  1. I definitely remember him on WCW PPVs and Nitro/Hardcore TV on Classics on Demand (and the internet version) but it came with a disclaimer like all ECW and Attitude Era shows.
  2. Sometimes I wonder if the Mandella Effect is real, because people have been saying this for a decade and Benoit hasn't been cut from anything from Classics on Demand to WWE Network to Peacock.

Yeah there's no cinema stuff here. No one liked it. There are videos of Punk and Bayley in the crowd seeing the finish and having the same reaction as fans. Punk shoots HHH a look getting in the ring as well. On the post show, while HHH is gleefully trolling fans more, Big E is sitting there like "this mf is my boss?" while the other two stooges laugh along. To recap the retirement run: Cena announces 6 months in advance that 2025 will be his last year. At interviews at the time, he makes it clear he will be doing a full, weekly schedule including house shows. Over 200 dates. The company says they only need him for 36. Despite now 8 months of planning, the heel turn comes together very quickly, with Rock's idea being for Cody to turn. HHH wants Cena to turn, with the angle of a Cena/Travis Scott tag team sometime down the road. Rock washes his hands and is not involved the rest of the year. Travis Scott bails, leaving Cena's heel turn to just be a thing with no story or momentum behind it because there wasn't anything planned in advance for it. Halfway through the year, they realize it isn't working, so he goes back to being a face the night before Summerslam with no angle other than "this isn't working, sorry". Somewhere along the line, he gets into a mini feud with R-Truth, also unplanned and there to throw a bone to fans (and talent) who were upset with the way they summarily got rid of Truth out of the blue. About a month spent on Logan Paul. Brock Lesnar comes back and squashes him with no angle, Brock then himself doesn't appear for two months and there's no mention of this event again. A few weeks feud with The Judgement Day, swaps the IC title with Dom at his last PPV. Does not have even a promo the next 2 weeks for his final match. SNME The Final Show. Cena does a normal entrance, gets dominated for most of the 15 minutes, taps out with a smile on his face. HHH leads the roster to ringside (he gets booed), stands on the apron while Cena is having his moment with Punk and Cody (he gets booed) so he can point to the video screens for the 90 second video with music they've already used for such packages and were using talking head clips from 2012 on. Cena then leaves without any kind of speech. On the post show, Cody rambles and cries for what seemed as long as Cena's match, Jey Uso was drunk and had to be told to get off screen, HHH continued to troll the crowd.

Cena goes out to a bizarre almost trolly tap out (I'm sure the idea was gunslinger realizing this was his last moment and going out in peace but the execution was lol wtf), crowd chanting bullshit and you fucked up at HHH, HHH getting booed out of the building insisting on being on screen in all the post match stuff, even booed in 14 year old talking head footage. What a completely botched retirement run. Incredible, really.

:whoo: that last run of falls at the Lee/Nigel match was as close to wire as you can possibly get with fucking up the timing. Literally down to the ref having a half a second faster than one second count.

Jade also hasn't really improved. WWE has a specific place to send people for training, and they sent her there for months before she actually debuted on TV. She's also had more matches in WWE in just about 2 years than her whole AEW run. And she still works exactly the same, her presentation is exactly the same as AEW as well. Which tells me that TK has an eye for visual stars even if they have no experience, which is something that has worked out for quite a few promotors over the decades, and quite a few wrestlers as well.
  7. I guess to be fair to the current group, yelling and screaming announcers has been the deal with TNA since day one and regardless of management, TV, teams, or name of the company. But fuck, it is exhausting that most announcers can't find the medium spot between ludded up Solie and JR losing his mind during the Attitude Era. AEW has the chillest commentary team and most of them are guys that made that style so annoying or indie guys who also only knew how to scream on commentary.
  8. I hope AMC's first production note is STOP FUCKING YELLING EVERY LINE OF COMMENTARY. This goes for NXT as well, and anytime Cole and Pat are together.

Yeah Hook is a non-entity. He was kind of interesting as a meme character that got over for it, but that was now...5 years ago? He hasn't improved a single bit, despite working under guys like Joe and Shibata, Jericho, his father. He's still under 100 matches in 5 years of being on TV, so there's reps to get he hasn't been able to get, but he also has improved at anything since his debut. The very basics. You look at some of the guys he's worked with and like, he hasn't been able to learn better basics? The Hardys, Fletcher, Juice, Sting, CM Punk, Darby, Swerve, Jay White, RVD, The Bucks, Orange, Lucha Bros, Shibata, Joe, Mox, Jericho, Briscoe, Roddy, FTR, Christian, Claudio, Kingston. Maybe this new Opps heel run will see him getting a lot of in ring and promo time to improve but man you could plug the version of him from any year into any other year and it'd be the exact same worker. At the same time I wouldn't say he's hurting the company because he barely does stuff anyway. He's had the benefit of the doubt due to his dad for long enough, he's gotta step it up.

How in the world are Harley, Julia, and the Bucks hurting the company
  11. The more I think about it, the fighting spirit puro sell is probably actually the most realistic sell in wrassle. 1. They actually did take the bump and did bounce back up 2. Most traumatic physical injuries (like say, a bike wreck or sports injury), people try and sometimes do bounce back up like nothing happened and walk it off only for it to hit a few seconds later.

Over Thanksgiving, I found out my rich struncle is friends with the head coach of the Jags. I was hoping I could parlay that into hanging out with TK to talk about DVDVR/CZW Fans and maybe get to hang out with Tony Schiavone, but sadly he does not know the Khans.

I don't have a problem with THS. Shelton has been great, AEW probably needs a guy like Lashley, live crowds have been into them. I also wouldn't care too much of Lashley just kind of vanished and it just stayed with MVP/Shelton. It's not like they've spent 2 years in the main event scene. The tag division has been just fine with them as well. It's really not a big deal.

It was weird because he was amazing in the triple threat with Okada and Takeshita. Either he got spooked or messed up on that first apron DDT botch.

Do FTR/Stoke vs Brodio/Steamboat. All Steamboat needs to do is throw a couple of chops, maybe a single arm drag. Do it, you fiend.

Very strange flex for someone who was just a warm body for a ....uh 7 (?)year WWE run. I would think she'd have trouble pulling that even in TNA.

Lmao who gives a shit? There's no such thing as a title lineage. Nerds getting bent out of shape that AEW has another title lol
  19. The Invasion thing is so wild because it appears to be a single paper or website that called upper management and got them to change the show name, while also mentioning they have previously contacted WWE to remove Sami Zayn comments and were upset about Punk appearing to wear Palestian flag colors on his gear.

The discourse should be how fucking funny it is that HHH is bringing back the Invasion branding, the famously biggest botched program of the past 25 years (for their feeder system and WCW 2.0/their lower feeder system) while being responsible for the biggest botched program SINCE the Invasion in Cena's retirement tour.

Shit that cut looks fucking gross. Eyebrow completely split in half, solid silver dollar sized open wound.

  23. What could possibly be aggravating about that lmao
