I'm going to miss this show greatly
-
I was thinking about it last night as Bate celebrated his win that it doesn't make sense for WWE to not have him hit the ground running as he's already pretty over and fits a lot of what they want then I remembered they rushed into this with no real plan which will hurt any chance of these guys getting pushed while they still have momentum. I think it would be great if they just worry about the weekly show stuff later and just brought in at least the big 5 guys from #UKCT it's not like they can't find a lot more talent guys in the UK scene for the weekly show if need be later.

Shotzi's hair isn't the only thing about her that is green but, you are correct her charisma and work ethic is going to take her far she already got put on the main show based on her work at the 1st Rise seminar and now will seemingly be used regularly for the company most likely leading to a roster spot with Shimmer. I've seen her a few times live now & seen her in attendance for a lot of wrestling shows in CA she's really working hard and I think it will pay off for her sooner rather than later. Thunder on the other hand I can take of leave but she seems to just keep getting opportunities

JvK reviews pimped matches from late 90s-10s
Luchaundead replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Megathread archive
I'm very suprised by this rating for Skylar v Trevor as I say Skylar as a real stand out star presence wise here Trevor was about as good as I'd even seen him as well even if I do at times like him more a overbearing bully The Breaks/WoS stuff being called sloppy doesn't seem insanely far off but didn't effect the matches quality for me in the slightest But still I enjoy reading your review as it can't be all sunshine and rainbows for CWF -

I am aware that is why on 2nd and 3rd view those live takes seem even more glaringly incorrect especially for North American fans that were probably up at an insane hour watching the show it's very very understandable but I think if you consider yourself a serious wrestling fan it's important to at times to acknowledge and accept your short coming in these situations and reevaluate a match when you have your full mental faculties -

We'll Do It Live: CWF Mid-Atlantic
Luchaundead replied to Luchaundead's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I had fantastic source material here but thanks none the less this is a project I'm pretty passionate about so I hope I'm able to keep it up -
http://placetobenation.com/well-do-it-live-cwf-mid-atlantic/ So I'm working on a new project here it may or may not be very regular but it's an important topic to me personal focusing on live wrestling shows. I love to give people the chance to understand something they may never experience themselves as we all can't make towns like Papa Hales so on We'll Do It Live I plan to talk to different people about the live experience of a wrestling show more than just the matches but the crowd, the building, the friends, the bathrooms, the concessions, the area the building is in, and the intangibles that transform wrestling from being a show to feeling like home.

We share 4 matches, and 2 more from your list are in my top 15. Back to the drawing board Pete

Attainable goals: Log and star rate every match I watch in 2017 Go to G1 show in LBC Go to more shows Stretch goals: Go to a show with Papa Hales Watch more lucha so I can properly bury it

Psychology is Dead Master Thread
Luchaundead replied to Quentin Skinner's topic in Publications and Podcasts
It's funny I am getting quite a bit of flack based on this stance because of this podcast. Don't worry I'm not implying that you asking is annoying or even like you're giving me trouble I just find it interesting. So my stance has always been the same if you notice on TWIW I prefer not to give * rating to matches that I know are edited. I've noticed quite often WWE will edit the heat of put it during a commercial break the problem there is that now the emotion investment won't be there in the match for me. In general I know that matches can be editing to really change what they were live. I may lax my opinion in time especially for things that are clipped intentional to fit the story being presented rather that just clipped for time. So I basically extend this stance on matches to the wrestlers in the matches as well, Lucha Underground was only a feather in the cap for 2 workers Cobb & Ricochet but in no way was it their main case I could see LU being a major part of the case for my placement of Rey Mysterio he also had great performances outside of LU that were a big part of his placement as well. -
Even with the show now clocking in usually at around an hour it really breezes by and has a nice uniformed tone I'm loving the NWA on Demand shows

Why does puro get so much love? Why does lucha get so dismissed?
Luchaundead replied to Grimmas's topic in Pro Wrestling
Puro is based more on the same concepts as American wrestling so for me it's easier to get behind the emotions and story of the matches more based on competition and sport. I like to watch combat sports but, person experience in team sports so I can relate to the idea that you are trying to best an opponent. Having felt the feeling that another team or competitor is taking an unfair advantage by bending the rules I understand the anger you get at heels who do the same in a worked environment. Lucha on the other hand as always seems foreign to me even though I grew up in Southern California in heavy Mexican communities heck even I am part Mexican I just could never understand what they are doing in there. One day pretty recently (with in two years) I read something touted as the "Rules of Lucha" and when I got that the concept of the match is to out macho your competition based on your role in the match that's when it all clicked to me. Not in the a-ha now I get it and enjoy it way but in the oh now I know why I can't relate to this. Lucha goes against my very core as a person. I despise overly egotistical people the concept of reproduction at times feels arrogant to me I don't understand how people do it, I see it as people saying "I'm so important the world can't go on with out my genes being around at least one more generation". I cannot in anyway relate to the idea that you are in a fight even with some basic built in so let's call it a competition or a sport and you are thinking more about showing off than just winning based on your talent and skill. This is why I believe lucha is not as popular in America, it was said "America is great because she is good..." This idea that we value sportsmanship, humility, focus, and determination played a pivotal role in the designation of heels and babyfaces even in wrestling heels should show a disregard for this values while babyfaces embrace them . There probably is an argument that we are at a time where America was ceased to be good so maybe it's time now that lucha could break through but, I think this is why it hasn't to this point be a very popular style to American fans. -
Where did you get that number? Fujiwara. I died

Can't wait for episode 2 -
I'll get you time stamps from here on out new computer so once I'm more use to it I will save time on editing it's just been a learning curve the past couple weeks so I haven't had the extra time

Brad as we were talking about it kind of remembered that Page won that be it really felt like at an after thought as in that didn't feel at all like him "winning the big one" I agree with you on Pretty Boy Killers but it's still tough as they have set such a high bar it's hard to now have them just be a normal tag team.

Seems like a decent place to post it I guess former ROH talent Colby Corino is going to the NJPW DOJO to train should be interesting
