Will they use any of these potential new trainees to pad out the rumble?
-
You know, it may seem like an anecdote in the grand scheme of things, but really, to me it's the most visible, offensive stuff of the night thus far. He showed up with the LGBT community at Mania and here we are in a country where LGBT are *no right* and the same guy is showing up with plain black trunks. Everything you need to know about this show is in this picture right there. It is that it is so transparent is the most glaring aspect of it. His gimmick basically has been inclusiveness Balor club is for everyone and all that. But here he is out doing his normal stuff just without his LGBTQ+ symbols still smiling like a goof.

So I went to make dinner about 45 minutes ago and looking through this thread i Missed some weird shit, I am assuming it was a glorious display of propaganda to match up with their Americana bullshit they do at the tribute to the troops shows.
-
Well if that was the main event of a houseshow I went to I would not have left too angry, it was complete nothing with obviously no care put into it. Just Blah

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4

The site is back now, at least on mobile it is not working on my laptop -
Large portions of the crowd sat down after the Saudi anthem finished and the USA one began, Taker gonna be pissed.

I wonder how many rumble records they will break tonight, such as most eliminations or longest time in a rumble. They can do the later without having somebody go from 1 to win as they would have to in a normal rumble.

Is this video package the only buildup this match has had? Most of it seemed to be made of promos from at least ten years ago.

The fuck is up with those random words on the screen in the Miz promo, it is like a tacky youtube vlog channel.

The Kickoff is now underway

[2018-04-15-AJPW-Champion Carnival] Jun Akiyama vs Suwama
Richeyedwards replied to ShittyLittleBoots's topic in April 2018
It was violent and hateful. This brawl felt visceral and chaotic without being confusing or boring as they so often can. It was not a top tier Brawl but was something different from the usual thing you expect in a puro round Robbin tourny. Here there were plenty of strike exchanges but they were interesting and felt like they meant something unlike every single mind numbing Ishii strike exchange in NJPW. The finish was well done with suwama angrily choking out Akiyama, loved this **** -
Jun Akiyama is a wrestling god. As a match built up as two leaders of their companies with intertwining history over Akiyama leaving noah in 2012 (and there many interactions prior) this had some expectations, and I am glad to say they met them. Marufuji as a heavyweight has always been something that is problematic he is way to small and much of his offense is jr rubbish and his selling in 'epics' can be poor to say the least. BUT sometimes this can work really well and it did just that here. His cockiness and speed vs Akiyama's size and general grumpiness was amazing, the crowd was molten and Akiyama wrestled like a man possessed showing yet again why he is a top ten all time talent even in his late 40s. It felt big before the match began and in the opening exchanges with Akiyama schooling Maru on the mat but from the point where it changed into Akiyama brawling and throwing maru around ringside and kneeing him into oblivion this became something really special. Maru was great as a pinball but this was all Akiyama as by the end the whole crowd was with him and wanted him in the cc final again. This is up there with Zeus vs Joe and Almas vs Gargano as MOTY so far and probably the best performance of the year by Akiyama ****1/2
-
Akiyama vs Maru was great, Maru still had some of his usual issues with his offense varying wildly between really still and really silly looking, Akiyama however was amazing, he was wrestleing like a man possessed. He has shown in this tourny between his matches with Maru, Zeus, Yoshie and James has shown he can wrestle really good to great matches with a variety of opponents. I would love to see him return to the singles ranks again.

Yeah I only got to see the top two matches today, both of them featured members of big guns with leg injuries bodyguard put in a decent babyface performance. I think zeus was just covering up his leg supports but he was not moving as gingerly as he was in lets say the suwama match on day one.
-
Jun Vs suwama was great, it was a uncoprative brawl and it ruled.
