  1. SD!! Spoilers........ Don't go forward........ Do not pass go........... According to Meltz's spoilers... Looks like i'll be seeing more of these guys
  2. Well, I turn on RAW to give it a second shot as Bischoff announces the Last Man Standing match. Now, if you aren't watching, this is great... the crowd shits on Lita. Trish tries to deflect the heat towards her but Lita gets hers. Might as well make her a heel right now... or is she a heel? If she is a face, she is the worst face since HonkyTonk Man debuted. Well, they make an ugly segment uglier with Viscera coming out. So, Piper gets signed. Viscera is back. Matt Hardy and Rhyno get released? Gotta love this company.
  3. Some Guy, I agree with you about Sting but I was being a smartass. Onto Bret Hart... Was he more jaded about Montreal or the business deal gone bad? Jobbing to Shawn was more of an ego thing and the two did not get along. People refuse to do jobs all the time. Also, knowing he was going to WCW at the time, if his reasoning was to keep the Hitman name financially marketable, and whathaveyou, then if he did so economically, you should def. appeciate that. And in reality, these are all business decisions that affected him. In WWF, they damaged his name. In WCW, they prevented him from drawing the money he needed to keep himself marketable. I am thinking of this from a financial standpoint. So, was he bitter over his legacy or his legacy being damaged to the point of not being able to draw money? Not that they don't exist, but show me the articles where he still bemoans Montreal. I think enough has happened in his life that Montreal is small potatoes. I am on Bret's side when it comes to the Flair debate. One of the main reasons is because Flair's book has so many fallacies and inaccuracies, I don't trust his word at all. Also, and you'll see them soon enough, the matches Flair had with Bret tell the story. Flair was completely outclassed by Bret. You may think differently but I think it will really open your eyes.
  4. I don't think being a mark for yourself is being mentally unstable. Hogan is a self-promoter and he does it better than anyone. Should he give it up? Of course, but he is no different than any other aging star who's best years are long gone. Bret Hart's problems are caused by wrestling but I think they transcend wrestling also. Death of family. Divorce. Stroke. Even without wrestling, those things would cause tremendous stress on anyone. Agreed that Piper and Savage are lunatics. Luger... Drug addict. Nothing more to it. That is an entirely different mental illness.
  5. OK, it's funny. I never went to Meltzer's site unless it was to view PPV results or to look at what he Observer was going to have in it that week. Now that I ordered a subscription, I have been reading it everyday without fail.
  6. Does MNM stand for something or is it simialr to M N' M or Eminem. You say they have been raving about them but what is their schtick? Never heard of them or heard anyone talk about them.
  7. MNM, Loss?
  8. From the Observer I have never heard of them. Can anyone shed some more light on these guys?
  9. I never knew this. It is also the dumbest thing I ever heard. I just recieved a big chunk of WWF tv from the time Vader was in the company so I'll have to keep my ear open when Vader is on the screen.

  11. Oh well, it did not arrive Either the money got tied up somewhere or I ordered it after the mailing list went out. Or mayeb I am just expecting it too soon.
  12. I think your plan is a great idea Loss and would probably generate more payoffs, more marquee matches and would be a great success as long as Eugene got his ass beat in the end. Unfortunately, we would never get that kind of payoff because the fed has been abysmal in giving the fans satisfactory closure.
  13. Here is the full Brutus Beefcake interview from the Observer website...
  14. Well, if you are right, then I should be getting it when I get off work. If I have time today, I'll type up some news and notes that we can discuss.
  15. Just curious.. for anyone who has ordered the Observer, what day does it normally arrive?

  18. I wouldn't argue with you but I have been trying to watch SD! lately. I caught half of the Eddie-Angle match this week and even though JBL will probably get his rematch, I am interested in seeing how it plays out. It also helps that there are SD! spoilers to help me eliminate the time slots I have no interest in seeing.
  19. You're way too nice. I agree with Nik. Hell, this might actually make me watch RAW on a regular basis again... presuming he stays off TV for awhile.
  20. Hey Tim, did you omit London-Dragon from Epic Encounter on purpose? I know you used to rave about that match.
  21. I cannot see any good coming from this. Sometimes, it is good to let go and go away. i wish these old fuckers would realize this.
  22. I know some people have reservations about Angle/Benoit from the Rumble. Are you one of them, or did you legitimately overlook that match? I didn't overlook it but I had to look at it from the perspective of MOTD status. It is great to see Benoit get the ovation he deserves since he was so misused up to this point but the match itself is a "good" match, not a great one.
  23. The match of the decade... I have a wishlist a mile long of Japanese and Lucha wrestling that I need to see before I even consider a match of the decade. In WWE, I am really hard-pressed to pick a clear-cut Match of the Decade. In 2001, I liked Rock-Austin, Benoit-Austin (My MOTY for WWE in 2001), and Rock-Jericho... but nothing else reallly stands out, just as Loss indicated, from that year. In 2002, I can't think of one WWE match I would consider a MOTD. In 2003, I'm drawing ablank there also. In 2004, JBL-Eddie and Brock-Eddie stand out in my mind but I think i'll have to re-evaluate them later on down the line while comparing them to these other matches. This year, I haven't seen any WWE matches at all except for last week's SD!. For ROH, 2002 had no clear-cut MOTD candidates since all of those matches were blown away by stuff they did later. In 2003, you have American Dragon-Paul London but that pales in comparison to the stuff that went on in 2004. In 2004, there are two clear-cut MOTD candidates: Joe-Punk II and Joe-Punk III. Right now, if you were to put a gun to my head, I'd go with Joe-Punk II since it is one of the best matches I have seen that I would hold against any other match in any other company for the last 10 years... seriously.
  24. Just finished the Secrets of the RIng interview with Raven. To be hones, he doesn't tell you much you don't already know about putting together a logical match; what it takes to be an effective babyface; being able to think on the fly. If I was a little less informed, I probably would have enjoyed it more but as it stands, I don't know if I'll get the next couple of installments as they implied he would be doing more of these.
  25. 2/3 of the way into the Mick Foley shoot. This shoot picks up where his 2nd book left off and he has no shortage of words. He dissects Flair's words and makes the Nature Boy look like a babbling idiot, at least as far as his book is concerned. He talks about proposed angles and arguments with Vince McMahon and the flaws of the Invasion. All in all, very informative and bruatally honest. I need to finish the 2nd disc that elaborates even more on his thoughts on Flair before I make a final judgment on the shoot.
