Wow the first round didn't go as I thought at all! I couldn't believe BOTH the Armstrongs & Stud Stable bowed out so soon. Plus the Stud Stable freaks out and get themselves suspended for 90 days! Regal seemingly scores the decisive victory over Winters. The Stud's freakout works out great for the DWBs as they get a free ride to the finals while T&Z have to overcome the Highwaymen. Cooley gets a bit of payback defeating Duker but I got a feeling he's not gonna be satisfied until he gets his title back. T&Z best the DWBs to become the new CCW tag team champions! You've done such a great job building these two up rather quickly. Their reign should be fun to watch. Insane main event that goes completely off the rails as MULLIGAN TURNS ON DUSTY! Than works with Olympia & the Koloffs to leave him & Magnum in a bloody heap. Iconic ending. Shootout to Les Thatcher who was on point all night. From the suspension of the Stud Stable to threatening further suspensions & the stripping of titles. Dude wasn't playing tonight. An unforgettable night in the Farm Center.

Well booked tournament ends with a major swerve courtesy of new Tag Champs the Assassins- Paul Orndorf & Ole Anderson! Tito was right, he couldn't be beat in 20 mins. Course he couldn't win in 20 mins either but that's beside the point. Tough night for Mother Russia. Koloff & Volkoff go down in the first round & their Assassin falls to Piper. Patera once again does whatever it takes to leave with the gold. What a night of wrestling in the Queen city!

I'm modeling Jumbo's character in Western States on the trope of the anime antagonist who searches for the "ultimate challenge". He considers himself a warrior in the Japanese style and all that entails. A large part of that is showing proper respect to a opponent who has PROVEN himself to possess sufficient skill and or "fighting spirit". He doesn't show any such respect to the jobbers because those matches are too easy. His relationship with the rest of Zaibatsu is a mixture of "I'm in a foreign land & I'm sticking with my countrymen" and in a way using them to weed out the "unworthy" challengers. Also he's not proud of it but on some level Tojo's shittalking amuses him.

Western States Wrestling Sports Arena Amarillo Texas Bell time 3pm The South Pacific Connection defeat The Texas Outlaws when Siva pinned Outlaw #1 with a jumping headbutt Jason the Terrible w/"Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan defeats Rufus "Freight Train" Jones when Jones tried to headbutt Jason but hurt himself on the hockey mask leaving him open for a running diving headbutt Kendo Nagasaki w/Tojo Yamamoto defeats Sunny War Cloud when Tojo tripped Sunny causing him to stumble into a thrust kick Non title Western States Television Champion "Black Bullet" Shaska Whatley w/Slick & "The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride wrestled to a 15 time limit draw Intermission limited tickets for next week's event sold "The Unpredictable" Dick Slater defeats One Man Gang w/"General" Skandar Akbar by dq when OMG shoved Alex Perez when he tried to separate them in the corner. Frank Dusek came down after OMG & Slater were seperated & said if Akbar didn't want OMG suspended for 30 days he had to pay WSW & Perez 5,000 dollars EACH! Number 1 contender Texas Tornado match The Fort Bragg Brotherhood defeat Karachi Vice w/"General" Skandar Akbar. Kirchner lowbridged Makahn as Gamma had Kernodle in the Camel Clutch he then ran over and pulled Gamma off of Kernodle and into the Cobra Clutch! With Kernodle blocking Makahn & Dusek having stuck around to keep an eye on Akbar Gamma had no help coming & was forced to submit. Embry & Doll were accompanied by their respective partners but before Stack could begin the announcements Dusek took the house mic & said the match would not start until the non-combatents left. Simpson left after wishing his partner luck but Radiance pitched a fit until Dusek stated he was perfectly willing to levy another fine which finally convinced Somers to leave complaining of "injustice" the whole way. NWA World Jr Heavyweight Championship "The Flamboyant" Eric Embry(c) defeats Steve Doll by dodging a Missle Dropkick & hitting a piledriver. Earlier in the match Embry took the title and threatend to walk out but Dusek got on the house mic and said he was waving Embry's "Championship advantage" meaning if Embry didn't answer the 10 count he would lose the title! Western States Heavyweight Championship Jumbo Tsuruta w/Tojo Yamamoto defeats "Dirty" Dutch Mantell. The fans were firmly behind Mantell as he threw everything he had at the champion. But Tsuruta weathered Mantell's brawling offense & used his superior technique to wear his challenger down. After 20+ minutes of intense action Tsuruta slipped out of a Tennessee Chainsaw attempt & hit a lightning fast Tiger Suplex for the win. The crowd gave Mantell a standing ovation as he pulled himself up & after a brief staredown offerd a handshake that was somewhat surprisingly accepted. Mantell then left the ring walking up the aisle with his head held high while Jumbo held the Western States Heavyweight Championship high over his head.

Western States Wrestling Episode 12 From the KFDA-TV Studio in Amarillo Texas Airing live at Noon on WTBS Channel 17 The usual montage of Western States action set to "Into the fire" by Dokken opens the show ending on a shot of WSW Heavyweight Champion Jumbo Tsuruta. We cut to Steve Stack & commissioner Frank Duesk standing in front of a joint WSW and NWA banner. Stack: Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another exciting episode of Western States Wrestling at High Noon sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance, the premier governing body of professional wrestling the world over. We have an amazing show for you today culminating in a face-to-face confrontation between WSW Heavyweight Champion Jumbo Tsuruta, his manager Tojo Yamamoto & the man who will challenge Mr Tsuruta for that Championship, "Dirty" Dutch Mantell. But before we get to that I'm being joined by the commissioner of Western States Wrestling, Mr Frank Dusek & Frank I understand you have a announcement regarding the horrible incident regarding the Moondogs last week. Duesk: That's right Steve. As NWA president Bill Watts said on Contental last night there have been a series of meetings among the NWA Board of Directors & i myself had a personal meeting with President Watts. I can report the following ruling, First as Sullivan is clearly the ringleader of the Dungeon of Doom he as been fined 50,000 dollars, failure to pay by next week will see suspended without pay until he does & the Moondogs being stripped of the WSW Tag Team Titles. Furthermore the entire Dungeon of Doom is banned from Western States television for a entire month starting now. As Mr Watts also said he & the Board are working on a solution to the chaos running rampant throughout the NWA and when that solution has been reached i will rely it & its affects on WSW to you myself. Thank you for your patience and enjoy the rest of the show. Duesk leaves to a sizeable ovation. Stack: Well it's good to know something is getting done about all this craziness. Well folks let's lighten the mood with our first match. The Fort Bragg Brotherhood defeat The Texas Outlaws when Kernodle pins Outlaw #2 with a neckbreaker. Commercial break-Steve Stack runs down the Western States live events for this coming week. We return to Steve Stack being joined by NWA World Jr Heavyweight Champion Eric Embry. Stack: Ladies and gentlemen my guest at this time is the reigning NWA World Jr Heavyweight Champion Eric Embry & i must say sir you have a rather rough week ahead of you. First you defend against Steve Doll at the Sports Arena later today than if you emerge victorious from that encounter it on to Baton Rouge for a clash with the man known only as the Rebel. Embry: If I emerge victorious at the Sports Arena? Steve Stack you must not have been paying much attention because Radiance has been whipping the Glamorless Boys all over the territory for months now. Stack: With all due respect sir I remind you that Mr Doll defeated your partner Doug Somers to earn this opportunity. Embry: Steve Stack if you ever interrupt me again your Champion interviewing privileges are PERMANENTLY revoked. Secondly that only happened because Doug was checking on some fan in the front row who was choking on his neck fat and as he was going to help the poor slob Doll rolled him up with both hands full of tights, put his feet on the ropes and if it wasn't for the ref counting faster than this Texas idiots shoot their shot in bed Doug would've kicked out anyway! Stack: Now that's enough i now for a fact none of that happened. Embry: How do you know? You weren't even there! Stack: Were you? Embry: .....SHUT UP! Embry storms away to a torrent of boos. Stack: (shakes his head) Let's head to the ring for our next match. Match 2 "Killer" Tim Brooks w/"General" Skandar Akbar defeats Naiche (Native American jobber) with a second rope leg drop Akbar cuts a promo saying since adding One Man Gang Devastation Inc has been unstoppable! It's only a matter of time till they hold all the gold in WSW. Stack points out that Kendall Windham should be returning soon causing a large pop from the crowd. Akbar dismissed it saying "That beanpoll will stick to playing with the horsies on daddy's ranch if he knows what's good for him" before leading Brooks away. Commercial Match 3 Steve Doll defeats "Tough" Topher Pressley with a Missle Dropkick Doll cuts a promo promising everyone he'll not only become the new NWA World Jr Heavyweight Champion but achieve the impossible by shutting Embry up! Stack: Alright folks get ready because up next both halve of the Western States Heavyweight Championship match will be in action. Commercial Match 4 "Dirty" Dutch Mantell defeats "Cruel" Cameron Nowell with the Tennessee Chainsaw Dutch joins Steve Stack at the announcer's booth for the main event. Western States Heavyweight Champion Jumbo Tsuruta w/Tojo Yamamoto defeats Salomon Martinez with the Tiger Suplex Stack: The face-to-face confrontation when we come back. Commercial break-Steve Stack runs down the card for the Sports Arena later today The South Pacific Connection vs The Texas Outlaws Jason the Terrible w/"Taskmaster" Kevin vs Rufus "Freight Train" Jones Sunny War Cloud vs Kendo Nagasaki w/Tojo Yamamoto Non title Western States Television Champion "Black Bullet" Shaska Whatley w/Slick vs "The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride One Man Gang w/"General" Skandar Akbar vs "The Unpredictable" Dick Slater Number 1 contenders Texas Tornado match The Fort Bragg Brotherhood vs Karachi Vice w/"General" Skandar Akbar NWA World Jr Heavyweight Championship "The Flamboyant" Eric Embry(c) vs Steve Doll Western States Heavyweight Championship Jumbo Tsuruta(c) w/Tojo Yamamoto vs "Dirty Dutch Mantell Bell time 3pm tickets still available We return to challenger & Champion glaring at each other across the announcer's booth. Dusek: Ladies and gentlemen, as you all know today at the Sports Arena Dutch Mantell challenges Jumbo Tsuruta for the Western States Heavyweight Championship. Gentlemen the contract is signed, you've both had weeks to think about this match. If either of you have anything to get off your chest now's the time. Dutch as the challenger you may go first. Dutch: Thank you Steve. Ya know Mr Tsuruta it occurs to me that this is the first time you & i have ever had a proper conversation so permit me to properly introduce myself. My name it Dutch Mantell. I was born & raised in Oil Trough Texas. I've been a professional Wrassler since the year of our lord 1972 and I've the 14 years since chasing my dream all over this great country. I've missed celebrating birthdays. I've spending holidays with my family because I was too busy chasing the dream. On now that dream has lead me to Western States Wrestling. Now that dream had lead me to you Jumbo Tsuruta and I will stand here in front of God & everybody and say that you are easily one of the greatest wrasslers alive today. My God man you ain't been pinned since you got here but it doesn't matter. All that matters is that today at the Sports Arena in front of 3500 screaming Texans my chase finally comes to a end when I become the new Western States Heavyweight Champion! He shoves the mic into Tojo's chest as the crowd explodes in cheers. Tojo takes a minute staring off into space before his eyes land on Mantell and he seems briefly surprised as if he didn't see him standing there. Tojo: Oh you're done? You're whining was so pathetically boring Papa-san had to tune you out to preserve my sanity. You think we care how many holidays you spend with the mongrol race you call family? You think it matters to us how long you you been in this business? The fact you've been in it so long and still haven't caught your dream yet just speaks to what a loser you are. But mentally retarded failure you may be you said one thing right, your chase does indeed end today. It ends as it was always meant to. With you lying in a broken heap at the feet of the man destined to be the first, last & ONLY Western States Heavyweight Champion of the modern era.. Jumbo Tsuruta! Tojo slams the mic on the table and starts yelling in Dutch's face causing Mantell to push him back which causes Jumbo to get in his face. We go off the air with security pulling them apart in a desperate attempt to save the Sports Arena main event.

Bill Watts makes a rare (taped) appearance on CCW and announced Tommy Rich is being fined 100k and if he & Johnny turn out to be the masked men they're banned for life! And if that's not all he's willing to give "Bring Buddy Back" a chance. Let's make it happen! Budro helps his case with not one but two sidesplitting vtrs. Winters is bound & determined to get the U.S Jr Heavyweight title back. But can he counter Dark Journey? Women heralds the return of Luscious complete with Man. Really glad this gimmick is sticking around. Solie's reaction was priceless. Don't overlook the Dirty White Boys. Young & Jack would've felt mighty damn stupid if they'd lost their spot in the tournament to the Rich cousins. Magnum brings out the big guns with Dusty & Blackjack. Dothan may not be ready for what happens in that cage. Dusty plugging "Bring Buddy Back" should go a long way to convincing folks to chip in. The Stud Stable deliver a money promo before the main event. They're easily among the favorites. A brilliant plan by RPG hands the "Outlaw" the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship! You gotta love a smart heel. RPG is gonna be extra insufferable with TWO champions in his stabie. Bring on Dothan!

Nice to see Allen even up the score. I can only imagine the heat on "El Jefe" after he cost Casey the tv title. Flowers ends Ferris's unbeaten streak courtesy of some brass knucks. The fabs cement their heel status by taking a chair to the Bruise Brothers. Aw the classic "heel has to cheat but still whines there's no competition" bit. What the hell has gotten into Carlos Colon? Wahoo is ready for the Indian strap match. Is Boch? Cabin Fever proves it was no fluke as they retain in the cage! The Cook Center must have had to replace the roof after this card!

7/24-Sat-Mid-South Wrestling Television-Irish McNeil Boy's Club in Shreveport LA (The Mid-South video slams on screen with quick clips of the top stars. In a new addition the video closes on a still shot of the Mid-South North American Champion The Grappler. We then cut to ringside where Boyd Pierce & "Cowboy" Bill Watts are standing by at the announcer's booth) BP: Welcome everyone to Mid-South Wrestling coming as always from the Irish McNeil Boy's Club in Shreveport Louisiana. I'm Boyd Pierce and standing beside me is the man in charge "Cowboy" Bill Watts & Bill people cannot stop talking about the tournament you announced to crown new Mid-South Tag Team Champions & i understand you're here to expand on that announcement. BW: That's right Boyd. First of all I said that thrthree teams had been entered already and now I can announce who those teams are. Already entered into the tournament are...The Wild Samoans managed by Ernie Ladd *Boos* ...The Super Destroyers *More boos* And finally due to his status as a four time Mid-South Tag Team Champion with a variety of partners, the Junkyard Dog will be allowed to enter with a partner of his choosing. *Big pop* He'll be announcing the identity of his partner after his match. I also said that there'd be a series of qualifier matches allowing four teams to earn their entry into the tournament well folks you'll be getting one a week starting...RIGHT NOW! (We cut to Reisor Bowden center ring as the crowd pops huge) RB: This match is set for one fall with a 10 minute time limit and is a qualifing match for the Mid-South Tag Team Title tournament. First in the red corner...representing the Pringle Dynasty...at a combined weight of 484 lbs... Percy Pringle the 3rd presents "Hangman" Bobby Jagers..."Dirty" Dutch Mantell...The Kansas Jayhawks! Their opponents in the blue corner, First from Parts Unknown weighing 240 lbs Mr Olympia! And his partner from Pascagoula Mississippi weighing 430 lbs Plowboy Frazier! The Kansas Jayhawks w/Percy Pringle the 3rd vs Mr Olympia & Plowboy Frazier Honestly this at times is less of a match & more of a pure fight. Frazier' s size & strength allow him to overwhelm either Jayhawk individually while Olympia is able to hold his own and is responsible for what actual wrestling we do get. The Dynasty however can rely on superior teamwork & a willingness to bend if not outright break the rules. The deciding factor proves to be Pringle himself. A well timed trip puts Olympia in position for Jagers to drive the point of his elbow into the masked man's heart for the tainted victory. (The trio make their way to Pierce amongst the boos from the crowd) BP: Well the Kansas Jayhawks advance to the tournament thanks to a little help from their manag... (Pringle snatches the mic away from Pierce) PP3: Boyd Pierce how dare you level such a accusation against me? How dare you sully the the accomplishment of my Kansas Jayhawks? How dare you besmirch my Pringle Dynasty? You'd best watch yourself Pierce lest you end up like that masked moron in the ring. Lying flat on your back....pain coursing through your entire body...staring at the lights trying to figure out where it all went wrong! Now onto more important business than your idiocy, I understand next week there's going to be a battle royal right here on tv to decide who'll challenge for the Mississippi Championship at the Superdome. Which makes it the perfect occasion to present the centerpiece of my Dynasty. I almost didn't bring him to Mid-South you know? Not because he isn't ready you understand but because you aren't ready...Mid-South Wrestling isn't ready for this monster... the National Wrestling Alliance isn't ready for my monster! But he's gonna be here next week because that battle royal & the tournament at the Superdome are just stepping stones to the Pringle Dynasty fulfilling its destiny of holding the NWA World Tag Team Titles & the NWA World Heavyweight Championship! (Pringle contemptuously shoves the mic into Pierce's chest than leads his men away) BP: (shaking his head) Folks we'll be back with more exciting action on the Mid-South network after these messages. Commercial-Boyd Pierce runs down the Mid-South Louisiana tour schedule for the coming week. (We return to the Mid-South fans clapping to the beat of "Another one bites the dust" by Queen as JYD enters the ring) RB: This match is set for one fall with a 10 minute time limit. In the red corner from the Gameroom weighing 220 lbs Checkmate! And in the blue corner from Charlotte North Carolina weighing 280 lbs Junkyard Dog! *Huge pop* Checkmate (Tony Charles in a mask) vs Junkyard Dog The masked Checkmate tries to stick & move but he only succeds in delaying the inevitable, his defeat via the Thump. (JYD makes his way to Pierce as while soaking in the cheers of the crowd) BP: Congratulations on the big win Dog but what I'm sure everyone is wondering is, Who's going to be your partner in the tournament to crown our Mid-South Tag Team Champions? JYD: Well Boyd Pierce when the "Cowboy" told me I was entered into the tournament & that I could pick my partner i knew I had to find just the right man. Like Mr Watts said I've held those belts four times, Those Mid-South Tag Titles mean a lot to the Dog and I knew i had to find somebody who'd fight just as hard as I will. Somebody tough enough to go not just once or twice but three times in one night. And I'm proud to say I found just that man & I've got'em here today. Y'all wanna meet'em? (The crowd pops ...) JYD: Well then get up & show some Louisiana love for the one...the only..."Captain Redneck" himself Dick Murdoch! (Murdoch gets quite the ovation as he meets with JYD) BP: Dick Murdoch! Welcome back to Mid-South! DM: Thank you Boyd Pierce. I had just wrapped up some business up north when my phone rang. It was a certain Dog & he starts telling me about a tournament, says good ol' Mid-South Wrestling is crowning new Tag Team Champions & he asks if ol' "Captain Redneck" wants in. Now lord knows you spend enough time up north you'll do just about anything to smell some southern air again but you throw in a shot at some Mid-South gold & i couldn't say yes fast enough. But I wanna say something to the other teams both the ones already in & the ones looking to qualify. Dick Murdoch is not a man who does things by half & neither is the Dog. We're entering the tournament & we're coming to win and then we're gonna hold on to them Mid-South Tag Titles till they got no choice but to give us a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Ain't that right Dog? JYD: You said it all Cap! Haha! (JYD & Murdoch leave to a huge ovation) BP: More exciting Mid-South action after these messages. Commercial-Boyd Pierce runs down the Mid-South Mississippi touring schedule for the coming week. (We return to Reisor Bowden center ring for the next match) RB: This match is set for one fall with a 10 minute time limit. In the red corner from the U.S.S.R weighing 115 kilos Igor Volkoff! *Massive boos as Volkoff waves the Hammer and Sickle* And in the blue corner from Bradford England weighing 17 stone Scott McGee! Igor Volkoff vs Scott McGee A rather even match pitting McGee's more technical style against Volkoff brawling & dirty tactics. The end comes when referee Alfred Neely backs up McGee as Volkoff was in the corner. Volkoff uses the breather to tap the toe of his right boot against the mat. When he signed he could continue McGee charged in and was meet with that same boot to the face. Volkoff quickly covered for the win but his celebration was marred by fans accusing him of loading the boot. (We cut to Boyd Pierce with a man unfamiliar to Mid-South fans) BP: Alright a bit of controversy surrounding that last match. Folks i want to i want to introduce a fresh face to the territory Floyd Creatchman from Montreal Quebec Canada. Mr Creatchman what brings you to Mid-South? FC: Bonjour monsieur Pierce comment vas tu en catte belle journee? BP: I'm sorry sir I don't understand. FC: (rolls his eyes) Of course you don't you Americans can barely speak english. And that perverted gibberish you cajuns try to call french doesn't even begin to count. First of all Boyd Pierce if you're going to introduce me you WILL say my name correctly, They call me "Pretty Boy" Floyd Creatchman for obvious reasons. My father Eddie "The Brain" Creatchman is the greatest manager in all of Canada and he taught me everything he knows. I've come to this, I believe the term is flyover state, to expand the Creatchman wrestling empire to this cultural wasteland you try to pass off as a country. So for the next few weeks I'll be on the lookout for the wrestler or wrestlers worthy of joining Pretty Boy Inc. And when I find them they'll be heading straight to the top. Au du monsieur Pierce try to make less of a fool of yourself next time. (Creatchman leaves to a chorus of boos) BP: Quite the character. More Mid-South action after these messages. Commercial+promos for the Superdome Extravaganza on August 15th (We return to Reisor Bowden center ring for the next match) RB: This is a tag team match set for one fall with a 10 minute time limit. In the red corner from Australia...representing the House of Humperdink...Sir Oliver Humperdink presents..."Lord" Jonathan Boyd.. George Barnes...The Royal Kangaroos! And in the blue corner first from Roanoke Virginia weighing 218 lbs Ric McCord...and his partner from Treorchy Wales weighing 15 stone "UK Magician" Tony Charles! The Royal Kangaroos w/Sir Oliver Humperdink vs Ric McCord & "UK Magician" Tony Charles A showcase for the Kangaroos that ends when Barnes hit Charles with a Shoulder breaker. (Humperdink & The Royal Kangaroos head to Pierce where Humperdink cuts a promo promising his team will win the tournament & become the Mid-South Tag Team Champions & reiterates that Bob Roop wants a shot at the Louisiana Championship) Commercial+promo for the Superdome Extravaganza on August 15th BP: That was out final commercial break folks. Now it's time for our championship main event! RB: This is our television main event. It is scheduled for one fall with tv time remaining and it is for the Mid-South Louisiana Championship. In the red corner the challenger...standing 6 feet 9 inches tall weighing 320 lbs from New Orleans Louisiana "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd! *Massive boos* And in the blue corner...from Tampa Florida weighing 235 lbs the reigning & defending Mid-South Louisiana Champion..."Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin! Mid-South Louisiana Championship "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin(c) vs "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd Big fight feel for this one. The advantage swings back-and-forth several times. Ladd is bigger, stronger & more experienced his best days are behind him. Garvin meanwhile can rely on speed, technique & endurance. They're approaching the end of tv time when Garvin goes for a desperation crossbody off the top rope. It connects and Garvin goes for the cover...1...2...THE WILD SAMOANS STORM THE RING AND BREAK UP THE COUNT! The ref calls for the dq as Samoans pound on Garvin. Ladd pulls himself up and looks to join in but suddenly JYD & DICK MURDOCH CHARGE THE RING... LADD DUCKS OUT AS THEY CHARGE THE SAMOANS...FISTS ARE FLYING...IT'S TOTAL CHAOS AS BOYD PIERCE SIGNS OFF! Next week, The Mid-South in-ring return of Dick Murdoch, Mississippi Champion Don Diamond in action, The Super Destroyer in action, Tournament qualifier: George Wells & "Black Tank" Ray Candy vs The Midnight Express ("Ravishing" Randy Rose & "Lover Boy" Dennis Condrey). Main Event: 15 man battle royal, winner challenges for the Mid-South Mississippi Championship on August 15th at the Superdome!

The Freebirds aren't giving up on the National Tag Team Titles & DiBiase & Hansen aren't afraid to give'em another shot! The Freebirds quest for gold hits another speed bump as Buddy Jack fails to capture the TV Title. Rich & Masked Superstar are heading for a major collision. To the surprise of excactly noone Sullivan, Borne & Sawyer cause chaos in the main event. Georgia is heating up fast.

Gamechanging announcement as the NWA board sends someone to mediate between the warring territories. Nice way to placate the smarter fans who'd be expecting them to step in. Ole interrupts to make it known he's coming for Crockett's job & he's poaching talent to get it done. Shame Bundy didn't make the cut but Patera & Studd are still a hell of a duo especially managed by someone like Heenan. Piper's had enough of Slaughter & Kernodle running their mouths & offers to put the title on the line next week! Every team is talking about the big tournament, as they should be. Flair has his chance at the Ten Pounds of Gold. Can he make good on it? Huge main event but it's the aftermath everyone will be talking about! Orton & Dillon turn not just on Slater but all of MACW! I haven't gotten around to watching MACW from this period but if it's anything like this I'll have to get around to it.

The "Universal Heartthrob" starts us off with a scathing promo on his challenger Lawler. This is gonna be fun. Ferris & Diamond pick up steam ahead of their match at the Cook Center. I'm not sure if the cage can survive Cabin Fever & The Beasts of Burden. "Rugged" Ron with the quiet w. Snuka wishes Afi well then promises the fans a wild ride and he's poised to deliver against Dream Machine babay! Masked men stick together as El Canek saves The Cobra from a Zybyszko assault. Soviet Steel! Classic gimmick. Rock n Roll is back and gunning for the Fabs on Labor day! Mr Ito looks sharp ahead of his clash with Colon Merrow paying Fergie's medical bills again, How Sweet! But who's his new partner? Gagne wins the TV Title thanks to Valient & Estrada! Major heat as Verne is sickened. Leave it to Steamboat to send the crowd home happy after Gagne's win. He & BJH are gonna tear it up. Packed show!
-
Hayes cuts a promo that entertains & enrages the audience. Can't ask a heel for much more than that. Garvin vs Royal! Who is the real Gorgeous one? All fun and games till Royal steps to Precious giving Jimmy flashbacks. Wonder if that'll be a recurring problem. Gotta respect Fergie shooting his shot. Shame it's gonna get'em killed. Black Bart might wanna be careful, i understand Mid-South was pretty good to the "Timekeeper" DiBiase makes it clear that he honestly sincerely absolutely positively would never ever ever ever infinity accept the MILLION DOLLAR briefcase from the Shiek. Never ever forever! DQ win sees the Patriots standing tall for Murica! Crusher does the southern crowd a favor and shuts the "Mighty Yankee" up earning himself a title shot in the process. Ladd does what all the best heels do and defends himself with the FACTS! Throw in Allen being terrifying and you've got a money act. Brody makes Uncle Ivan pay for costing him the World Title. Ivan has some explaining to do to Nikita. Huge card in Baton Rouge. Mid-South is gathering momentum.

Jimmy Jack spent the whole match trying to get at Starr culminating in them fighting to the back. Dory & Terry mostly squared off with Pogo & Nagasaki and Mantell's limited interactions with Jumbo ignited the crowd.

Sheepherders with the dominant win to start the show off. The Strongbow/Moondogs feud is progressed nicely. Awfully coincidental that the guys getting the big hype treatment just happen to be related to the commissioner. Stomper lives up to his name with a post match beat down on Welch. Pretty good looking Heavyweight title tournament at Summer Blast. From the SMW shows I've watched Street seems a great choice for a top of the card heel. Rocco is one of the talents I don't know anything about but Rip Rogers is annoying af so Rocco beating him is cool with me. SMW is coming together well.

Nice way to connect the first 2 matches. The Highwaymen continue to roll. Regal/Hamilton keep their feud over the gold simmering along. T&Z get their biggest win yet thanks to a little help from Brad. No shame in Kazmaier going down to Spoiler, especially with Dark Journey lending a hand. I.H.o.H establish themselves as top tier threat with a clean win over the Armstrongs. Big time main event as the crowd has the rare opportunity to see a single title change hands in a tag match. Ultimately both straps stay put as it's Magnum who puts down the "Outlaw". Another exciting CCW tour of Mississippi.

The much anticipated debut of Smokey Mountain Wrestling delivers. I actually had to read the opener twice to absorb that Madril is a face here. I've only seen him as a heel in this game. Fritz guarantees Summer Blast will be huge as 2 Championships will be awarded. Interesting having Bruno manage 2 tag teams. The Nightmares & The Moondogs both could bring him the titles. Just about every pre-SMW promo I've seen of Ron Wright had him hyping his "beloved" Stomper. Looking forward to seeing them cause trouble for Roy Lee Welch & everyone else. Nice main event win for Strongbow. But the joy doesn't last as he ends up the ass end of a Moondogs asswhooping.

Good story told in the opener with double M having the physical edge but not knowing how to use it. Also interesting b-plot with the Monsters not knowing what to do without Medusa. The Giant Slayers win a seesaw battle against the Nasty Girls but a bigger challenge awaits next week. Exciting main event as Apache's opening blitz convinces the audience that a new champion could be crowned but in the end Moretti's simply too much to overcome. WWW definitely would've hit cult status by now if not more.

Watts starts the show addressing the chaos rampant throughout the NWA. He & the board are gonna have to come up with something drastic to get things under control. On a more positive note, The "Soul Man" introduces himself to the majority of Mid-South fans with a win. I personally loved Reed,DiBiase & Williams promo, Terry on the other hand took umbrage with DiBiase's portion. My man Embry is his usual charming self addressing his two potential challengers. Kinda embarrassing that we've all been pronouncing Bassaddoooo's name wrong this entire time. Who is the Rebel? Ladd & Allen with the 1-2 combo. Ladd pisses'em off than Allen scares the hell outta'em. Aw man the show ends during the main event! Now they HAVE to tune in next week. I wonder if they'll show DiBiase eyeballing that money. And the action doesn't slow down during the dark matches. Roop & Austin go the distance but Roop spoils the mood. I can just imagine the pop for the Patriots beating the Red Assassins. Crusher & "The Mighty Yankee" are just getting started. Those Koloffs and their damn chains! Ouch! The Shiek cost his man the victory than has to PAY Race on the spot. Uncle Ivan once again pays dividends for Nephew Nikita. I wouldn't want to be Ivan when Brody gets ahold of him. New Orleans got spoiled tonight.

Kind of a rough night for Gary Hart's men as Hito taps & Adams failed to capture the TV Title. But at least the Hart Foundation retain the Golden State Tag Titles. Percy can't be too happy either as none of the Crazy Gang get a proper win. Decent night for the Brigade as Brickhouse gets back on the winning track & the promising team of Windham/Simmons take the CG's leader & their heavy hitter to a tie. The Hollywood Knights break even. Smiley seems to be a little off without his partner. Another memorable night in Kelowna.

4 huge title matches highlight a stacked night in the Greensboro Coluseam. I don't think anyone would complain about getting 20 mins of Tito vs Valentine.

Kazmaier is proving to be a reliable opener. The Highwaymen have big things in their future. Dark Journey is making some serious moves bringing in Spoiler & help Regal win the US Jr Heavyweight Championship. Taylor & Zenk pull off the grudge match win against the DWB's. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't the end. Humperdink's Japanese trio make quite the impression-Goto in Particular- and Horner pays the price for it. Smart of Bass to let Cooley grab Ol' Betsy than snatch her back. I sense another title shot for the Outlaw. Magnum damn near wins Continental gold but the Koloffs aren't content to simply take a title from him. They've decided he isn't allowed to hold ANY title. Stud Stable wins Lights Out thanks to a couple mystery mask men. Thornton sends the crowd home happy by announcing a huge 6 man tag for next week. Huntsville's gonna remember this night for some time.
