The inter workings of ROH business side really interest me as well. What exactly is ROH's deal if they make money do they keep it or does it go to SBGI are they limited only to the budget as in do they keep the money from the camps? If NJPW was open to helping ROH compete with WWE would that have to be authorized by SBGI corporate 1st? also ANX might not be a great example because they both actually were students from the original ROH school so they already "earned" their spot in ROH but, I do understand the idea you are trying to point out what if a guy like Lio Rush is now pushed high in the ToPT over guys who literally paid their dues what message does that send to not only guys like Will Farrara but also any new talent that might think about going to a camp. And legit I thought Colby was dead.

Dr. Keith Presents - Bryan Danielson

Naw man thanks for the bump I listened to this when it came out but I'd liked to give it a 2nd go now for old times sake. I'm still a little misty eyed -
Dumb in a different way but I've always thought that in it's terribleness it's somewhat brilliant although, cannot be executed in a way that wouldn't just be business exposing the ever elusive "Falls Count Somewhere" match people say it has happened in PWG or Excalibur talked about it on commentary, some other companies have seen ran it as a joke. Simply put falls count only in a predetermined spot that the competitors and fans are not privy to.

Tag match with Kid and Cesaro I think on a smack down forgot his partner (edit it was Cena THE BELLA BROS!!!) -
I don't know that anyone else in wrestling has done a better job of mixing strike based martial arts into wrestling than Tommy End, the problem inherit with that is overdone striking in wrestling can become an issue if you compare what happens in legitimate martial arts competitions and fights to what happens in wrestling you start to break down the ability to suspend disbelief but, much like the argument for Volk Han being the pinnacle of this style makes him deserve a place in the GWE conversation I think the same can apply to End. End does an amazing job of riding the line by working in flash knock out finishes, selling his own injuries between strikes, and having a sadistic attitude of constantly wanting to dish out more punishment. From the beginning Tommy was very obviously a fantastic athlete with natural instincts for combat sports having some very good showings even early on in his career and getting his first international exposure wrestling on a PWG European vacation show in 2006 in the decade since that time he has greatly improved in-ring and out as a guy who can cut a very believable subdued professional-athlete promo or go completely off the deep end integrating satanic rituals and iconography into pre-taped vignettes. Another part of his game that has been strongly fortified in the past 5 years that I feel is over looked a lot when people judge wrestlers is look and aura. Tommy End looks like a tough guy that can and will kick someone’s face in with a certain charming sleaze that makes you look at him and think “I’d like to get a pint with that guy but, I better watch my wallet”. Star presence and aura is something very hard to teach or train someone to have and Tommy End at this point has it in spades. Tommy is also a very apt tag worker something that was even more on display in the past few months with his ability to work a similar role but with slight tweaks to fit his partner. Working with Michael Dante in “Sumerian Death Squad” End plays the role of the mastermind, experienced-assassin using Dante as his dumb muscle to help him even the odds or at times take an unfair advantage against other teams. Then with Chris Hero as “Heroes Eventually Die” End is the student studying under his mastering using his striking skills to set up his bigger, stronger, more experienced partner/trainer knocking out the competition with more finesse and brute strength.\ I find Tommy to be an amazing mix of pinpoint accuracy coming from years of training and focus on his art with wild punk inspired passion showing a controlled chaos and reckless abandon for the safety of others and himself. Tommy is without doubt my favorite current wrestlers to watch. I couldn’t imagine doing a GWE ballot and leaving him off even if he does end up in the bottom 50.

This needs to be a mystery titans theater I can't think of anything that deserves live commentary more

If his retirement today is real does that effect your ballot?

We talking about this year with Styles? I liked that moment alot, but c'mon no way it's even close to Flair in 1992. I actually meant a combination of both Punk and AJ, as in of course Flair is the best of all time but the idea that Punk and Styles are now in the conversations is shocking to me being that Flairs run is legendary and I thought would be forever untouchable with out a doubt home run best run from #3 of all time somehow now there are two others that can be thought of as in the conversation. -

Tax season, he's probably busy working on other stuff during the recordings, you don't become the 2nd wealthiest man in Alabama without multitasking. -
Pretty excited for the 1st Lions Gate show check out the card: Takumi Honjo vs. Shuhei Taniguchi Kawato Hirai & Teruaki Kanemitsu vs. Kaito Kiyomiya & Hitoshi Kumano David Finlay Jr. vs. Taiji Ishimori Jay White vs. Yoshinari Ogawa Manabu Nakanishi vs. Quiet Storm Satoshi Kojima & Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Genba Hirayanagi & Captain NOAH Juice Robinson vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima Yuji Nagata vs. Mitsuhiro Kitamiya As well as The New Beginning shows and Honor Rising seems like the next month in NJPW are going to be pretty interesting.

The Omega thing was meant more as joke poking fun at the situation, I knew that once NJPW started to push Omega ROH would be forced to grit and bear it when it came to bringing him back. I guess my point is that while a guy like AJ Styles is gone and theoretically Sinclair could afford to keep him ROH could not because Sinclair sets ROH's budget at what they do and ROH has to accept that. SBG is the company of it's size not from making bad decisions with their money and flooding ROH with capital would be pointless for their bottom line. The real issue isn't ROH is being out worked by NXT and Evolve in the money aspect but in the eye for talent aspect instead of worrying about who paid to come to their training camp and booking Punishment Martinez and Action Ortiz why not bring in guys like Gresham, Hollis, Mack, AR Fox, and Ricochet who are all proven to be good workers, have built in fan bases, and are currently in no danger of going to NXT or Evolve?

Steve now has the curse of picking the coolest intro song ever that people are going to constantly ask about it, he posted it in the thread for the last episode Thanks for posting the song. I wouldn't have guessed it being from Taiwan. Searching for lyrics "super show" in google was a really smart decision. Great minds think alike except I didn't think Pete would like the intro song being "Freak of the week"

1st half is fun super excited for the P-Dog vs Styles feud, maybe in NXT?

He was one of the few entertaining and exciting things left in the dying days of ECW even if at the time he wasn't completely polished he was a great Mortonesque baby face, obviously because he was trained by Morton but, he was so good at selling at getting just enough in that his hope spots kept his mini-feud with Mike Awesome believable that he could possible pull off a big win at anytime. It was very unfortunate that he came into wrestling at the tail end of WCW as one of his best early opponents EZ Money signed with WCW right as they went out of business and if they had gotten to show off their matches on a national stage it probably would have gotten over. Another huge issue he had was that he didn't fit in WWE well. Kid Kash was always a stand out even in TNA it's too bad that he didn't really come into his own as a well rounded wrestler until recently after he had already had chances in major companies and is probably realistically winding down his career.
-
That's the biggest thing, it feels like everyone is saying it but, it's so true that wrestling needs guys that are bigger stars than WWE it's self so they can feel special and actually draw in an audience.

Well i guess now there's an argument about best all time #3 rumble entrant -
See that's one of the issues I was trying to point out in my ackward statement I was unaware Equinox and Jimmy Olsen were the same guy stuff like that makes it hard for me to always know which Chikara home grown guys are in which gimmick at certain times thus making it hard to say over time who stands out as consistently performing at a high level so, the others who I said did well in other promotions what I mean to say is they stand out because they tend to then use the same gimmick adding up a easily perceived body of work.
-
I wouldn't pick Chikara because a lot of their home grown guys haven't done much as they are at times treated as interchangeable in the promotion and most of the guys that came in and made a name for themselves there went on to do the same in multiple other companies including WWE
-
CZW is known more by casual fans as well because of the popularity of death match tournaments (which can be seen as a detriment) and they have done tours with multiple companies both in America and internationally (WXW, BJW, and SMASH). Well there is no way that I can change your mind on that because we are I guess diametrically apposed in that opinion as I think that some wrestlers get more credit as a draw themselves when truly the business as a whole was hotter and had more possible reach so doesn't necessarily reflect on them but on culture at the time. Especially when "the failures of the wrestling business as a whole" can pretty easily be attributed to one man I find it quite disingenuous to say a guy like CM Punk should have his drawing power compared to Jerry Lawler because they worked with such different constants that what they do/did is barely recognizable as the same business. I don't disagree with you and clearly Wildside/Anarchy are better for the business as a whole but, both show a major blind spot in this process that I thought I could bring us to maybe lead some people to think about.
