  1. know i its ot apples to apples but it its close enough to b fair compare tp LLPW any way maybe not fmw size wise but onita and the bucks are a good at self promotion as eatch other so that in my eyes is fair in the 1990's as much as i loved llpw its was only the 5th biggest promotion is Japan the 2nd biggest martet or around 7th over all id say rph [ wtich has the same fans as this show] is around the 4th biggest darwing promotion in the wrold only bettern by wwe njpw and cmll on averridge
  2. im shocked no one finds fault with my reason why i think this could with ease pull 10k based on precedents set my other promotions i wager they have undersold there ability to sell tickets
  3. iv always said it is is possible based on numbers I know from Promotions like FMW who basically drew between 30-45 to Kawasaki or promotions like LLPW Pulled 15k to a show in Fukui with no TV Omega and bucks a wider exposure than FMW did back then ad, why more than LLPW had as rule both of them, were smaller than as a brand,The bucks are now just saying i know this is not apples to apples but its best i can do
  4. this topic is about cold numbers im not usassly about cold numbers myself but this topic is about cold numbers so quote Cold numbers that i know
  5. Yeah, I think the Ospreay comment actually made me physically wince when I read it. I mean I'm a million miles from being an expert on him, but from what I've seen I don't see what makes him the best at anything wrestling wise. He's a great gymnast, I guess, if that matters dave for the most part os a pure work rate guy os him calling will a best on the world in his eyes is not ot far from the truth i owuld not put will even top 50 of the year so far
  6. Yep, Mania 3 was a total flop. Why do we even care 30 years later. Close the thread wow way to jump to the wrong concsion of what i said i cav call you a troll for this comment the way the wwe hype it up as the biggest of all time when his not even there own the biggest show
  7. this was so papered that as 72,000 drawing card only drew 1.5 million usd adjust for inflation around 4.5 Mlioon this did not i compre this the inoki retirement show that drew 8.5 mliioon gate at the time and around 12.25 adjusted for inflation if ot ud draw 92,000 that gate is even more of an embasstsament since that means as show that drew almost 30 k less fans drew 3x the gate lol the inoki show is officially the 5th biggest gate in the History of wrestling only topped by four mainas III not included
  8. For once I was actually interested in what shodate had to say about the match (knowing how others view it and also his constant rhetoric about 'realism'), then we got zero thoughts about the match, just some line about Jerry Lawler! I was going to address his subsequent post about Lawler's strikes not looking as though they have as much impact as Aja's uraken and Hotta's kicks (there's a bloody obvious reason for that!) but I'd decided a while back that I was no longer going to reply to his posts so just left it. There's some good stuff in the MDA about this match as it's on the Yearbook, with Loss calling it the best sub five minute match he'd seen back in 2012. I never considered that it was UWFI-esque, but thought they were doing MMA before the term had even been coined. Here's what I wrote when I watched it for the first time a couple of years ago. Lawler to me was never that realistic to me i did a list of best ie most realistic strikers[ people like willy Williams and alike] in another place and plus in the shootstyle stakes in UWFi was the least fave out of bunch the lo like real Japan and RINGS more that match was ok but never felt real to me cuase lawlor for me never had the best strikes ala people i said above Like Williams or kansai or Hotta
  9. for me a prime is 24-34 but i will never force anyone to think like me iv always thought this way im more an executionophile and techniqueophie since to me work rate is just amount of moves fyi i hate the superkick a move since it has bad technique behind it HBK's being the worst
  10. meh i just do not get lawler's popularity As language is something you are working on, let me ask a series of clarifying questions: 1. Do you really not understand what people value in Jerry Lawler? 2. If you do understand, do you not think that Lawler possesses those qualities? 3. If you do understand and think he does possess those qualities, do you not understand why someone might value those qualities in wrestling in general? 4. If you do understand what people value, think that he does possess those values, and understand why someone might value those qualities in general, do you just disagree, with full understanding, that those values are worthwhile? It's pretty clear to me what you value and while I don't necessarily agree with you, it's not hard to make the small effort to understand why you value what you value. Is that a one way street? Point being, it's hard to have a discussion with someone when it's a one-sided discussion, even if that person is an absolute expert in his side. Lawler's excellent at playing upon people's sympathies (both as a face and a heel). It's hard to have a discussion with someone who can't or won't sympathize with the person talking to him. I have listened to all the GWE Casts and Listened to all that i tried to evaluate again him to see what others see in him if i can for myself see what they see in him just based on how I rate people praise his strikes i can see that but overall its not the top 20 strikers based i what i have seen aja's back fist or Kansai's or hotta's kick look like they all have a better looking Impact than Lawler's also im noy huge fan of Memphis wrestling as a whole based iv seen of the terrories i like Mid south Chicago[kohler] and JCP i do try and take other people views on board minus the realism point i just judge based on pure mechanics of a match hence why i can watch matches with no sound and enjoy them things matches like Hogan vs the rock is highley overrated external factors do not matter as much to me i do see your side and there side but it has not changed my view are you the dude form the Parejas Podcast friendly side note i listed to all the gwe casts before even doing one post here fiding the pwo Soundcloud made me join here
  11. meh i just do not get lawler's popularity
  12. ...yes, the single most visible company on the planet's top title doesn't mean anything. You're right. What if Volk Han held it? it about how its booked and pure in ring quilty not who has held it they have booked in almost as bad as the wcw title was booked in 2000 RINGS of most of time pre mma it never had a title but i siill put in my top five promotions for the year from 1992-1997 and top three of thr year a couple of time why cause the fact it was booked so well you felt like matches were the best vs the best same with say nwa /wcw in 89 look at maina this year i would never call Roman or anyone muted to in any top card match [ minus nakamura nd aj] to be teair one or tair two worker based on how i judge workers so how can i say in my view that there biggest show of the year is the best vs the best when it is not in fact in my eyes that and before you say or any one says oh you dont like braun caue hes a big mani adore gordy hansen vader among other who would be called Hw or even super hw in combat sports and side note when rings introcued the worked world title in 1998 it was Tamura who wn the first vs beating han in the final id also put han above tamura but my views on han aside that match Legit like the besr in RINGS facing each other WWE has better workers thah Roman simple as i kike brock but people wwe have better workers than Brock as well so in my prespticve, it's not best vs best thus devaluing the belt and in the late 1990's thanks russo the belt began its delibce via hot shotting minus vacanies compere hon many people different runs the iwgp and wwe belt have had betwenn jan 1st 1998 and today i say minus vacnies becuse like nakamura first title run ended du ot legt injuty not a work another ruan withc ended when the champion broke his eye socket ] so to be fare ot wwe i cut out vacinies and i think you will find iwgp has been over all less devalued ehrn when NJPW was down the dark days of inokiism no belt has ever been booked 100% perfect i just judge on what has been devalued the least based on match quilty booking and quilty of worker [based on how i judge a worker]
  13. I'm aware Joe's ROH title run didn't have that many great matches, but his dominant performances during that run and the aura it created for him was amazing and Aries finally dethroning him came across as a huge deal thanks to his dominant performances. Tanahashi is exceedingly overrated. Sure he appeals to the locals, but his matches leave a lot to be desired. AJ on the other hand has provided quality matches in different settings against a diverse set of opponents as proven by his current WWE run. I mean, the dude got a very good match out of Shane McMahon which is quite the accomplishment. read my edit ot tanhashi bit and im that aj shane match was * at very best Diverse opponent not diveseve styles espcayy wwe where the style is very homogous more show than go style ie its not very work rate based like hence why braun in main event level in wwe and fale is not the same in new japan iv given out three ***** ratings all decade one was too the KoPW 2012 match tanahashi vs suzuki Aj is my view even with suzuki did not even come close compare there work vs the same opponents even though his stuff with okada is not ***** id all of hoving around the 85-90% range or around ****1/2 range but aj and Okada did not even come close and plus to add a but of kayfabe in to in Tanaashi was held belt that has not been devalued as much as the wwe has even with NJPW infamous 2003 iwgp title booking take in ot account there has been more wwe title chanages since say january 1997 to today than tere has been wwe IWGP ones yes aj held the IWGP title yes but wwe title was been soi devlaued from akk the title changes to Jinder to alot of crap worker hodling the top title id say from 1990- the iwgp title was be hekd by more elte level in ring workerst than wwe title ever will be lent alone its has less lower level worker hold it the wriost be yasuda in my book ponly top 20 all time worker to hold the wwe title was flair biggest does not meabn best wwe may be the biggest company iin the world but there title is not even top 10 in the world
  14. Kobashi -- to me, Danielson's peak was during his mid to late ROH run and my favorite Kobashi run was during his early to mid 2000's Noah run and in my opinion, Kobashi had the better run. I know others will say Danielson's best run is probably his WWE run, but I don't agree Eddie -- I'm a big fan of Bret's, but Eddie had better matches against more diverse opponents in more diverse settings than Bret. Kawada -- Charisma aside, Kawada to me was better overall than Misawa. Benoit -- HBK had bigger and better opportunities, but on a constant basis, Benoit was far better imo. Akiyama -- Nakamura has had some good to great runs, but I don't think he's had a run as good as Akiyama's 2000's run. Nakamura also coasts on matches whenever he wants to as he's doing currently in WWE. Styles -- Not even comparable. Styles is just far better in every aspect. Joe -- I'm sure this will be closer to other people, but in my opinion Joe's ROH world title run and his involvement in the ROH vs. CZW feud put him above Hennig for me and I'm a huge Hennig fan. Hase vs. Angle -- This an interesting one and should be a lot closer than the rest and will pass on voting here as I'm not sure at the moment who I'd choose comfortably. jow roh title runn was shit minus the punk matches Aj was never the savior ofa promotion New japan would be dead with out the once in generation talent aj nevr made tna when he was ace there in the true number w in true drawing card number 2 promotion in the world before you say its about in irng abilty not drawing power tanahashi has thta inirng abilty and work rate to draw Japan overall is still ever inirng driven 75% of fans say it should stay that way too the other i either partly agree or fully agree with
  15. my eramy fave run of eddie was this los grigios run but Pegasus was the better win ring worker by far and away eddie is teir 4 or 5 level while benoit was a level 2 or three the top level[ KongMing tair] Fujiawara Han tamura Koplov Brakes Robinson Gotch etc Level 2[ Zhifang teair] are Benoit Owen and bret Takada Nishimura Ikeda Flair Negro Black Terry ect Level 3 [ wenyuan ] Lesner[ when not in lazy mod] Brisc[ [ wpuld be higher if i have of seen more of his stuff ] Level 4[ Lu Bu teair] Eddie HBK Dragon Nigel
  16. Don't feel bad about your ban, happpened to me too. People running that site are comically uptight.yes yes it was me it was less these views but my views on hart vs Austin match among fother more famous workers and matches
  17. Well, there's that too indeed. Plus, I mean, Linda is a member of Trump's administration. So yeah. But that's entertainment consumption with a political correctness aspect. And yes, it is hypocrisy. western government ass lick the Saudi regime and vince if hardcore Right Winger so he will kiss up to the Saudi's ala trump did so did may the uk leader
  18. I like longer matches but this had ot much Bloat and was to hammy Shows Gedos stance on wrestling more than anything the was Not a New Japan match at hart this was a match right out of PWG with few elements of KIngs road style that new japan uses today **3/4
  19. as pure in-ring goes three of the 4 pillars are good comparisons since ROH style drew so much from Kings Road my view on my Judging a worker on promos is want to watch people talk i just watch the vacuous Daytime variety shows or talk shows that every nation has and how promos work iin Japan is diffrent since Legit sports like Tokyo sports [ and their regional affliates] still cover wrestling so when you hear a Japanese worker talk post match think of it as football/baseball player doing the same after a game. this time it was not me who brought up volk but his promos though i only read the subs of his promos since he talked not one word of Japanese at all but there as like pre fight promos in boxing or post fight interviews i like the Japanese ideal of the wrestling promo more as well it all catchphrases and pablum it is more believable and real feeling when your hearing an interview and hearing all the flashbulbs go off as the prom/.interview is happening something wwe promos have always lacked for me and even most nwa promos too thye feel there Mugging off rather than giving something close to there legit views. the most legit moment in wwe history that iv seen was eddie and benoit after wm 20 even if the tears were worked they felt real interviews by native Japanese talent are for a totally different reason than that the ones in wwe or most us promotions hence why you hardly ever see a 20 min promo in Japanese wrestling[you may see a 5-10 promo in places like TJP ] like in wwe to me wwe programming is not a wrestling show its a on e of the day time talk and or variety shows that happens to contain pro wrestling
  20. It's a solid **** plus match Dragon's style is Highly influenced form Kings Road like most us indie style was and wwe have began pickig that up NOAH ark style was just moidfied Kings road as well why o bring that up is this they selll as well as each other but to untaiend eye some one who not use ot Kings Road mafets ots self as o selling but do KingsRoad well and you have the most well roued worker you could wish for pur inring wise but a badly executed Kings Road style match has so many strings shwoing its like bad puppet show
  21. when he first got here he dropped a humblebrag about having been banned from "CM" which I assumed to mean CrazyMax. who me yes i am and i did mean cagematch it was not a brag at all i just stated a fact about myself they did not like how rated things the only reason i would use that site was not even a member of the forum but im blocked for making a membership for the reason not that i was going to use it anyway everyone can have there own views but i have a huge issue with some of the ratings on cage match for worker Japanese and Lucha people more than us people i got banned for rating people how i legit felt they should be rated [ie for so called manipulation of the rating system] os i got banned for having Views not of the Oxthoxdoxy on both matches and worker
  22. nope that is the simple metric i use
  23. i am not an egomaniac at all either
