  1. So, Dylan and Jerome were having their debate on Raven awhile back and it resurfaced in the bad wrestler thread. Having said that, I can't name very many great wrestling matches but I can name several feuds he was part of that were very good. I think it is to his credit that he may not have been featured on the ECW matches that much for a guy who was there that long but he is all over the extras. As a wrestler, I am in the Dylan camp that this he is extremely disappointing. Still, the Dreamer feud is still being talked about as one of the most memorable feuds ever. The Sandman feud is still talked about with fond feelings and no one I know is arguing that Sandman was a great wrestler. In WCW, the Flock vs. Saturn feud played out well with the climax at Fall Brawl 98. He was in the tag mix in 1999 but was he really responsible or the focl point of any of the great matches to come out of that time period or just a warm body? In WWF, I think he was actively bad. For someone who has about 40 hours of shoot interviews on crowd control and psychology, him and Saturn had a match wrestled in complete silence on PPV. He had the garbage match with Rhyno that got over huge. I really liked the Punk ROH feud but the matches were nothing to write home about. I don't know anything about his TNa career except he got really fat. So... Raven
  2. Steve Corino vs. Chris Marval (Texas Heat Wrestling 2/24/13) So on Sunday, Corino wrestled Chris Marval in front of 100 fans at a local VFW. Corino does a pre-match heel promo running down the fans for not buying his horror movie and then mentions the last time he saw Marval was when he broke his leg in Ring of Honor back in 2002 which is true. He vows to break Marval's leg again and spends the entire match destroying the leg and it was glorious. Unfortunately, San Antonio and Austin has a bunch of fans more interested in getting themselves over instead of watching the match. None of them are as smart as Corino however. After a few minutes of trading insults with the fans, Corino was fucking up the leg of Marval so bad that he eventually had the fans eating out of the palm of his hand. All Marval had to do was sell the leg the entire match and make the babyface finish at the end. Corino took care of the rest.
  3. The good thing about including this on the set is that we can see the tag teams that were featured in the WWF at the time but don't have to actually include matches with all of them.
  4. Soup, I didn't burn out by the 4th show. My wife did Either way, the break will give people a chance to catch up.
  5. I have a funeral tomorrow and some work to catch up on so people should be able to catch up on last week's episodes. Next episode will probably be Thursday but I don't know how many more times we will do 4 podcasts in one week. Probably never. My wife was a little short tempered by the 4th show.
  6. It was really only 60 seconds but the shit you were smoking made it feel like 20 minutes.

  8. We didn't like the Freebirds Tags before this. We're on the same page there.
  9. Also Matt, you did not take part in the Texas set. It's really hard to compare this to the awesome Freebirds six mans from Texas and UWF and not feel a little let down. You know the Birds excel in this setting and it is merely OK.
  10. We all enjoyed it. Thought the other stuff was better.

  12. I agree with cutting the play by play. Only mention it when it factors in the evaluation of the match.
  13. Puerto Rico is fucking insane. Doing "Dirty Negro" attacks in the 1980s. I need to send this guy the 100 disc PR set and have him translate every interview segment.
  14. KHawk, I have been watching the cats fight in your sig for about 2 minutes now.
  15. On the show, I got called away from the party during Bock-Martel. Rewatched it in full and this was great enough to be the #2 match of the evening for me. We talk about Regal-Zbyszko and how they had different worked matches but all were great. This was the Martel-Bock sprint with little rests, stiff shots throughout the whole match including the nasty shoulder blocks into Martel's ribs that shoot him out of the ring and a controversial finish that works since the ref did not see Martel's shoulders. Not my favorite of the series but it will be top half somewhere, no doubt.
  16. 4th show in 6 nights. I know it can get a little overwhelming but a great time had by all. Tonight I was joined by Johnny Sorrow and Jerry Fucking Von Kramer. Later in the show, Doc Sarpolis joins in and we discuss Tom Zenk's shorts, Savages in Wrestling, racist wrestling fans, Terry GOrdy and Sgt. Slaughter on the GOAT list, and mother fucking midgets!!!

  20. We'll do it! I am going to a wrestling show tomorrow so we can do another one tonight.
  21. These podcasts have been a godsend in helping me burn through the set.
  22. I don't watch much PWG... give me some examples.
  23. Tonight, I am joined by Kris Z and Johnny Sorrow. We discuss our favorite wrestlers up until this point, the magic of Nick Bockwinkel carrying three guys at one time, the white Winnipeg ring and the Frreebirds hating the AWA. A good time had by all for a night where the wrestling peaked early.
  24. I value all 4 of those choices.
  25. Left tonight open in case EricR had free time but he had to go hang out with the old lady. Since I had the time set aside, I talked to Johnny Sorrow and Kris Z and both are ready to do a show tonight. Eric will pop up on a future show for sure so look for that.
