http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/2/ #21 This would be my US MOTD. It's one of my favorite matches of all-time, and sometimes I say it is my favorite. It is definitely my favorite multi-man match ever. So much has been said, there's not much to add. I love this one. *****. I'll add that this ended up being the highest ranked US match on this countdown by Loss. My three favorite WCW matches of the 90's took place in 1992. Sting/Vader Starrcade 92 & Steamboat/Rude from Beach Blast being the other two.

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/2/ #23 This is the most I've enjoyed an M-Pro match to date. I don't think this style of match would reach a favorites list for me personally, but I totally get the appeal. This match felt more violent too. There was some edge to it that I haven't seen in some of the other M-Pro I've seen. I think the more M-Pro I watch, the more I'll end up appreciating this match in the long run.

[1990-09-01-AJPW-Summer Action Series II] Mitsuharu Misawa vs Jumbo Tsuruta
JKWebb replied to Loss's topic in September 1990
http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/2/ #24 A favorite match and moment, and a true classic. ***** This ended up being my #2 match of the year (only behind 12/14/90 Dandy/Satanico). Although, I'll end up watching this one more over time. I love Jumbo in this match. Lots of emotion and a great story. I love the closing moments as drew discussed above.- 22 replies

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/2/ #25 Absolutely blown away. This is my my new favorite discovery from this countdown so far. Casas was fantastic as the heel in the first portion, then when it gets down to Dandy and Santo, it's incredible. El Dandy was fantastic selling the leg for Casas, then Santo, and the pain looked excruciating when Santo had his submissions locked in. ***** I loved this one.

[1992-10-21-AJPW-October Giant Series] Mitsuharu Misawa vs Toshiaki Kawada
JKWebb replied to Loss's topic in October 1992
http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #26 This was great, but for me it didn't blow anything out of the water that has been in this area of the Top Matches of the 90's on the list created by Loss. I'd have it around the **** to ****1/4 range for me as well. I loved the left arm work by Kawada, and the finishing stretch as well. A great match that didn't hit MOTYC for me, however I still loved it. The match of theirs coming up on this list is one of my favorites of all-time. ***Coming back to this to add that I watched this again on 09/16/2018 while going through the 1992 YB. Even though I thought it was great when I watched it about a year and a half ago, I do think I enjoyed it even more this time around. I'm a little higher on it than I was then. I think it probably has to do with watching it amongst the top 500 of the 90's vs. in context within 1992. Excellent bout!- 19 replies

[1993-08-31-AJPW-Summer Action Series II] Steve Williams vs Kenta Kobashi
JKWebb replied to Loss's topic in August 1993
http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #27 Epic battle of two big dudes. I love the crawling and stumbling around the ring after the second Suplex, but I also probably would have liked it even more had that been on the first one and the second one ended it. Overall, not a big deal to me. The match is awesome. ****1/2- 15 replies

[1997-03-23-WWF-Wrestlemania XIII] Bret Hart vs Steve Austin (I Quit)
JKWebb replied to Loss's topic in March 1997
http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #28 I agree with Loss. This is the top WWF match of the 90's. I've watched this countless times. I enjoyed it just as much tonight as I have for almost 20 years now. ***** -
[1993-02-28-AJPW-Excite Series] Stan Hansen vs Toshiaki Kawada
JKWebb replied to Loss's topic in February 1993
#29 http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ I love this match. It was great to come back to it today. Hansen is a wrecking ball and a selling machine in this thing. One of the things I love, actually happens twice. Kawada kicks the knee of Hansen, and he doesn't have enough strength for anything but to just jump at Kawada with a shoulder block. It looks awesome (both times). Amazing brawl. I think in part what puts it over as such a classic match, is exactly what Jetlag said... really everything here looks like it could be a potential KO. It's so intense and brutal. *****- 28 replies

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #31 Definitely my match of the month in June of 1990. Really enjoyed it when I ran across it on the set. Microstatistics really nailed a good summary there. I wasn't as high on it as some, but I think this is a great match and classic. It just wouldn't be a GOATC for me personally. ****3/4. My match of the year ended up being Dandy/Satanico from 12/14/90. I think with this match, I was feeling what Sleeze said about the style your prefer as a fan. I can see why this would be a GOATC for others.

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #33 Of course I love Kobashi's selling of the knee, and then there's the hot tag to Misawa. He was so fired up. Great match. Loved the Misawa/Kawada stuff as well. ****1/2 for me.

#35 - placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ I love how Samurai starts this off. He's going for the mask, he's hitting him with objects, he doesn't care what the ref says, he's out for blood. Might as well hit a piledriver on the outside and ask the crowd what's up. You get a second piledriver, then back to the mask. I really dig the heelish antics of Samurai in this bout. He really lays it in on Liger for about the first 10 minutes. Once Liger gets the upper hand, he eventually rips the majority of the mask off and gets in some great offense on Samurai. You really can feel the hate. There's one spot I love, where Liger is working a facelock or chinlock and decides to quit and just slam the head of Samurai on the ground (followed by multiple strikes in the corner). I'm still a bigger fan of the 01/90 Sano match, which remains my favorite Liger match to date (and I have that one at ***** for me). But, this is a great match. ****1/2ish to me.

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #136 I thought this was good, but i didn't like it as much as everyone else. It was very stiff, and they beat the crap out of each other ... but I just didn't find it very interesting. I was falling in and out of it. I agree that it was likely one dragon Suplex too many... it lost its impact for me... just felt excessive. It was probably pretty painful but not needed all at the same time. I thought the commentary was sort of drag, even though I couldn't understand anything they were saying. It just sounded like they weren't interested.

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #37 This was definitely entertaining, and had lots of the spots looked great. Tons action, but like Zenjo I didn't feel a HUGE emotional connection to it. That said, I was still sucked in to all that was going on and really enjoyed the finishing stretch. ****1/4ish for me? I want to come back to this one in a more linear fashion.

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #41 I'm with Jetlag on this one. I thought the opening 10 minutes or so was fine, but I didn't see or feel any struggle. I see others found it very engaging, so maybe there was disconnect of some kind. Maybe out of context it's harder to connect, so it will be interesting when I return through the 91 YB to see if my opinion changes. I do like the matches garretta mentioned better, but I did think this really picked up after the opening. This is definitely a great match, but it just didn't hit me in the face as an all-time classic. I'll be back.

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #42 I loved this. It's worked with a sense of urgency, and everything is hit with such precision. This seemed really stiff too. Casas, Santo, and Satanico really stood out. Those knees from Santo to Casas were tremendous towards the end. The beginning didn't feel slow to me... I guess because I felt like everything was hit with high impact. ****1/2

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #44 This was great. I actually really liked the finish. All the big dramatic striking that led to the finishing shotei looked awesome. I prefer the Sano match(es) that are great to this one, and HBK/Mankind - only mentioning because they were compared above. But, anyway... fantastic ... around ****1/4 to ****1/2 for me.

[1996-09-22-WWF-Mind Games] Shawn Michaels vs Mankind
JKWebb replied to Loss's topic in September 1996
http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #45 I believe this to be: -Mick Foley's best match -HBK's greatest offensive performance (and second best singles match - only behind HIAC) -My personal favorite delivery of Sweet Chin Music I didn't think Shawn's punches looked weak at all and I thought his attack on the claw hand looked prettty damn painful, so I guess I disagree with those comments. This match is brutal as shit. I agree with all the positive things said about this match. MOTYC and WWF MOTD candidate. I thought all the punches and elbows were worked super stiff. Awesome match ****3/4 to *****. DQ finish was not an issue. I wanted to come back and note that Loss ranked this #2 for WWF in the 90's (only behind Hart/Austin WM XIII). The HIAC HBK/Taker was #3. I'd agree with those being in the top three to four, with Macho/Warrior added in for a total of top four. I'm not sure what order I'd have them in yet, other than Austin/Hart would be my #1 as well.- 38 replies

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #46 Watched this one not too long ago while going through 1990. Even though it was long, I remember thinking they cut an incredible pace. Taue was awesome. I've said it before, but I'll say it again, there just aren't many wrestlers that touch Jumbo in a tag setting.

[1993-11-26-AAA] El Satanico vs Pirata Morgan (Hair vs Hair)
JKWebb replied to Loss's topic in November 1993
http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-50-1/ #49 This is possibly my favorite discovery from this countdown so far (top 2 to 3 for sure). I had not seen this before, and I really loved it. Satanico is the man. His beatdown of Morgan to start this off got me fired up. Then, his incredible performance from savage offense to wonderful selling and dramatic facial expressions.... just great stuff. I actually loved how "stripped down" it was personally. Knowing they had a history ... I felt it got over the dislike of each other even more. ****3/4- 8 replies

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-100-51/2/ #52 I could never get into this match as much as others seem to have as a kid. I was totally all about the ladder match. In my head, even though he won, I just never saw Owen at Bret's level (as a kid). So, the Austin matches did stand out to me more. As I got older, I was able to appreciate this so much more. I still prefer the Austin matches, but this is a a true classic all-timer WWF match. So much has already been said about it. I still have more of a nostalgia love for the ladder match. I know I'm odd man out there, but I'm a big nostalgia guy. It's just awesome these two brothers got to have this moment on this stage. Incredible.

Randy Savage vs. Bret Hart from SNME on 11/28/1987 is one of my favorites. Great Bockwinkel pick vs. Rick Martel on 09/20/1984. I too love that Shawn Michaels performance from 11/16/2003 and his from 08/30/86 in the tag vs. Somers & Rose (well, and the first HIAC).

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-100-51/2/ #55 Most everything has been discussed, but I'll add that I think this is one of the best matches I've ever seen. It's between this and War Games 1992 for WCW MOTD for me. Like some, I'd even put this over Flair/Steamboat @ WrestleWar, but not over Clash 6 or Chi-Town. Off the top of my head ... it's top 5 or 6 NWA/JCP/WCW (ever) for me... I'd have to think about it. *****

[1996-11-17-WWF-Survivor Series] Bret Hart vs Steve Austin
JKWebb replied to a topic in November 1996
http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-100-51/2/ #56 I love this match. I had a really good time revisiting it tonight (2017). I love when they start trading punches after Austin has been dominating so much of the match. Bret was selling so well, then his comeback kicks in, and they are throwing bombs. I also love the way Hart takes the stunner and sells the aftermath. It makes it look more painful than stunning with him grabbing his mouth. It's a nice touch. It adds value to the jawbreaker reversal Austin hits him with later. (2020): This is in the argument for US MOTY in 1996, & I think it might be.- 18 replies

http://placetobenation.com/countdown-top-500-matches-of-the-90s-100-51/2/ #63 Woah, I was surprised to see this hit on the countdown already. This is one of my favorite matches of all-time. It easily hits ***** for me. I was glad to throw this on tonight. Hansen's selling in this match is phenomenonal and the lariat at the end is possibly the greatest in history. This climbed my all-time favorite list tonight, and would definitely be in my top 5 or so of the 90s. I'll see how that shakes out as I continue this countdown.
