Oh dude, sweet.

Excellent work continuing the hype for Main Event into WrestleMania. Fuji makes Andre what seems to be a very tempting offer. Rhythm and Bruise through the challenge down for the Von Erich's.
-
Two big opportunities for the Steamboat brothers.
-
Oakland. The Juice Crew continue to terrorize the undercard. Blackman bests the Iceman. The Midnights almost get caught sleeping. Austin wins Bret over and they proceed against the Exchange together. The Warriors derail one Express on route to another. Jackal could claim he was trying to help but Cactus has every right to be upset. San Francisco. Austin gets his win back against the Belfast Bruiser. The Playboy Club doesn't miss a chance to screw over the Dreamboats. Unfortunately for Scotty, it wasn't enough to keep them away from his match. It was a clean sweep for champions in San Fran. Fresno. Christopher once again comes up short against the New Generation. The SB were ready to open a can of whoop-ass. From what i hear, Haynes certainly had it coming. Steamboat with another big win adds to his case for a title shot. The Can'Am Express wanted to get back on track but PR tried to cut them off. Another Perfect victory for Hennig. Jackal takes his chance against Pillman but has no better luck.

Taped at the Grady Cole Center before Main Event. Originally airing on 2/11/89 on the USA Network. On commentary: Bob Caudle & David Crockett Buffalo Soldiers (Ranger Ross and Brickhouse Brown) defeat The Carolina Reapers with the "Buffalo Stampede" "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel defeats the Black Scorpion with a "Tomahawk" chop. "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel w/JJ Dillon defeats The Enforcer with the Figure Four. Main event. "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant and "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez vs "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff & "The Unpredictable" Dick Slater ended in a double DQ. Interestingly The Assassin was observed watching from the entrance way.

From the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte NC. Previously recorded/airing on 2/10/89 on the USA Network. On commentary: Gordon Solie Ring announcer/interviews: Sean Mooney Match #1 Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and The Renegade Warriors (Mark & Chris Youngblood) vs The Paul Jones Army (The Super Destroyer & The Sheepherders) w/"Number One" Paul Jones The first of three multi-man tags to hype the major matches at SuperBrawl 2 (with another on Worldwide tomorrow). Jones is extra aggressive tonight and encourages his men to put a hurting on their opponents. Snuka and the Warriors dig deep to battle back causing Jones to call in reinforcements in the form of Shaska Whatley. This backfires as a miscue leads to Miller colliding with Whatley allowing Snuka to roll him up for the win. Jones read Whatley the riot act while the three champions followed behind them glaring at Whatley the whole time. Match #2 Jamie Dundee defeats "Tough" Tommy Allen with a second rope fist drop. Jamie joins Mooney along with Adrian Street and Ms Linda. Jamie says that when he signed with the NWA he's father Bill gave him one piece of advice, reach out to Adrian Street. Mooney hypes the history between Street and the elder Dundee including multiple title reigns together. Street says Bill is one of his closest friends so he'll gladly lend Jamie a hand he makes clear he expects the younger Dundee to listen closely starting now. The first lesson is to learn to pick your battles. He appreciates the assist last week but Jamie isn't ready for the Horsemen. Jamie agrees that Street is in charge and the two shake hands to close the interview. Match #3 Dynamite Kid defeats Chris Huber with a diving headbutt. Match #4 NWA United States Champion Junkyard Dog, Super Strong Machine and the Zero Fighters (Hiroshi Hase & Keiichi Yamada) vs The Stud Stable (Robert Fuller, Jimmy Golden, Rod Price & Tommy Cairo) w/"The Mastermind" Ron Fuller Between JYD and the Stud Stable, any attempt by the Japanese trio to have a clean wrestling match is abandoned in favor of a Southern style melee. This chaos works in the heels favor as while JYD is able to hit the "Thump" on Fuller the ref is distracted allowing Ron to pass a title belt to Price which he drives into the Dog's back. He rolls Fuller on top and gets the ref's attention leading to the three count. Match #5 Brad Anderson defeats Randy Hutchinson with a Fujiwara armbar. Match #6 "Pitbull" Kerry Brown defeats The Midnight Bomber with a powerbomb. Main Event. NWA World Heavyweight Champion "Rugged" Ron Garvin and the NWA World Tag Team Champions The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) vs The Four Horsemen (Bob Orton, Ole Anderson & Harley Race) w/JJ Dillon Hawk came out with a brace on his arm from last week and it seemed that Garvin and Animal were content to carry the lions share of the workload. They couldn't keep Hawk out of the battle forever though and while brute put on a good showing, an arm breaker by Ole lead to a lariat by Orton and a win for the Horsemen.

Fujinami and Takano prove why they're the Kings. GD learns why you don't mess with Big Jim. Kaz and Grizz get thrown out. Brandi and the Saints topple Vinnie's trio. Huber's rough start continues. Dundee and Starr got a little short changed on the time limit. Akbar helps his champion out. Armstrong leaves victorious leaving Idol to throw a fit.

Adias is so far up his own ass he's about to come out of his own mouth. The Rose's prioritize payback over a win. I love how Nelson never knows when Link is gonna show up. The Gunslingers have no time for the Olympians shtick. Zbyszko's annoyance at Nelson never fails to amuse. St Clair is truly getting the star treatment. Sawy proves to be the MVP on a team with the tag champs. The Hulkster front and center promoting Title Night. Nikita is back and Sarge is in for it now!
-
Rockers fend off the VC to secure their long teased clash with Demolition. Sherri dramaticly interject herself in the champion vs champion match. Martel had better recover quickly because Muta is on his tail. Warrior is heading to WrestleMania!
-
I agree it doesn't make sense to fire D'Amore considering the work he's put into bringing TNA back from the brink. But in the interest of fairness, here's what they are saying the goal of bringing in Mr Cicione... Let's assume for the moment they're being sincere, better production is certainly a good thing. And if a new distribution deal/marketing strategy puts more eyes on the product that can only be a good thing. I agree this is a confusing forst move but we should consider that maybe there's a plan in place.

It's official. Ogawa is starting over. https://www.wrestlinginc.com/1510390/stardom-founder-rossy-ogawa-confirms-plans-launch-new-promotion/

4 big matches signed for Main Event 2. Rude & Warrior decide who's challenging for the gold at Mainia while Savage & Martel decide who's the real top champ. Plus the Rockers defend against the Varsity Club while Taylor & Beefcake meet in a hair vs hair match. The Texas Trio vs The Hart Foundation is picking up serious steam. The Bulldog bows up to OMG. Douglas & Koko could be a exciting addition to the tag scene.

Always sad to hear someone kicked out of their own company.

Portland. Lucky for Shane, Dreamer is a real friend. Austin is putting himself at the head of the latest batch of rookies. Christopher sneaks away with his title. Rose actually does Eddie a solid in route to beating him. Finlay and O'Grady came up with a name but couldn't come up with a win. Steamboat scores another pin on the champion. Portland night 2. Looks like Jackal is better at interfering in others matches than winning his own. Haynes clips the Eagles' wing. The six man tag turn into a pier six brawl. Bret had to reign in his student but still got the win. The Widowmaker reminds everyone why he's on top. Eugene. The New Generation continue their winning streak in 10 man tags. Tenryu is seriously looking strong. Hall shows his versatility. Austin earns Albright's respect. Severn and Rhodes both hold onto their gold.

Taped at the Memorial Auditorium before Main Event. Originally airing on 2/4/89 on the USA Network. On commentary: Bob Caudle & David Crockett. "Wildcat" Wendell Colley defeats Fred "The Freak" Overstreet with a running Bulldog. The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) defeat The Black Scorpion and The Pearl with the "Stinger" to the Black Scorpion. Big John Studd w/"The Perfect 10" Baby Doll defeats The Enforcer with a bearhug. Main event. "Exotic" Adrian Street w/Ms Linda defeats Brad Anderson w/Ole Anderson with a crossface chicken wing. It looked like the Andersons were planning to attack Street only for Jamie Dundee to run down with a baseball bat and clear them out. In other news... The final card for SuperBrawl 2 is as follows. NWA World Heavyweight Title. "Rugged" Ron Garvin(c) vs "The Ace" Bob Orton w/JJ Dillon NWA World Tag Team Titles. NWA United States Title. Junkyard Dog(c) vs "Tennessee Stud Robert Fuller w/"The Mastermind" Ron Fuller Taped Fist Match. "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez vs "The Unpredictable" Dick Slater NWA Heritage Title. The Super Destroyer w/"Number One" Paul Jones NWA United States Tag Team Titles. The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams)(c) w/"Number One" Paul Jones vs The Renegade Warriors (Mark & Chris Youngbloods) Grudge match. "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff Special challenge six man tag team match. The Patriots (Firebreaker Chip Todd Champion) & ? vs Badd Company (Pat Tanaka & Paul Diamond) & Big John Studd w/'The Perfect 10" Baby Doll

From the Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg SC. Previously recorded/airing on 2/3/89 on the USA Network. On commentary: Gordon Solie. Ring announcer/interviews: Sean Mooney. Match #1 The Patriots (Firebreaker Chip & Todd Champion) vs Badd Company (Pat Tanaka Paul Diamond) w/"The Perfect 10" Baby Doll & Big John Studd These two teams originally met at Day One after Chip got a little distracted by Baby Doll (though who can blame him?) They'd meet again in Roanoke where Studd would allow Badd Company to snatch another victory but The Patriots would get some payback by jumping the big man and arguably costing BC a title opportunity. They meet tonight to hopefully settle the score. We get a energetic opener with fast paced offense all around with Champion spicing things up with his power moves. Speaking of Champion, he's seen making eyes at Baby Doll a couple times but it seems the presence of Big John keeps the Patriot away. The two teams are evenly matched the whole way until the bell rings at the end of the 15 minute time limit. The two sides leave without incident but there's definitely more to be had here. Match #2 The Master Blasters (Iron & Blade) defeat Tom Nugent and Ben Walsh with "Welcome to the Wasteland" on Nugent. *We see footage of NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ron Garvin's tour of the United Kingdom with him defending the Ten Pounds of Gold against the best Britain has to offer.* Match #3 "The Latin Heartthrob" Al Perez defeats "Sadistic" Samuel Rothstein with the bridging German suplex. Match #4 "Raging Bull Manny Fernandez vs "The Monster" Rip Morgan w/The Assassin Fernandez's chance at payback on Slater went up in smoke last week when his match with the Unpredictable one ended in a doubt countout. Fernandez was in a foul mood and looking to take it out on someone. Morgan is no man's punching bag however and we get a heated brawl that only ends when Dick Slater emerged from the crowd and attacked his rival. Security got the two separated but you can't keep these two apart together. Interestingly some people observed that as the Assassin lead a fired up Morgan away, the masked man shot a look at Slater. Match #5 "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala w/"Number One Paul Jones & Friday defeats Rainbow Warriors Red, Green & Blue by stacking the three men then coming down on the pile with "Air Africa". We see footage of the NWA United States Tag Team Champions recent tour of Canada with the New Zealanders bringing their trademark chaos to the Great White North. Match #6 Non title. NWA United States Champion Junkyard Dog defeats El Espantoso with the "Thump" Main Event. NWA World Tag Team Champion Road Warrior Hawk vs Ole "Roc" Anderson w/JJ Dillon These two actually have a lengthy history dating back to the Georgia territory where the Road Warriors originally made their name. It seems that familiarity does indeed breed contempt as the two went at it tooth and nail. Hawk seemed to have things well in hand when Dillon waved to the back summoning Harley Race and Brad Anderson armed with a chair(that sharp eyed fans will notice has already been put to work). The heels put a beating on Hawk culminating in Ole and JJ pinning Hawk down as Brad wrapped the chair around Hawk's arm allowing Race to deliver a sickening stomp. At this a clearly beaten down Animal finally arrived and the heels retreated clearly satisfied with their work.

The Maniac mauls Bradley. Kei talked the talk but couldn't walk the walk against Simmes. Bennett and Robin have the making of a fun team. The New Breed show MLW why they're the future. I have no idea who Lozanski is but he stepped up for Neidhart and I gotta say he did a pretty good job. Speaking of the Anvil, he and Saito are a perfect hoss tag team.
-
After those announcements, Feb 17, 1989 may be the biggest night in AWA history! Keirn is looking strong ahead of his challenge of "Lethal" Larry. GD and Huber push each other to the limit. Canek is ready for his trip to Larry Land. Big Jim puts Kokina on notice. I love it when a tag match turn into a riot. Grizz ain't sweating Kaz. Sawyer shows Orndorff how serious he can be. Hoss is on his way. Sweet Dreams is off to a solid start. Things get crazy in route to a Rogers win. Burke gets a shot at the Blockbuster. Stevens reminds everyone that Hogan or no, Jumbo is the MAN in the AWA.
-
Dusty is gonna be a busy man teaming with the Von Erich's to take on the Hart Foundation while also keeping on the lookout for the Bossman. Warrior may be heading to a title shot but Rude isn't done with him yet. The Varsity Club with a big opportunity against the Rockers.
-
Been good hearing from you again. Hope you're doing better these days.
-
Walker gets a magnifique win in the opener. Kei puts herself at the forefront of the Maple Leaf women's division. I'm not sure what Martin was thinking but it didn't work at Jacques paid the price. Goldie really hasn't done much in the game. Maybe this new partner can help him make a name for himself. Raymond hooks up with the Destruction Crew for a shocking closing shot.

Victoria. Austin catches a leprechaun. Billy Gunn proves a good teammate to the Southern Boys. The issue between the Dreamboats and the Playboy Club is getting so big it's drawing in everyone around it. The Bulldozer flattens another poor soul. The TV Title made it on TV! But seriously, Pillman fends off his Illustrious challenger. Nice to see Rose being supportive. Austin refuses to let Bret fight alone. Vancouver. The Express got caught in a Stromfront. The Playboy Club must've felt good getting that win on the Dreamboats. Hashimoto K.O's Bigelow. Rhodes remains California's fighting champion. The Phoenix may rise but not as champion. Steamboat scores a massive pin on the Widowmaker. Kelowna. I can only imagine how thrilled Cornette was to see his boys team with the Juice Crew. The Force arrest the Syndicate. Eddie and Regal push each other to the limit. Severn submits Sasaki. Two successful defenses in three days for Flyin' Brian.

Taped at the Maclellan Gymnasium before Main Event. Originally airing on 1/28/89 on the USA Network. On commentary: Bob Caudle and David Crockett. "British Magician" Steve Wright defeats The Tennessee Terror with the "Octopus Lock" The Master Blasters (Iron & Steel) defeat Steve Franklin & Frank Stevenson pinning Franklin with "Welcome to the Wasteland" "The Doctor of Desire Tom Prichard defeats "Black" Jack Marston with the Superkick. Main event. "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff defeats "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant after a eye rake lead to the "Russian Neck breaker" In other news... It's announced that next week the entire card for SuperBrawl 2 will be unveiled.

From the Maclellan Gymnasium in Chattanooga TN. Previously recorded/airing on 1/27/89 on the USA Network. On commentary: Gordon Solie Ring announcer/interviews: Sean Mooney Match #1 The Renegade Warriors (Mark & Chris Youngblood) vs The Eliminators (John Kronos & Perry Saturn) Solie hyped the Youngblood's winning the four corners match in Roanoke to earn a shot at the NWA United States Tag Team titles at SuperBrawl 2. The Eliminators seemed to realize the opportunity before them and gave the brothers all they could handle. The Youngblood's hung in there and Chris was able to turn a fireman's carry from Saturn into a crucifix for the three. The brothers were offering handshakes to the Eliminators when the Sheepherders made their way to ringside. While security kept the teams apart the champs had put their challengers on notice. Match #2 Jamie Dundee defeats Bill Ravencroft with a second rope fist-drop. VTR- we see a recap of the feud between Manny Fernandez and Dick Slater with Solie saying hyping these two meeting in the main event. Match #3 Brad Anderson w/Ole Anderson defeats John Arbuckle with a Fujiwara armbar. Match #4. The Zero Fighters (Hiroshi Hase & Keiichi Yamada) w/Super Strong Machine vs The Stud Stable (Rod Price & Tommy Cairo) w/"The Mastermind" Ron Fuller With their "sensei" standing guard, the ZFs are able to give the young bucks of the Stud Stable their full attention. While Price & Cairo put up a fine effort, battering their opponents with a series of power moves, it wasn't enough to overcome the ability of the Japanese duo and Hase was able to catch Price with a victory roll to take the win. After raising his students hands, SSM hands Mooney a note. No more stalling, he and his students will meet the Stud Stable at SuperBrawl 2! Match #5 Too Cold Scorpio defeats Too Hot Taurus with a 450 splash. Match #6 Non title. The Super Destroyer w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeats "Sweet" Stevie Lane with the Super-plex. Main event. "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez vs "The Unpredictable" Dick Slater You can feel the animosity as these two stare each other down. Fists are flying the second the bell rings. It looks like the ref might throw it out a few times but lets things play out. Eventually things spill to the floor and neither man even seems to notice the 10 count or even when the bell ringing. Security are able to pry the two off each other but it's obvious nothing has been settled.
