CM Punk has overdelivered. To see him cut a scathing promo on a heel Cena is wild as shit.

I think they tried really hard to make Cody bleed, with two stiff title hits, but it just wasn't flowing like they wanted. But hey, to me everything worked to turn it into a memorable, top tier segment. Maybe Travis Scott is there as a guest verse for Cena's heel song? -

I mean kudos to him being able to look like two completely different people just by acting. Incredible angle. -

Rollins trying to square off with Punk and Cena just shows how leagues below both of them he is. -

Heel KO is just not it, and a program with Zayn has been done to death. -
I dunno. He is essentially AJ Styles Jr. in my eyes (at least early 00s AJ) so it's not like he can't flourish on the main roster.

Keep on watching, bubba. A huge amount of things we consume are made by absolute scumbags - even very empathetic, beautifully written things, like Sandman. You know what are your stances and principles, as well as what piece of entertainment resonate with you more.
-
Man, I miss Mojo. Nothing stellar in the ring or in the mic but he always had some type of energy that really resonated with me. Good to know he's doing well.

Yeah I don't get the negativity towards Jey either. He has had an absurd run as a tag wrestler (Usos vs KO/Sami was like, two years ago?) so we KNOW he's a good wrestler. He has had great segments as a singles wrestler, both in sérios and funny tones. People just like that guy and WWE is giving them what they like. How is that a bad thing?
-
I don't think re-using the Sami/GUNTHER dynamic for Jey/GUNTHER is a bad thing. Big Gooner is just that type of heel in which the face has to try again and again and again to overcome and it ends up working. Chad Gable had the run of his life going against him, Sami became one of the top babyfaces (and his title win is still an all timer), Cody beating him at the Rumble match was great... he's just one of the greatest ever at that type of role.

Rumble winner Jey Uso. What a year. Also no shit the biggest Ric Flair fanboy ever would book Charlotte to win after who knows how long she's been absent.
-
Claudio was a good heel with The Bar, so I don't think that's the issue. Also, I got the impression they telegraphed Ospreay turning on Omega with that Callis Family beat down, which would fucking suck as the company needs top faces. If it was just awkward execution, then it's okay.

Not exactly a shocker, to be honest. Should AEW pivot from the Death Riders angle? It reminds me so much of that time in WWE where IIRC Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman were standing tall at the end of every single fucking episode of RAW around 2016 to 2017. It was the worst. They could just have Hobbs steamroll the shit outta Mox, but I fear they are going to drag out this feud with Cope a bit longer.

Britt is over with fans, yes, but if she has been causing trouble backstage and essentially is the least liked person on your roster, is it really worth it? Is she selling enough merch or leading to an increase in PPV buys that offsets the trouble of trying to mend fences or working around those relationships? If the answer is "no", then probably releasing her is the right move. I won't even criticize her in-ring abilities, but in terms of physicality I do remember she returning lower from that long time off she had. She maximized everything she could from the first few years in the company, so it might be time to go before she becomes as infamous as Tessa.

Jey Uso being popular as a singles wrestler is just another feather in the cap for Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn. You just couldn't pull that off without the former making Jey look like the best possible underdog, and the latter developing a funny and charming friendship with him.
-
I find it very symbolic that MJF had another stinker of a promo on the same show Joe comes back.
-
The thing with Britt is that I can see her working well with Nia as her muscle, but other than that... I just don't see her doing anything better than Chelsea, for instance. I also don't want to imagine Baker and Flair butting heads and leading to years of discourse.

All I know is that Tiffy is the god damn champion. You'd think she was Stone Cold with that pop.

Bryan Danielson's historical importance

I'd even argue that in terms of shaping how wrestlers tackled in-ring action, Amazing Red and Low Ki were bigger influences. To keep bubba @Jmare007's cinema comparisons: Joss Whedon's not really the greatest writer ever, but his work on Buffy shaped how characters talked, specially when he made the jump to the MCU. -
It's almost 2025 bubba we need to stop this. We GOTTA STOP! I'm looking forward to more CM Punk/Roman interactions. With Phil losing, of course.

10 years in their run and they finally found a way to have a New Day turn happen in a way that makes sense and is narratively satisfactory.

CM Punk is the Fifth member! Kick his ass Roman!
