We thought we were going to be late because there was a huge protest and march with students protesting teachers. A 15 minutes Uber ride ended up taking 45 minutes. The protest stretched for miles. I wanted to join the protest but my buddy vetoed the idea. I think the protest would have been more entertaining than the Impact tapings.
TNA Impact tapings...
I won't spoil the matches but it started off really fun and became dull after about an hour or so.
The show started with a 6 man mixed tag with each team having 2 guys and a girl. They were all Mexican and I didn't know any of the names. Fun spotfest opener and the crowd was really into it.
Fenix and Pentagon vs. Rich Swann and Matt Sydal. My god, Pentagon was over with this crowd. Fun tag with a finish that might have been botched. I am looking forward to seeing Pentagon tomorrow at Arena Mexico. And this was the peak of the show.
Some guy ,who came out with Homicide, beat up a luchador and called out Konnan and LAX who didn't come out.
Alisha vs Faby Apache. This was a pretty good match. Apache was over with the crowd. The show sort of goes down hill from here.
Trevor Lee vs Puma King vs Petey Williams vs Jack Evans - Puma King was entertaining... and I still hate the Canadian Destroyer. This was lame with lots of time with 2 guys laying outside so the other 2 could do their spots.
Desi Hit Squad vs LAX... this sucked. I am not a fan of the new LAX.
Johnny Impact and Eddie Edwards vs Killer Cross and Moose. When did Eddie Edwards become an Irish punk rocker, union member? Anyway, the crowd was pretty dead when they realized Aries wouldn't be wrestling. Match was ok but Moose shouldnever run away from Eddie Edwards. That felt stupid. After the match, people started leaving even though there was more wrestling to come.
Kierra Logan & Allie vs. Su Yung & Scary Partner. I was tired and bored.
Eli Drake vs. La Parka. Crowd was excited until they realized it wasn't LA Park. Crowd chanted for Park and this La Parka played the heel. I was bored.
A six man lucha began and we decided to lesve esrly to go back to the hotel. We bought the cheapest seats available and that felt like thw right decision. It was fun but not great. It just feels surreal being in Mexico.
