The Glamour Boys show Brooks & especially Hickerson they've learned a thing or two during all those battles with the Highwaymen. Larry Z official cuts all ties with Perez, telling his former partner he's on his own. Madril's interference backfires allowing Z Man to screw Taylor out of a win. Colon & TNT are ready for war... Which is perfect because WARGAMES ARE COMING TO THE AWA! HELL YEAH! Cooley takes his eye off the prize & Oliver makes him pay. Kirchner vs Boone in a Bootcamp match? Bring it on. Also hyped for the battle of the big men. Busick retains in a competitive match that gets a stain on it when Kelly & Vinnie blindside Putski. The Bruise Brothers get a little carried away taking shots at Japan causing Yoshi to stand up for his countrymen. Steamboat is on a roll & ready for another run at the top. Rich, Dream Machine & Idol try to take out the Bullet but flamethrowing King appears to run'em off. Rich vs Lawler on TV? I'm sold!

Ladd makes some valid, though probably unpopular, points. Handing the Koloffs a karate belt was always going to be a risky move. But he wins the crowd back by signing back-to-back cage matches for Houston! Lightning Express continues the fun times with a win. Looking forward to their match with the Nightmares. JYD & Ladd on the same page? Excuse me while I search the sky for flying pigs. Wahoo comparing the Koloffs to a feather was a pretty good burn. Cash with a major opportunity in Houston against the former World champion. "A mile of wrestling ability but only an inch of integrity" great line by Solie. Ivan being slightly confused by the feather got a chuckle. I wouldn't go comparing Ladd to Watts if I were Gordy. Great Freebirds promo regardless. The Commonwealth pearl harbor Hayes as his brothers are taking care of business. Interested to see how Ladd reacts. Steiner puts down Brett. Doug tries to join in for a beatdown bringing out the Mad Dog who sends Missy's boys packing. Ivan & Petrov send us off the air by putting the boots to the Strongman. Canadian Sickle, lol. Good looking card for Houston.

A Dibiase-Watts back-and-forth is a great way to start the show. Bold of the Million Dollar Man to bring up Watts. Borne vents his rage at the boss on onto poor Boone. After a disagreement last week, Luger goes all the way & breaks away from Woman, only to be beaten down by her loyal monsters. Hercules impresses the crowd before calling out Borne. Muta with another solid win before snubbing Bruno. Bruno's 180 was perfect. Dibiase walks out on Embry allowing Duggan & Benoit to pick up the win. Danny Davis as the ref huh? I remember reading some stories about that...didn't turn out so well. -
Moretti starts the night with a win then throws down the challenge for a steel cage match. The numbers game proves too much for Mad Maxine. Perhaps she should start looking for a partner? The Giant Slayers push the champs to the breaking point. Like that Singh & Bennett are being called Monsters again. Jamie West wins in a match that serves to settle things down. Combs & Morgan have a fun exhibition match. Brown gets a solid win. Medusa is holding all the gold! That super German must've got quite the pop.

NWA Live at the Asheville Civic Center in Asheville NC 7/13/87 Arn Anderson wins a 20 man battle royal to challenge for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in the main event. Giant Haystacks defeats 3 local talents by piling them on top of each other and dropping a elbow on the pile. Ranger Ross defeats Thunderfoot with the "Combat Kick" Jason the Terrible defeats "The Polynesian Prince" Siva Afi after a distraction from Angel of Death allows him to hit Afi with his axhandle. The New Breed (Chris Champion & Sean Royal) defeat Spartanburg Vice (Jerry Bryant & Lou Winston) when Royal pins Bryant with his feet on the ropes. "Shooting Star" Keiichi Yamada defeats Angel of Death with the "Shooting Star Press" "Tennessee Stud" Robert Fuller defeats "Super Rookie" Hiroshi Hase with a kick from his "loaded" boot. NWA World Six Man Tag Team Titles "Lone Star" Brian Adidas & The Grapplers(c) defeat Radiance (Jimmy Del Ray, Chic Donavon & Adrian Adonis) w/"Sensational" Sherri Martel when Grappler #2 pins Del Ray with a Lariat. NWA World Heavyweight Title "Nature Boy" Ric Flair(c) defeats Arn Anderson w/JJ Dillon by countering a attempted Gordbuster into an inside cradle after 30+ minutes of technical magic.

OGMNE start the night with a solid win. Powerhouse flattens the Vin Man, Yeah! Boone using Ol' glory as a weapon must've got some good heat. Morgan smashes a distracted Kelly. Polynesian Power & Iaukea's killers will not be held back. Iron & Steel reunite to fend off the challenge of the Cripplers. Lawler is a more than suitable replacement & he comes through by pinning Rich.
-
The Malenkos truimph in the battle of the brother duos. Dingo out-brawls Gantner. Sabu takes BT on a wild ride. Mr Backlund & his two top students claim a win in trios action. Neidhart gets carried away trying to impress Mr Backlund & pays the price. Furnas proves a tough challenger but St Clair comes out on top.
-
Steel joins forces with the Rainbow Warriors & they score a major win over the MNE. Rose starts acting like a leader & Garvin suffers for it. Cactus is too prickly for Brookside. Odd Couple with a flash pin. Barr & Eddie impress in their first outing as a team. Bockwinkel retains thanks to some help from Big Bubba.
-
Larry Z & the Wild Bunch grab solid wins while getting the crowd revved up. Billy Jack steals one from Peterson. Technicians vs Venomous is a great battle of styles. Canek breaks out of the cobra clutch to retain the International title. Bombers & Coalition wage war. Another battle is certainly on the horizon. Brown retains in a slugfest.
-
Zenk is ready to carry out this feud with Taylor as long as it takes. Zbyszko decides it's not the right time to face Perez. Blackwell has another shot at the top prize. Madril & Taylor reveal themselves as Rich's latest friends. Idol demanding to be the AWA's only Heartthrob was such a delightfully petty thing. Putski earns himself a title match & we have a serious hoss fight to look forward too. The Coalition are primed & ready for their defense against the Bombers Polynesian Power are on the warpath! Hickerson & Brooks are revealed to be behind the attack on the Glamour Boys & have a chance to finish the job in the ring next week. Also props to Brenda for keeping up the search. Kirchner & Peterson win a hard-fought main event. Bad News lays down the law, he don't need nobody!

WCPW is on the air & it's already a hit! Nice idea starting things fast with a Ware win. Akbar's savages kill the mood & possibly the Battens. Champion finds out the hard way there's a reason he's called Wild Bill. Macho Man is definitely bringing the heat to IGN. Hall & Spivey tossing people around got a great reaction i'm sure. Reed mounts his first successful defense of the Gateway title. On to week #2. Rock n Roll start the night off hot. Seeing one of the Moondogs in a Chicago Street Fight must've been a sight. Congratulations to Bigelow on retaining. Rotundo vs Kabuki sounds like an entertaining contrast. Garvin gets a big TV win. Casey finally manages to defeat one of the monsters lurking around Chicago. Jones pays dividends for his men as they retain the tag titles. Major card coming to Bloomington & your promos throughout hype it up wonderfully. I especially like the prominence of the Untouchables.
-
Billy Jack taps out Young on the road to Bockwinkel. Maeda continues his roll with a submission win over the General. Coast 2 Coast score a big win over former champions. Konnan & Sid are heading towards an explosive blow-off. Barr & Eddie tell a believable tail of earning each other's respect while Cactus just about runs down every other group in PCW while promising that PCW belongs to the Wild Things. Ganter K.O's Regal sending a clear message to St Clair. Hope you feel better soon.

Dibiase pays off his opponent & offers a pretty good deal to Benoit. Love that you're going all in on the Million Dollar man angle. Luger demolishes McGee then prevents Vader & Barbarian from losing their cool -& perhaps their jobs- by handing over the tag titles. UWF is seriously hurting from this Revolution Ladd is waging. Muta is becoming quite the attraction in the UWF. Benoit is tempted but Duggan is there to talk him out of it & the match is on! Embry reveals himself as either the newest member of the Shiek's army or a ready & willing mercenary. Either way, he earn s his money as he helps Borne claim the TV title. But all this seems to have incurred the wrath of Hercules. -
I was pretty excited when i saw you hire Petrov. Let the Red Tide rise once again! Solie is seriously pushing his luck with Nikita. JYD & Wahoo aren't concerned about the number's advantage. Sweet of then to buy Nikita a replacement belt. Eddie & his boys got cute with Brett & now they've got a Mad Dog on their tails! The Nightmares arrive with a bang. I'll e keeping an eye on them during the tournament. Spoiler with another solid TV win. The Tag Title Tournament is getting so huge it needs two nights & the Revolution title is on the line both nights? Ladd keeps dropping bombshell's like this he might actually win the crowd over. Tully's bluster isn't enough to deter Kazmier. We end the show with a proper pier-sixer between the Freebirds & the Commonwealth. This one's gotten ugly in a hurry. 7 big matches coming to Baton Rouge.
-
Pardue's dirty tricks aren't enough to overcome Nellie. Devine & Hosaka have a wild one that continues after the bell. Peterson seems to take a educational approach to her match with Adams. Richter triumphs over two of her top challengers in an almost hour-long gauntlet. She really is the iron woman of WWW.

Taped at the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte NC before WCW. Originally airing 7/10/87 on the USA Network. With your host "The Dean of professional wrestling" Gordon Solie. The Grapplers (1&2) defeat Fire & Flame when Grappler#2 pins Fire with a running knee lift. "Chief" Joe Lightfoot defeats George South with a Indian Death Lock. Brickhouse Brown defeats Mitch Snow with a spinning neckbreacker. Winner challenges for the NWA World Television Title on next week's WCW. Black Bart defeats "Super Rookie" Hiroshi Hase with the "Texas Trash Compactor" In other news... We see a pre-taped promo from British Justice welcoming Bill Dundee back into the fold. Street announces that in honor of their Australian collage they'll be renaming themselves to the Commonwealth "in solidarity with our fellow royal subjects down in Alabama." After his match Joe Lightfoot cuts a promo where he dismisses Two Eagles as "an anchor weighing him down" as well as "a disgrace to the proud tradition of native American warriors". Says he's done playing nice & from now on he's proclaiming himself the Chief for the entire NWA. We see footage of Rocky Johnson set to "Soul Man" by the Blues Brothers. We see him facing off with a variety of opponents with particular focus on his rapid fire punches. The video ends with a graphic saying "The Soul Man is coming"

From the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte NC. On Commentary: Bob Caudle & Tony Schiavone. Ring Announcer: David Crockett Previously recorded Airing on 7/9/87 on the USA Network. Ranger Ross vs Barry O Ranger Ross is making his return to the NWA after a respectable run in Chicago. While the always arrogant Barry O gave a good account of himself, the U.S army veteran refused to be deterred & finally claimed victory with his "Combat Kick" "Mr Excitement" Johnny Ace vs "Superstar" Bill Dundee w/Ms Linda Another man who recently returned to the NWA -incidentally after his own stint in Chicago- is Bill Dundee who wasted no time reuniting with his former Six Man Title partners Adrian Street & Giant Haystacks as well as their new protege Norman Smiley. The Superstar clearly hadn't missed a step, laying into his opponent with a combination of British mat wrestling & Memphis style brawling. Ace was no pushover however & mounted a spirited counterattack. The result was a energetic, competitive match that really pulled in the crowd. Ace manages to get Dundee into position for the "Ace Crusher" but the Australian born athlete pushes him off. Seeing an opportunity, Ms Linda gets on the apron & obtains the attention of referee Nick Patrick. Undeterred, Ace goes for his finisher again but this time Dundee drops to a knee & delivers a uppercut to the uprights. He quickly scales the ropes to land "Bombs Away" just as Linda releases Patrick & the pin is academic. Good & Plenty (Ray Candy & Sweet Brown Sugar) vs Radiance (Jimmy Del Ray & Chic Donavon) w/"Sensational" Sherri Martel Commentary inform the viewing audience of Doug Somers' excommunication from Radiance following the loss in the Texas Tornado match at the Great American Bash & reintroduce Chic Donavon who they point out competed in the final months of Mid-Atlantic. Despite being new to teaming with each other, Del Ray & Donovan show impressive teamwork isolation SBS for a good portion of the match. After a lengthy heat segment, Brown finally makes the tag to Candy who spends the next couple of minutes bouncing both members of Radiance around the ring. However he makes the mistake of picking Donovan up for a slam too close to the ropes allowing Martel to reach in & trip him. She then proceeds to hold the big man's feet during the following pinfall leading to a tainted 3 count. Question her methods if you will but there's no doubt Martel has gotten her team back on the winning track in impressive time. "Lone Star" Brian Adidas vs Joel "Dead Eye" Deaton These two tough Texans give the fans a very entertaining brawl with Adidas sprinkling in enough wrestling to keep it from growing stale. Commentary are sure to hype Adidas bringing the Grapplers into the NWA & their winning the NWA World Six Man Tag Team Titles. Halfway through the match Zodiac can be seen observing from the aisle though he makes no move to interfere. The finish comes via Adidas countering a bulldog attempt into the "Original Spike" for the submission victory. NWA World Television Title Tom "MegaMan" McGee(c) vs Iceman Parsons w/Slick Commentary explain that in due to the lack of a championship contenders match before the Great American Bash, Parsons was selected by the championship commettie due to an impressive win-loss record over recent months. Slick was a constant source of irritation at ringside being sure to interject whenever his client appeared to be in trouble. That combined with Parsons undeniable ability created quite the challenge for McGee. However as he had done repeatedly during his title reign, the champion dug deep & used his combination of athleticism & raw power to battle back finally landing his slingshot legdrop for another successful defense. Commentary note that while Norman Smiley is undoubtedly waiting in the wings for a rematch after their draw at the Bash, it's tough to imagine anyone derailing the roll MegaMan has been on. NWA World Heavyweight Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair & "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez vs The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Arn & Ole Anderson) w/JJ Dillon Flair receives a massive hometown welcome as commentary note the mutual defense pact he seems to have struck with Fernandez. They likewise note that Tully Blanchard has resigned from the NWA in protest of what he calls "biased officiating which cost him the World Title" leaving Dillon & the Andersons as the only remaining members of the Horsemen. As for the main event, the story is that as great as Flair & Fernandez are individually, they simply can't match the teamwork of the former World Tag Team Champions. That cohesion, combined with the ever present Dillon, sees the Wrecking Crew in control for sizable portions of the match. Near the end of TV time, Fernandez is trying to make the tag to Flair after being kept in the ring for a lengthy period. Just as he leaps for the tag however, Flair is pulled from the apron by a man who emerges from the crowd. Tommy Young immediately calls for the bell as the mystery man slams Flair into the guardrail before slugging security guards who try to apprehend him. Meanwhile in the ring, The Anderson's have kept up their attacks on Fernandez preventing him from coming to his partner's aid. The attacker rolls Flair into the ring allowing the camera to get a clear shot of his face revealing him to be.... BUDDY LANDEL! The smirking Landel shakes hands with Dillon who then holds Flairs legs while Landel comes off the ropes for his corkscrew elbowdrop. He then takes the mic & the final thing we hear is him proclaim... BL: Oh praise be, what a glorious day for the NWA because the REAL Nature Boy has arrived!

So it turns out that Spectrum was calling us about the bill even though the payment had already gone through. Meaning we were all worrying & I tried to walk to the nearest bank in 100 degree heat for NOTHING! So yeah....fuck Spectrum.
-
Hey guys. Just wanted to let y'all know that Spectrum is threatening my service due to charging us twice for the same job. So I may not be able to post till sometime next month.

Roberts vs Kabuki is kick things off with a bang. Macho Man puts down a spirited Ware. The Gentlemen corrals Wild Bill. The Hangman gets the big upset win with a little help from Kamala. Hall advances with a solid win over Dirty Dutch. No surprise Abby is involved in a non-finish. Garvin puts down the firey Casey to move to round 2. Butch Reed & Paul Jones is quite the dangerous combination as Mike Rotundo finds out. The battle of Rock n Roll resumes with the Express again coming out on top. Reed builds on a strong first impression with a win over Hall. Savage's gets careless with the knucks & Adams gets the DQ win. Roberts fends off the Hangman to move into the semifinals. Garvin was all too eager to take that bye i'm sure. The Nasties are fighting their way back to the titles. Jones takes one for the team allowing Butch to make it to the finals. Adams overcomes a busted eye to claim his spot in the finals. The Warriors have settled in nicely. Butch Reed becomes the first ever Gateway champion on his first night in WCPW! A shocking turn by Race leads to WCPW's new top heel faction, The Untouchables! Race, Slater, Orton & Reed. All guided by Paul Jones. Thankfully it seems that there's already a resistance forming. Looking forward to WCPW's first TV show!

Lance Russell lays out the card for what may be the biggest episode of AWA Major League Wrestling yet. The Bomber's are ready for a shot at redemption. Busick overcome the numbers to keep his TV title reign alive. Venomous is going to be in the title picture sooner or later & Gama may just shock the world in the main event. The Cripplers & the Wild Bunch give us a classic Memphis style TV brawl. Seriously getting worried for Morrow. Yatsu reminds everyone why Brenda choose him to guard the Beauty Shop. Canek gets some time to flex on TV. Rich & Idol are fighting mad & they're aiming for the top. Nicely written battle royal with so many rivalries used to structure the eliminations. Morgan going out first surprised me. I love that Zbysko turns on Perez only to get so caught up jawjacking with fans that he lets Perez eliminate him instead lol. Dream Machine & Armstrong going out together just feels right. Bad News dumps out the big man to capture the World title. Bad news for everyone indeed.

JYD & Wahoo start the show with a major announcement, a huge tag match with the Koloffs in Jackson. The Freebirds are back in synch & are ready to take on the Commonwealth. Stevens is building steam & Wright is pissing of the fans, what's not to love? Brave of Solie to mouth off to the Koloffs....& it nearly cost him. The Spoiler looks ready for what may be his last ride. Ladd drops a major announcement, the Ted Turner cup with the winners getting 100k & becoming the first Revolution tag champs. Nice gimmick with Ladd deciding where to hold the cup depending on which fans are the loudest. Kazmaier debuts & is immediately placed in a major angle with Blanchard. Tully is exactly the kinda guy who can make Kaz look like a million bucks. Eddie gets the tainted win & he has Hot Stuff inc lay a beating on Sawyer. Stacked card for the Jackson Coliseum.
-
Nellie gets a solid season match win. Pardue wins a competitive match with Goldie. Brown is gaining steam. The Giant Slayers are feeling ready for gold. Richter must be feeling invincible after retaining in a battle royal.
-
Neidhart pays dividends for his new teammates. Is that jealousy i see Mr Young. The Odd Couple return with a win but you just know that Severn still has his sights set on Maeda. Dingo's temper costs him & Simmons against the MNE. Red tames himself a bull. The Rainbow Warriors will make fun challengers to TDT. St Clair refuses to be the Big Cat's prey.

NWA Live at the Lee County Civic Center in Fort Myers FL 7/8/87 "The Polynesian Prince" Siva Afi defeats Angel of Death with a jumping headbutt. "Black Magic" Norman Smiley w Ms Linda defeats Jim Brunzell with "Norman Conquest" Joel "Dead Eye" Deaton defeats Brickhouse Brown with a bulldog. NWA United States Tag Team Titles The S&S Express (Joe Savoldi & Shaun Simpson) defeat Brutha's in Arms (Shaska Whatley & Tiger Conway Jr) w/Slick by countout when the Express dropkick both Brutha's through the ropes & Slick decides to lead them to the back instead of continuing the match.
