  2. Welcome to the game!
  3. Free agency is now reopened
  4. MID-SOUTH WRESTLING: MARCH 6, 1988: EPISODE #9 LAKEFRONT ARENA: NEW ORLEANS Super Destroyer defeats Irish Scott McGhee with a Superplex. Lanny Poffo defeats JT Southern with a Diving Top Rope Splash. Dick Murdoch defeats Mike Rotundo with Skandar Akbar by DQ but the Barbarians attacked Murdoch after he connected with the Brainbuster. Murdoch had a rough time making it back to the locker room after the Pearl Harbor attack. Junkyard Dog defeats Eddie Gilbert with Missy Hyatt after he connected with a Big Thump. Missy Hyatt and Eddie Gilbert tried every trick in the book, but the Dog could not be denied. It even looked like Missy was calling to the back for reinforcements but Rick Steiner must have been preparing for his TV title match against Hacksaw Jim Duggan. MID-SOUTH TELEVISION TITLE MATCH Rick Steiner with Missy Hyatt defeats Hacksaw Duggan © with a German Suplex in a back-and-forth match that saw big power move after big power move. Interesting thing here was that Missy Hyatt was content to just watch and shout encouragement but she pulled none of the nonsense that she tried early when Gilbert was facing JYD. When Steiner was handed the belt, she did walk smugly around the ring like it was her doing but Eddie remained absent from the celebration. MID-SOUTH TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Scott Steiner & Hercules Hernandez © defeat Wahoo McDaniel & Ivan Koloff in a match that really showed the power and teamwork of the champions. Wahoo and Ivan were quick to turn this one into a brawl and while both teams had a little blood by the end, the tag champs were never really in danger of losing their belts. The end came with a running clothesline followed up by a backbreaker on Koloff by Hercules. SEMI-MAIN EVENT- LOUISIANA TITLE MATCH Ted Dibiase with Sheik Adnan Al Kassie defeated Jake Roberts with Precious Paul by count out after Jake “The Snake” Roberts once again connected with a DDT on Dibiase on the concrete floor. Roberts then rolled Dibiase back into the ring and it looked like he was going to cover him for the easy title win. Problem was the Sheik rushed over and grabbed his legs from under the ring and held on for all he was worth as the ref finished the 10-count. MAIN EVENT: STEEL CAGE MATCH Steve “Dr. Death” Williams & Hacksaw Butch Reed vs defeated Lex Luger & Vader with Woman in a brawl to end all brawls. The finish saw Hacksaw Reed come of the top of the cage with a football tackle on Luger while Dr. Death and Vader were brawling on the other side of the ring. As the three count was completed, you could almost see a glimpse of concern on Dr. Death that he might not be the man to take Luger’s title when all is said and done.
  5. Thanks. I will fix that now. Anything else you see, please let me know.
  6. FREE AGENCY IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR NEW WRITER TO SELECT ROSTER.
  7. Another great week for the NWA. Just a few observations... First... You have the best jobbers and nicknames in the game! Very creative. Next... I love how the writers of Dawn of War have all gotten the most out of the Exotic Adrian Street. Nice win here over Robert Gibson even though he had a little help. Next... I am so into the Bill Kazmaier and Black Bart feud. I recently watched some shoot interviews with Black Bart and he is awesome. A real down to Earth guy. Also very underrated. I think he was like the NWA National Champ at one point. Next... Robert Fuller is quickly becoming a top dog in the NWA! Lastly... SuperBrawl is looking good!
  8. I am fine with both. Brisco would not take a roster spot as a non-wrestler/non-manager. With the possibility of Mr. T getting into the ring, he would use a roster spot. I will add them to your roster now.
  9. Both would be considered retired by our rules as they did not wrestle more than 10 matches in the current year or any other future year according to wrestlingdata.com. Both can be used for a quick angle or guest appearance as a wrestler but it should not last for more than a month or so and include just a few matches. They could also take over some other role in the company such as an announcer.
  10. CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING ASSOCIATION: EPISODE #2: March 11 The traditional CWA opening is played with some music being played as we see all the big stars of Memphis past hitting big moves. One exception is there is no Jerry “The King” Lawler in the intro. Lance Russell: Yeeellow Everybody. Lance Rusell alongside Dirty Dutch Mantell. By golly we’re ready to fire off another great week of championship wrestling. This is professional wrestling like it used to be and the way you like it. On today’s show, you are going to see such stars as The Hustler Rip Rogers, The Fab One, Steve Kerin, Bret Wayne Sawyer and my partner Dutch Mantel will be in action. We’ll also be talking to the notorious Ron Wright. Jerry Jarrett will be here and in our main event, you will see “the Lightening Express taking on the two big Russians, Boris Zhukov and Soldat Ustinov. Dutch Mantel: Well, first off let me tell you it’s going to be great getting back in the ring tonight and show some of these so called up-and-comers what a real wrestler can do. And as for “The so-called Franchise,” Shane Douglas, he better be careful what he says around here, or he might find himself on the wrong side of a bull rope. And in that main event, I can’t wait to see what Boris and his cousin have instore for those two whinnying babies, Armstrong and Horner. Lance: I see we are just going to have to agree to disagree tonight Dutch. We’re ready to kick off our first match. Bell Time! Heeeeerrreeeeeee we go! Match #1: “Hustler” Rip Rogers” vs Couger Jay Jay is already in the ring when the speakers begin blaring “You Give Love A Bad Name” and Rogers makes his way to the ring wearing his tights and pink vest. He quickly grabs the microphone. Rip Rogers: Shut my music…. What I would like to have right now is for all you fat and out-of- shape, sorry excuses for men to sit there and be quiet while I give all the woman of Memphis the thrill of a lifetime as I take this vest off and show my perfectly fit, muscular body. Most of the fans start to boo but you can see many women smiling with excitement. As soon as his vest is off, Rogers attacks before the bell. He’s getting some major heat from the crowd as he makes quick work of Cougar Jay and wins by submission with the sleeper! Before “waking” up his opponent, Rogers struts around the ring posing for his “fans.” All through the match, Ron Wright was there in his wheelchair scouting Rogers and seemed to like what he saw. Lance: What a piece work Rip Rogers is. Dutch: You can say that again. It’s like he is chiseled out of stone. Lance: Not exactly what I meant. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville After the break, Boris Zhukov and Soldat Ustinov come to the podium… Boris Zhukov: Last week Tm Horner, it was the end of your career but your stupid tag team partner, Brad Armstrong, had to come and stick his nose where it don’t belong. But you see … this week we are going to finish it. With my cousin Soldat, you are going to see that we are going to rip you apart. Lightening Express, tonight, if you dare come to the ring, it will be the end of your career. Soldat simply stares at the camera and makes a most muscular pose a la Nikita and sticks his tongue out at the camera. Next, we get a video promo of “The Rebel” Dick Slater who Lance lets us know has just been signed to a contract and will be here real soon. Dirty Dutch doesn’t seem so excited and wonders if Jerry Jarrett should be in charge here as he seems to be scrapping the bottom on the barrel looking for talent. Lance: Come on Dutch. You know as well as I do how good Dick Slater is. Let’s get back to the action as one of the all-time Memphis greats is in the ring. MATCH #2 “The Fab One” Steve Keirn defeats Larry Cheatum with the Diving Senton Keirn in his post-match interview shakes hands with Lance and ignores Dutch. He states his excitement about being back in Memphis and how he’s enjoying wrestling in front of all these great fans. He reminds everyone that soon there will be a tournament to crown the next Southern Heavyweight Champion and that he would love it to be him. When Keirn leaves, Dutch says the only good thing about Keirn being back is that he comes alone and that there is only one “Not-So-Fab-One.” Next Commissioner Jerry Jarrett comes out. Jarrett: Fans, I just want to give you a few updates. As we said last week, we are going to return professional wrestling to the way it used to be and how you like it. There will be no foreign objects used in any of our matches. There will be no touching of our referees. Tossing an opponent over the top rope will not be tolerated. Anyone that breaks any of these rules will be heavily fined and possible suspended. I also want you to know that we are in negotiations with some of the biggest stars in professional wrestling and I will not stop trying to give you fans the best wrestling action. Lance: Thanks Jerry. Fans, nest we have a man that’s bringing a lot of excitement to Championship Wrestling… “The Franchise” Shane Douglas. Shane Douglas: You know Lance, Dutch Mantel’s been out here running his mouth. Well it’s easy to sit behind a desk and criticize somebody Dutch. I ‘m nearly 250 pounds. Born and breed to be a professional wrestler my entire life. If you got a problem with me, I promise I won’t be hard to find. Anytime, anywhere Dutch. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville MATCH #3 “Dirty” Dutch Mantell vs Bret Wayne Sawyer After a back and forth match, we see Sawyer regaining the momentum. He whipped Dutch into the corner where Dutch grabbed his bull rope and thrusted it into the throat of Sawyer and then began whipping him with it. The fans erupted as Shane Douglas hit the ring and connected with a few blows before Dirty Dutch rolled out of the ring and header for the exit. On his way he grabbed the microphone from Jim Ross. Dutch: Shane Douglas, this bull rope can stop a 2000-pound bull. Keep messin in my business and your gonna find out what it can do to you. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville Eddie Marlin: Lance, I’m sorry to interrupt but this will only take a minute. I’m out here to talk about one Dutch Mantell and that bull whip he threatened to use against Shane Douglas. This is a bit of a gray line. He brought that bull rope out as part of his attire, so it is not clear if that is a foreign object or not. I’m going to give him a pass today but only by the skin of his nose. If he ever uses it again, he would be in violation of the “No Foreign Object” clause and would be immediately fined. Now, speaking of Dutch Mantel, he seems to have a problem with “The Franchise” Shane Douglas. Here in Memphis, we’ve got ways to solve problems. Right here, next week, it will be Dutch Mantel and “The Franchise” Shane Douglas in our main event. As soon as Eddie Marlin exits, Ron Wright comes rolling in on his wheelchair. Ron Wright: If you ask me, Eddie Marlin keeps a stickin his nose where it don’t belong. If I had the money to do it, I would pay that fine for Dutch Mantel just to see Shane Douglas get the Bullwhip. But as ya’ll know, I’m a trying to save up some money to get those surgeries on my hips and knees so I can get on up out of this wheelchair and walk again. And while we’re on the subject of people wanted to know everybody’s business, people need to stop a comin up to me and asking have a signed any rasslers to contracts yet. People are in a hurry for me to fix all the heathen things going on around here, but I keep tellin them to be patient. I’m doing my scoutin. I’m thinking things through and pretty soon I will get a rassler or two signed on the dotted line. Next, Lance takes us back to last week where Ron Wright seemed to hand Boris Zhukov a foreign object which Ivan used in the match. This resulted in a disqualification. Ivan’s cousin, Soldat Ustinov came to ringside, and the duo attacked Horner and tried to hang him over the top rope with that Russian chain Ivan brought to the ring. Lucky for Horner, his partner Brad Armstrong rush down and made the save. Watts quickly fined Koloff for using a foreign object and then made our main event for this week… The Russians for The Lightening Express. Dutch: I, for one, think that Horner got exactly what he deserved. He come in here thinking he owned the whole city of Memphis. I mean Boris has been in the business forever and has won wresting titles all across the United States. That little puke Tim Horner shows him no respect. Lance: I bet you might be alone in your thinking there Dutch. Ron Wright: (rolling back in) Now hold on just a minute there Lance. I’m on Dutch’s side on this one. Let me tell you somethin about the Lightning Express. Ya’ll upset and accusing Ron Wright of given Boris Zhukov some kind of foreign object. For one thing, Ron Wright is a crippled man. I’m in a wheelchair and I can’t a hardly move. So how am I going to hand anybody anything. But more importantly, I’m a God-faring man. I would never think of interfering in any rastlin match. I’ve never harmed a hair on any man’s head that aint deserved it. Now, let’s all get to the ring and see what’s left of the Lightening Express when the Russians are done with them. Main Event Match The Lightening Express (Horner & Armstrong) vs Boris Zhukov a& Soldat Ustinov This is a wild back and forth match that is full of chaos with the most chaotic moment coming in the end. We see Brad Armstong escape and tags in Tim Horner after being trapped by the Russians and doing a great job of playing the babyface in peril. Horner comes in like a house a fire and is taking on both Russians until Armstrong recovers. Once Brad is ok, he returns to the fight only to be tossed through the middle ropes onto the floor. Brad quickly recovers again and climbs to the top rope and catches Ustinov in a Top Rope Cross Body Block. The ref sees this and quickly makes the three count! Dutch Mantel: Hey that ain’t right! Ustinov is not the legal man in the ring. Here comes Ron Wright rolling in again… Ron Wright: This commissioner Jerry Jarrett is an albatross! For those of you here without much schoolin, an albatross is nothing but a dirty bird! I mean we just saw that there referee cheat plan as day. Is Jerry Jarrett or Eddie Marlin out here finning him or suspending him. I don’t think so. Another thing, Championship Rasslin is going to any towns that’ll have em. I mean have you even checked to see if their handicap accessible? How am I supposed to sign anyone to a contract if I can’t even scout them? How am I going to make me some money and have those surgeries so I can get up out of this chair. An albatross I say. An albatross. Lance: Well maybe Ron, you should hurry up and sign some wrestlers and get those surgeries. Until next week, Lance Russell and Dutch Mantell saying bye bye everybody.
  11. Really enjoying the new AWA. Title Night is shaping up to be an awesome event this month. I have never done a battle royal with the last two teaming up for a tag title shot but I love the idea. Not sure DJ and Kelly can work together but we are going to find out. Also like the idea the Brenda is the only one who can talk to Morrow. All this little touches make the show such a great read. Billy Jack Strong over Mike George... I wonder what Gagne is thinking now... I hope he is fuming at his bad decision. In my mind Nikita and Adams seemed like a mismatch at first but now it seems like a pick-em to me. Throw in Baby Doll and we might have a new favorite. El Canek vs Crusher Blackwell is very interesting as both have been near the top in the past. Who is moving up the pecking order is very interesting to me. I'm all in on Crippler Ray Stevens!!! AWA keeps on rolling
  12. Great job giving World Championship Wrestling a real WORLD feel. The Japanese Tournament, Mexican Champ and European Champ are great details to add to this idea. RW vs Gang and Bossman would be a great match that is very believable. Race vs Rhodes... right up my ally. Freebirds... Steamboat... Savage... great angle. Enjoying WCW right now. Good job.
  13. PCW continues to be on a roll. You do an awesome job getting everyone involved in the action. So many great matches this week but you did a nice job keeping everyone looking strong with a few countouts. I would really like to see Undertaker and Hennig go a few more rounds to see who really is the top dog in PCW. As time has moved on in Dawn of War, Playboy has reinvented himself a bit by becoming even more cunning. Nice job here. Would like to see Dustin Rhodes face Windham in a few years to see who comes out on top. It makes sense for Windham to be on top now but down the road, this might be a coin flip.
  14. Now reading that last tv show was really fun! You had me hooked from the minute Morrow said we were going to Puerto Rico! Throw in Carlos Colon vs Bad news... Wow! I have so many thoughts running through my head with this one. What you had done with Carlos Colon over the past years (?), I really think he has a chance. But then Bad News has been so dominant, I change my mind. Then I think Puerto Rico and the homeland and I switch back to Colon. Then I think about things I have heard about the crowd in Puerto Rico and I think that if Bad News wins, he and the ref might not get out alive. But then again, its Bad News and he might take on the entire crowd. WHAT A MATCH!! Also really enjoyed the rest of the Morrow interview with Gagne. I loved seeing Gagne put in his place even if it was only for a moment before Gagne got some other sick plan. Nice idea with the Battle Royal where the winner gets a tag title shot! I think you hit on something with these title night shows. I might be stealing this one. I'm going to give you a lot of credit for how you are doing the Adams/Nikita feud. Many of us have used Nikita and we have always made him look unbeatable, like the Road Warriors in the early 80's. I am guilty of this and I became bored of him because all the matches were the same. I think this is one of the reasons I disliked the WWF back in the day. I never thought Hogan was going to loose. Whether it is with a chair or Baby Doll using some questionable tactics, I truly believe Adams can take down Koloff and to me this is what makes wrestling awesome. The Superkick with the steel chair... paints such a devastating picture. Great booking. I agree with Dream Machine... Johnny Rich needs friends. This is one of my favorite feuds in the game right now. Just love the Southern brawling feel here where a normal looking guy like Johnny Rich is taking on a whole herd. I think the idea of having a show for one match which be a perfect midnight show on any network. Throw in the idea that it is from Tokyo, and the interest would grow! Nice idea. Good week for the AWA. A show in Canada, Tokyo and an announced card in PR. This is what Dawn of War was originally going to be. The AWA takes over the world of Wrestling. Awesome
  15. Mid-South Wrestling 1988: Episode #8: February 25, 1988 Gordon Solie: Thank you so very, very much indeed for turning into another episode of Mid-South Wrestling. I’m Gordon Solie and it is my pleasure to be coming to you today from the Memorial Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Before we get to today’s show, first I need to show you a video clip from this past Monday night in Houma, Louisiana. VTR: What we see is Vader, Lex Luger, Dr. Death and Hacksaw Reed brawling all over the arena floor. Gordon Solie: Fans, I can tell you that Mid-South President Ernie Ladd is very upset at this situation as this is the second time in two weeks, a Mid-South Title bout between Lex Luger and Dr. Death has ended without a clear winner due to outside interference. Ladd explained that Woman ordered Vader to attack Dr. Death to prevent a title change and Hacksaw Butch Reed had to come to ringside to prevent Dr. Death from being injured. Ladd went on to say that because Vader keeps coming into the ring to interfere, he has signed a match for March 6rd in New Orleans to stop him from leaving the ring. It will be Dr. Death and Hacksaw Reed vs Vader and Luger inside a steel cage. Folks, I would like to bring out Dr. Death and Hacksaw Reed to get their thoughts on this match. Gentlemen…. Dr. Death: Enough is enough. It just might be time for Ernie Ladd to rethink his philosophy that all problems in the Mid-South get settled in the ring. While I can’t wait for March 6th and the Steel Cage Match against Lex Luger and Vader, it doesn’t change the fact that anytime Woman needs to save Lex Luger from losing his title, all she has to do is send in Vader. I will promise everyone watching that I will get my revenge on March 6th, it doesn’t change the fact that Lex Luger is a fake champion. Hacksaw Reed: I hear you Dr. Death but there is another way to solve this problem and it all starts in the Steel Cage Match. If Ernie Ladd wants us to solve all our problems in the ring, lets solve it. Let’s beat Luger and Vader so bad, that Luger is no longer able to defend his Mid-South title. Let’s take him out for good and then let Ladd figure a way to crown a new champ! Dr. Death gets a big grin across his face and the two give a big high five and walk away! Gordon Solie: BRO-ther. I wouldn’t want those two threatening me. Luger and Vader better be ready for the fight of their lives. With the steel cage match and the match between Ted Dibiase and Jake Roberts, our next card in the Lakefront Arena is turning out to be a tremendous show. As for tonight, we have another great hour instore for you. It will be the Super Destroyer taking on Mike Jackson. The Mid-South tag champs, Scott Steiner and Hercules Hernandez will be taking on the Assassins. Lanny Poffo will be here, and he will be facing El Santo Negro. Mighty Goliath and Rick Steiner will go one on one and the winner will get a tv title shot against Hacksaw Jim Duggan at Lakefront Arena. And if that was not enough, in our main event it will be a return bout for the Louisiana Heavyweight Title as Junkyard Dog challenges Ted Dibiase. That and much, much more. It looks like we are ready for our first match. Let’s head to the ring. MATCH #1 Super Destroyer defeats Mike Jackson with a Superplex After the bout, Super Destroyer goes to the podium and is not too happy that Rick Steiner and Mighty Goliath are having a #1 contenders match for the tv title. He feels that Hacksaw Jim Duggan is ducking him and he is sick of it. When Gordon tries to explain that he is relatively new to Mid-South Wrestling and it takes time to move up the ranks, Super D becomes even angrier and said talent, not time should be the basis for title shots! COMMERCIALIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR BATON ROUGE When we come out of break, Eddie Gilbert, Missy Hayatt and Rick Steiner are at the podium. Gordon Solie: Well Mr. Steiner, you must be very proud that you have been given a shot tonight to earn a Mid-South TV Title match. Eddie Gilbert: Gordon, when are you going to learn. Missy and myself are the voices for Hot Stuff Inc. If you have any questions, please address them to one of us. Rick has been instructed to speak when he is told to speak. Gordon Solie: Uh huh, so do either you are Missy have anything to say about Rick’s match tonight vs Mighty Goliath. Missy Hyatt: I will let you know that Rick is very thankful for the help and training that Eddie and I have given him over the past months. That being said, I will admit that I was surprised that Rick was given this opportunity. I mean the TV champion is the face of the franchise. Shouldn’t that be Eddie Gilbert. Eddie Gilbert: Now, now Missy. We talked in the back and understand that Ernie Ladd is just trying to protect Hacksaw Duggan. We all know Rick won’t win the title but this is a great opportunity for him and his development. Thanks Gordon. We are going to prepare for the match. Gordon Solie: Fair enough. When Hot Stuff Inc. walks off, Gordon wonders if it is possible for two people to have bigger egos than Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt. MATCH #2 Mid-South Tag Team Title Match Hercules Hernandez & Scott Steiner vs The Assassins (Roger Smith & Brooklyn Brawler in the black tights, black, long sleeved shirts and the yellow and black masks) After to the match, the Mid-South tag champs are at the podium. Gordon Solie: Congratulations gentlemen. Another very impressive win. Scott, I was wondering if you heard the comments before from Eddie Gilbert before about your brother. Scott Steiner: Gordon… there is nothing left for me to say. If Rick can’t see the forest through the trees, he is going to have to learn the hard way. I wish him luck tonight but as long he is under the spell of Missy Hyatt and Eddie Gilbert, he will never reach his full potential. Gordon Solie: I completely agree. Now Hercules, what are your thoughts on all the great challengers for your tag team titles. Hercules Hernandez: Gordon… it doesn’t matter who we face in the ring. Our power, speed and teamwork will never be outmatched! We will take on all comers. Gordon Solie: Very interesting words gentlemen. We need to take a break. The problem was that before we got to break, Ivan Koloff and Wahoo McDaniel attacked the champs from behind. With the use of long steel chains, Koloff and McDaniel were able to due substantial damage before Dick Murdoch and a few others were able to make the save. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR BATON ROUGE When we come out of break, an obviously shaken Gordon Solie, explains that in all his years of being in the wrestling business, he has rarely seen two men as vial as Ivan Koloff and Wahoo McDaniel. He said that both Scott Steiner and Hercules Hernandez have been taken to a local hospital for medical attention and that if he hears anything before the program ends, he will let everyone know. Next, Woman, Lex luger and Vader come out to discuss the Steel Cage Match on March 6th. Woman: Gordon, I’m planning on managing the Mid-South Champion for a long, long time. I’m also planning on managing both “The Total Package” Lex Luger and Big Van Vader for a long, long time. So, I guess if we put those two statements together, regardless of what Hacksaw Reed or Dr. Death says, Lex Luger will be the Mid-South Champion for a long, long time. Lex Luger: Dr. Death… you were out hearing complaining about how Ernie Ladd wants all issues in Mid-South solved in the ring. Come to think about Dr. Death… the reason you don’t like that idea is that you have never beaten me in the ring. Gordon Solie: To be fair Mr. Luger, it seems that every time you face Dr. Death, someone interferes on your behalf. Woman: Gordon, baby, please don’t interrupt. Vader: Hey Butch Reed… Dr. Death… you talk about getting some revenge inside the steel cage, well, I got the same idea. I’ve made a promise to both Lex and Woman to prove that last week’s match vs Dr. Death was a fluke. You talk about injuring us and putting us out of action… trust me, that’s exactly what Woman told us to do. And we all know… what Woman wants, Woman gets. Gordon Solie: Uh huh. Let’s get back to the action. Match #3 Lanny Poffo defeats El Santo Negro with the top rope diving splash After the bout, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Paul Ellering are at the podium. Jake Roberts: Sometimes Gordon, you just come across someone who does things differently. I just might be that person. It seems like Ted Dibiase has made a mistake and turned his focus off of me and onto Junkyard Dog. Now I understand that he has a Louisiana Title Match in just about 15 minutes against my good friend JYD but I don’t play any games. I don’t play any games because I control this sport. I control you Mr. Dibiase. And let’s not forgot that 15 minutes is a lot of time. Watch yourself Mr. Dibiase. Maybe I get you tonight. Maybe I get you in the parking lot. Or just maybe, I wait until March 6th in Lakefront Arena. Paul Ellering: Ted Dibiase… I got a little story to tell ya. It’s a story by Mark Twain and it goes something like this. There once was a big old cat that ran around the kitchen and got everything it wanted. It gets petted. It gets all the treats it wants. Sounds a little like you Mr. Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase. You are used to getting everything you want. Well one day that cat runs across a hot stove and burns his little paws. Now that cat never made that mistake again. The cat never sits on a hot stove again but he also never sits on a cold one again. He has learned how to survive but not to thrive. That is what you are faced with Ted Dibiase. You may survive tonight against JYD but I doubt you will thrive. On March 6th, I can guarantee that you will not thrive and I even doubt that you will survive. You can only be a fat cat for so long before you run out of lives. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR BATON ROUGE Match #4 #1 Contenders Match for the Mid-South TV Title Rick Steiner vs Mighty Goliath The match was pretty even for the first few minutes but after that it was clear that Steiner’s conditioning and technical skill were far better then Goliath’s. One of the more interesting parts of the match saw Eddie Gilbert look like he tried to trip Goliath but actually caught his own teammate with the trip and down went Rick. It took Steiner a few minutes to regain the momentum but when he did, he was able to get the win after a big clothesline/legdrop combo. Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt didn’t seem as excited as you would have expected for their young pupil and Steiner was left to celebrate on his own. After the bout, Ted Dibiase with Shiek Adnan Al Kassie and the rest of the Million Dollar Corporation come to the podium. With Rotundo and The Barbarians, this show of force was really an attempt by Dibiase to show all his competitors just how much firepower he really has to protect him. Gordon Solie: I’m sure Mr. Dibiase that you hear the words of Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Paul Ellering just a short time ago. Ted Dibiase: To tell you the truth Gordon, I have stopped listening to those two. For one, they talk in riddles. It is like reading Dr. Suess. Second, I have a match to get ready for. I’ve been hearing all week that I’m in trouble. Junkyard Dog tonight. Jake Roberts in Lakefront Arena. They say I can’t possible survive. I can’t possibly still be the Louisiana Champion. Isn’t that what being a champion does. We fight the best every night. That is exactly what I do and so far nobody has taken my title. And guess what Gordon. I plan on being the champion after March 6th. Sheik Adnan begins to rant in Arabic until Gordon Solie can take no matter and sends us into a commercial break. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR BATON ROUGE Before our main event match, Gordon Solie announces that both Scott Steiner and Hercules Hernandez have suffered only minor injuries and will not miss any scheduled matches. He also says that the Mid-South Tag champs have asked and been granted a title match for March 6th in New Orleans against Ivan Koloff and Wahoo McDaniel. Match #5 Louisiana Heavyweight Title Match Ted Dibiase © with Sheik Adnan Al Kassie vs Junkyard Dog JYD has all the fans pumped with his ring apron dance and dog chain swinging to Another One Bites the Dust. Dibiase comes in much more subdued and simple points at the title around his waist. As far as the match goes, it is hard to tell be the tactics who exactly is the babyface as this has nothing to do with wrestling. From the second the bell sounded; this one was nothing but a pure Pier 6 Brawl! The end saw JYD with all the momentum and Sheik jumping up on the apron to distract the ref. While this was happening, Mike Rotundo was caught on camera soaking a white towel in some sort of liquid. Gordon Solie was certain that his was the same liquid that proved to knock JYD out two weeks ago in New Orleans. With the ref dealing with the Sheik, Rotundo tossed the towel to Dibiase. JYD intercepted the towel and tossed it to the side. WHAM… Thump by JYD on Dibiase… Ref turns sees JYD on top of Dibiase and starts the count. 1… 2… WHAM… Konga “The Barbarian” comes off the top rope with an elbow to the back of the head. The ref immediately calls for the DQ but it doesn’t matter. The Million Dolloar Corporation is all over JYD. Sheik is actually got the towel and has it over JYD’s face. As JYD goes out, The Barbarians and Rotundo are kicking and mauling JYD. Suddenly the crowd cheers. It is Jake “The Snake.” He simply drags Dibiase to the ring floor without anyone seeing as they are still beating JYD. He gets Dibiase in a front chinlock. Paul Ellering starts banging on the ring from the apron to get everone’s attention. As everyone turns… WHAM… DDT on the concrete floor by Snake on Dibiase. The Million Dollar Corporation has a look of shock on their faces and rush to the aid of their leader. Snake and Ellering simply walk away as there is a look of big concern for Dibiase. Murdoch, Scott Steiner and Hercules Hernandez rush out to aid JYD… The two factions look at each other but stay focused on their fallen allies instead of engaging each other. Gordon Solie lets us all know that we are out of time and to join him next week at the same time and to get your tickets early for the big event in New Orleans for March 6th. Gordon Solie: So long from the Pelican State.
  16. Some great booking this week in the NWA. As I was reading that The Special Forces defeated the Wrecking Crew I was at first surprised but then saw it was Brad Anderson that took the fall. Great job! Brad gives the Andersons that guy who can take the losses while they keep looking strong. Same idea with the run-in by Jimmy Garvin. You kept Ronnie and Terry Taylor looking strong while moving another angle along. Awesome job.
  17. Championship Wrestling Association: Episode #1: March 4 1988 (Thought I'd get this started early as I am sure I will fall behind at some point) The traditional CWA opening is played with some music being played as we see all the big stars of Memphis past hitting big moves. One exception is there is no Jerry “The King” Lawler in the intro. Lance Russell: Yellow everybody. For the first time in over four years, the Championship Wrestling Association is back. Jerry Jarrett has separated from the AWA and is back in charge of the CWA and will be bringing great wrestling action to all the fans in Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and Alabama. The CWA promises to bring you professional wrestling like it used to be and the way you like it. I’m Lance Russell and on this week’s program you are going to see such stars as Big Money Marcus, “All-America” Action Jackson, Brett Sawyer, The Hood, “The Franchise” Shane Douglas, and the Dirty White Boy. We will also be talking to the notorious Ron Wright and the Commissioner of Championship Wrestling Association, Jeff Jarrett. . In our main event, you will see “White Lightening” Tim Horner vs “The Mighty Russian”, Boris Zhukov. And right here to help me call all the action, the Dirty Dutchman, Dutch Mantel. Dutch Mantel: (gestures to the fans asking them to hold their applause but they are actually booing.) Hold it down out there. I know you are excited to see me, the one and only Dutch Mantell, back in Memphis but I’m here to see main eventers lock horns in the ring, not listen to you folks. I’m also here to see this guy they call “the Franchise,” one Shane Douglas. I’m going to get to see what Douglas has to offer and then I’ll give you an honest opinion if he is the real deal or not. Lance Russell: Yes sirreee, nothing but honesty coming from Dirty Dutch. We are ready to kick off our first show here in the CWA. Bell Time. Heeeeerrreeeeeee we go! (In order to fill time with a such a small roster, all matches begin with wrestlers making their entrance to the ring on camera and with entrance music.) . MATCH #1 Big Money Marcus vs Action Jackson Big Money Marcus makes a statement by just walking to the ring. He is about 6’7 and weighs way over 300 hundred pounds. He is dressed in a dark suit, with sunglasse and large gold chains are around his neck. He walks slowly to the ring daring a fan to get in his way while “The Gambler” from Kenny Rogers is playing on the background. This is all in contrast to Action Jackson who comes to the ring wearing only his wrestling tights. He jogs out to “Made in America” by James Brown and is interacting with as many fans as he could. Once the match starts we quickly find out that this is a wrestler vs a brawler. Big Money breaks every rule he could while trying to break Action Jackson. Jackson finds a way to withstand the abuse and connects with the top rope shoulder block for the win. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville Lance: That was a great opening match today. Folks, let me now bring in the commissioner of Championship Wrestling Association, Jerry Jarrett. Jarrett: Thank you Lance. It is sure good to be home. I’m going to make it my personal goal to bring great professional wrestling home to the Mecca of Wrestling… Memphis, Tennessee. No longer will the Mid-South Coliseum be just another arena. It’s going to once again be the center of this sport. No longer will Evansville, Louisville, and Nashville be some afterthoughts in this sport. They are going to be major players for great wrestling action. I’ve been involved in this business for over 30 years and I’ve seen every trick in the book tried against me. I’m ready for anything that these wrestlers will try to pull. It's time to bring wrestling back to a time of yesteryear; when wrestling was the sport of kings. I’m going to make wrestling affordable to all the fans. Championship Wrestling will have family friendly prices as it is you, the community that will make this promotion a success. The fines will be heavy on wrestlers who break the rules. No foreign objects, no touching the referees, no over-the-top rope, no nonsense. CWA Wrestling will live by this motto: God, Country, family and fairness. Anyone who goes against that will suffer a hefty price. Myself and my general manager, Eddie Marlin are going to be watching closely and we are going to make sure everyone plays by the rules. Lance: Thanks Jerry. I’m sure you’re the man to get this job done. Now let’s welcome to back to the CWA, one of the biggest stars in Memphis wrestling history, “The Fabulous One” Steve Keirn. Welcome Steve. Steve Keirn: Thanks Lance. It’s sure great to be here on the first CWA show in over 4 years. I’m real excited to get back to wrestling the way it used to be. Jerry Jarrett is right when he says order needs to be restored. I like that we are going to focus on wrestling here and not the chaos like they do in other places. I can’t wait for my first match here in Memphis and I don’t care who it’s against. I’m going to give these fans 100% each and every time I step in the ring. MATCH #2 “The Franchise” Shane Douglas vs Cougar Jay Shane Douglas makes quick work of Cougar Jay with the finish coming with a belly to belly suplex We now cut to a pre-taped interview with Ron Wright who is sitting in a wheelchair. Ron Wright: It certainly is nice to be here Tennessee. Just like to tell everyone why I’m sitting in this here wheelchair. My Rastlin career is over. All those years of a fighting those non-Christian heathens has taken a toll on my body. I need a hip implant. I need a knee implant. I’m generally just in a bad way. Now, I’m over here in the great state of Tennessee doing a little scouting. I’m a lookin over all the top rastlers in the area and wishing to sign one or two to a contract. Listen up everyone, if I get your name on a contract, I can a guarantee you that I will get you to the top. In this way, I can earn a little money and maybe get out of this wheelchair and get my life back. I have the experience. I have they knowledge and most of all, I understand the system here in this part of the country. But don’t you a worry one bit. It will all be done in the Christian way! As we head back to live tv, Dutch Mantel: What a shame Lance. Ron Wright is such a great man. I hope he gets a chance to manage someone and get these surgeries he so desperately needs. Lance: Come on Dutch. You know as well as I do that Ron Wright can’t be trusted. He’s been terrorizing the wrestling world and especially Tennessee for almost 40 years. Dutch: I think you are one of those Non-Christians he was talking about. Let’s get back to the ring. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville MATCH #3 The Hood vs Bret Wayne Sawyer The Hood comes to the ring wearing a black mask and long black tights. He is large, about 6’3, 270 pounds and in great shape. Throughout the match, Bret Sawyer tries to use his speed to keep the big man off balance but The Hood controls most of the action with a mix a power moves and rule breaking attacks. In the end, The Hood hoisted Sawyer up for a big bodyslam but Sawyer slipped out of his grip and rolled down his back, rolling up The Hood for the surprise pin. Lance: Well look at that. You never know what is going to happen if you don’t give up. Brett Sawyer pulls victory from the grasps of defeat. Dutch: I think he pulled victory with a grasp of the tights. That was cheating if you ask me. Lance: Oh Dutch, come on. Give Bret Wayne Sawyer some credit. Commercials + Promos for upcoming events in Memphis, Evansville, Louisville and Nashville Match # 4 The Dirty White Boy destroys Bill Taub with the end coming by the Bucksnort Blaster (chokeslam) Interesting thing here was that Ron Wright rolled himself out onto the entrance ramp and was taking notes. Both Lance and Dutch pointed out that it seems like Wright has started his scouting. Dutch continued by saying Ron Wright should sign the promising Dirty White Boy and it might help him to earn some of that money he so desperately needs to have those much needed hip and knee surgeries. You could tell Lance was fed up with the whole Ron Wright story and can’t believe that Dutch has fallen for it. Lance: Folks, I would now like to welcome back to the show, The Franchise, Shane Douglas. That was quite a win you had earlier. Shane Douglas: Thanks Lance. I’m here to show everyone what I got and I can’t wait to challenge myself against all the great wrestlers here in Memphis. I know down the road there is going to be a tournament to crown the new Southern Heavyweight Champion and I plan on giving that my best shot. It would be awesome to win that belt. Dutch: Hey Shane. I’m Dutch Mantel and I got a lot of experience in this sport. I was watching that match of your before and it was pretty good. Shane: Thanks Dutch Dutch: Hold on just a minute “Franchise.” I said pretty good. I think when you whipped your opponent into the corner earlier, you might have made a mistake on how you rushed in afterwards. I mean this might work out against the likes of Cougar Jay but not sure your skills are worthy of someone calling himself “The Franchise.” I mean you got a chance at success in this sport but if you don’t make some changes your going to flounder around on the bottom. All I’m saying is I would have wrestled that match a lot differently. Shane: That’s right Dutch, you would have lost the match! Lance: (laughing as Shane walks away) I think he got you on that one Dutch. Let’s get to the ring for our main event. Main Event Match “White Lightening” Tim Horner vs “The Mighty Russian” Boris Zhukov As the match drags on, it becomes obvious that Ron Wright is wheeling himself closer to the ring as he seems very intrigued by Zhukov. Eventually Wright is all the way to the apron as Zhukov and Horner are battling by the ropes. The camera catches Wright handing some sort of object to Zhukov. WHAM… Zhukov nails Horner with a loaded fist. The ref didn’t notice the object and makes the three count and wards Zhukov the match. Brad Armstrong, Horner’s partner, rushes to the ring. He is arguing with the ref about the illegal weapon. WHAM… from behind, Soldat Ustinov, Zhukov’s cousin, hits the ring and the two Russians begin to pummel Armstrong. Eventually they tie the big Russian chain around the neck of Armstrong and seem poised to toss Brad over the top rope and hang him. Tim Horner recovers just in time and attacks the Russians. Soon we get a 2-2 brawl all over the ring. Eventually Horner and Armstrong with the brawl and the Russians are heading for the aisle. Almost as fast as the Russians leave, General Manager Eddie Marlin appears… Marlin: Boris Zhukov! The cameras don’t lie. Ron Wright handed you an illegal object and you used it. While Ron Wright should not have done that, he did not force you to use so he is off the hook this time. But you Boris broke our “No Illegal Weapons” rule and you as of right now, you have been fined one thousand dollars. Lance: Finally, wrestling the way it should. Fans, we hope to have you join us each and every week right here on The Superstation 17 each and every Saturday evening at 7:05. Until next week, Lance Russell and Dutch Mantell saying bye bye everybody.
  18. I enjoyed how realistic everything was. By this time, so many of the big guys were over doing tours in Japan. Liked how you worked that in. Continue to enjoy the figure shows at the end. Very creative. I think you made a good choice in Steamboat over Bam Bam. He is just capable of doing so many different things in the ring compared to Bigelow. I am really into your Savage/Freebird war. I still wonder who Savage is going to get to help in this feud. Good work!
  19. Awesome trip to Hawaii as PCW gives the fans 20 great matches. The first time I ever tried this hobby, I wrote for Polynesian Power Pro Wrestling and it was really fun. The mainlanders always seemed to be the heels vs the native islanders with some Japanese wrestlers scattered in. It was cool. As for your trip to Hawaii, so many great things which will help shape PCW going forward. I can't wait to see what happens to Backlund now that he has lost his title! Smart booking having Steamboat win the first match of the event. This would have made the people of Hawaii completely buy in. As I said before, I love our twists of real life tag team partners going at it... Hart and Neidhart is a fun read. The Undertaker, even without a belt, might be the top dog in PCW and he proved it here. Even in a 6-Man tag match, I love seeing Billy Jack vs Playboy. Just has that Pacific Northwest real life feel. It will be interesting to see what the Midnight Express do after a tough loss. I like your decision to end the Windham/Hennig match with chaos. Keeps this feud going which will keep ticket sales high. Just a question... Do you know if the people of Hawaii were able to see wrestling from the mainland in 1988. I know as a kid, I got Polynesian Pro on the MSG channel but unsure of the cable situation in Hawaii at the time. I know they loved their show but not sure if it worked both ways. I remember Jerry Lawler being there, Lars Anderson being there but many of the stars were from the South Pacific. Farmer Boy Ipo, Samoan LeRoy Brown, Mighty Milo, Super Samoan Sakalia were some of the names I remember. It was really fun to watch.
  20. Great event as the AWA returns to Canada. For me, the highlights included where that Billy Jack Jack Strong had the guts to try and hoist Kokina up on his shoulder, the details you wrote the Caribbean Death Match with, and that Chris Adams held his own with Nikita who eventually won with a roll-up of all things. I know Al Perez has held his own in back to back title matches but Bad News is growing in invincibility. Wonder who is next for the champ.
  21. Mid-South Wrestling 1988: Episode #7: February 17, 1988 The show opens with a montage from last week’s big event in New Orleans. We see Super Destroyer with a superplex on Action Jackson, Vader with a middle rope knee drop on Mighty Goliath. Rick Steiner and Hercules Hernandez battling on the floor, Scott Steiner with a big suplex on Rick Steiner, Jake “The Snake” with a DDT on Nord “The Barbarian, Hacksaw Duggan hitting Mike Rotundo with a football tackle, Reed with a top rope shoulder block on Ivan Kolff, Ted Dibiase with a piledriver on JYD and then holding up his new Louisiana Heavyweight title and in the moment of the night… Hacksaw Butch Reed with a Military Press Slam on the Mid-South Champion Lex Luger. Gordon Solie: Thank you so very, very much indeed for turning into another episode of Mid-South Wrestling. I’m Gordon Solie and it is my pleasure to be coming to you today from the Memorial Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. What an event it was last week in New Orleans and the Lakefront Arena with some big ramifications for Mid-South Wrestling. First, as you just saw, we do have a new Louisiana Heavyweight Champion in Ted Dibiase. Now that match was not without controversy, and we will be hearing from Ernie Ladd on that subject in just a little while. We also had a wild ending to the night as Konga “The Barbarian”, the newest member of the Million Dollar Corporation helped Lex Luger to keep his Mid-South title. We will be talking to both Ted Dibiase and Woman about this during this hour. We will also have the Super Destroyer in action against Billy Two Eagles. Hacksaw Butch Reed will be making his return to Mid-South television as he will take on Killer Brooks. The newest tag team in Mid-South, The Barbarians will face Mike Jackson and JT Southern and in our main event it will be Dr. Death taking on Vader. For those of you who were in New Orleans this past week, you know that Vader was as responsible for Dr. Death not getting his Mid-South title back as anyone so Dr. Death will be seeking revenge. Before we get to the ring, we need to bring out Mid-South President, Ernie Ladd. Welcome Mr. Ladd. Ernie Ladd: Thank you Gordon. First, I would like to thank the great people of New Orleans for helping to put on a great event this past Monday. We are looking forward to our return in just under a month on March 6th. Already signed for that match is Ted Dibiase vs Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Gordon Solie: That will make one heck of a Louisiana Title Match. Ernie Ladd: Not so fast Gordon. Junkyard Dog, who in my opinion, had his title stolen from him, will get his rematch right here on TV next week. As I said, I thought JYD had his title stolen from him by Sheik Adnan Al Kassie but as we say here in Mid-South Wrestling, we solve our problems in the ring. So, JYD, you get return match next week. Sheik Adnan… you clearly had something on that rag you stuck in JYD’s mouth. You clearly helped Ted Dibiase cheat his way to the title. For that you must pay. Again, here in Mid-South Wrestling, we settle things in the ring. So, today I have added one more match to the card. It will be Junkyard Dog vs…. Sheik Adnan Al Kassie. (The crowd explodes) And JYD, you can have as many of your friends at ringside so the rest of the Million Dollar Corporation can’t interfere. Gordon Solie: Well, well. This is some addition to our show. Fans, it looks like our timekeeper is ready to go. Let’s get to the ring. MATCH #1 Super Destroyer defeats Billy Two Eagles with a Superplex In a quick-post match interview, Super D continues to be after Hacksaw Duggan and a tv title shot. COMMERCIALIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR BATON ROUGE Prior to the match, Jake “The Snake” and Paul Ellering are at the both. Gordon Solie: Jake, it seems there is no way for Ted Dibiase to avoid you now. Ernie Ladd has signed the contract. It will be you and him on March 6th at the Lakefront Arena. Jake Roberts: Time… Sweet time. Sometimes it goes by real slow and sometimes it goes by in the blink of an eye. For me, the rest of this month is going to crawl bye. Day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, I will be consumed with the idea of revenge on Ted Dibiase. Then come March 6th, time will fly by like a whirlwind as I savory every moment of my total and complete destruction of Dibiase. And by March 7th, you Ted Dibiase will have eternity to think of what just happened. Paul Ellering: Gordon, I have been in this business a while now. I’ve wrestled. I’ve managed. I’ve controlled some of the most uncontrollable men ever to step foot in that ring. Jake “The Snake” Roberts is by far the most focused wrestler I’ve ever been around. He knows what he wants and how he is going to do it. The only questioned is, can Jake wait until the sands in the hourglass run out or will he find you, Ted Dibiase, when you least expect it. Gordon Solie: Very interesting words gentlemen. Let’s get back to the ring. Match #2 Hacksaw Butch Reed defeats Killer Brooks with a Military Press Slam After the match, Hacksaw Butch Reed is with Gordon Solie and wants to talk about last Friday night at Lakefront Arena. Gordon Solie: Butch first of all, great to have you back in Mid-South. Hacksaw Butch Reed: Gordon, I’m home. I’ve been away waaay to long. I admit that I left the wrong way back in July. I was frustrated at how Woman and Lex Luger stole my title. I just want to say sorry to all the fans and hope they can support me once again. Gordon: So what did bring you back? Hacksaw: It is just as Dick Murdoch explained. He needed a partner. He was sick of Wahoo McDaniel and Ivan Koloff. He called me up and in this business… when a friend calls, you answer it. Gordon: And take us back to last Monday night in New Orleans. Hacksaw: To tell ya the truth… it was like I never left. I got out there and Murdoch and I took care of business. Next thing you know, Woman is doing her mischief again. I see Vader and Konga attacking Dr. Death. I couldn’t hold myself back. When I tell ya the power I felt when I hoisted Luger up and slammed him to the ground… it was unbelievable. Woman… Luger…. I’ve been dreaming of my return and now I’m back! Gordon Solie: And we’re glad to have you back. Thanks for your time Hacksaw. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR BATON ROUGE Prior to the match, Ted Dibiase joins Sheik Adnan Al Kassie and The Barbarians at the podium Ted Dibiase: Gordon, before you even say a word, I just want you to know how good I feel just because of the fact that I am me. The head of the Million Dollar Corporation. More money than I know what to do with and yes… the new Louisiana Heavyweight Champion. Gordon Solie: A title you won by some questionable tactics but we will get to that in a moment. First, I want to ask you about why your man, Konga “The Barbarian.” He seemed to be helping Lex Luger in his match against Dr. Death. Ted Dibiase: Gordon, you have heard me talk time and time again about money. While I do have a whole heck of a lot of it, there is no sense wasting it. Woman has been “renting” out Konga for the better part of a year now. We’ve seen Konga working for Tully Blanchard and Dark Journey. We saw Konga up in the Chicago area. Well, when I negotiated the acquisition of Konga from Woman, we made a deal that Konga would work for Woman one last time. Gordon Solie: Fair enough. Now let me ask you Sheik about last Monday night in New Orleans. Obviously, you had some chemicals on that towel you put over Junkyard Dog. Sheik Adnan Al Kassie: Of course there were chemicals on that towel. JYD was foaming at the mouth from the beating he was receiving in the ring. It was like he had rabies and I went to save his life but I also wanted to save my own. Simple sanitizing solution was all that was on that towel. Gordon Solie: Ah huh Sir. Well neither Ernie Ladd nor myself are buying that one and tonight JYD gets you one on one in the ring. Sheik Adnan Al Kassie: Ernie Ladd… I will give you one last time to change your mind about the match tonight or you may suffer grave consequences. I am a manager; not a wrestler. You better pray that nothing happens to me tonight. My lawyers have already been contacted and if I get hurt or sick from that drooling heap of hound, I will sue you and everyone associated with Mid-South Wrestling. Ernie Ladd comes out and “clearly” explains to Sheik that he doesn’t have to enter the ring later to face JYD but that if he decides not to face JYD tonight, he will reverse the referees “controversial” decision and vacate the Louisiana Title. Suddenly, Dibiase lets Ernie Ladd know that Sheik will be in the ring later tonight to face JYD. Gordon now lets the Million Dollar Corporation know they have a match and need to head to the ring. Match #3 The Barbarians (Konga & Nord) with Sheik Adnan Al Kassie destroy Mike Jackson & JT Southern with the end coming from a top rope shoulder smash from Konga After the match, JYD and Dr. Death are with Gordon Solie Gordon Solie: Well, JYD, it seems like you got Sheik a little nervous. JYD: Gordon, (JYD howling at the moon) Sheik Adnan, you shouldn’t be the least bit nervous. I mean, I‘m only nervous when I don’t know what’s going to happen. We all know what’s about to happen to you. The Dog is going to Thump you so hard you might end up falling through the ring and land all the way down in your homeland. Now, Ted Dibiase on the other hand… he should be nervous. He don’t know if it’s going to be the Dog or the Snake that’s about to send him home. One thing for certain his Louisiana Title reign is not going to be too long. Dr. Death: Gordon… the tide is turing. The tide is turning. The next 30 minutes the entire landscape of Mid-South is gonna change. First, I’m going to take out a huge cog in Woman’s plans. Her security blanket… the one she counts on to deal with all the trouble, Vader, is going to pay, and pay severely for costing me the Mid-South title last week in New Orleans COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR BATON ROUGE Prior to the match, Woman (wearing some big new diamond earrings, presumable from the sale of Konga), Lex Luger (the Mid-South Champion, and Vader are with Gordon Solie Gordon Solie: Woman, you always seem to have a plan. Woman: Gordon, darling, are you surprised. Are you saying that because I look like this, you presumed I couldn’t be smart also? Gordon: Ummm, uhh no, um Woman: Oh Gordon, you are so cute. I did have a plan for last week and I do have a plan going forward. I don’t care if its Dr. Death. I don’t care if its Dick Murdoch. And I really don’t care if its Hacksaw Reed. Lex Luger will be the Mid-South Champion for a long time, and it is my job to make sure he is. Vader… Konga… myself… It doesn’t matter but we will make sure that the gold stays in my stable. Lex Luger: Dr. Death… we have met twice in the last two months. Each time, I have come out on top. Soon, you should realize that no matter what you do, the Total Package can’t be stopped. Match #4 Dr. Death defeats Vader with Woman after connecting with two Oklahoma Stampedes. There was just no stopping Dr. Death tonight. No matter what Vader did, Williams was able to regain the momentum and eventually get the win. Interesting thing here was that at no point in the match did Woman or Luger even think of going after Dr. Death. When the match was over, Dr. Death dares Luger to come to the ring but he smugly declined. COMMERCIAL BREAK -PROMO FOR BATON ROUGE Match #5 Junkyard Dog vs Sheik Adnan Al Kassie The crowd was in a frenzy from the first chord of “Another One Bites the Dust” as they knew they were about to see a complete and utter destruction of the hated Sheik. With the ring surrounded by JYD allies, JYD gave the fans exactly what they wanted. He tore Sheik limb from limb and then connected with the biggest THUMP (powerslam) seen in Mid-South. As the ref completed the three count, Gordon Solie reminded fans that this was only the first step in JYD’s revenge against the Million Dollar Corporation and told everyone, that right here next week we will becoming to you from the Riverside Centroplex in Baton Rouge where the main event will be JYD against Ted Dibiase for the Louisiana Title. Gordon Solie: So long from the Pelican State.
  22. Really good build for the Clash. I think it shows that I am an early 80's guy but my favorite angle has to be Dusty vs Harley. I think Steamboat vs Bigelow is a huge match as it will give us an idea of where you want to go with WCW. While Steamboat obviously has a lot left in the tank, it is still a bout of old vs new. Looking forward to this one!!
  23. Now this is the Dawn of War we had in mind when we first started this back in 2019. The AWA is taking over the world. You got the bog show coming up in Canada and then the next title event in Puerto Rico. AWESOME!! I really like the idea of Dream Machine coming out and confronting Johnny Rich about how Tommy was such an awesome champ and Johnny disagreeing and wanting to save the Rich name!! El Canek leveling Gagne was the moment of the week in Dawn of War! I hate Gagne!! I like what you are doing with the Original Midnight Express. They have the name to be a major player in your tag division but they are going to have to earn it. Would enjoy a rematch with Venomous. Gerry Morrow is doing great things for the AWA!!
  24. Awesome show in Greensboro. Love the Kazmaier-Black Bart angle and how they both interfered in each other's matches. Ric Flair-Tully 60 Minute draw. I think we in Dawn of War use the 60 minute draw a bit too much but in this case it fits perfectly. You need to have two wrestlers who are not only in good enough shape to do it but also have the ability to hold the fans interests for this long as this two can do both!!! Onto the Omni... Just a little background here... it was always my dream as a NY kid to go to one of the big events in the Onmi! When I saw the DDQ with Brody and Debeers, I thought that was a great booking decision. Brody continues to build his wildman reputation while the legend of Debeers keeps on growing. Nice job. Regardless of the outcome, any match between the Andersons and the RnR Express brings in major money. Great match. As for the TV shows this week, I love how you continue to make sure you push your angles allowing some big stars to get dominating wins while also keeping the fans on the edge of their seats with some great matches. I think Morton vs Dundee would be a classic as these two can do it all. Also, Fuller vs Jaggers is exactly what we always wanted watching Georgia, Florida or Mid-Atlantic.... A great Southern Brawl. Nice job!! Great bit of history with the 40 year anniversary of the NWA... Cool move with the Heritage Title. Garvin vs Garvin... cool!
  25. Mid-South releases Adrian Adonis and adds Ted Allen, Rocky King and Joey Jackson
