Ok, that is good to know. It should not be long at all before it is complete. I am trying to stall a little until Final Battle is released so I can include Ki-KENTA which is getting lots of raves.

I agree with Loss that Savage could carry someone (Hogan, WM5) but that doesn't necessarily translate into a good match. Again, this is an old topic that Loss and I just disagree on, same with the merits of the WM3 matchup. And I also think Savage had great moments with great workers but not as many as we would have hoped for. Part of this is his reliance on scripting the matches even if it doesn't call for it. This would be similar to Flair having mediocre matches with great performers because he insists on working his match regardless of the strengths of the opponent.

OK, good, I am seeing definite interest. More than having the power to distribute, are you guys (except Loss who I know will talk) willing to discuss your thoughts on the matches?

Yeah, I will probably throw them out on the market for cheap. It will be about 5-6 discs at 4 hours apiece along with a 2hour WWE TV disc thrown in for free. The original plan was to just get them distributed but I don't know if the people who get them would actually talk about them so when they are complete, I'll let you know.

OK, here is my concern, and I encountered it in the MOTYC discs I have been making. Are we really concerned about the best matches or is this just an excuse to acquire more footage? I tried to be as inclusive as possible and my little 2-3 disc project ballooned to 6 discs and it is still growing. Hell, I don't even think anyone is that interested in it except me and Famous Mortimer anyways. If we do that here, we will be distributing 40 discs per category. Looking through the previous lists, it seems like people were just naming off perceived 4-star matches, not actual BEST MATCH EVER candidates. That is why I have a hard time accepting ECW having its own category. They don't really have any Best Match candidates. If we want this to be manageable, we should be a little more exclusive on the matches that would be accepted. If people want to throw out matches then they should be willing to defend their choice with a reasoned and well-written post. If not, it's just listing matches for the sake of listing matches.

I wouldn't give ECW its own category. The fact is there aren't enough must see ECW matches out there for them to deserve their own category. Stick them with U.S. indies. Also, is this just an organization thing or are you ready to press on with it even without all available footage?

5/14/05 Perro Aguayo Jr. vs. Mistico (CMLL) I just watched this for the first time tonight. Man, I'll have to rewatch Rey-Eddie but this may have it beat. I have also heard differing opinions on Joe-Kobashi and its merits so I do not know which one will be my MOTY. However, this one is up there... way up there.

I love DBS as much as the next guy but why is that even up for debate? If you pick up any 3-5 episodes of AJ Classics with Martel featured, they wouldn't even entertain the idea of having DBS and Martel in the same sentence.

Ok, I added some matches that have gotten a show of support from multiple people. One match, I added because one guy from DVDVR and one guy from Smarkschoice recommended it but I don't know if it deserves to be on there (Cannon v. Hero match). I also added Jannetty-Angle and HBK-Benjamin from WWE TV even though I think they are merely entertaining and no way MOTYCs. Still, too many people are praising them to flat out ignore them like I tried to. I have made deals with three people to expedite the process of getting me the missing shows I need in order to finish these before January. If anyone sees anything from the month of December worth including let me know ASAP. I also have about 2-3 more lucha matches I need to include but haven't looked at my list yet. As far as distribution, I am only sending these to people who have the ability to go from DVD to DVD. How they choose to distribute them is up to them. Hopefully, the people I send to will understand that the purpose of this project is to encourage discussion and debate and to give it to people who are willing to give their thoughts on the various matches. Right now, kid zombie has confirmed that he will help distribute them. sek also said he would but I know he has a huge lot of shows he is transferring now so I do not know if he will have the time to commit to it. Loss was going to distribute them but his DVD burner is on the fritz. If anyone else is willing to help distribute the set, let me know.

Absolutely. As sek has mentioned before, if more people actually fought the WWF then you would probably see a change in policy. Pretty ironic that the 2 highest profile losses for the WWE come from today's odd couple... Brock and Sable.

What kills me is the mixture of MMA and Wrestling in the same categories. I wish he would give that shit up already.
