  1. Tag Turmoil really extended a lifeline to some of stragglers. Though some of the leaders used it to pull even further ahead. There's still time for a few upsets to the established order. Looking forward to seeing if any happen.
  2. Akbar's reaction to Sabu's loss intrigues. Is he really done with his dangerous rookie just like that? And if so, how will The Shiek respond? Poffo does get his win over Zenk but not the way he wanted it. I hope Spoiler is happy. And I especially hope he knows what he's doing. The rubber match goes to a draw! Now what? Cocoa gets the surprise on the Cartel thanks to "little cousin" Kokina! The image of him eating Estrada's hundred cracks me up. But El Jefe brings the good time to a screeching halt with a screwdriver to Lightfoot's eye! I've been hearing how big Keirn was in Florida since he got here and now he's gone just like that! Tatum is going to have so much heat after the hiatus. I don't see how The Fabulous Blondes have a case for another rematch this time. Could it finally be time for Good and Plenty to move on. Hercules retains -no thanks to Akbar- and Backlund is gone from Florida! To make matters worse he then gets blindsided by Poffo and Man. Doll with the splash from the top of the cage to disbanded The Highwaymen! What a way for Duncum to go out.
  3. If AEW treated Dark like you do, I'd actually make a effort to watch. Winter is Coming is loaded!
  4. The question of who is the superior O remains unanswered. Putski helps Gold Standard get some payback on Vin Man and his goons. Brown beats Blackwell courtesy of Kirby and his loaded towel. The Olympians finally end things with the Union and now we get Ross vs Huber. Gama & Snuka are now tied with 1 dq each. The AWA World Tag Team Titles match is everything we expected. RnR with the show of respect at the end which the champions return. Love it!
  5. The two top rookies in Florida pick up steam before their match tomorrow night. I think Allen may be in a bit over his head. The Cartel take out Afi in a brutal assault! Whoever Cocoa's little cousin is, he better be ready for a fight. The Spoiler doesn't take kindly to Red trying to turn over a new leaf. Let's see if they can settle this in Fort Lauderdale. That may have been the best Solie/Poffo interview yet! Backlund may have just made a colossal mistake. But Akbar may also be making a mistake by ignoring Hercules' clear instructions. Fort Lauderdale is gonna be can't miss!
  6. Jarrett let's Lawler & Rich fight it out but it's gonna be unsanctioned. Bloodshed officially guaranteed. The Syndicate is set to rule the AWA but they've already made some powerful enemies. Charland is going all in on his "Wrecking Machine" gimmick. Good job with Larry's half of the promo. I could really hear the obnoxiousness. Gama sending a message to everyone but especially to Snuka. RnR vs Fujinami & Tsuruta is set to be a tag classic. Brenda & Henning are a extra helping of annoying. A bit of tension in the Union. Not a good time considering they're fighting for their future as a team tomorrow night. Gagne retains thanks to the Vin Man & his Diamond Aces. What's it gonna take to get that title off him?
  7. DIY get one up on FTR In the newest phase of their epic rivalry. Punk does NOT have time for Kenny's B.S. CM Punk vs Thriple H in a Dog Kennal from Hell? Book it! I popped big time for Danhausen. He's such a fun character. I wasn't aware that Hollis & Page used to team together but that's a nice touch and a great way to ramp up the tension ahead of the big title match next week. The House of Black is gonna cause so much trouble. Count me in. Young Bucks vs Rhodes Dynasty part 2? Hell yeah! Punk beats Ryback in a stiff brawl. Who's next? The Dynamite Diamond battle royal had so much going on. Kingston continues his war with the Dark Order, Joe hunting Cole, Wardlow going on a tear before inadvertently getting eliminated by MJF. Bring on MJF vs Cage!

Post match Gaylord cuts a promo promising to Spear his way to the top of the NWA in 1987) Match #3 "Maniac" Matt Borne w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeats Mike "Action" Jackson with the "Stump Puller". (Post match Jones & Borne join Caudle in the interview area. Caudle announces that the match Schiavone mentioned they were awaiting news on has been made official. It's Borne & The Outlaws vs all 3 members of The Posse. Jones is indignant that his "elite athletes have to waste their time on 3 punch drunk cowpokes". Borne angrily proclaims that he's gonna give "those spaghetti western rejects a taste of what's coming for em" with that he leaves the interview area, grabs Jackson who was being helped to the back, drags him back to the interview area where he PILEDRIVES HIM ON THE FLOOR! Caudle is horrified and immediately calls for a commercial while medics tend to the motionless Jackson) Commercial+Promo for Christmas Chaos airing live on close circuit television. Check your local listing. Match #4 The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/"Precious" Paul Ellering defeat Rock n Roll Phantoms (1&2) after nearly tearing Phantom #1's head off with the "Doomsday Device" (Post match Ellering & The Road Warriors head to the interview area. In their classic high intensity style Hawk & Animal vow to leave the Greensboro Coluseam as the new NWA World Tag Team champions...and if they have to rip the Andersons to bloody chunks in the process? So be it!) Commercial+Promo for Christmas Chaos airing live on close circuit television! Check your local listing. (VTR- Harley Race is standing in front of a NWA banner with the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder. He says he always strives to be honest, with others and especially himself. He can't deny he's far closer to the end of his career than the beginning. Even by his own estimates he's only got a few years left in him. But he's going to spend those years fighting with everything he has left and leave no doubt that Harley Race is the greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots. He says just as he a big part of being honest is keeping your promises. He promised the whole world he would become a 8 time NWA World Heavyweight Champion & at Christmas Chaos, in the Greensboro Coluseam, live and in color in front of a nationwide audience, he is going to keep his promise. -end VTR) Main event. "The Missouri Tiger" Jeff Gaylord defeats Tiger Conway Jr with a spear. "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff defeats "Downtown" Denny Brown with the "Russian Sickle" The Assassins (1&2) defeat True Grit (Bob Brown & Al Tomko) when Assassin #1 hit Tomko with a "loaded" headbut. "Handsome" Harley Race, "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel & The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/"Precious" Paul Ellering defeat The Four Horsemen (Tully Blanchard, Ric Flair & The Andersons) w/JJ Dillon Proper 30 plus minute main event with everyone getting a chance to shine. The end comes when Dillon passes his shoe to Flair during a pier-sixer with all 8 men in the ring. Flair goes to hit Animal (the legal man for his team) but the big man ducks and the shoe hits Ole (the legal Horsemen). McDaniel knocks Flair out of the ring (still holding the shoe) allowing Animal to plant Ole with a powerslam for the win. Horsemen attempt an ambush after the bell but after several minutes the faces clear the ring. As the Horsemen depart, Ellering grabs the house mic and on behalf of his clients challenges the Horsemen to a Tag Title match at Christmas Chaos! Some fans reported that as the Horsemen were leaving, Ole seemed to be glaring at Flair behind his back.
  10. A shocker to start the night as Bill turns on his own brother. The Desperados aren't playing around. Mighty Goliath is the MVP for the Downtown Express. The strap backfires on The Sawyers. But a pissed off Buzz guarantees trouble. Kirchner feels the sting of the mist. The second elimination tag has a lot going for it. Starr Power & The New Breed trading eliminations, Scott getting some payback on Embry & the final two going to a double c.o leaving room for more. Slick's Stable walks out of their match...and right into a Cage! Landel taps again! I wonder what stipulation he'll pick for the title match. Also i love how Budro starts bitching at Slick only to clam up quick when Bad News comes around. Tag Team Turmoil had Jackson rocking!
  11. NWA House Show results for 12/11/1986 NWA Live @ Albany James H Gray Sr Civic Center in Albany GA "Gorgeous" Gary Royal defeats George South with his feet on the ropes. Earthquake Ferris defeats "Pretty" Paul Roma with a big splash "Downtown" Denny Brown defeats Billy Two Eagles with a Oklahoma Roll. NWA World Tag Team Titles The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Arn & Ole Anderson) defeat The Midnight Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) when Ole pulled a set of Brass Knuckles out of his jacket pocket and decked Michaels. NWA Live @ Norfolk Scope in Norfolk VA "The Natural" Mark Fleming defeats Rocky King with a Rear Naked Choke. "Dandy" Don Bass defeats "Bronco" Bruce Hart with a lariat. The Warlord defeats "Crippler" Ray Stevens with a Powerslam. The debuting True Grit ("Bulldog" Bob Brown & Al Tomko) defeat The Red Tide ( Ivan Koloff & Soldat Ustinov) when Brown pinned Ustinov with a "Exploder" Suplex. "Dangerous" Dan Spivey & Mid-Atlantic Tag Team champions The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood) vs The Commonwealth (Kamala & NWA United States Tag Team Champions George Barnes & Jonathan Boyd) w/JR Foley & Friday ends in a double DQ when all 6 men started brawling and the referee couldn't restore order. NWA United States Title "The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff(c) defeats "The Unpredictable" Dick Slater with the "Russian Sickle". Koloff went to continue attacking Slater with the Russian chain but Randy Savage ran out to intercepte. After a brief brawl, Savage knocked Koloff through the ropes. Nikita went to reenter the ring but "Uncle" Ivan & Ustinov came down & guided him to the back. Savage helped Slater up and the faces stood tall to send the fans home happy.
  12. McIntyre with another successful defense but the pressure seems to be getting to her. The Glamor Girls are on a roll. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see them win the Tag Titles. Medusa hitting the German on Singh is quite the show ending scene. I agree a match between Medusa & Richter would be money.
  13. Some of the struggling teams get themselves on the board while some of the leaders stumble for the first time. I would've loved to see either main event.
  14. From the Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg SC it's.... NWA POWER HOUR! Previously Recorded/Airing on 12/10/1986 Commentary:Bob Caudle & Tony Schiavone Ring Announcer:David Crockett (We see a series of clips from the past week of NWA events throughout the country. We cut to the new opening video set to "Rock Warrior" by The Rods ending on a still shot of NWA World Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard before cutting to Caudle & Schiavone at ringside) BC:Wrestling fans welcome to another episode of NWA Power Hour, professional wrestling's most exciting hour. I'm Bob Caudle alongside Tony Schiavone and Tony Christmas Chaos is just over 2 weeks away and what an event it's shaping up to be. TS:It certainly is Bob. We've already signed two huge title unification bouts AND a Four Corners elimination match to determine a new NWA World Television Champion. Well now we can announce that all titles will be defended at that event with the challengers to be announced in the coming weeks. Furthermore just signed for the event, What we're calling the "Merry Christmas" battle royal. 20 men will compete in a over the top rope battle royal and the winner will receive a title shot of his choosing in the new year. BC:Well that's a merry Christmas if I ever heard one. But that's all In the future. We've got a great night of wrestling here for you tonight. Let's head to the ring for our opening contest. Match #1 Spartanburg Vice (Jerry Bryant & "Big" Lou Winston) defeat Will the Thrill and Boogaloo Shrimp when Winston pinned Shrimp after the "Spartanburg Special" (Post match Spartanburg Vice cut a promo promising that 1987 is the year the Vice wins gold in the NWA. Big "hometown" pop) Commercial-Bob Caudle runs down the NWA house shows for the coming week. (We return to footage from last weeks show in Hampton VA showing the chaotic finish the NWA United States Championship match) BC:Wrestling fans as you just saw Nikita Koloff defended the NWA United States Championship against "Macho Man" Randy Savage this past week in Hampton with the match ending in a double c.o. It's my pleasure to report that the NWA Championship Commetie has determined that the rematch will take place at Christmas Chaos airing live on close circuit television from the Greensboro Coluseam! Switching gears now, 1986 may be coming to a close but the NWA is still on the hunt for the very finest pro wrestling talent in the world. One such man who's about to make his debut is a man they call "The Natural" Mark Fleming who's considered one of the finest scientific wrestlers in the sport today. Let's head to the ring and see what he can do. Match #2 "The Natural" Mark Fleming defeats Mike "Action" Jackson with a Rear naked choke. (Post match Fleming cuts a promo boasting being taught "real professional wrestling by the great Lou Thez" which he states is being "debased by this southern wrasslin garbage" nearly as bad as "those cartoon characters up in New England". Says he won't tolerate the SPORT that he loves be disrespected by a bunch of "drunken hillbillies & Disney rejects". Says the campaign to "restore wrestling to it's rightful glory begins NOW" before storming off to a rather heated reaction) Match #3 "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel defeats Mick Foley with a Tomahawk Chop. (VTR- We see a sweeping shot of a trendy nightclub. Loud music, flashing lights & fashionably dressed people. We then cut to what seems to be a V.I.P section where the Four Horsemen are dressed to the nines. Expensive looking food and alcohol are on a table where the NWA World Heavyweight Title & the World Tag Team Titles are displayed front and center. Blanchard,Dillon & The Andersons are seated on a couch together while Flair is on a chair to the side. Blanchard speaks first. Says the party hasn't stopped since Starrcade. The Horsemen promised to rule the NWA and they kept their word, though he admits with a laugh not quite how they initially envisioned. Says he can't believe he wasted years with "that ungrateful floozy" Baby Doll only for her to lose her nerve during the biggest match of his life. Thankfully he had some real friends to watch his back. Declares himself "the only REAL World Champion. Not that meat head crybaby who had to get daddy to make him a new title. Not that 5th rate Ric Flair impersonator down in that Alabama hell hole *Flair, whos been rather stoic until now smirks at this* Not Ricky "i have all the charisma of white picket fence" Steamboat and certainly not that children's entertainer up in New York". Ole takes over saying it doesn't matter who management sends at Christmas Chaos, The Andersons are holding onto the World Tag Team Titles "however long we damnwell please cause there sure as hell isn't any team that can take these belts from us". Dillon closes the segment telling the fans at home to get used to this sight, The Four Horsemen on top of the wrestling world because they'll be seeing it for years to come. End VTR) Commercial+Promo for Halloween Havoc & Starrcade 86 on NWA Home Video with a special holiday discount if you buy both! Match #4 The Outlaws (Ron Bass & Black Bart) w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeat The Gladiators (1&2) when Bart pinned Gladiator #1 with the "Texas Trash Compacter" (Jones,Bass & Bart join Tony Schiavone at ringside. Jones is dressed in a long-sleeved shirt and dress pants and is carrying a riding crop) TS:Paul Jones you've only been in the NWA for about a week now but you've amassed quite the collection of talent. PJ:You know Schiavone, I don't call myself "Number One" because it's catchy or good a marketing strategy. I call myself "Number One" because whether it was as a wrestler or a manager i expect nothing but the best not just from myself but from those I associate with. And if there's one thing I can't stand it's wasted potential. That's why I took over the career of "Maniac" Matt Borne who was getting himself beat half to death in Florida with only a self-proclaimed "Mad Dog" as backup. It's why I purchased the contract of The Great Kabuki who was wasting his talent as a flunky for a lunatic. And it's why I had to get this man (he points at Bart) away from those John Wayne wannabes in the Posse. This man won the Bunkhouse Brawl at Starrcade for them but were they fighting for him to get a title shot? BB:(snatches the mic) Hell No! PJ:But you better believe i will especially now that he's back in his rightful place alongside Ron Bass as the most physically dominant tag team in wrestling. And if you doubt my word, I'll let them tell you themselves. RB:Thank ya Paul. If any of y'all don't know who we are let me splain to ya. We're the greatest AWA World Tag Team champions of all time. BB:NONE BETTER! RB:We done beat every team in Texas. BB:YEP! RB:We done beat every team in Mid-South. BB:MMM HMMM! RB:We done beat every team in Continental. BB:DONE WHOOPED EM! RB:Now we come to the NWA and look around and don't see nobody to worry. BB:NOBODY! RB:We ain't scared of no Injuns. BB:NOPE! RB:We ain't scared of no Canadians. BB:HA! RB:We ain't scared of no Ruskies BB:EH-EH! RB:And we sure ain't scared of no long haired sissy boys. BB:HELL NO! RB:1987 is gonna be the year of The Outlaws and The Paul Jones Army and if anybody's got something to say about it they can tell it to Miss Betsy! (Bass gives his bullwhip a good crack before the villainous trio depart to loud boos) Commercial+Promo for Christmas Chaos airing live on close circuit television! Check your local listing. Match #5 Main Event winner advances to the NWA World Television Title Four Corners elimination match at Christmas Chaos. "British Magician" Steve Wright defeats "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers with the "Octopus Hold" Matches signed for Christmas Chaos Title Unification match NWA World Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion "Handsome" Harley Race NWA United States Title Match 'The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff(c) vs "Macho Man" Randy Savage w/Ms Elizabeth Title Unification Match NWA United States Tag Team Champions The Commonwealth (George Barnes & Jonathan Boyd) w/JR Foley vs Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood) NWA World Television Title Four Corners Elimination Match The Great Kabuki w/"Number One" Paul Jones vs "British Magician" Steve Wright vs ? vs ? "Merry Christmas" battle royal, winner gets a title shot of his choosing. And much more!
  15. Where were YOU when the Battle of the O's went down? I like the Bombers having a "Total Elimination" style finisher. Brito gets his Wrecking Machine back on the winning track. Gama loses the match but walks away looking like a winner. This is just getting started. Kirby's interference backfires big time. I see a rematch for the National Tag Titles coming. Henning with a career making win over Bockwinkel nets himself a world title shot. If this is Bockwinkel's farewell this was a great way to go out.
  16. Tag Team Turmoil returns with a couple of tall tasks for Slick's Stable. Gotta admit Embry looks pretty good with Sherri's crew. Though I wonder what Prichard thinks about it. The Southern Boys are back together. Hope it goes better than last time. Am I the only one picturing Armstrong giving Smothers the side eye when he was talking about how much he learned in Pacific? Taylor has to give up the TV Title due to Travis... who proceeds to steal the belt! RPG was particularly funny this week. Just throughout the whole show. Dusty raises the stakes by making the Southeastern championship chain match Loser Leaves Town! CCW is closing 1986 with a bang!
  17. The Caribbean Connection is a team to keep an eye on. Poor Gordon! Having to deal with Tatum & The Blondes back-to-back. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually needed a drink. At least if Keirn has his way Tatum won't be around for much longer. Regal accepts & the rubber match is set. As is the Cage match! Shame to see this feud finally end. After the heckling earlier in the show, I expect Gordon could appreciate some good natured teasing from Good and Plenty. I agree the idea of Solie "cut(ting) a rug" is pretty funny.
  18. Wildfire cuts right to the chase by challenging Lawler to a Loser Leaves Town match immediately! He also finds the time to spread some revisionist history. Sad to see Porkchop go but I'm looking forward to seeing the newest Bruise Brother. Blackwell is pissed off and on the hunt! The real thing is back and he's got no time to waste on weak links. This is gonna be hossfest. Mulligan is assembling a team to take down the Syndicate. You've always done a good job combining midcard feuds. Larry Z & Perez are in trouble already as Cabin Fever are the first to step to the new Champs. Henning vs Bockwinkel is poised to sell out Jackson by itself. Gold Standard collide with a tv title shot on the line & it's Kelly who comes out on top. Fortunately there seem to be no hard feelings, unfortunately Gagne & Valiant seem to have come up with a plan. The World Champion sends us off the air with a promise to be ready no matter what comes his way.
  19. NWA releases Mr Wrestling 2 Norvell Austin so anyone who wants to use them one last time before they retire can do so. NWA also releases Savanah Jack. NWA signs "Bulldog" Bob Brown, Al Tomko & Mark Fleming.
  20. NWA Live @ the Memorial Auditorium in Greenville SC 12/8/1986 The Hangmen (Bobby Jagers & Dirty Rhodes) defeat Cruel Connection (1&2) when Jagers pinned CC#2 with a running elbowdrop. "British Magician" Steve Wright defeats Executioner with the "Octopus Hold" "Downtown" Denny Brown vs Chris Benoit w/JR Foley ends in a 15 minute time limit draw. "Black Bullet" Shaska Whatley defeats Keith Hart with the "Flying Willie" "Maniac" Matt Borne w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeats El Santo Negro after Jones shoved Santo off the top rope allowing Borne to hit a bridging German suplex. Non Title The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood) defeat The Red Tide (Ivan Koloff & Soldat Ustinov) by dq when Jonathan Boyd & George Barnes attacked the Youngbloods. "The Unpredictable" Dick Slater defeats The Assassin with a spinning neckbreaker.
  21. NWA House Shows results for 12/5/1986 NWA @ Memorial Auditorium in Columbus GA Mr Wrestling 2 defeats The Warlord with the Knee Lift. "The Electrifying" Ben Bassarab defeats Missing Link with a Flying Bodypress. "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers defeats "Crippler" Ray Stevens with a inside cradle with a handful of tights. The Assassins (1&2) defeat Spartanburg Vice (Jerry Bryant & "Big" Lou Winston) when Assassin #1 made Bryant submit to the "Assassin Lock" "The Missouri Tiger" Jeff Gaylord defeats Soldat Ustinov with a spear. NWA World Tag Team Title Match The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Arn & Ole Anderson) w/JJ Dillon defeat The Midnight Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) when Dillon passed Ole one of the tag title belts which he struck Michaels with as Dillon distracted the ref. NWA Live @ Hampton Roads Coluseam in Hampton VA Earthquake Ferris defeats "Pretty" Paul Roma will a big splash. The Great Kabuki w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeats "Downtown" Denny Brown with a thrust kick. "Dangerous" Dan Spivey defeats "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala w/JR Foley & Friday by dq when Kamala chopped the referee while he was attempting to back the Wildman up so Spivey could get out of the corner. The Outlaws (Ron Bass & Black Bart) w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeats Harts Afire (Bruce & Keith Hart) when Keith passed out while Bass had him in a claw hold. NWA United States Championship "The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff & "Macho Man" Randy Savage w/Ms Elizabeth wrestled to a double c.o NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tully Blanchard(c) defeats "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel with a slingshot suplex following a mule kick.
  22. I don't watch Dark but your version sounds like a good watch. Another big episode of Dynamite coming up.
  23. Peterson gives a good fight but McIntyre is determined to carry the title into the new year and i believe she can do it. The Star Girls strengthen their claim to a rematch. Moretti seems to need some time off. Combs is in danger of letting her hatred of Richter get out of hand.
  24. Rusev is perfect muscle for DiBiase. If you're not cheating you're not trying and Eddie always tries his best. But the Dangerous Alliance gets the last laugh. I'm looking forward to Doom vs the New Day. Demolition doesn't instantly strike me as a WCW team but if they'll accept The Road Warriors... Henning as a Horsemen didn't work out so well irl. Let's see if it goes better here.
  25. Round 2 is in the books and a clear hierarchy is starting to develop. But still there are some great match ups to look forward to.
