  1. Did you bring up the Chris Cruise topic? Either way, I want to hear this.
  2. Khawk, you really should jump in on one of these podcasts. I get the feeling we insult one of these matches it would be like whipping one of your children.
  3. Wrong thread?
  4. Fuck it... join us on Friday and cue up with us.
  5. Did you pick up the 1980s AWA set? If not, probably would be an awkward experience.
  6. I like that people are talking about episode 1 so I wanted to start a new thread to schedule Episode 2. I have nothing to do except babysit on Friday night so Episode 2 on Friday Night for those of stuck at Home with the wife and the kids. Here is the line-up... Crusher Blackwell vs. Mad Dog Vachon (Algerian Death Match) (5/22/83) Nick Bockwinkel vs. Brad Rheingans (7/3/83) Crusher Blackwell & Ken Patera vs. Dino Bravo & Steve O (8/28/83) Hulk Hogan vs. Mr. Saito (8/28/83) Nick Bockwinkel vs. Wahoo McDaniel (8/28/83) Crusher Blackwell & Ken Patera vs. High Flyers (11/24/83) Nick Bockwinkel vs. Mad Dog Vachon (11/24/83)
  7. I plan n entering my thoughts at DVDVR after we complete Disc 2.
  8. Yeah If we didn't have Musgrave, Sorrow and I might have spent the whole show quizzing Chad on old radio and vaudeville stars. Eddie Cantor was on the tip of my tongue.
  9. With all of the talk of a lack of consensus, I was amazed at the consensus we had with this batch of matches. Who is up for doing a show on Friday night?
  10. Hah, I had watched that match and voted no the first go around. I don't feel that bad

  12. OK, just finished the first episode of the 1980s Wrestling Party. Joining me were Johnny Sorrow, Dave Mother Fucking Musgrave and JVK's BFF Chad. We burned through the first 7 matches of Disc 2 of the AWA. As we do future shows we plan on having a different panel each time. Still working out the kinks but I think the time flew by watching the matches with other wrestling fans. Give it a listen and feel free to join in on the next episode which i will announce shortly. http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkC...6382&cmd=tc

  15. Show starts in about 2 and a half hours. If you want to participate, call in about 5-10 minutes early so I can make sure I know who is on the air. Make sure you have your AWA Disc 2 ready to go when we hit play!!! http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/126382

  17. WanteD to cross post this from the yearbook thread... Jerry Lawler & Bill Dundee vs. Gary Young & John Tatum - Great stuff early on with Young selling both Dundee’s and Lawler’s super punches. The tease of racking Young and crotching him on the ring post early on is really well done. I fucking love the way Young escapes the crotching thanks to Tatum bailing him out only for Lawler to come around crotch him and level him to the floor right before the break. Fucking awesome!!! When we come back ,Dundee does a crotch stomp on Tatum and he sells it like death and they try to crotch him on the ring post! Tatum regroups and as he stands there, Dundee just levels Young with a punch while he is on the apron. Dundee dares Tatum to a test of strength and Tatum is just laughing at him. During the test of strength, Lawler comes in between the two and punches Tatum in the face and he sells it like death. Fuck yeah! With Young back in, he wants a test of strength, and in a sweet spot, both Young and Tatum get punched in the face by Lawler and Dundee after Tatum tries to pull a Lawler and get in the test but Lawler meets him there. At this point, things pick up in a big way with Lawler and Dundee working great as a team but eventually Dundee gets caught in the heel corner. Back from the break, Dundee plays FIP and the heels work him over. Dundee gets a hot tag and Lawler is the legal man but as he is brawling outside, Rod Price knocks Dundee out and Tatum gets a pin on Dundee who is not the legal man. The finish was dogshit but the match was fucking great while it lasted. The comedic elements were funny but the psychology was sound early on. These guys probably had a MOTYC in them if this was the Mid South Coliseum. I need to show this to Phil. He would love this as much as I did.
  18. The problem is that Dan's sources have dried up over the years. We will likely never get that type of volume of puro ever again.
  19. Like most guys who had big peak runs in the 70s, may be hard to do. I will research it.
  20. On Graham Cawthon's podcast interview with Chris Cruise, Cruise claimed that when Hudson was hired, he would basically do announcing for free. According to Cruise, this pissed the announcers off because it would cut into their paychecks in their eyes and it meant the end of Cruise in WCW. How would he respond to Cruise's claim?
  21. Is this the start of the PWO podcast? No.
  22. http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/126382
  23. It is correct.
  24. It also looks like they ran that feud in 89-90, not 88.
