  1. This Jeff Hardy run-in (Dance-in) has me wondering what we’re some of the worst/most ridiculous saves in wrestling history?
  2. Yeah, that was utterly ridiculous. Your brother is getting beat down but let’s make sure that we air hump before we try to help out. Jeff: “I gotta get my stuff in, brother!” Sting and Darby took their sweet time getting to the ring too. These dudes were admiring the architecture of the arena and THEN they decide to help out! Wrestling can be an entertaining hot mess sometimes…..
  3. I am reading Bob Backland’s book and it is utterly amazing! I’m way late to the game on this book but it is well worth the read!

  5. That legit made me laugh!
  6. Cody’s statement: https://comicbook.com/wwe/news/aew-cody-rhodes-departure-fan-reactions/ "I have loved my time at AEW. Amazing locker room. Amazing fans. Amazing people. The 'revolution' was indeed televised, and I've been incredibly lucky to be part of that. First, I want to thank Tony Khan. He's taken the baton and run with it, and it was an honor to work for him and to know him on a personal level. He's a beautiful soul. Obviously need to thank my incredible wife and the mother of my baby girl, Brandi, for all of her love and support throughout this journey together and the amazing relationships she fostered with Kulture City and the American Heart Association. I also need to thank Nick and Matt Jackson (these two, whether they know it or not, took an undesired and not confident lir cub and gifted me the confidence to become a leader of the pack), Kenneth Omega, Chris Jericho, Chicken...we started the fire. I must thank Tim W/Keith M/Greg W and the amazing production crew who understood and captured the vision with such grace. I can't name everybody, but thank you to Megha, Margaret, Harrington, Jeff Jones, Dana, Tony Schiavone, Bern, Raf, and the hardest worker in the game, QT Marshall, for propping me up and kicking me in the ass when I was running on fumes. I must thank all my kiddos... MJF, Jade, Sammy, Darby, Lee, Ricky, Tom, The Gunns, Brock, Velvet, Nyla, Aubrey, Turner, Vanilla, Solo, Spears, Julia, Anna, Will, Wardlow, Sonny, Fuego 1 and of course, -1. While we're at it, give Jade the Codyvator! Also need to take a moment to thank the great partners at Warner Media including Brett, Sam and the rest of the team," he continued. "I have so many milestones and beautiful memories of this renaissance...through sweat, blood, tears, literal fire, and all that...I left it all on the mat. Everything pales in comparison to the final contribution I was empowered to lead at the company, the community outreach team. In the most inward moments, your outward behavior and your ability to take fame/influence and do something of value for the communities you visit (whether the cameras are on or off) is the highest honor. I am confident Amanda Huber will lead the department with style. I'm so proud of my creations and contributions and the items I supported or collaborated on with such wonderful professionals. Thank you, fans. Y'all did the work! Let's live forever."
  7. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/351969/all-time-wrestling Wrestling card game that will be coming to Kickstarter soon. It has 4 fictional wrestlers and 4 legends. The announced legends are Kurt Angle, The British Bulldog, Randy Savage, and Andre the Giant. Slated to be $30 on launch day.
  8. How do you explain THAT?? I had to listen twice to understand what he was TRYING to say and it’s a bunch of nonsense.
  9. From Comicbook.com: AEW confirmed via a press release on Tuesday that it will be releasing a compilation album titled Who We Are: A Celebration of Excellence, Vol. 1 on Feb. 18. The 21-track album will "bring to life the stories of more than twenty Black AEW wrestlers through the music of established hip-hop and R&B artists." The release stated, "Who We Are: A Celebration of Excellence, Vol. 1 will be released on Friday, Feb. 18, initially available exclusively in hard copy format with pre-orders now open on ShopAEW.com. Featuring 21 tracks, the album includes contributions from artists such as Jon Connor, Mega Ran, Brinson, Omega Sparx, Monteasy, Josiah Williams, AEW's own Max Caster and Sonny Kiss, and many more. In developing this project, Rukus utilized his previous experience working hand-in-hand with AEW's roster to curate their entrance music, pairing wrestlers with producers and artists to tell their stories in a unique, collaborative format." The album was produced by AEW Music's Mikey Rukus and will feature legendary musician Bootsy Collins. Proceeds from the album's CD sales will go to the Boosty Collins Foundation. https://comicbook.com/wwe/news/aew-album-who-we-are-celebration-of-excellence-tracklist-mega-ran-bootsy-collins/?utm_source=Comicbook.com&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=220201_134227_Comicbook.com Daily Newsletter&utm_content=Link

  11. I just heard about this book on the All Japan split. It’s called Ganbaru : How All Japan Pro Wrestling Survived the Year 2000 Roster Split $5.39 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09PRN4NMG/ref=as_li_tl_nodl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B09PRN4NMG&linkCode=as2&tag=voicofwres0f-20&linkId=459951d15cfa4fb70285b10eb764e2fe https://www.voicesofwrestling.com/2022/01/10/book-review-ganbaru-how-all-japan-pro-wrestling-survived-the-year-2000-roster-split/
  12. Agreed. Sydal only has one facial expression and it’s incredibly annoying.
  13. Happy New Year, brother! (Someone had to…)
  14. Thanks for sharing that promo. It absolutely sucked but at least I have some context as to what’s happening. I would boo Cody too…..if I cared about his character at all. He’s been tone deaf since the start of AEW.
  15. What was this promo? I must have missed it.
  16. Jeff’s wife says he’s good: https://twitter.com/BethBrittHardy_/status/1468985342334283776
  17. Yeah but the thing with Cody for me is his lack of awareness. You help start a company that is geared toward being the antithesis of WWE, you become an EVP, and then you partner with your wife onscreen and have elaborate entrances like “someone else”? As much as I dislike Omega and The Buck’s goofiness I feel like they can read their audience MUCH better than Cody can and play to it. Cody is actually reminding me of Dusty towards the end of his JCP run where he was putting himself in main events and getting some go away heat. That being said, I think a heel turn is coming but it only works if he channels anger for being turned on by the fans. He doesn’t need to get too cute. He needs to be bitter and complain about how ungrateful the fans are and how they are picking new heroes when HE was the one that laid everything on the line to get the promotion going. He has it in him but he needs to lean into it….
  18. The beginning was really tough and the end was heartbreaking as well. Cornette does get in a groove during the middle portion and tells some great Bobby stories while walking through his career. Very sad and raw podcast but I enjoyed listening to Cornette reminiscing about his friend who you can tell he clearly loves and misses.
  19. I think that’s definitely overkill and totally kills any suspension of belief. If you can just go in the ring with a knife and slash someone why would you even try to wrestle them? I’m generally not a big fan of death matches, although I do have a Best of Big Japan comp from YEARS ago. Although weird to say, there’s a tasteful way to incorporate these spots into a wrestling match, IMO. Knives and weedwackers aren’t it and just show how much someone DOESN’T know what they’re doing. That’s just my opinion though….
  20. Fireball angle, BTW Full angle
  21. The second match has no commentary but shows just how tremendous he was.
  22. Midnights vs Windham/Garvin led to the fireball angle. It was a hot angle (No pun intended) before but that angle took it to another level. Crowds wanted to KILL Cornette and the Midnights.
  23. This one really sucks. He was a tremendous wrestler and a great person away from the camera per others. I got to see him live when he was in The Midnight Express vs Ronnie Garvin and Barry Windham for the U.S. tag titles. Amazing match that had to go home early because Bobby was so good he almost started a riot! Cornette had to swing his racket to beat off fans all the way to the back and then Garvin grabbed the back of Eaton’s tights as he was going up the steps to the stage and had him moon the audience. My Mom showed off her vertical when that happened and is one of my favorite memories! RIP to a criminally underrated wrestler. He was in top form for as long as I can remember. One last thing: LOVED the matches with The Fantastics! That Clash I match was my favorite match for years.
  24. I was thinking the exact same thing. Very cerebral and condescending but in a money earning way for the promotion. Loved the angle posted above.
