Yeah, probably because it's not something shameful or scandalous or that reflects negatively in any way on the person, but is still a major part of the legend of Bruno over the last several years and it was brought up as an aside among many nice tributes during the day due to being repeated verbatim in nearly every piece that got published today. But you go on, man. Let it out. i was waiting for that guy
-
They noted that he often drew gates of 20,000 at MSG and said he had more than 200 matches there. is it not a 21k place just asking
-
Bruno Sammartino is not your friend or your uncle. He was a public figure. People are writing news stories about him today. It would be better if those stories are accurate. So the timing is perfect. i fully agree here

its nice to see someone who is passionate about RINGS like me Thanks you guys

Sadly, yes. could not agree more here its so Pavlovian

Why because Bruno just died today. That's why people don't like it. I saw that he paid tribute and that's the right thing to have done. A significant news story ? It's a fecking sell out number for msg from over forty years ago. I'm not desperate to be outraged but bringing it up today but now isn't the time or place. Bruno's death is a significant news story. I know that when I'm writing an obituary for a prominent person, which I've done plenty of times, I work extra hard to get the facts right. An obituary is like the final word on someone's life. If anything, I'd argue it's more important to be careful with the details in that context. I know if I were writing Bruno's obituary, I would be happy that Dave, as an authority in the field, clarified this point. I'm not talking about the obituary he will write and I've no doubt that he will do a superb job on it and it will be a fitting tribute to a great man. My point is that correcting a number about how many times Bruno sold out MSG isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things is it ? Is that really relevant on the day the man dies ? I'd say no it isn't. It's not as if Bruno never sold MSG out, so why quibble over the number now of all days. That was the only point I was trying to make. shodate grow up a bit. What does people having a go at Dave meltzer over the WMIII attendance number have to do with with Bruno sammartino ? Nothing that's what. it is the same idea Though people will attack dave over x or y numbers for the rest of the time

My view summed up thank you
-
RIP he was great Champion be built the title that WWE has worked so hard to devalue over the years
-
I'm not having a go at Dave for making the point, I'm saying there is a time and a fucking place to do it and the day that Bruno sammartino dies isn't it. Is your keyboard broken ? I am not talking about this topic im talking about that twitter thread
-
all the ones going after dave here are so Pavlovian its sickening im my booing debate him on subjective things you cannot debate a fact im sorry but fact is fact if bruno did not sell MSG X amount of times he didnot sell it out that amount of times
-
people still ofafter dave over the wm thing
-
It's more that for many years, the WWF had an anti-good match bias. this is true ad this comes from someone disagree w with dave more than most based o how I judge matches wwe lack any 96-100% matches plenty of 80-90% matches yes I rate based on % system i just use stars to make my views more easy to understand around the web in my notes i use to take everything has % rating
-
a bunch of WWE marks defending wwe's BS that is what i got from the twitter thread when Dave tells the truth people hate him
-
to be called active im my eyes you needto worked alest 705 of you home promotion or the promotion you most affialed withs shows in the last year or of ypu od not have a home promotion or its not very active one like real japan for example be called active you need ot have worked at lest all you home promotions shows or have worked at least 8-10 matches in the year
-
my view exactly i i hate size and look marks since if you look a combat sports the three biggest draws ever are Sakuraba [ he der w 90k remember] Connor and Floyd and most of Goats in mma History top 10 all-time wise are not HW at all, for example, alot of people have gsp as there goat just saying wwe are far behind the times on this there still size marks when i see a failed footballer player like roman i say i wonder why he failed i say i wager bad cardio conditioning looks us nothing without the conditioning to back it up imo steen more than lilky has better condtionuing than roman basef on the go go go indy road style matches he worked pre WWE

my point was worked like an i quit match 100%
-
just to say by the look of them bret and HBK were jrs at best in weight they were never there billed weight at all maybe Hart was over the wegit of jr ie over 215 buy hbk never was so no HBK was never top on his weight class

He's a bad judge of modern talent for sure. The thing is, those JCP philosophies can work but they need to be laced with modern ideas. That's really what NXT does right now. Where I think he misses the mark is he bemoans the fact that fans are smart to the business now. But what he fails to see is this opened a lot of doors for the more meta and goofy shit like some of the PWG matches. When he was in RoH he was still doing shit like ether soaked rags or trying to sell guys as training MMA for a fake wrestling match. Cornette is a great historian and for an insight into what was going on at certain points and why things did or didn't work. But he doesn't understand the modern fan. He still thinks funny doesn't draw money when we've seen that's not true. i agree with him on alot of things like his views on realism but hes not extreme enough on that as worked as wrestling is why should jav the llook but not the conditioning if a worker gtes gassed afther a few minutes i will call them a bad worker so i agree with the mma training idea since is shows the workers have High-level Conditioning so they will not blow up in 5 minutes

thank you for understanding i listed the reason i dislike a match and your not forcing me to try and change my view on i have always Judge wrestling the way i judge it now . i never try and force my views upon anyone [ that is why alot of the use the words Just my odd views at the end of stuff i post ] but i got attacked for doing that so i stopped that ] side note i also dislike the tlc matches for the reason of there are far better spotfest matches like Cybernertiocs in mexico and tag matches and M pro and others this is coming from someone who has a Strong dislike of spot fest style but i can admit ff there is a good match for people who like that style i will never like the young bucks style match [ fave my fave jr ever is sano] and then Otani but i would never call them the best id call either tanaka or liger the best overall and i wager few may agree with me in that .

not in the context i look at it a submission match should have of mat work in it and its fits the setting that match sets as per the name of the stipulation i expect form submission match worker in the ring trading submission holds to secure a tapout victory i quit is by any means mean match like watching someone in th head with a chair or threting to put someone eys out with the wooden leg so soon as ny one uses weapons or leaves the ring it become an i quit match or that is how o view it submission matches should be pure mat work and limb work as part of work toward the affomaetioned tap out victory iv never seen an i quit match end in clean submission holds for hpld victory ie wuth not weapon or brawking involved its a match structure debate in my eyes You seem to judge wrestling based on extremely rigid parameters that exist only in your head, and you demonstrate little understanding of the context in which matches were actually worked. There is no debate to be had with you because you talk past everyone. This argument is particularly stupid because to submit someone literally means to make them say I quit. There is no difference. i said i watch wrestling in vacuum
-
You're free to look at things however you want to, but that's just being silly and overcritical. Do you hate death matches because the guys don't actually die? as a rule not afan of death matches full stop minus of i know the worker can work outside that style like onita or sekimoto i have never liked pure deathmatch workers its just on in my taste but i give them credit for there part in history like in i HOF topic i have Kudo and Nakamura for example] im ok with stipulation match here and then but you whole booking can not be foucsed around them that is how i see DM promotions as i said about the dragon gate match i may not like that style but if good match of that style comes up i will recommend that match to people who like that style and i say if some is not technique mided as me im technique and executionoplile when i wil rate workers or matches in the same way

i like t match up until the ending i dislike alot pre uwf Japanese wrestling cause of the over-reliance on ending like this
