  1. Are the Saudi's buying wwe? Or at least a stake in it?
  2. Is Steph going to be there? Or will she be absent like I assume the rest of the woman's division.
  3. There are a few matches that I think he gave five that I think are not just overrated but absolutely awful: kyoko Inoue vs manami toyota from may 1995 the 60 minute match, i watched it once several years ago and it is right up there as maybe the match i want to see again least. Davey Richards vs Micheal elgin golden lovers vs young bucks, ospreay vs kushida from botsj last year then there are a few matches that i don't think were awful but were certainly no way near ***** Okada vs tanahashi from wk 10 which has a truly woeful performance from okada in which he has his leg worked on for the majority of the match only to no sell it completely by making a comeback consisting of nothing but running dropkicks and then a coast to coast dropkick and from then on he does not sell it apart the most lazy of selling hitting his leg a bit every-so often before doing a running move. However he even manages to fuck up this excuse for selling as he starts hitting THE WRONG LEG not the one that had been worked over. Add to that his usual boring work on top, shit offense and lack of fire in anything and you have one of the worst "great match" performances I have ever seen. Tana works like a man possessed in the match bumping like mad and trying to put okada over as much as he can but it really still sucks. Honma vs ishii from 2015 it was really boring repetitive crap. And the aforementioned ladder match from nxt
  4. I have always got that on this site, but recently I have certainly seem an increase over the last couple of weeks. I will usually just press the retry for live version and that work.
  5. Day four: Tatsu beats Kai in 13 mins with his new finisher the 'codebreaker from Jericho' Suwama beat Yoshie in 10 mins Hino beat doreing in 8 mins and has now pinned two former triple crown champs. Zeus pinned Dylan James in 5 minutes with a lariat in a match that Zeus was moving around gingerly in. Day 5: Akiyama beat yoshie in 11 minutes Nomura beats the bodyguard in ten mins Marufuji pinned Dylan James in 5 minutes, his longest match of he tourny so far. In an undercard iwamoto announced his intention to challenge for the jr title belt. At the end of five days the standings are: A block: Hino 2-0 4 points Miyahara 1-1 2 points Shuji ishikawa 1-1 2 points Nomura 1-1 2 points Shingo is 1-0 2 points Doreing is 0-2 0 points Bodyguard is 0-2 0 points Sai is yet to wrestle B block: Akiyama 3-0 6 points Marufuji 2-0 4 points Zeus 2-1 4 points Suwama 2-1 4 points Dylan James 2-2 4 points Yoshi tatsu 1-2 2 points Kai 0-3 0 points Yutuka yoshie 0-3 0 points
  6. Well forget rusev vs taker being a fun sprint because it is apparently taker Vs Jericho now. https://www.wwe.com/amp/shows/greatest-royal-rumble/2018/undertaker-chris-jericho Edit: well timed winged eagle
  7. Not Misawa? in 95 vs taue cc final and then the 6/9/95 tag, or kobashi with the 93 hansen and then world tag league final, hell I would argue that kobashi could have 3 in 98 vs kawada vs akiyama and vs misawa.
  8. Something I love about heel nakamura is the odd way he does low blows, they are like firemans carry low blows. Also his shit-eating grin was perfect during both the promo and the postmatch.
  9. I think with the usos at this point them vs new day needs to go on hold for a long time, they need to be on different shows, They wrestled a bunch in the summer in some really great matches but since the supposed feud ender at hell in a cell they have wrestled twice more as far as i can remember and both of them they just did a finishing stretch straight away for ten mins both times, there was none of the structure that the summerslam or even battleground matches had, the battleground match was only a little longer than the recent two but it had far more structure to it. The last two times the teams have met they just seem to have no ideas when it comes to the match other than lets just do a million moves/superkicks. Maybe with the not so certain face heel divide maybe they don't want to do heat segments as they may come across as heels.
  10. I've been wondering about this. If they actually work the GREATEST ROYAL RUMBLE EVER like a Royal Rumble, you're talking over 90 minutes for that match alone, closer to 2 hours if its not rushed (which it will be). Going to be a late Friday night. So 90 minutes at the least for the rumble plus 7 title matches, I assume that they will not go long for any of them but even then it is going to have to be at least 10 mins for the main titles. Add in all the entrances and video packages, rusev vs taker and hhh vs cena this show is going to be very long. Mania had 11 matches and went a bit over five hours for the main show, so far i think this has 10 matches and one of them has to go something like 90 even if they do 60 second intervals. This show may be as long if not probably longer than mania we also do not know what sort of special events/ceremonies they may do in the show that might take it longer still. This show, the politics of it the booking of lesnar vs reigns all looks like an dreadful mess but one that I am morbidly curious about.
  11. Day three is now up, a small note that I hope becomes a story of this carnival is that akiyama has won both his matches via flashpin/reversal which I think is nice. It establishes that you don't need a million big moves to put someone down even if you have them in your arsenal and it also shows that akiyama is a wily veteran who could win at any moment.
  12. This was a really good TV main event, and a shorter more condensed version of a big match between the two. They went out there and had a simple match not busting out anything big outside of the forearm plancha. A little limb work that was sold well and most importantly consistently, it was never ignored or sold like death it was sold pretty much the same by Bryan throughout. The nak ending was very much expected and was the correct way to go as this match had no buildup and neither should beat the other yet. ***3/4 would love to see these two go 20-25 on a big show could be amazing.
  13. Lashley is certainly not a long term solution either he is 41 now.
  14. Part of my deciding to attend live this year was KNOWING it was going to be his moment, so I was pretty bummed when he lost.On another note, I just finished listening to the reaction show with Zellner and Dem Hales Boys and they had been talking about all kinds of backstage machinations that had possibly taken place before the match. Has any of that been fleshed out further yet? Dave Meltzer said that backstage almost no one knew that Lesnar was going to win. The referee was only told so once he was in the ring. Kris mentioned the idea of Brock sort of hint hint refusing to do the job prior to the match. I wonder why then, if Brock got what he wanted, he supposedly had such a confrontation with Vince afterwards. And how much of this is working the boys bs? I always feel that that's a factor when it comes to Brock. to Yeah, that was my first impression when I was hearing this stuff. They tried too hard to work people when they leaked out the UFC news and it derailed the match even more than it already would have. There were "you both suck" chants very early in the match where I was sitting. Those chants were loud enough to come across on tv. I think the other ones were this is awful, boring and cm punk, there might have been others but those were the ones i remember there was also some cheering every so often which i assume was for a beachball.
  15. With the title match being a cage match that means that roman could win the title without pinning brock, that in my book would be even worse as he gets destroyed at mania gets a rematch for no reason and then wins without beating the champ. But if roman looses he again looks bad, this match is lose lose is it not?
  16. I'm pretty sure we'll get a few more. I feel like Almas/Vega still need to let Gargano get his win back, and probably put over Black again, but they may still come up. Sanity's another possibility, and maybe the Iconic Duo. That's just idle speculation though. Almas may just do one more set of tapings where he puts over black/gargano or both then comes up.
  17. I Guess it speaks volumes about this match that it did not have a entry in the match discussion archive. I recently watched aj vs nak from wrestle kingdom recently and while I was certainly not the biggest fan of that match the first time it was still very good, 3.5-3.75 level. But the major difference between that match and this was the shocking difference in Nakamura, I have not watched much of his wwe run but has he always been this boring? In the wk match there was a glint in his eye and a real sense of danger in the way he worked, here he was a character and some silly hand movements, there felt like there was no substance to him. He was often going through the motions in NJPW and even when he was on he was never my favorite but there was some intangible charisma that even though i did always not love his work i could not take my eyes off of him. Here he was soooo dull. Add on top of this the crowd that was out of it after Ronda, taker and Bryan and by the show being so long that this may have been one of the matches with the least reaction on the show even though they were shitting all over it the main event got more of a reaction. I guess the work was fine but it was nothing more than that, Nakamura had better improve as a heel because otherwise this was a complete and abject failure of him as a character. They started well enough but then just went so slow and just finished it felt like nothing and there was barely any connection for me at least. Nakamura's entrance and the incredibly over the top ball shot were easily the two best moments. **3/4 AJ Styles had a far better match with Shane fucking McMahon than he did with Nakamura.
  18. Results for day 2 Zeus defeated Yoshi tatsu in 15 mins Zeus is now 2-0 Tatsu 0-1 Suwama pinned Kai in 13 mins and is now 1-1 while Kai is 0-1 Ishikawa pinned Doering in 12 mins to go 1-1, Joe is 0-1 Kento pinned Nomura is 17 mins to go 1-1 Nomura is 0-1. Day three happened today Dylan James beat yoshie to go 1-1 yoshie is 0-1 Joe beat bodyguard to go 1-1 bodyguard is 0-1 Marufuji had his first cc show and won Vs tatsu to go 1-0 tatsu is 0-2 In the main event akiyama beat Kai to go 2-0 and Kai is now 0-2. Day two is currently up on ajpw tv while day three should be up tonight or tomorrow morning.
  19. Why a cage? Has Brock been running away? No infact he dominated and beat Roman with little fight from Roman so why that stip? Or is it a way for Roman to win without Brock being pinned? Edit: also on what grounds does reigns deserve a rematch he was beaten and has no excuse.
  20. It may have been a decision made on the day as I think was the case with the Rollins cash in at mania 31. I seem to remember the anoa'i family being a little pissed about that match as they all thought Roman was winning.
  21. I would rather the big head mode cheat, also known as the Boris Zhukov
  22. I completely forgot that absolution existed so Sonya is a possibility, maybe a tag match with Ronda and a partner.
  23. I would love for it to be Becky she is great and could take her to something really good, but in the condition she is right now as you say would anyone care would anyone think she could win? It could happen in the future if becky is built up but the problem is right now there is nobody ready. The more I think about it Alexa seems the most likely next program
  24. Based on the finish of Asuka vs Charlotte they have to be building to Ronda vs Charlotte maybe to main event mania next year. But that is a whole year away, if they do it then up until then who is there for her to face, Asuka? nobody else is a big deal on the roster Bayley isn't neither is Sasha Becky is deader than dead. Alexa? maybe. The only two who are positioned on that level are Charlotte and Asuka but it is too soon for that if she is going to be the on the road member of the roster she has said she wanted to.
