This is undoubtedly true. As I've stated haven't watched raw in years so I heard kinda that some fans got kicked out for cosplaying old stars including one that with a bit of a currently strained relationship with WWE but, were later allowed back in and the Rock said what exactly?
-
I my reason to picking CZW is because they have consistently been in a #5-7 range of promotion in both exposure and name recognition yet their reputations is actually more of a hindrance to workers that gained notoriety while working there, I would also argue that Wildside and Anarchy never had the same national or international presence. The profile was bigger because the business was bigger I really think more people need to judge draw and start power based on scale for the time period the worker was in. Wrestlers from the 80s also have the benefit of people re-watching then having a chance to more fully process the work and nostalgia.

Is this the "Rock when off script" thing everyone was going ham about?

By strong case I mean he has always had very strong character work, he gets good heat, and has been consistently solid in-ring for years. TBH I don't know if I would vote for him or any of the others myself but my point is more that guys who had similar careers in the 70s or 80s would be nominated for sure. Tully Blanchard, Magnum TA, The Genius, Raven, and even Buddy Landell all have similar cases, my point is not to say BLK Jeez is as good or better than any of them just that they all come across as instant nominees while more modern workers seem to be over looked especially if they work primarily in unheralded promotion. And I mean The Barbarian is nominated.
-
Trent Acid, Nick Gage, Ruckus, Kingston, Drake Younger, Masada, and Zandig for impact/influence. If you combine blk out run Fabian and CZW champ Blk Jeez he had a strong case for being in the #80-95 range sorry your friends might be sensitive crackers, but seriously I think some of these death match adjacent guys might be getting over looked.
-
Is there a glaring lack of CZW wrestlers I can easily understand that it's not a goldmine of fantastic wrestling but, looking through the nominations and not seeing Blk Jeez makes me wonder if CZW workers are under represented?

I I liked his on screen work in ROH

That may come across more dismissive than intended basic house show match isn't a bad thing to me just not something I would praise so highly they had a fine match and they gave the crowd what they paid for which is their job as wrestlers. Part of what makes it house-showesque to me is Ciampa's UK scene tribute act that he has picked up since becoming a progress regular which he only uses in America on less visable shows. The match had gaga that I reiterate was fun and entertaining for the crowd but does nothing for me on tape. Fine match but I've seen better from both guys.
-
I've watched this match 3 or 4 times now due to the fact that I like both these guys and actually respect the opinion of people I have heard say it was good and I just can't get it, what am I missing this match seems like any basic house show match and I hear low end MOTYC praise being heaped upon it.

This is within Callihan's 1st 15 matches back on the indies in a company that he had good history with but, he still feels like he's not quite back in the full swing of things when it comes to the non-WWE style can't blame the guy, after what I've heard from interviews he's done since he left NXT, it sounds like Demott actually really fucked with his brain when it comes to his confidence. Not sure who was on commentary with Prazak but I am not a fan he blew calls and has that thing where is sounds like his mouth is full of saliva at times. Now for the actual work, it was pretty a good #1 contender match, Hero hasn't had anything that even comes close to resembling a bad match in the past 3 years and this was no exception. The crowd chants back and forth for both guys and Callihan starts it off hot with a running boot while Hero is being checked by the ref and an exploder for a quick 2 count Hero then answers back with big boot of his own this kind of trade off becomes the story of the match. It's just so obvious how much better Hero is at building tension in the match without the need to do a whole bunch Hero makes every shot count by his execution and even taking the time to sell his own hand after big punches while Callihan throws consecutive strikes using them to just set up dives and other big bombs I can't say he's 100% wrong he keeps the crowd engaged and get's good reactions to everything. During the match I just start to feel bad for Callihan because he's a great wrestler but too short and too ugly to have ever had a real shot in WWE, but, of course right after I think this he feels the need to hock a nasty loogie in his hand before giving Hero a running chop. Another negative is Callihan staggering the corner telling Hero to hit him in the face I'm not one of these people who thinks there is never a time or a place for this style of pissing contest I'm a tough guy posturing in wrestling but I don't like it in a situation where you are the smaller man going up against a guy that is constantly pushed as being one of the most devastating strikers with a history of getting wins off flash knock outs. Callihan uses a chair attacking the knee to get the upper hand felt out of place in this match and he then shows he understands the concept of milking a crowd reaction as he slowly works into a trailer hitch he continues to focus on the leg and he's finally starting to tell a cohesive story I just wish guys like Callihan could start matches with a strong narrative and not have to do what feels like a waste of time for the first 10 minutes. If you told me you thought the finishing stretch was over kill with too many big bombs and too many close kick outs I couldn't necessarily argue with you, this is just what wrestling is now and maybe even I enjoy the older school style nevertheless those days are gone and it's kind of pointless to opine this fact about every modern match. Hero does an amazing job of continuing to sell his leg and knee throughout. They both have good facials that make you feel like they have been in a real war and by this point they have. Callihan gives multiple running boots to finally put Hero away and in the pin that some might see as sloppy I see what was a nice subtle component that if Hero did kick out Callihan had him posed for his primary submission hold the stretch muffler. This was a fine match that was just epic enough to feel like something important was on the line but wasn't going to completely over shadow the rest of the card. 3 1/2*

It was a good episode actually but, it would have been nice if Ivelisse had some type of mech armor that she used
-
I can see why you would have an issue with that but the problem is that in MMA it is shown that these holds are instant tap outs so if they aren't treated the same it wrestling to a casual audience that will be seen as phony. The real problem isn't the way the hold are treated but the way the matches are worked if you watch any of the Kyle O'Reilly vs Adam Cole they do a good job of showing how "pro-wrestling" style can be used to combat MMA style and not look like if you know any jujitsu you'll make short work of any wrestler but, unfortunately it's not always done so well
-
That's exactly my point as in it's just a fact of life so why would someone take issue with it being pushed as fact in a wrestling context?
-
How do you feel about the trope of MMA moves are super effective in real life?

Oh fuck this should awesome! How many times will JBL reference Tim Hortons? -
I've gone to every PWG show for the past 4 years so I've watched all those show in one sitting obviously live is a different animal I only had an issue once where I actually left after Hero vs O'Reilly as I felt that match was so good that it could in no way be followed (I still consider it in my top 10 of all time matches) but, of course after was the much heralded guerrilla warfare Bucks vs WCTT. Now after that digression as a long time fan of PWG I see the real issue they have now is that for the first time in the companies history rather than booking what they want, when they want, because they want they are actually behind the trends and trying to keep up with what's "hot" and it's caused them to lose focus. PWG now is trying to be the "dream promotion" that it use to just be.

For a less purely aesthetic body I'd say Daisuke Sekimoto is build to be the ultimate wrestler he has the power and speed to do almost anything in the ring. He is also intimidating.

Most people really don't understand this, I use to host a show that at times had a panel of 7-8 people it could easily get out of control if you don't keep everyone in line as much as possible and that was in person over skype it has to be nearly unbearable. I'm actually surprised you don't cuss people out more often or just kick people off the call which I don't think you've every done that which makes you a saint in my book -
Maybe, and hear me out on this one, they could have a "kissing cousins" match wherein if Bex can beat Charlotte Ric has to kiss Arn. I guess it could also just be called a "gay panic" match
-
I'm inclined to agree with you but, at times Swagger gotten really good reactions from the crowd though not frequently enough that it should be a major concern. A problem though seems to be arising for this type of booking in that any guy that is seen as not being pushed by mgmt seems to start to get a rally from the fans as it only takes a "few smarks" to start a chant and then it becomes the cool thing to do.

Kenny Omega was at his peak bodywise a few months back he still looks good now but, not as shredded.

Brian Cage every day since 2013

It is absolutely Breeze he was the MVP of NXT for 3 years always delivered in ring and keeps himself over after a loss with great promos. Other possibilities are Tyson Kiss when he gets back and coincidentally Samoa Joe.
