  2. YEah, that was what I was concerned about. If there is no participation, there really isn't any point in posting them.
  3. This is a fine idea if they already have more TV time secured. If not, then it just makes a crowded show more crowded. I can't believe I just agreed with Rudo.
  4. I watched Sting-Flair because of this thread and tried to apply what you guys were talking about but I could not get engaged in that match at all. Maybe it is my total apathy towards both guys but after coming off the 2 tag matches, I had to fight to keep from pressing the fast forward button. I am currently planning a Best of Clash of the Champions set and I will probably have no problem leaving that match off of there.
  5. I was talking to Loss about this and i was concerned about the lack of discussion when it comes to old school wrestling. To be honest, anytime a topic comes up talking about older territories or even early WCW, there is usually a tepid response. We had a decent Mid South thread going for awhile but that was me, Loss, Tim Cooke and sek ramblin on. For awhile, it was just me and Loss posting our match reviews. EastCoastJ brought up World Class recently and that thread went nowhere also. So, would anyone like to hear more old school talk or am I the only one?
  6. To be honest, none of those guys interest me in the least. I was intrigued by Burchill but they buried him already.
  7. To add what has already been said, the original title of the Bret Hart DVD was going to be called "Screwed". The title says it all. The entire DVD was going to lead up to Montreal and then center around WCW's failure to capitalize on Bret. Bret said that he doesn't really care what the Fed does but he was more concerned that his true fans get a better representation of what his career was about. Also, I reported in a former WO update what the Fed's intentions were including unflattering quotes from Roddy Piper, HBK, Hulk Hogan and others...
  8. Whatever happens, unless it involves a Rey Mysterio push for the title, there is a 99% chance I will not be watching.
  9. If you want the old Eyada WOL show, you need to contact kid zombie. He has all of them archived on 5 cds.
  10. Except that running full speed into a turnbuckle sternum first makes more sense than a kip-up, a flip over the turnbuckle, a flair flop, turning around during a whip to the turnbuckle or even the irish whip that sent him there.
  11. And as much of a hack as SK is, I doubt he even came up witth that shitty saying. Still, Bret Hart's matches all have a distinct personality that makes each one unique. Compare that to Flair who's matches would be the same regardless of the opponent except in a few cases liike Steamboat or Jumbo.

  14. Thanks, I do have the 1988 tag match. Are there any single matches that play into the match as well or just the tags you have listed?
  15. Alright, wolverine, I'll ask you what I asked Tim about 6/3/94. What matches leading to 12/96 do I need to see to make me see the light because 6/9/95 happens to be my favorite match of all-time? I enjoyed Kobashi much more than Akiyama. I thought the story of 6/9/95 had no language barriers. You could go in cold and come out knowing you just saw an awesome display of in-ring story telling that only gets deeper when you gather the backstory. Whereas 12/96 left me cold, thinking that there has to be another reason why people are pimping this match. However, Loss said he thought Akiyama played his role better than Kobashi and basically echoes the exact same words so what matches have you guys seen that I haven't? As for the joshi matches, I love the tag match, probably my 2nd favorite match on this list and am burnt out on Kandori-Hokuto. With the Dramslam match, I really, really, really wish they would not have done the mindless brawling in the crowd. With that match, Austin-Bret, etc., it always looks so contrived. Get back in the ring and beat the shit out of each other already. With 6/3/94, I am currently in the process of picking up all the matches Tim mentioned HERE so my thoughts on 6/3/94 may change. So, I am going with... 1. 6/9/95 2. 11/26/92 3. 06/03/94 4. 12/06/96 5. 04/02/93
  16. Ok, so I put in the Legends Q&A from earlier this year in and this was an entertaining group of guys to throw together... Kamala, Missing Link, Marty Jannetty, Koko B Ware, Jake the Snake, One Man Gang, Tito Santana... and Ballz Mahoney(???) Anyway, Marty Jannetty tells a fucking hilarious story about a night with the Iron Sheik. In Des Moines Iowa, marty wanted to fuck some girl but had one of his former ring rats waiting for him so Marty tells Sheik to look after the old fling. While Marty is in his hotel room, the cops come to Marty's room looking for the Iron Sheik. Marty got rid of the cops then rushed to Sheik's room. On his way there, he sees the ambulance lights and sees a girl being stretchered out on a gurney. In Iron Sheik's voice... "Marty, you ask me to look after girl. You know you tell me keep eye on girl. I take care of girl for you. End of night I bring her up to room to wait for you. She tires so I give her little something you know, to keep her up Marty, you know I do that for you. Then the girl talk about drink so I give her some drink. she get a little nervous so I give her some pills, calm her down. Marty, you know, I do this for you. and then all of a sudden Marty I give her everything in the world and then she looked at me and said "Marty, where's Marty?" I said, Marty no disrespect, but I said "A Fuck Marty, did Marty give you coke, did Marty give you all things A to Z?" Then Marty, I give her short clothesline. Marty: "Sheik, short clothesline? She's on a gurney outside. Sheik: "Oh, she moved. "
  17. I just got it from teke a couple of weeks ago. I'll pop that in after I finish watching the Briscoes Q&A.
  18. In Bret's defense he has remained consistent of what has happened in nearly every interview on nearly every single subject. Lumping him w/ Nogan and McMahon is just wrong.
  19. Who knows? He refused to discuss it as you can tell by threatening to choke out that cocksucker, Gabe.
  20. OK, before I traqnscribe this thought from Ken Patera, do not waste money or time on the On The Road w/ Tajiri and Super crazy disc... unless you want to hear them listen to bad techno along with the kiddie fucker. Worst shoot ever. Moving on, listen to the Ken Patera Straight Shootin' shoot;. Whatever you do, find an audio or video clip o this. Gabe mentions the McDonalds incident in the 80s and Patera responds... "Fuck you, I dont want to talk about that shit. You want me to choke you out now or later you cocksucker? I dont talk about that bullshit. We have plenty to talk about. Fuck about that bullshit about me, it was all a setup and everything anyway. I spent 2 years of my life in that stinky old prison and you know, that was under McMahons watch. I was wrestling for him when all that shit went down. Fuck it, lets move on..."
  21. The most disheartening sign was that Meltz said Juvi and Kash wrestled their hearts out and the crowd just shit a big pile of poop on them. If you thought the cruisers were buried before, i can only imagine how they will be booked now. Then again, he may shove cruisers down our throats just to get back at the fans.
  22. Guess Benoit's demise has been greatly exaggerated.
  23. Results from the Meltz.... SPOILER ALERT
