  3. McIntyre's run as tv champ is proving a nice confidence builder. Combs brings home the win in the trios title match gathering plenty of momentum for her world title challenge. Combs had better be on her game however as Lisa 3 belts makes clear she's not particularly picky as to HOW she retains her gold.
  4. The Doctor of Desire vs The Haitian Sensation sounds like the title of some b movie with a serious cult following. Prichard leaning into the dark side could be trouble. Street/Poffo is heading for a major climax... ahem. Mixed bag for Sherri. Her Super D's are pulling their weight but Adonis...well at least she's got chemistry with Cooley. Budro & Co vs The Stud Stable ends in chaos to the shock of...well probably no one if we're being honest. Oh Damn! That may be the most popular Dusty finish ever! I thought The Rich's had stolen the belts for sure. Ouch! Rough night for Humperdink. First his tag team get Thumped then his monster gets choked out AND THEN the whole building laughs when he gets flipped off!

  6. Gotta be honest, from what I've seen of him online I'm not too impressed by Platt but you make him interesting. Good to see him & Gordon team against the Rich's. Looking forward to the 6 person tag in Birmingham. Sad to see Scott have to give up his title, smart of him to get a guarantee of a rematch. On the bright side, the Continental Television Championship sounds like a fun addition. Adonis is getting a second chance...I hope for his sake he doesn't blow this one too. Damn! Humperdink gets too combative for his own good. I Don't know what to say except...BEST FIESTA GARDEN EVER!!! Budro found himself some friends! Bruno pays dividends for his Desperados. This feud with The Nightmares could be huge. Onwards to Birmingham!
  7. Watts with a blockbuster announcement of a 16 man tournament at Halloween Havoc! Honestly the Brody story you've got going sounds like a way he'd exit a territory irl. Casey has a price on his head! I think Sunshine is onto something accusing Garvin. Koko Ware could be big here. Nothing makes a crowd (or Bill Watts) happy like a flag waving Murican beating a commie! Papa-san is up too his usual shenanigans i see. Freight Train & The Timekeeper take the first shot at the Superstar Challenge. This is gonna blow up in the Shiek's face sooner or later & I can't wait. Ernie Ladd's Bad Bad team is off to a great start. Ok Leduc is on thin ice. Sunshine isn't gonna let Garvin (presumably) put a bounty on her man's head without making him pay for it.
  8. MACW Live @ Hampton Roads Coluseam in Hampton VA "Downtown" Denny Brown defeats "Gorgeous" Gary Royal by reversing a O'Connor roll into a bridge. "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala w/JR Foley & Friday vs Mad Dog Vachon ends in a Double C.O "The Missouri Tiger" Jeff Gaylord defeats The Assassin with a spear. Brutha's in Arms (Shaska Whatley,Roosevelt Jones & Norvell Austin) defeat The Posse (Dick Slater,Black Bart & Bobby Jagers) when the man CCW fans would recognize as Savanah Jack came through the crowd and passed Austin Bart's branding iron which he hit Jagers with behind the referee's back for the win. Harts Afire (Bruce & Keith Hart) defeat The Red Tide (Ivan Koloff & Soldat Ustinov) when Bruce made Ustinov submit to the "Heartbreaker" (Reverse Figure Four) "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers defeats El Santo Negro. Somers removed Santo's mask off & when he went to cover his face Somers pulled him into a inside cradle. "Total Package" Lex Luger,"Chief" Wahoo McDaniel & "Dangerous" Dan Spivey defeat The Spectral Hand (Kevin Sullivan & The Powers of Pain) when Spivey pinned The Warlord after a powerbomb. The Four Horsemen (Ric Flair,Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson & Ole Anderson) w/JJ Dillon & Baby Doll defeat "Macho Man" Randy Savage w/Ms Elizabeth, "Handsome" Harley Race & The Midnight Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) when Dillon shoved Jannetty off the top rope allowing Blanchard to hit a Slingshot suplex for the win. Ms Elizabeth & Baby Doll got into another catfight with this one going decidedly more in Baby Doll's favor. Though the highlight was easily the exchanges between Flair & Savage.
  9. Credit to Bockwinkel for accepting defeat with dignity. Also credit to Steamboat for being willing to do that again. Oh man. Dream Machine loses his shit on poor Lance! What a way to start the show. Iceman lightens the mood. Larry Z & Al Perez in the National Tag Title Tournament? Interesting. Karachi Vice is back where they belong! Good to see the Bruise Brothers getting their groove back. "It was a gift from none of your business" damn Ox can be pretty funny when he wants to be. Looking forward to Hayes/Snuka. El Canek once again proves a braver man than I shall ever be. I know Blackwell was huge in the AWA irl. I'm expecting him to thrive in this new southern flavored AWA. "El Jefe does what he wants" Nuff said. I'm with Resnick,I hope El Jefe & the Wrecking Machine beat each other senseless. The Awesome Twosome implode on The Beauty Shop. If only they could both lose. Mulligan picks a fight with Dream Machine because he can't "stand anybody with the name Dream" lol. Lawler agrees to run the gauntlet to get another shot at Idol. The Fabs are halfway to their clean sweep. The AWA is full steam ahead going into SuperClash.
  10. MACW TV Friday October 1st 1986 On Commentary: Bob Caudle & Tony Schiavone Ring Announce: David Crockett Airing from the Wilett Arena in Farmville Virginia (We see a series of clips from last weeks show in Greensboro. We see Slater & The Hangmen coming to Black Bart's aid against Whatley & Jones, The arrival of Doug Somers as he & Gary Royal help Eric Embry retain the NWA World Jr Heavyweight Championship against El Santo Negro,Arn Anderson hitting Marty Jannetty with Dillon's shoe, Randy Savage dropping the elbow on Blanchard & Finally Ric Flair celebrating with the Horsemen as the NEW Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion. We then get the opening montage set to "The Hit" by Richard Myhill before cutting to Caudle & Schiavone) BC: Hello wrestling fans and welcome once again to professional wrestlings most exciting hour,Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance, The very finest pro wrestling in the world. I'm Bob Caudle alongside Tony Schiavone and Tony all week long people have been buzzing about our return to Greensboro last week. TS: They certainly have Bob. It was easily our biggest show since returning last month. A lot of exciting developments happened which we'll try to cover as the show goes on but before anything else we must extend our congratulations to "Nature Boy" Ric Flair for once again capturing the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship. BC: We certainly do & fans you'll hear from the new champion later this hour,no doubt he'll have a lot to say. But before all that let's send it to the ring for our first match & the debut of a man who's making waves in the Jr Heavyweight division across the country "The Electrifying" Ben Bassarab! Match #1 "The Electrifying" Ben Bassarab defeats Joshua Fagan with a Flying Bodypress. Commercial-Bob Caudle runs down the MACW House Shows for the coming week. BC: Wrestling fans welcome back to Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling my guest at this time is a man with a rough 24 hours ahead of him. Not only does he meet The Great Kabuki in tonight's main event but tomorrow night at the Hampton Roads Coluseam he teams with Randy Savage & The Midnight Rockers against all Four Horsemen. He's the 7 time NWA World Heavyweight Champion "Handsome" Harley Race! (Race enters the scene to a rousing ovation) Harley at the risk of repeating myself you've got quite the challenging 24 hours ahead of you, What's your thought process ahead of 2 such very different sets of opponents? HR: Bob Caudle you can say what you like about The Great Kabuki & the company he keeps but you can't deny he's one of the most dangerous men in the sport today. Likewise you can say what you want about the tactics of the Four Horsemen but that doesn't change the fact they're some of greatest wrestlers in the world today. Now you're probably wondering why I agreed to both these matches in spite of what I just said, but that's the thing, I agreed to both these matches BECAUSE of what I just said. Because Kabuki is one of the most dangerous men in the sport, because The Horsemen are among the best in the world they are EXCACTLY the type of men i need to beat in order to fulfill my vow to become NWA World Heavyweight Champion for the 8th time. Now I certainly have much in common with the likes of Savage & The Midnight Rockers but war makes strange bedfellows as they say & if these are the men i must side with to fulfill my goal then I shall do just that. And if you think I can't all I can say is...just watch me. BC: Fans i learned a long time ago never to bet against Harley Race & i don't advise you to do so either. Let's send it to the ring. Match #2 Spartanburg Vice (Jerry Bryant & "Big" Lou Winston) defeat Fire & Flame (Don Bass & Roger Smith) with the "Spartanburg Special" to Flatype Commercial+Promo for Halloween Havoc BC: Wrestling fans please welcome the new Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair! RF: Haha Bob by gawd Caudle! All is right in Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling! After the better part of a year being carried around by that muscled up statue Hawk this beautiful title is back where it belongs. Back around the waist of a man who'll carry it with the class & dignity it deserves. Back with a man who understands what it means to be the standard bearer for a entire company. Back with the Naitcha Boy! Woooooo! BC: Congratulations are certainly in order but I would be remiss if I didn't point out you've got some quality challengers coming up behind you. RF: Now now Bob no need to be vague i know you're talking about that lunatic Randy Savage. BC: Well he did beat your fellow Horsemen Tully Blanchard last week in Greensboro. RF: Only because Tully was distracted tending to Baby Doll after she was attacked unprovoked by that feral animal Savage tries to pass off as a woman. Tully had that match in the bag and you can ask anyone in Greensboro. Plus I notice you don't mention the greatest tag team on the planet earth & the next NWA World Tag Team champions The Minnesota Wrecking Crew giving those longhaired punks The Midday Boppers the lesson of a wrestling lifetime in route to defending their NWA United States Tag Team Championship. BC: Funny you mention the NWA World Tag Team champions because I have it on good authority that when we return to the Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg SC Ted DiBiase & Steve Williams will be there & they've got something to say to the Andersons. RF: They're gonna be there? BC: That's what I've heard. RF: You know what Caudle? I'll believe that when I see it! (Flair storms off as the crowd goes crazy) Match #3 Chris Benoit w/JR Foley defeats Mike "Action" Jackson with a Dragon suplex. Commercial+Promo for Halloween Havoc (We see taped comments from Lex Luger & Wahoo McDaniel. Luger says he isn't surprised Lucifer turned out to be Kevin Sullivan. This is exactly the kind of games Sullivan has been playing for years. Wahoo says he could spot Sullivan's brand of insanity anywhere. He hasn't forgotten what Sullivan put he & others through earlier in the year in Mid-South & he's got a Tomahawk Chop with his name on it. Luger says they know it won't be that easy because as per usual Sullivan's found some braindead goons to hide behind. But he & Wahoo have found the perfect partner to help him keep the Powers of Pain busy while Wahoo FINALLY gives Sullivan what he has coming) Match #4 "Crippler" Ray Stevens defeats The Quebec Kid (Armand Rougeau" with the "Powerdriver" Commercial+Promo for Halloween Havoc (We see a video of Dick Slater,Black Bart,Dirty Rhodes & Bobby Jagers around a campfire. Slater says they know none of them have shining reputations in the sport but they've all agreed that they need to make a change in their careers. Where once they were the lawbreakers they'll now be the Posse rounding up the lawbreakers whether it be the Four Horsemen,The Rougeau Brothers or Shaska Whatley & his so-called "Brutha's in Arms". Bart takes over saying it "don't make a lick of difference who you boys partner is tomorrow night in Hampton. Me,Bobby & Dick ain't scurrdd a nobody! Hell the only thing they need to be scurred of is me whipping yer Dadgum hides all by my lonesome!" Match #5 "Dandy" Don Bass defeats Rocky King with a lariat. Commercial-Bob Caudle runs down the card for Hampton tomorrow night. "Downtown" Denny Brown vs "Gorgeous" Gary Royal "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala w/JR Foley & Friday vs Mad Dog Vachon "The Missouri Tiger" Jeff Gaylord vs The Assassin Brutha's in Arms (Shaska Whatley,Roosevelt Jones & ?) vs The Posse (Dick Slater,Black Bart & Bobby Jagers) Harts Afire (Bruce & Keith Hart) vs The Red Tide (Ivan Koloff & Soldat Ustinov) El Santo Negro vs "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers The Spectral Hand (Kevin Sullivan & The Powers of Pain) vs "Total Package" Lex Luger, "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel & ? The Four Horsemen (Ric Flair,Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson & Ole Anderson) w/JJ Dillon & Baby Doll vs "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Handsome" Harley Race & The Midnight Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) Bell time 7pm. Tickets still available. Main event (VTR- Kevin Sullivan,The Great Kabuki & The Powers of Pain stand in a graveyard late at night) KS: Home...home is where the heart is they say. No matter how much pleasure i receive from the screams of the sheep in Mid-South or Western States it's never the same as the terror from the lowly creatures that fill the arenas in Mid-Atlantic. Abudadeen has decreed it is time to return to my true hunting grounds and begin the cull anew. I have assembled my fiercest warriors to stand by my side. From the most dangerous part of the orient I have summoned The Great Kabuki.. from the Wastelands I summoned The Powers of Pain. Mid-Atlantic is now firmly in the grip of the Spectral Hand! Run as far as you wish...you'll only die tired. (VTR ends) "Handsome" Harley Race defeats Great Kabuki with a diving headbutt.
  11. MACW releases Tony Parisi. MACW signs Savanah Jack.
  12. Several minutes long "Welcome back" chant. Aw Solie getting sentimental during the intro. While I enjoyed writing the Glamor Boys I'm glad their back with a guy who really seems to understand them. I see "General" Akbar is still his usual charming self. Still no denying he can do a lot with Kazaharu. Rip Rogers & Chick Donovan sounds like a pairing you'd love to hate. One of my biggest regrets for WSW was I never got to introduce The Highwaymen. Ever since you created them in AWA World Class they've been one of my favorite teams in the whole game. I had never heard of Lightfoot until you started using him in Texas All-Star Wrestling but you got me interested in him. I'll keep an eye on him. Wheither they're The South Pacific Connection or The South Pacific Islanders Siva & Samoa is a pairing that doesn't get old. With all the teams here today plus The Tribal Nation, not to mention I'm sure Akbar has a pair lined up, Florida is poised to have one of the best tag divisions in the game! I can't wait for the tournament on the 17th. I'm sure you'll unna'stan when I say I'm pulling for a Glamor Boys/Highwaymen final.
  13. Kinda surprised Richter actually tried to help Leather become tv champ. Nice that McIntyre set a goal for herself beyond simply winning the title. The Monsters may make a Giant Slayer out of Medusa yet if they keep these attacks up. Richter & Moretti give the kids at home a valuable lesson in teamwork...by demonstrating what NOT to do. Combs HAS to be next in line now.
  14. MACW places Italian Stallion & Tony Parisi on the block.
  15. MACW Live @ Albany James H Gary Sr Civic Center in Albany GA Black Bart & Mad Dog Vachon won a 12 man battle royal where the final two earn a Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship match in the main event. The following matches were determined by order of elimination. Rocky King defeats The Executioner (George South) with a DDT. "Dandy" Don Bass defeats Ron Ritchie with a lariat. The Barbarian defeats Italian Stallion with a diving headbutt that sees the big man fly nearly the entire length of the ring! "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala w/JR Foley & Friday defeats Mr Wrestling 2 with "Air Africa" "The Missouri Tiger" Jeff Gaylord defeats "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff by ducking a Russian Sickle & rebounding off the ropes with a spear. Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Jacques & Raymond) w/Armand defeat Black Bart & Mad Dog Vachon when Armand hit Vachon with his directors megaphone allowing his brothers to hit "Bombs Away" As the Rougeaus were celebrating after the bell Black Bart stormed back into the ring swinging his branding iron sending the brothers scrambling & the fans home at least somewhat happy.
  16. The Haitian Sensation is seriously catching on here. The Super Ds are back on track. Sherri should be pleased. Prichard continues to gather steam. The Desperados make a statement taking The Nightmares to the limit. Chaos in the Pleasuredome! Aaaaand there goes Sherri's good mood. Whoever challenges the Rich cousins in the future may wish to consider finding a third guy to accompany them. Ooh...tough night for Budro, gets his ass whooped AND misses out on a chance to join the new Stud Stable! JYD hitting the "Thump" on Goto would be a sight to see. Humperdink's off to Rhodes is a exciting one. Looking forward to seeing if it bites him in the ass.
  17. Bomb Squad get past the gatekeepers of the tag division. Perfect night for The Brigade. Really speaks to the depth of your tag division that you have only one singles match on this whole card.
  18. As noone has shown interest, MACW releases Bugsy Mcgraw.
  19. MACW Live @ North Surry High School in Mount Airy,NC Soldat Ustinov defeats The Intern (Roger Smith) with a kneedrop from the second rope. "Mr Excitement" Johnny Ace defeats Mick Foley with the "Ace Crusher" "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers defeats Keith Hart by countering a figure four attempt with a inside cradle with a handful of tights. Brutha's in Arms (Shaska Whatley & Roosevelt Jones) & The Hangmen (Bobby Jagers & Dirty Rhodes) fought to a double DQ. "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel defeats The Assassin with a Tomahawk Chop.
  20. The Odd Couple beat former Tag Champs making a compelling case for a title shot. The 747 grounds Scorpio. Brickhouse must've made the crowd happy shutting up Victory. Bam Bam & The Masked Avenger are headed for a collision course. Better reinforce the ring. Simmons overcomes the leader of the Crazy Gang. Now onto Hansen. Hector temporarily clips Flyin' Brian's wings. Gilbert is on a major roll. The Playboy & "Tough" Tony go broadway. What's it gonna take for St Clair to prove he's still "Simply the best"?
  21. So ready for Championship Wrestling from Florida!
  22. Lighting Strike...sounds promising. Zybyszko shaking hands with ANYBODY is interesting. What are you up to Larry? Blackjack Mulligan arrives with a bang! "Rugged" Ronnie overcomes 2 men to win the Taped Fist Match! I think a title shot may be in his future. The Fabs move one step closer to their promised clean sweep. Iceman is always a crowd pleaser. Ok i love Cabin Fever but I can't help but be excited that AWA has Priceless Tag Team Champions! I wonder if Ox likes champagne cause I'm willing to bet there's a bottle with his name on it! Bockwinkel/Steamboat is the masterpiece we were all expecting. I legitimately had no idea who was winning. Steamboat has, been phenomenal as champion but I know Bock was THE MAN in the AWA after Verne retired. Unforgettable night in Indianapolis.
  23. Solie's reaction to the Rich's tape was perfect. The Nightmares return to tv with a win. Stubbs taking time to think somethings over. Good for him. Adrian Street & Mongolian Stomper. Now there's a pairing! Man Adrian is whipped. The line about Andre was gold though. Dusty,Magnum & JYD! Pretty sure that's a babyface holy trinity. I'm liking the Desperados. Wonder who Bruno's other guy is? The Fullers are back in CCW & The Stud is looking to recruit the champ! Can't say i blame him...even though Budro was being particularly petty tonight. Am I the only one waiting for Slinker to murder Madril? Damn! Cooley lays such a kiss on Sherri she couldn't help her boys win the main event!
  24. MACW @ The Greensboro Coluseam in Greensboro NC 9/25/1986 The Red Tide (Ivan Koloff & Soldat Ustinov) w/Nikita Koloff defeat Spartanburg Vice (Jerry Bryant & "Big" Lou Winston) when Ustinov drove his knee into Bryant's back causing him to stagger into a Russian Sickle. After the bell Nikita entered the ring & when he saw Winston checking on Bryant he handed the U.S title to Ivan & nailed Winston with the Russian Sickle! He then piled Bryant on top of Winston & had Ustinov bury them both under the Soviet flag. "Hangman" Bobby Jagers defeats Roosevelt Jones with a running elbowdrop. As Jones was leaving Shaska Whatley met him in the aisle & they walked off together. Chris Benoit w/JR Foley & "Bronco" Bruce Hart wrestle to a 20 minute time limit draw. Benoit seemed ready to attack Bruce after the bell but Keith ran down & Foley decided to order a withdrawal. Black Bart defeats "Black Bullet" Shaska Whatley by dq when Roosevelt Jones broke up a pin following the "Texas Trash Compacter". He & Whatley double teamed Bart for a bit until Dick Slater,Bobby Jagers & a man some fans recognized as Dirty Rhodes ran down & ran Whatley & Jones off. Bart seemed unsure but after a brief talking to by Slater he seemed to come around to something signaled by shaking each man's hand. NWA World Jr Heavyweight Championship "Flamboyant" Eric Embry defeats El Santo Negro. Santo appeared on the verge of winning with a cross-body off the top but a man in a Lucha mask got on the apron and distracted both Santo & the ref. While this was happening ANOTHER man in a Lucha mask emerged from the crowd & shoved Santo off the top rope sending him crashing to the matt. Embry recovered as the first man jumped off the apron allowing the ref to see the match winning piledriver. After the bell the 2 men entered the ring. The first removed his mask to reveal..."Gorgeous" Gary Royal! Then the second man removed his mask revealing..."Pretty Boy" Doug Somers! Embry actually jumped to hug his Radiance partner with Royal being pulled in a second later. They then broke the hug & raised each other's hands & took a few bows to deafening chants of "Cheaters" NWA United States Tag Team Championship The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Arn & Ole Anderson) w/JJ Dillon defeat The Midnight Rockers (Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels) when Dillon passed Arn on off the title belts the ref took it from him allowing Dillon to pass Arn a shoe which he hit Jannetty with for the win. Grudge match "Macho Man" Randy Savage w/Ms Elizabeth defeats Tully Blanchard w/Baby Doll in a match many in attendance argued surpassed the main event. The end saw the ref go down after getting caught by a stray right hand. Baby Doll took the opportunity to enter the ring and looked to hit Savage with a (presumably loaded) purse but before she could Ms Elizabeth jumped on her back! Baby Doll managed to shake her off & we get a pretty good "catfight" until ringside security managed to separate them & pull them from the ring. This distracted Blanchard to the point where he missed Savage climbing the ropes & only noticed when Savage came off with a axehandle! Savage then climbed the ropes again as the ref came to & hit the "Savage Elbow" for the win. Main event Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship "Nature Boy" Ric Flair w/JJ Dillon defeats Road Warrior Hawk w/"Precious" Paul Ellering to become the NEW MID-ATLANTIC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! Hawk's power & surprising athleticism proved very difficult at first but Flair began a concentrated attack on the champion's leg. Hawk powered through for a time but a distraction by Dillon caused Hawk to hesitate during a attempt at a clothesline from the top rope. By the time Ellering pulled Dillon down & decked him with a right hook Flair had pulled himself together enough to dodge. Hawk tried to land on his feet but that just made the damage to his leg worse. Flair seized the opportunity to hit a shinbreaker then slap on the Figure Four. Hawk held on for as long as he could but eventually passed out from the pain allowing the ref to count the 1...2...3. The rest of the Horsemen came down to join in on the celebration with Blanchard popping open a champagne bottle as the Andersons hoisted Flair on their shoulders.
  25. I'm just sitting here quietly waiting for Leather to snap & make Richter eat shit. Medusa just cannot get her head around this "team player" business. Thankfully it seems The Giant Slayers are prepared to be patient. Debbie Combs wins a well ordered rumble to make a clear case for a world title match. Speaking of,Moretti retains against a extremely gutsy Little Heart. If only the challengers nerve hadn't failed her at the very end. Another month, another fantastic W3 Supershow.
