to take $500 more of your money. I did exactly what I said I was going to do. The Marathon Man that I am, performed squats for the entire hour and there was nothing your hillbilly brain could do about it. Well tonight, it’ll be like taking candy from a baby… and Tim Horner… you and your pot-belly look like you’ve eaten a lot of candy. MATCH #4 Big Money Marcus defeats Jerry Adams with a Bear Hug turned into a Powerslam The mystery about Big Money Marcus continues to grow. Added to his dark suit and sunglasses tonight was a small case that Lance Russell said looked like a violin case but Dutch was certain it was a case for a gun. Dutch then reminded everyone about the link between Big Money and the Gambino crime family in N.Y. Lance vowed to get to the bottom of this after the match but Marcus walked right passed him and refused even to make eye contact when Lance asked for an interview. After the bout, Dick Slater comes out to the podium where we see a quick video clip of his win last week over the Masked Mauler. Lance Russell: He Dick… glad to have you hear today. You know that tournament to crown the new Southern Heavyweight Champion is just around the corner and a lot if guys around here are saying they think they can win the title. Dick Slater: Let me ask you this Lance. You’re a man that’s been around here a long time and you know this business inside and out. Who do you have your money on? Lance: Let me put it this way. I wouldn’t bet against you Dick. Dick Slater: Well you’d be a fool to. I’d tell you that much. In this business, united we stand and divided we fall and when we get in that tournament a lot of people are going to fall to my piledriver and I will be the one standing when all is said and done. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville MAIN EVENT MATCH “The Hustler” Rip Roger vs “White Lightening” Tim Horner Tim Horner gets all the fans excited as he enters the ring to Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA.” He is high-fiving as many fans as he can and seems eager to get this match underway. The cheers quickly change to boos as “You Give Love a Bad Name” is heard from the speakers and Rip Rogers comes to the ring in his normal pink vest and pink tights. Horner is ready to go but Rogers makes the ref keep him away as he once again grabs the house mic and starts his gimmick. Rip Rogers: What I would like to have right now is for all you fat and out of shape sorry excuses for men who are sitting here reliving your glory days, to be quiet so I can scan the audience for one good looking woman to help me remove my vest. Most of the audience is booing but some ladies seem eager to come help Rip Rogers with the vest. Rogers circles the ring, while scanning the audience for a helper. Rip Rogers: Ummm, I can’t believe it, not one good looing woman in the entire audience. I guess ugly just keeps breeding ugly in this part of the county. I guess it will be just another week of me taking of my own vest. WHAM… White Lightening can’t take the insults of his native Tennessee people any more and attacks Rogers. The ref calls for the bell and we are under way. The bout is actually pretty technical for the first 4 minutes as we get both men using a lot of headlocks, armbars, head scissors, etc… Eventually Rogers tires of this style and tosses Horner to the floor. Give Rogers some credit here as he shows some athleticism and comes over the top rope all the way to the floor with an ax handle chop to Horner. Horner now goes 3 great minutes playing the face in peril. Eventually, he made his comeback but again Rogers doesn’t back down and the two begin to brawl out on the arena floor. Both men barely make it back to the ring before the 10 count but Rogers has the advantage. He looks poised for the piledriver but Horner blocks it and catches Rip in a rolling cradle for the surprising 3 count! Lance hypes up the fact that Horner has won back his $500. Before Lance signs off for the week, he let’s us all know that Brad Armstrong will be back from Japan next week and our main event will be the Lightening Express and a mystery partner vs Boris Zhukov, Soldat Ustinov and Shaska Whatley. Lance: Until next week, Lance Russell and Dutch Mantell saying bye bye every body.

WOW... WOW...WOW... What an event. I admit that I have been a little busy of late and forgot some of the matches as I read down the show and each match seemed to get me more and more excited to see where you were taking the AWA next. I will admit that I was surprised at Chicky Starr took out Al Perez and this is only because of my lack on knowledge on Chicky. Everyone who has him always puts him in a big role and it is my fault for not doing more research. At this point of their careers, I think you had the better Crippler win but there was something in my rooting for the old, nostalgic Crippler. Nice job continuing your star building of Bully Busick. You have made him a big time name in this game. Also, in this event, you may have begun the star building of Kokina. Many of us have head but weren't sure what to do with him. I'm sure with your ability, that will all change! Greg Gagne knows just how to get under my skin. No, you are not #1!! lol And the era of the Warrior begins. If ever there was a sacrificial lamb in this game, it was Charland. Moment of the night #1 ... Poffo comes out in glitter. Awesome booking. Moment of the night #2... the ode to Magnum T.A.... Nikita with the Belly to Belly. Very historically accurate. Nice job with the whole Koloff-Adams feud. Moment of the night #3... the entire Colon-Bad News match. I would love more!

SuperClash III, to me, served many purposes. It allowed a few wrestlers to get some much needed wins but it also kept your big feuds white hot! Rhodes gets the 3-1 beatdown... We know he will rebound in a crazy match down the road! Throwing Mr. T in with the Freebirds and allowing, in my mind, the third Freebird to take the lose, keeps this one going for a a while, along with selling tickets for a while. I am interested in seeing your end game with Zenk and Haku. Not necessarily with each other but as individuals. Zenk was never my favorite but he had the look and could be big time and we all know what Haku becomes.

Sorry for falling a bit behind here. Really liking where the NWA is at right now. Prichard vs Morgan could be very interesting. I like those monsters vs little guys. I thought Rugged Ron Garvin vs Brooklyn Brawler was a great squash match that could have had some great antics from the Brawler with Garvin shutting him up with the knockout punch. I bet security was in there to stop Wahoo from killing Lightfoot. This is going to be fun. Tully and DeBeers vs Flair and Brody!!!! Love it!

Mid-South Wrestling 1988: Episode #14: April 8, 1988 Gordon Solie: Thank you so very, very much indeed for turning into another episode of Mid-South Wrestling. I’m Gordon Solie and it is my pleasure to be coming to you today from the Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. Before we get to today’s show, we need to update you on a few major happenings from our last supercard at Lakefront Arena. First, Hacksaw Jim Duggan pulled out a huge victory against Super Destroyer in the mask vs contract match. The problem was that Super Destroyer refused to take off his mask, assaulted both the referee and Duggan before hightailing it out of the arena. Duggan did his best to pursue Super Destroyer. Last thing anyone in Mid-South saw was Duggan in a high speed care chase with Super Destroyer, both heading east on Interstate 10. As of now, nobody has heard from either of the two and we are unsure if they will be back in Mid-South Wrestling. Fans, that was just one of the wild situations we had last Monday at the Lakefront Arena and you will be hearing much more of what happened there throughout the hour tonight. As for tonight, we have a great card in-store for you. Jake “The Snake” Roberts will be taking on Killer Brooks. The Barbarians will be in action against Irish McGhee and The Italian Stallion. Hacksaw Butch Reed will be taking on the Masked Mauler. Stan Hansen and Dick Murdoch will be taking on the Assassins and in our main event, it will be Rick Steiner taking on Junkyard Dog with his Mid-South TV Title on the line. Let’s get to the ring for our first match. MATCH #1 Jake “The Snake” Roberts with Paul Ellering defeats Killer Brooks with a DDT After the bout, Roberts and Ellering are with Gordon Solie. Gordon Solie: Jake, another nice win tonight but I think we need to go back to Monday night when you were attacked by some savage beast before your Louisiana Heavyweight title match against Ted Dibiase. Do you have any idea who that was? Jake Roberts: Gordon, every question has a multitude of answers. It is all up to how that question is interpreted. If you are asking what was the name of that monster that attacked me… then the answer is no. If you are asking me who that man was… the simple answer is that he was the latest henchmen from Ted Dibiase who got paid a hefty sum of cash to prevent me from defeating Dibiase and taking the Louisiana Heavyweight Title. Gordon Solie: Jake, while that very well may be the case, do you have any proof to your accusation. Paul Ellering: Are the Barbarians not proof enough. Is scandalous Sheik Adnan Al Kassie not proof enough. Is the notorious black glove not proof enough. Ted Dibiase is nothing if he is not criminally sneaky. The only problem for Mr. Dibiase is that he is the hunted. We are the hunters. In order for the Snake to survive he must eat. We will continue to hunt you until you are no more. If we must first destroy the beast you have put in front of us, all it will do is delay your demise but in the end the story has been written and you will soon fall prey to the Snake. Gordon Solie: Fair enough. Let’s head to break. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR RIVERSIDE CENTROPLEX IN BATON ROUGE When we come out of break, Woman, Lex Luger, and Vader are at the podium. Gordon Solie: Fans, again, I must go back to Monday night at Lakefront Arena. This time the chaos involved the Mid-South Title match between Lex Luger and Hacksaw Butch Reed. Let’s take a look at what happened. VTR: The video shows Woman arguing with special guest referee “Dr. Death” Steve Williams when suddenly a very well-built black man jumps in the ring and attacks Hacksaw Butch Reed with a steel chair. When Dr. Death sees this, he quickly calls for the bell. Gordon Solie: Well Fans, we do know that the man who attacked Butch Reed was the Snowman, a professional wrestler most known for his time in the AWA. Lex, what do you too have to say about what we just saw? Woman: Gordon, baaaby, there is nothing left to say. Hacksaw Butch Reed obviously knew the only way he could defeat Lex Luger was by disqualification, so he hired one of his old buddies from the hood to attack the Perfect Package. Gordon Solie: Uh huh… Lex Luger: Gordon, look at me. I am the perfect athlete. I have been born and breed to be a champion. Hacksaw Butch Reed was good in his day but his day has come and gone. Whoever that guy was that attacked him at Lakefront Arena did him a favor. All that was going to happen if there was not outside interference was that Reed was going to suffer. Suffer a defeat that he may never have been able to recover from. Ernie Ladd comes out… Lex Luger: Oh, here we go again… What’s next Ladd. Ernie Ladd: Lex, I’m glad you asked. While the event at Lakefront Arena was another huge success, it did leave a lot of questions. First, and most important, is the integrity of our Mid-South Title. While you may have no idea who that man was that attacked Hacksaw Reed, I do know that the title match was comprised. As a result of that, I am ordering a rematch between Lex Luger and Hacksaw Butch Reed for Saturday, May 6th back at the Lakefront Arena. Also, Mr. Dibiase, I know you are listening and if I find out that you had anything to do with the attack on Jake “The Snake” Roberts” by that savage beast, then you will be immediately stripped of your title and suspended from Mid-South Wrestling. Gordon Sole: Thank you Mr. Ladd, it seems like May 6th is already shaping up to be a huge event. Also, I would be willing to bet that Dibiase was behind the attack on Jake Roberts. Now we just need to find the proof. Let’s go to the ring. MATCH #2 The Barbarians with Sheik Adnan Al Kassie defeat Irish McGhee & Italian Stallion with a top rope shoulder block by Konga After the match, Ted Dibiase joins Sheik Adnan Al Kassie and the Barbarians at the podium. Gordon Solie: Mr. Dibiase, it seems that a lot of people have some suspicion… Ted Dibiase: Gordon… I’ve respected you for a long time, but I’m giving you this warning out of courtesy. Don’t ever get in my business again. I heard you out here saying you’d bet I was behind the attack on Roberts…. Again… Don’t get in my business. My reputation is on the line. My title is on the line…. And more importantly… your health is on the line. The Barbarians seem to close in on Solie and start jostling him a bit as they basically push him back and forth between themselves. Gordon seems severely frightened and stutters us to a commercial break. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR RIVERSIDE CENTROPLEX IN BATON ROUGE Match #3 Hacksaw Butch Reed defeats The Masked Mauler with the Military Press Slam After the bout, Reed joins Gordon. Gordon Solie: Hacksaw, I must ask you about that attack from the Snowman last Monday night at the Lakefront Arena. I mean the last anybody had heard from him, he was a member of the Brusie Brothers tag team up north in the AWA. Butch Reed: I got no idea what that guy’s problem is, but he cost me the Mid-South Championship and he’s going to pay. Suddenly, Snowman comes out… Solie: Gentlemen… this isn’t the time nor the place. Let’s keep our composure. Snowman: Composure… Composure? I’ve been watching Mid-South Wrestling for a while now and been trying to get a job here and that Uncle Tom president of yours, Ernie Ladd has refused to give me a job and then I got to watch Butch Reed show up just a few months ago and now this Uncle Tom get’s a Mid-South Title shot. I guess it’s not how good you are but how high you jump when the master says so. Ernie Ladd comes rushing out… Ernie Ladd: Now Snowman… I’ve heard about enough from you. Calling myself and Hacksaw Butch Reed Uncle Tom’s is just uncalled for. Now this is the second time in a week you have shown up at a Mid-South Wrestling event and just walked out like you own the place. I could have you arrested for trespassing but instead I’ve given you more than enough space. Now, you know as well as I do, that I have agreed to give you matches here in Mid-South but that you would have to work your way up from the bottom. Snowman: Come on man… I know you work for Master Turner over there at the Superstation but you can’t be serious. Like I said, I aint starting at the bottom and if Uncle Tom Reed got himself a title match, then I deserve one also. Ernie Ladd has seen enough and calls in security to escort him out. As security struggles with Snowman, Snowman is heard promising to be at Lakefront Arena on May 6th and there is nothing any Uncle Tom can do about. Hacksaw Reed seems a bit unnerved by all this and he appears to be concerned that his next title shot will also be compromised. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR RIVERSIDE CENTROPLEX IN BATON ROUGE When we come out of break, Dick Murdoch and Stan Hansen are at the podium Gordon Solie: Gentlemen, I must admit that was some brawl between you at the Barbarians last Saturday night. Dick Murdoch: Let me tell you something, a while back, me and another guy from West Texas used to run from town to town brawling every night against anybody who dared get in the ring. That guy was the American Dream Dusty Rhodes and we were the Texas Outlaws. Now this guy standing next to me is every bit as tough as Dusty was. Every bit as mean as I was and every bit a West Texas as the both of us. Barbarians… if you every want to try it again, The New Texas Outlaws are willing and ready! Stan Hansen (screaming and stomping his way around the promo in such a way that he makes Murdoch look calm) I don’t care if it’s the Barbarians… I don’t care if its Eddie Gilbert …. Heck I don’t care if its Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan…Dick Murdoch called me up about two weeks ago and said things down here in Louisiana have gotten pretty rough and we need to clean this up …Texas Style. When I heard that, I got my trusty cow bell and came running. Nothing makes a Texas Outlaw happier than a good ol’ brawl. Gordon Solie: Fair enough gentlemen. I think they are waiting for you in the ring. Match #4 The Texas Outlaws (Dick Murdoch & Stan Hansen) destroy The Storm Troopers as Hansen hit the Lariat on #1 COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR RIVERSIDE CENTROPLEX IN BATON ROUGE Match #5 Main Event : Mid-South Title Match Rick Steiner © with Missy Hyatt vs Junkyard Dog This match ends up going the distance as we get a 10-minute draw but that is not what will be remembered from this bout. After the ref called for the bell, both Steiner and JYD laid on the mat exhausted. Missy Hyatt comes into the ring, basically laughing at JYD and then goes to help up her man Rick Steiner. Steiner is not very pleased at how Missy treated JYD and lets her know. Missy seems to understand and backs away for a second. Steiner goes to help JYD to his feet…. WHAM… Missy sprays Steiner in the eyes with the hair spray. He is writhing in pain… Gordon Solie: Fans… look at this… Here comes Eddie Gilbert. He is stomping away on both JYD and Rick Steiner. There goes Missy Hyatt with the hairspray. This time she gets JYD right between the eyes. Gilbert has Steiner up…. Hot Shot. Steiner is in trouble. Gilbert is up on the top rope…. Flying Elbow to the neck on Steiner. Here comes the calvary. Yes…. It’s Scott Steiner and Hercules Hernandez. Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt run out of the ring and head to the locker room before the tag champs can catch them. The biggest ovation of the night followed as Scott Steiner helps his brother up. The two embrace and then the Steiner brothers, JYD and Hercules embrace and it seems like the good guys have added another member as Rick seems on the outs with Hot Stuff Inc. Gordon Solie: So long from the Pelican State.

Again, I am jealous of your graphics. Cool titles. Feel free to add a title history page in our opening page. Really enjoying how you continue to develop your angles. This is very realistic and so fun to follow. A manager like Dark Journey brings the heat and a one-time interview can give you weeks of action. Looking forward to seeing who gets those tag belts.

CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING ASSOCIATION: EPISODE #6: April 15, 1988 The traditional CWA opening is played with some music being played as we see all the big stars of Memphis past hitting big moves. One exception is there is no Jerry “The King” Lawler in the intro. (As the show starts, with see Lance Russell, Dutch Mantell, Jeff Gaylord (Dutch’s bodyguard) and Rip Rogers. Lance Russell: Yeeellow Everybody. Lance Rusell alongside Dirty Dutch Mantell. By golly we’re ready to fire off another great week of championship wrestling. This is professional wrestling like it used to be and the way you like it. On today’s show, you are going to see such stars as The Dirty White Boy, “The Rebel” Dick Slater. Sweet Brown Sugar is back in Memphis and he’ll be taking on “Bad Boy” Barry Horowitz. “The Nature Boy” Buddy Landel is here and he will be taking on the youngster Too Cold Scorpio. And in our main event, Dutch Mantell: Alright Lance, this is where I come in. Listen up all you little munchkins. In our main event today, Jeff Gaylord, my friend is going to take that Shane Douglas and put an end to him and I’m going to be right there with him. I’m still a little under the weather but I am going to help coach Jeff to his biggest victory yet. Lance: Okay, we’ll see Dutch. We’ll see. Fans, this man to my right (pointing to Rip Rogers) says he is the best conditioned athlete in all of wrestling. Rip Rogers: First of all, I want all these Tennessee hillbillies to know that I’m not like them. I have never been fat. Never been disgustingly overweight. Never been married to someone who fell out of the ugly tree. I have always been beautiful. I have always been in great shape and I have always been just a cut above everybody else. I can out-jump Dominique Wilkins. I can hit more homeruns than Mark McGwire. I can do it all baby and I’m going to show you here right now what an athlete I am. I’m going to do 3000 squats on today’s show. I am going to do squats for the entire show! Lance: Well we will just have to keep an eye on that. We are ready to kick off our first match. Bell Time! Heeeeerrreeeeeee we go! Match #1 Dirty White Boy defeats Mike Jackson with the Bucksnort Blaster as Ron Wright was out scouting. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville When we come out of break, Tim Horner is at the podium and as the interview begins, we can hear Rip Rogers counting off his squats in the background. Tim Horner: Lance, as I’ve said before, it’s a pleasure to here in Memphis with all these great fans. Rip Rogers: Shut up Horner. This is my time. Nobody wants to hear from a hillbilly like you. Horner: (ignoring Rogers) As I was saying… Rogers: I told you Horner , Shut Up! Horner: (Stepping to Rogers) Hey, you got a problem! Rogers: I don’t have any problem at all. Look at me. I am here doing squats for the whole hour just because I can. I’m not like these fat, out-of-shape slobs that you relate so well with. Horner: So you are going to do squats for the whole hour? I don’t thinks so. (Horner reaches into his pocket) I got $500 here that says you can’t survive the entire hour without stopping. Rogers: $500! Well that’s pretty stupid! If you want to throw away your money go ahead. I’ll take that bet. Horner smirks at walks off set as Lance Russell gets us ready for our next match. Match #2 “The Rebel” Dick Slater defeats The Masked Mauler with a Swinging Neckbreaker Post-Match Interview: Lance: Congratulations on your first win since being back here in Memphis. I know you have that Southern Heavyweight Title on your mind which will be determined by a one-night tournament coming up real soon. Slater: Let me speak truthfully to all these good people of Memphis. I don’t think there’s a man alive that can beat me one on one. THERE IS NOT A MAN ALIVE THAT CAN BEAT ME! Just ask the Masked Mauler. Heck, you can even go ask Tommy “Wildfire” Rich. If he had an ounce of truth in him, which he doesn’t, he’d tell ya that I had him beat fair and square in the center of the Mid-South Coliseum just a few months back for the AWA title till he and his woman pulled some shenanigans. So, Jerry Jarret, just let me know where and when that Southern Heavyweight Tournament is and I will be walking out with the title. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville Before our next match, Too Cold Scorpio comes out and hypes up his match with “The Nature Boy” Buddy Landel. Too Cold Scorpio: Hey! What’s up-What’s Up! Too Cold Scorpio in the house! Buddy Landel… I’ve got something for ya and over and over and back again. Landel, you out here talking about you da man, well my eyes be buggin then cause I don’t see no Adams Apple Sucker! The Scorpio is set to fly! As Too Cold walks off… Dutch Mantel: Lance, that man needs a tutor in English. I have no idea what he said. Lance: I think he was talking about his match tonight against “The Nature Boy” Buddy Landel but I guess we’ll see a little later on. Let’s get back to the action. Next Jerry Jarret comes out with a big announcement! Jerry Jarrett: Fans, I know you have been hearing all the Southern Heavyweight Tournament. Well, I’m here to give you some specifics. Two weeks from Monday, on May 15th in the Mid-South Coliseum, we are going to hold a one night, 8-Man Single Elimination Tournament to crown the next champion. I will be back next week to let you know all the wrestlers to be involved! Dutch Mantell: It’s a nice idea Jerry but we would all understand if you just handed my the title. Lance: Oh, now you want to be a wrestler. I thought you were sick. Let’s go to the ring. Match #3: Sweet Brown Sugar defeats “Bad” Barry Horowitz with the Top Rope Missile Dropkick Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville Match #4 “The Nature Boy” Buddy Landel survives a tough bout with Too Cold Scorpio as Ron Wright rolled out in his wheelchair and seemed to hit Scorpio in the kneecap with some sort of metal object which helped to set up the Figure Four for the submission win. As soon as the match is over, Eddie Marlin comes to the podium. Eddie Marlin: Lance, I’ve just finished talking to Jerry Jarrett and we both agree that something has to be done about Ron Wright. Week after week, he comes out and interferes in our matches. Whether it is grabbing someone by the leg, handing some foreign object to a wrestler, distracting the ref, etc…, Ron Wright has become a real problem. Now, this is a difficult situation. Ron Wright does have a managerial license and is not subject to all the rules of our wrestlers and is allowed to manage his men. With that being said, he has not officially signed any wrestlers to a contract. As he tells us, he is still in the scouting phase. So, to put a stop to his nonsense, we are officially banning him from ringside for any matches that he does not have a wrestler under contract. As the fans cheer, Ron Wright comes rolling out. Ron Wright: I’m a hearing what your saying Mr. Marling but I can’t believe that you’d come down here and try and mistreat a poor, crippled man like myself. You know I’ve been one of the finest, most up-standing professional rasslers this area has ever seen. For decades, I’ve done this sport the Christian way and now, all I’m a doing is scouting the talent around here so that I can give my knowledge to some young disciple the way that Jesus did it back in the day. Eddie Marlin: Ron, you can stop right there. I'm not going to buy that garbage. You can feed that nonsense to others but not me. You forget I know you Ron. I’ve been around you for more than 30 years. You are the nastiest, most low-down wrestler ever stepped foot in a Tennessee ring. There are wrestlers all over the U.S. that have scars from Ron Wright to prove exactly what I’m saying. You’re not getting out of this one. You are, as of right now, barred from ringside. Ron Wright is trying to get a word in edge wise but Marlin doesn’t listen and walks off. Ron is in hot-wheeling pursuit but never caught up. Next, Lance asks Dutch and Jeff Gaylord about their main event match coming up in just a few minutes against “The Franchise” Shane Douglas. Dutch: Match? This will be like taking candy from a baby. Lance: And I’m sure you have taken lots of candy from babies. Time to head to the ring. Main Event Match “The Franchise” Shane Douglas vs Jeff Gaylord Dutch has decided to accompany Gaylord to the ring but this only seems to set Shane Douglas off even more and he rushes right after Mantell who quickly exits the ring. Douglas doesn’t mind and continues the chase. The problem was that as soon as he caught him, Gaylord caught him. We see a few blows traded by the two real wrestlers in the match and when Douglas knocks Gaylord back, he goes right back on the chase of Dirty Dutch. This goes on a few more times before Dutch rakes the eyes of the Franchise. Now we get about 3 straight minutes of in-ring action with Dutch taking every opportunity to double team Shane. Shane does a nice job of playing the face in peril before eventually regaining the momentum. Douglas hits the belly to belly suplex and it looks like it is all over but Dutch has other thoughts. He quickly enters the ring and stomps on The Franchise. Once Gaylord recovers enough, the 2-1 attack begins. It doesn’t matter as there is no stopping Douglas tonight. He shrugs Gaylord off like a mosquito and once again goes right after Dutch who decides to live and fight another day as he runs behind the curtain and most likely all the way to his car. Lance: (laughing) What a wild ending to today’s show. Dutch still runs pretty good for a man his age doesn’t he? Next, Tim Horner comes back out as Rip Rogers continues counting off his squats. 2951, 2952, 2953. Lance: Tim, I guess you underestimated Ri. It looks like he’s going to do it. Tim Horner: Not so fast Lance. He still isn’t done yet. Tim Horner closes in for a better look as Lance Russell focuses in on the fans and lets them know we are just about out of time. Rip Rogers: 2997, 2998, 2999, 3000! Lance Russell: I don’t believe it. Rip has done it. Sorry Tim. I guess you owe Rip the $500. Tim Horner: Nothing worse than a sore loser. Here you guy Rip but I want a chance to get my money back. How about you and I go one on one next week. Rip Rogers: Sounds like a deal to me. I get $500 and beat up a dumb, scrawny redneck at the same time. Lance Russell: There you have it folks. Next week it will be Rip Rogers and Tim Horner for $500. Until then, Lance Russell and Dutch Mantell saying bye bye every body.

So many good things happening in the NWA -The Crockett Cup and all its qualifying matches -Flair-Tully -Ross and Kabuki But for me.... I can't wait for Brody vs DeBeers!!!
-
Really enjoying all the big angles you have going but being the old school guy that I am, Dusty vs Harley is my favorite. No matter how many others get involved, I hope the big pay off is between these two. Also, Savage, Steamboat, Mr. T vs Freebirds is awesome!
-
The build to Champagne slam continues. Bad News-Carlos Colon continues to be of interests as the future of the AWA is at stake and I have no idea which way you go. I think I might be on the opposite side of LastStop on this one. I thought Idol was the real deal in both Georgia and Southeastern Championship Wrestling. He was to Alabama what Tommy Rich was to Georgia. I am all in on Camp Idol! This is what makes this hobby so fun! WOW... Midnight Express going to the Crockett Cup! I wonder if we could see both MNE vs MNE
-
Sorry for falling a little behind here but a family vacation has gotten in the way. Again, awesome job on the graphics as I love the newspaper article. You continue to prove that professional wrestling is all about the storytelling and not so much the names. You have turned Bill Ash and Pat Rose into one of the biggest feuds in our game. Really enjoying this small territory feel. Smart idea picking Arkansas as this is all very believable.

LAKEFRONT ARENA APRIL 1 The Grappler defeats Rocky Duke in his Mid-South debut with the Big Running Knee Lift. JYD defeats Wahoo McDaniel in a violent brawl with the Big Thump Powerslam. This turns out to be Wahoo’s last match in Mid-South. Mask vs Contract Match Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeats The Super Destroyer as he blocked a Superplex and shoved Super D off the top rope and then caught him with a diving shoulder block from the top rope. The problem came when the ref ordered Super D to take off his mask but Super D caught him with a big headbutt. When Hacksaw tried to get involved Super D caught him with a lowblow and he simply walked away with his mask still on. New Orleans Street Fight The Barbarians with Sheik Adnan Al Kassie vs “Captain Redneck” Dick Murdoch & Stan Hansen ended in a No Contest as Murdoch and Hansen attacked before the bell ever rang. While there are no real rules in a street fight, the ref said the match was not official as it never started. This didn’t seem to matter to anyone as the 4 men brawled and brawled until they were all a bloody mess. Winner is the Special Guest Referee for tonight's Mid-South Title Match Dr. Death defeats Vader with Woman in a power-move filled bout that saw each man do some serious damage to the other. In this war of attrition, Woman accidently hit Vader which distracted him enough to allow Dr. Death to catch Vader with the Oklahoma Stampede. Dr. Death will now go to the locker room to get his stripped shirt to ref the Mid-South Title Match between Lex Luger and Hacksaw Butch Reed. Mid-South Tag Team Title Match Scott Steiner & Hercules Hernandez © defeats Eddie Gilbert & Rick Steiner with Missy Hyatt after Steiner caught Eddie Gilbert with a face first slam from a Full Nelson slam. A few interesting notes here include that the Steiner brothers did not hold back at all against each other as they both rattled each other pretty good. Also, after the match, it appeared that Missy Hyatt was not pleased at Rick Steiner for the outcome of the bout. LOUISIANA TITLE MATCH Ted Dibiase with Sheik Adnan Al Kassie defeats Jake “The Snake” Roberts with a simple cover in a strange match that saw Jake attacked from behind by some huge savage-looking beast on his way to the ring. The beast manhandled Jake and tossed him all around the outside of the ring and left him in a heap. When Dibiase walked to the ring, the beastleft. Dibiase simply rolled Snake into the ring and demanded that the ref call for the bell. Dibiase then simple put his foot on Snake’s chest for the three count. Dibiase received a chorus of boos and dodged debris the entire walk back to the locker room. Mid-South Title Match with Dr. Death as Special Guest Referee Hacksaw Butch Reed defeats Lex Luger © with Woman by DQ as Hacksaw Butch Reed was attacked by a huge black man who came out of the first row of seats. Later he was identified as The Snowman, a tremendous wrestler most known for his time in the AWA. Reed was in control of about 75% of the match as Dr. Death refused to allow Woman or Luger to get away with any of their questionable tactics. The end saw Luger getting reprimanded for an open hand when this huge black man attacked Reed with a shattering head shot with a steel chair. Dr. Death turned around to see Reed out and Snowman daring anyone to come after him. Dr. Death called for the bell awarding Reed the match but Luger was happy that he left with his Mid-South title. Dr. Death goes to Reed to protect him and make sure the Snowman doesn’t inflict anymore damage to his buddy. Another huge card at Lakefront Arena is concluded and it leaves us with more questions than answers. Tune in next Saturday night on Superstation 17 as Gordon Solie and Ernie Ladd try to get to the bottom of all the chaos.

As for Lowblow's idea, I only have 3 people right now that I could add to that draft so I would pass. But I do admit that I like the idea and if anyone else is interested, I could set that up.

Mid-South Wrestling 1988: Episode #12: March 25, 1988 Gordon Solie: Thank you so very, very much indeed for turning into another episode of Mid-South Wrestling. I’m Gordon Solie and it is my pleasure to be coming to you today from the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana. Before we get to today’s show, I need to bring you back to the end of our show last week. VTR of locker rooms emptying to keep Super Destroyer and Hacksaw Jim Duggan apart. Gordon Solie: Oh BRO-ther…. As you just saw, we narrowly escaped a real donnybrook there but these two are going to meet in Lakefront Arena on April 1st, but more on the later. In fact, we will give a complete rundown of that huge event later in the show. I’ve had a chance to look at the entire card and it’s not something to be missed. As for tonight’s show, we have a great hour instore for you. We’ll see Hacksaw Jim Duggan take on the Nightmare. The Barbarians are looking to continue their winning ways against Shane Jackson and Rocky Duke. And fans… listen to this main event… It will be Jake “The Snake” Roberts squaring off against Million Dollar Corporation member Mike Rotundo. MATCH #1 Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeats The Nightmare with a football tackle. After the bout, Ernie Ladd and Hacksaw Jim Duggan are with Gordon Solie. Gordon Solie: Well Hacksaw, last week you and Super Destroyer nearly came to blows. He’s talking about some unfinished business between you and him. Hacksaw Duggan: Gordon… To tell you the truth, I’ve no idea what Super Destroyer is talking about. I don’t even know who he is. He comes out here week after week hiding behind that mask. If I knew who he was, I could tell you the problem between the two of us. All I know is he cost me a fair shot at Rick Steiner and that Mid-South television title. Ernie Ladd: Hacksaw, I agree with you on this and that is why I’ve added two stipulations to your match with Super Destroyer at Lakefront Arena. If you win, Super Destroyer must unmask and reveal who he is. (Hacksaw shakes his head in approval). Now, we all know how much his mask means to him so we need to balance out the importance of this match. So, if you Mr. Duggan, lose to Super Destroyer, you will not be able to wrestle in the state of Louisiana for the remainder of 1988. (Suddenly Duggan seems not as happy as he was a minute ago) Hacksaw seems to ponder for a moment and then shakes his head with approval and responds, “Deal” before walking off. Gordon Solie: This week’s spectacular at Lakefront Arena just gets better and better. Ernie Ladd: That’s not all. Gordon, last week I said that the Mid-South Title Match between Lex Luger and Butch Reed needed a special referee to keep order. I truly struggled to find a person who was both impartial and able to control these two super athletes. So, let the victory go the spoils. Dr. Death and Vader will be facing each other earlier in the night. I have decided that the winner of that match will be the special referee for the title match. Gordon Solie: Very interesting. Very interesting indeed. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR LAKEFRONT ARENA When we come out of break, Woman, Lex Luger, and Vader are at the podium. Gordon Solie: Woman, I’m sure you ‘re out here to respond to what Mr. Ladd just announced. What are your thoughts about the fact that Vader’s match with Dr. Death at the Lakefront Arena now determines the special guest referee for Lex’s title match with Hacksaw Butch Reed. Woman: To tell you the truth, it doesn’t matter. Lex Luger is The Total Package. Lex Luger is the Champion for a reason. Hacksaw Butch Reed has been bouncing around the country looking for work. While I have complete confidence that Vader will defeat Dr. Death… to me it is irrelevant who the referee is. Also, do you think I would allow any nonsense from Dr. Death whether he is the referee or not. One last thing Gordon. Do I look like a Woman who doesn’t have a plan? Gordon Solie: Fair enough. Now last week, Hacksaw Butch Reed made a comment about how even you know that he is a better man that Lex Luger and he referenced Chicago. Can you elaborate on that? Woman: No. Woman and her crew walk away as Gordon seems puzzled by her response and then gets us back to the ring for our next match. MATCH #2 The Barbarians with Sheik Adnan Al Kassie defeat Shane Jackson and Rocky Duke with a face-first suplex from Nord. After the match, Ted Dibiase (with his head wrapped in a bandage and a neck brace on) joins Sheik Adnan Al Kassie and Mike Rotundo at the podium. Gordon Solie: Mr. Dibiase, I see that you are here tonight which means that you are going to be evaluated by Mid-South doctors. If you are cleared to wrestle, you will face Jake “The Snake” Roberts for the Louisiana Heavyweight Title on the line. If you are not cleared, you will be stripped of your title and the belt will be handed to one Mr. Roberts. Ted Dibiase: Hold on a minute Gordon. As we all know, I am a very wealthy man and with my money, I have all of the best people working for me. That includes the best lawyer money can buy. As you can see by this letter, that Rufus Buckley, the greatest lawyer in the South, has filed a lawsuit in the Louisiana State Circuit Court in the amount of $1,000,000 against Ernie Ladd and Mid-South Wrestling for forcing an injured wrestler to compete in a match. Gordon, it doesn’t take a genius to see that I have a severe concussion and have damaged my neck. I think Ernie Ladd had better rethink his demands. Suddenly, Ernie Ladd comes back out. Ernie Ladd: Dibiase… A million dollar lawsuit? Now you have my attention. Maybe you are truly injured. Maybe we should delay your match against Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Ted Dibiase: (Smirking) Ladd… you better start to realize who runs Mid-South Wrestling and what I’m capable of. Ernie Ladd: Dibiase… um Mr. Diabiase… I do realize what you are capable of and that is why we’ve had a provite investigator following you all week. Dibiase suddenly has a confused look. Ladd pulls out pictures of Dibiase driving around a neighborhood without a neck brace or bandages. Other pictures show Dibiase working out in a weight room and finally, we see Dibiase with Sheik holding the neck brace and laughing like they have just come up with the biggest hoax in history. Ernie Ladd: Dibiase… how low will you stoop. My guess is it includes forging a fake legal document from Rufus Buckley. Now if you want to be the Louisiana Heavyweight Champion after April 1st, find a legal way to defeat Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Ladd walks off as Dibiase, Sheik and Rotundo look dumbfounded. Gordon Solie can only shake his head in disgust at what Dibiase just tried to get away with. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR LAKEFRONT ARENA After the break, Hacksaw Butch Reed and Dr. Death are at the podium. Gordon Solie: I guess that the next event at the Lakefront Arena has just gotten even more interesting. Dr. Death: You got that right Gordon. I would like to thank Mr. Ladd for finally coming up with a real way of stopping all the nonsense from Woman and her gang of cheaters … and that something is me! Gordon Solie: In order for that to happen Dr. Death, you’ll first need to defeat Vader. Dr. Death: That won’t be a problem. I beat him here on TV just a few weeks ago and now at Lakefront Arena, I’ll do it again. Once I get that referee shirt on, I can guarantee you that nothing will stop me from making sure Hacksaw gets a fair Mid-South Title Match. Hacksaw Butch Reed: Lex Luger… there is only one man to hold the NWA, UWF and Mid-South Title for more that 250 days… and that’s me. The only reason I’m not still champion is because you cheated. Now, after a short absence, I’m here to take back what is rightfully mine. I would also like to thank Ernie Ladd and Dr. Death in advance for making sure that Woman doesn’t get a chance to stick her nose where it don’t belong. Gordon… I heard you ask here about Chicago!! I guess what happens in Chicago stays in Chicago if you know what I mean. Gordon Solie: Indeed Hacksaw, Indeed. Let’s get back to the ring. Match #3 Mid-South TV Title Match Rick Steiner © with Missy Hyatt defeats Sweet Brown Sugar in impressive fashion with the German Suplex After the bout, Gordon Solie again tries to get a word with Rick Steiner about both his time as Mid-South TV champ and about his upcoming tag team title match against his brother and Hercules Hernandez but Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt once again cut him off. Eddie seems frustrated at all the time Rick is devoting to this TV title and that he better be ready for the tag match in Lakefront Arena. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR LAKEFRONT ARENA When we come out of break, Jake Roberts and Paul Ellering. Jake Roberts: Dibiase… I think you tried to sue the wrong person. Your lawsuit should not be with Mid-South Wrestling. It should be with your doctor. You say my DDT on the concrete floor caused a concussion. You say that my DDT on the concrete floor caused a severe neck injury. Neither of these are truly your medical issues. What you have is Ophidiophobia. Oh yes… Ophidiophobia… a fear of Snakes! Be careful, I heard the Snake in Lakefront Arena on April 1st is deadly!! Paul Ellering: Dibiase… I will admit that my time in this sport has been spent with some of the greatest of all time. The Road Warriors… Animal and Hawk… truly devastating. Jake Roberts… one of the most lethal men in all of wrestling… and Ted Dibiase… yes, Ted, we have spent a lot of time together of late and you are one of the greatest of all time…. The greatest at trying to buy your way out of a fight. You’ve had Mike Rotundo attack Jake. You’ve had Nord attack Jake. You’ve had Konga attack Jake. You’ve even had that fat slob of a manager, Sheik Adnan Al Kassie attack Jake. Now when you have run out of minions to do your work, you try this scheme you pulled tonight. You truly are great Mr. Dibiase. A great big fraud! Come April 1st when your head hits that concrete floor for a 3rd time, you will be the greatest loser! When Gordon reminds Snake not to overlook his match tonight against Mike Rotundo, Jake simply says that he is always ready to strike. Then he walks away with that wicked smile of his. Next, Dick Murdoch and JYD join Gordon Solie and they are once again fuming about the Barbarians and their attack last week on JYD. Murdoch, continuous on his rant like Gordon isn’t even there and he vows to bring an unstoppable force with his to Lakefront Arena and make sure the Barbarians pay for what they did to his friend JYD. Again, when asked by Gordon who his mystery partner for that bout is, Murdoch says that he hoped that he would have been here tonight but that everyone is just going to have to wait for New Orleans. Match #5: Main Event Jake “The Snake” Roberts with Paul Ellering vs Mike Rotundo with Precious Paul Ellering Unfortunately for Jake, this match was all just a big set up to try and make sure that he doesn’t make it to Lakefront Arena. After just a couple of minutes, The Barbarians and an unbandaged, un-neck-braced- Ted Dibiase hit the ring and are all over Snake. With the numbers just too much, Snake soon sees himself on the bottom. Dibiase locks in the Figure 4 and Konga is climbing to the top rope. Gordon warns that if Konga crashes down on Snake he could very well break his legs. WHAM… Murdoch shoves Konga off the top rope. JYD hits the ring and he is brawling with Rotundo but the numbers are still are problem for the fan favorites. There is a roar from the crowd… Gordon Solie: Fans… look at this… It’s the Bad Man for Borger, Texas. Stan Hansen is here! Big Lariat on Nord and he goes flying from the ring. Lariat to Sheik and there he goes. Powerslam by JYD on Konga. Konga rolls away. What a turn of events. Murdoch, JYD, Snake and yes, Stan Hansen have Ted Dibiase surrounded. As they close in on Dibiase, Sheik is able to grab his legs and drag him to safety. The heels are left outside the ring with the fan favorites daring them to fight. Gordon Solie: Fans… what an hour this has been. I can also assure you that the matches are better in person. If you are anywhere near New Orleans on April 1st head to Lakefront Arena for a tremendous night of wrestling. So long from the Pelican State. LAKEFRONT ARENA APRIL 1 The Grappler vs Rocky King (MASK VS CONTRACT MATCH) Super Destroyer vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan: Super D’s mask is on the line New Orleans Street Fight The Barbarians with Sheik Adnan Al Kassie vs “Captain Redneck” Dick Murdoch & Stan Hansen Winner is the Special Guest Referee for tonight's Mid-South Title Match Vader with Woman vs Dr. Death Steve Williams Mid-South Tag Team Title Match Scott Steiner & Hercules Hernandez © vs Eddie Gilbert & Rick Steiner with Missy Hyatt Louisiana Title Match Ted Dibiase with Sheik Adnan Al Kassie vs Jake “The Snake” Roberts Mid South Title Match with Dr. Death as Special Guest Referee Lex Luger © with Woman vs Hacksaw Butch Reed

Mid-South adds Ray Candy
-
Caveman Broda is a good find. He is all yours.
-
I am fine with Tony Divito as long as everyone else is.
-
I have added Johnny Weiss and Prissie Purcell to your roster. I cannot add Raul Guzman and Tony DeVito. Both wrestlingdata.com and cagematch.com have Guzman not wrestling more than 10 matches in any year after 1979 so by our rules he would be retired. Also, both websites have no evidence of Tony Divito . They do list Tony DeVito starting in 1992. If you can find any evidence that Raul Guzman was still active for more than 10 matches a year in 88, I can add him to your roster. Also, same goes for Divito or DeVito. Any evidence that he was active in 88 will allow him to be added to your roster.

Continental Wrestling Association: Episode #5: April 8, 1988 The traditional CWA opening is played with some music being played as we see all the big stars of Memphis past hitting big moves. One exception is there is no Jerry “The King” Lawler in the intro. Lance Russell: Yeellow everybody. Welcome to another action-packed, exciting hour of Championship Wrestling, professional wrestling like it used to be and the way you like it. I’m Lance Russell what a show we have for you this week. Jeff Jarrett, Jerry’s son is set to make his CWA debut. Also returning to the Memphis area is “The Rebel” Dick Slater. We will also see Rip Rogers taking on Brad Armstrong’s younger brother, Scott Armstrong. And in the main event, it will be The Shaska Whatley taking on “The Fab One” Steve Keirn. And if that’s not enough the Dutchman, Dutch Mantell will be in action. Dutch Mantell: First of all, a big treat for all the fans today. Dirty Dutch will be wrestling in the flesh. Don't be surprised if all the wrestlers in the back come out of the dressing room just to watch exactly how a pro does it. And how am I not in the main event? I just don’t get it. Lance: OK Dutch. That's just about enough of you patting yourself on the back. We're just about ready to get to the action fans. Bell Time! Heeeerrreeee we go! Match #1 Jeff Jarrett defeats “Bad Boy” Larry Cheatum by submission with the Figure Four Even though young 21 year old Jarrett is new to the area, with Jerry Jarrett being a fixture in Memphis, it’s like the fans have known him forever. Jeff came out to the ring, high-fiving the fans and playing “The South’s Gonna Do It Again” by The Charlie Daniels Band. Throughout the match, Cheatum tried to use the rough stuff against the somewhat slender Jarrett but JJ always seemed to be one step ahead of his opponent and soon began a ground attack; wearing down the legs. Lance kept pointing out that for a youngster, Jarrett had great skills and that he was going to be someone to reckon with here in Memphis. Lance continued by pointing out that Jarrett seemed to have paid attention all those years watching “Daddy” in the ring. Dutch simple said if he learned all his father knew, it would take about an hour. After the match, Jarrett comes to the podium where Lance congratulates him on his first win here in Memphis. Jeff Jarrett: Thank you Lance. Daddy and I thought it would be a good idea for me to get some experience outside of the area before coming home and I just want to say thank you to all me friends out on the West Coast who helped me develop. I’ve been around the ring my whole life and been studying from my Daddy for years. I hope to keep on learning and be the best I can be. There’s a lot of great wrestlers here and I hope that someday I can be one of them. Dutch: Son, I’ve known your father a long time and if you ever need some guidance, please call me first. Lance: Come on man. Jeff, don’t pay him an ounce of mind. Jeff Jarrett: Mantell, my Daddy told me to stay away from you. In fact, he said that if I needed anything, not to hesitate and go right to the Franchise Shane Douglas who I’ve gotten to know out there on the west coast. As JJ walks off, Lance: Well Dutch, I guess your reputation proceeds you. Dutch: Why that little ingrate. Commercials + promos for Louisville, Evansville, Nashville and Memphis. When we come back from break, we see Shaska Whatley in a pre-recorded interview. Shaska: Steve Keirn are you ready for the main event you jive turkey. You know who you’re facing in the ring today… in the main event? That’s right baby. You got me, Shaska Whatley. I got myself quite a reputation and tonight, I’m going to teach you a lesson. I hear they call you “The Fab One.” Well after tonight Keirn, you won’t be looking too fabulous. Back live, we see Lance standing next to Dutch Mantell with his bodyguard, Jeff Gaylord, standing behind Dutch wearing his black cowboy hat. Lance: You know Dutch, last week we saw a tremendous match between the Lightening Express and “The Big Russian” Boris Zhukov and Shaska Whatley. That match was happening with Soldat Ustinov back in Russia on official business. Well that proved to be untrue. Let’s take a look back at last week’s main event to see one of the worst brawls in Ozark Mountain Wrestling. The Lightening Express (Horner & Armstrong) vs Boris Zhukov & Shaska Whatley In the end, the match is going bonzo-gonzo with all 4 men in the ring. Zhukov has Horner locked in a bearhug while the ref is trying to break up Shaska and Armstrong. From the stands comes a big man with a sweatshirt and hood on. Nobody is sure who it is. WHAM… with his boot, the attacker knocks out Brad Armstrong. As the hooded man leaves the ring and jumps to the floor, he takes off the hood to reveal that he is Soldat Ustinov. Shaska covers Armstrong just as the ref turns around and gets the easy victory. At the podium… Boris Zhukov: Except for Shaska here, all Americans are dumb. So very dumb. It took two minutes for me to come up with a plan to trick each and everyone of you stupid, very stupid people here in America. WHAM… The Lightening Express attack and the brawl is on…. The problem was that it was 3 against 2 in favor of the bad guys. This puts Horner and Armstrong on the bottom of the pile after their initial surprise attack. WHAM…”Fab One” Steve Keirn rushes in to even the sides. This brawl is all over the Barn. In the ring! At the podium! In the stands! At the concession stand! There is no stopping this one! After the video tape replay, we see The Lightening Express in a pre-recorded interview. Brad Armstrong: Boris Zhukov… Soldat Ustinov … Shaska Whatley…. Everyone knows you cheated us. Tim and myself want those two ugly Russians back in the ring. Tim Horner: We’re not the type of guys to come out here crying about the past. That’s not what’s bothering us. It’s the fact that they had to cheat to win. We know in a fair match, the Lightening Express will come out on top of those two cowards 9 out of 10 times. Brad Armstrong: And Whatley? We aint forgot about you but we know that Steve Keirn is going to take care of business on the main event in just a little while. But Shaska… if there’s anything left of you after tonight, we’ll be more than happy to finish you off. Back Live Lance: Folks, I just wanted to let you know that the interview with the Lightening Express had to be done by tape because Brad Armstrong will be out of the area for a few weeks on a special wrestling tour of Japan where he will be taking on all the wrestlers in Asia. Now, I would like to bring out the general manager of Championship Wrestling, Eddie Marlin to comment on the video tape we all just watched. Eddie Marlin: Thanks Lance. I did watch that tape and I know to the fans, it was really entertaining. Tempers flared, people fought tooth and nail but all six men involved are professionals and we can't have that. They may mess up a TV camera. Some wrestling fans might get hurt as a result of a brawl like that. I'm going to have to fine every wrestler involved $500. Next, I think the Lightning Express we're unfairly tricked by Boris Zhukov. He out and out lied that Soldat Ustinov was back in Russia. So, when Brad Armstrong returns from Japan, I'm granting them a six-man tag match against the Russians and Shaska Whatley. Lightning Express you may choose any person you want to be your teammate and fans this match is going to take place on our big return to the Mid-South Coliseum on Monday night May 15thth. One last thing, Dutch Mantell, “The Franchise” Shane Douglas really wants to get a piece of you, but I told him as long as you're here announcing he has to leave you alone. He can't interfere with any of our TV matches or your job but if you ever get in that ring alone, I can’t help you. So, you better be ready. Lance: alright fans before we go to the ring to see rip Rogers and action let's hear a few words from a man who's been in the center of a lot of controversy lately; Mr. Ron Wright Ron Wright: rassling fans I'd like to share something with you. It's one of the thousands of letters I've gotten since coming to the CWA. It says dear Mr. Wright, I've been a fan of yours for a long, long time. You’ve always been one of the greatest and most popular wrestlers ever. I also love you great sportsmanship even when the other guys were breaking all the rules to try and maim and cripple you. Please take this $5 to help get you started on your way to recovery. I hope other fans send letters too with $5 of their own to speed up this process. I also hope you find a good Christian wrestler soon to help you on your way. Sincerely Cal Johnson. Fans, you don't know what this means to me to see all these kind supporters trying to help out an old crippled man like me. I really hope to sign some very talented Christian wrestlers real soon so I can have those surgeries on my knees and hips and get up out of this chair and walk again. MATCH #2 “The Hustler” Rip Rogers defeated Trent Knight with the Superplex (Ripperplex) Prior to the match, Rogers continuous his antagonizing of the fans as he took the house mic and demanded that they shut off his music, “You Give Love A Bad Name.” Rip Rogers: What I would like to have right now is for all you fat and out of shape sorry excuses for men who are sitting here reliving your glory days, to be quiet so I can scan the audience for one good looking woman to help me remove my vest. Most of the audience is booing but some ladies seem eager to come help Rip Rogers with the vest. Rogers circles the ring, while scanning the audience for a helper. Rip Rogers: Ummm, I can’t believe it. Not one good looking woman in the entire audience. I guess ugly just keeps breeding ugly in this part of the county. I guess it will be just another week of me taking of my own vest. From here, Rogers attacks Knight before the bell and just breaks ever rule he could before the Ripperplex. Commercials + promos for Louisville, Evansville, Nashville and Memphis. Lance: Fans, with me right now is an outstanding wrestler… He’s been all over the world, wrestled the top wrestlers everywhere he goes and usually comes out on top … He’s no stranger to Memphis as he was recently a member of the AWA…none other than “The Rebel” Dick Slater. Slater gets a nice ovation from the studio crowd…. Dick Slater: First, I would like to say how excited I am to be back in the area and how excited I am to be in the CWA. This feels a bit like a homecoming to me. But make no mistake about it. I’m here for that Southern Heavyweight title. I know that’s there’s going to be a tournament coming up real soon and I plan on leaving that night as your champion. I have won titles all over the country. I’ve been the Florida heavyweight champion… the Southwest Heavyweight Champion, the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion and now I’ve set my sights on the Southern Heavyweight title. Last time I was in Memphis, that low life Tommy Rich cheated me out of the AWA title and now I plan on being Southern Heavyweight Champion. As Slater leaves the set, we see Dutch Mantell shaking his head like something isn’t right. His “bodyguard” Jeff Gaylord also seems concerned. Lance: Dutch, what’s wrong? Dutch: I don’t know. I just don’t feel right. I got a headache… the chills. Just don’t feel right. (Dutch starts coughing) Lance: Well Dutch, you might not feel so good, but I bet these pre-recorded comments from “The Franchise” might make you feel even worse. (Dutch moans) Shane Douglas: Dutch Mantell… since day one of Jerry Jarrett bringing wrestling back to Memphis, you’ve been doing two things. First… you’ve been running your mouth about how good you are and second, you’ve been running from The Franchise. I’ve been told from Eddie Marlin that if I come out there are grab you from behind that desk and just pummel you like you deserve that I will get suspended. I’ve also been told that anytime you put one foot in that ring, your MINE! I can’t wait for that day. I’m going to break you in half and shut you up once and for all. As we come back to live tv, Dutch is really coughing now and appears to be sweating. Lance: What in the world Dutch? Dutch: I’m sick. It came on all of a sudden like. Lance: You supposed to wrestling in just a few minutes. Dutch: Nah. I don’t think so. I think I got the swine flu or something. Dutch tells Jeff Gaylord to get in the ring and wrestle his match for him. Gaylord jumps to it, eager to please his boss. Match #3 Jeff Gaylord defeats Brain Smith with the Powerslam. As soon as the match is over, “The Franchise” Shane Douglas hits the ring with a microphone in hand. Shane Douglas: Jeff Gaylord… I aint got no problem with you. I believe Dutch Mantell is using you and making a fool out of you. Dutch Mantell… if you have one ounce of guts in your body, you’d come up here to the ring and we could settle this once and for all. Dutch Mantell: Wait a minute now. I’m sick. I’ve got a fever. Wham… From behind Gaylord attacks Shane Douglas and suddenly, Dutch seems healthier as he is screaming encouragement for his bodyguard. We get a minute of a good brawl before Lance leads us into commercial break. Commercials + promos for Louisville, Evansville, Nashville and Memphis. Main Event Match “The Fab One” Steve Keirn vs Shaska Whatley Whatley comes to the ring first with very fitting entrance music as “Bad” from Michael Jackson is blaring. Whately is in the face of as many fans as he could and is drawing some major heat. The boos change to cheers as soon as the first chord of “Go Fabs Go” is heard and Steve Keirn makes his way to the ring. As for the match, after about the 5 minutes of back-and-forth action, Boris Zhukof and Soldat Ustinov make their way to ringside. Lance says this doesn’t look good for Keirn and reminds us that Brad Armstrong was currently wrestling in Japan. It doesn’t take long as Boris caught Keirn with a big elbow in the back after an Irish Whip by Shaska. The more Lance talked about the interference, the more Dutch told him he was making things up. We go another 3 minutes of Keirn playing the “face in peril” before he mounts a great comeback. In the end, Keirn caught Whatley with a top rope dropkick and went for the cover. The two big Russians entered the ring and attacked Keirn causing the automatic DQ. The problem was that it was now 3-1 and Keirn was in trouble. Soon Dick Slater, Jeff Jarrett and Tim Horner hit the ring chasing The Russians and Whatley back to the locker room Before we head off the air, Lance lets us know that next week’s main event will be “The Franchise” Shane Douglas taking on Jeff Gaylord. Lance: Fans, That’s all we got time for today. Until next week, Lance Russell and Dutch Mantell saying bye bye everybody

This week, I tried something new. I tried to follow the character show first and then read the the written part. I must give you some big props as it was spot on. Awesome job. Triumph was a great show with some big surprises. Nice job putting Benoit and Konnan together. While they are an interesting pairing, I think they both need some help getting over and this should help. Add in a feud with the Conquistadores, and I think 88 has become more promising for both. I have had the Roar Warriors a few times during my years in this hobby and I always found them hard to write for. I just found it hard to find a team that it would be believable that they would fall to. I think you have done that. Also, this could go back and forth for a while if you wanted. Almost like Lawler winning and losing the Southern Title a million times. I think a Spivey heel turn is just what this needed. It allows the angle to continue and keeps everyone looking strong. Freebirds... Steamboat.... Savage.... Mr. T..... Must see TV

SO many cool things in this week's shows. I love the jobber names you come up with. Nice of Ricky Bobby to make an appearance. I guess he found out that if your not first, your last! I hope Medical Bill has a good doctor. Really enjoying the Garvin feud. Every time I look over the rosters of all of us, I keep seeing how many times both Ron and Jimmy have moved from one place to another. I think that is because we all enjoy using them. Good work here. Also really can't wait to see where you go with Brody-DeBeers. Really big angle for which ever direction you want to go.
