I was discussing the same thing with Dylan and the reaction crew last night. Was that a legit quote?

Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn - I love they treated this as a fight - Man, that early powerbomb tease was awesome. - Oh man, after the DDT counter into an armbreaker, I thought Owens was going to destroy the arm. I like that he didn’t and missed the corner cannonball. - Man, what a lame way to finish the Special. There has been far sicker stuff that warranted a stoppage than one powerbomb. - Regal trying to break it up was great. - OK , Samoa Joe coming out made it all ok.

YEah, I was paying attention to the arm selling and everything she did was with her good arm in terms of impact. I have no problem with either women selling.

Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch - Man, just not fucking up the early rollup and pin exchanges feels like a huge victory for NXT womens wrestling over main roster divas. - I like how Becky Lynch breaks out the fancy offense only to get dropped by Sasha being smarter. - Banks is a torture machine and her straight jacket offense was awesome - That work on the left arm is just amazing. Dick Murdoch would be proud. - When Becky finally powerlifts out of the armbar, she fucking earned her escape. - Christ, the armwork from Lynch on Banks was nearly just as awesome and nasty. - Holy shit, that finish was awesome. Banks was done, Lynch had the momentum and she blew it by going up top and setting Banks up for that falling armbar leading to the submission. - Amazing match. Easily the best of the night so far and the best NXt women’s match I have seen yet. Nothing else comes close.

Blacke & Murphy vs. Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady - What the hell was that intro from Enzo and Cassady??? I am guessing that is a regular thing on the TV show. - Man, Blake & Murphy’s hair… digging it. - B&M were no great shakes on offense but the DDT counter by Enzo was nasty. - The setup for that ending felt like it belonged on a local indy show but not on an NXT special.
-
Baron Corbin vs. Rhyno - I missed it. Did Rhyno get attacked early on or is he forced to wrestle with his shirt on? - Rhyno took a nasty spill from the top rope to the floor. - Corbin still doesn’t impress me as a whole but the finishing lariat and End of Days combo looked impressive.
-
Bayley & Charlotte vs. Emma & Dana Brooke - Man, Emma pulling Bayley off the top rope was nasty - Energetic but you can tell they aren’t used to tagging with each other as there were some timing miscues. - I do like mean Emma though.
-
Finn Balor vs. Tyler Breeze - I love both entrances. Good shit all around. - I saw a guy wearing Finn’s jaws. Is that a new merchandise item? - I think the crowd chants are distracting me from the match since they aren’t happening in ideal places… just randomly throughout - Really fun opener. Nothing deep. Nothing MOTYC about it but fun either way.

Itami attacked in the parking lot!!! Going old school to keep him out of the match.

Coming soon to P2B, JT Rozzero and I are going to debut The Dangerous Alliance podcast. In the spirit of shows like Pardon the Interruption, we'll be discussing the history of wrestling using a variety of timed topics and games. Each segment will have a set time for us to discuss, debate, argue and call each other foul names. We will pull the different games in and out of rotation with some topics being random, other being time sensitive. Hey, the Price is Right didn't always have Plinko. Each episode will have a mailbag where we answer questions. Both wrestling and non wrestling topics are welcomed... the more random and insane the better. Use this thread to ask questions or leave comments we can read on the air.

I picked DIbiase and I don't even think it is close. Unlike Phil, Kris Z and I didn't come away from the Mid South project thinking Dibiase had a lot of shit performances. If the loaded glove gimmick isn't for you, I get it. Then again, people tell me the hidden chain gimmick isn't for them. Different strokes. From 1982-1987, he had good to great matches with nearly every person to go through Mid South and I never felt Ted was phoning it in the way I felt Rude would do for large stretches of his career. Anything Ted did in Georgia or All Japan was just gravy on top during this time frame. For the WWF portion of their careers, I guess I would pick Rude but it isn't by an overwhelming margin but instead because of a small handful of great performances that Rude took part in including the Piper and Warrior matches that stand out from the DIbiase WWF run. All the talk about character work and who was really a piece of scum is just distractions. They were both very effective as characters in WWF. Rude could be absolutely dismal in WWF (Roberts Mania 4 match) where I often thought Ted was merely dull. Rude had an awesome 1992. 1992 WCW was awesome with or without Rude. I don't think one standout year and a handful of good-great WWF performances outweighs the 5 year Mid South run from Ted. Ted could have never wrestled another match after his Mid South run and I would still pick Ted. Rude needed that one year in WCW just to be in the conversation.

Headbutts that cause hardway cuts. That's some good work! -
Everybody has their own set of criteria. Everyone will be shackled by their limitations.

I brought this up on the show and again talking to a Steven last night... there is definitely a shift either in policy or wrestlers not giving a fuck because the blood has been pretty free flowing since Mania. When Christian and Shelton Benjamin had a ladder match at TLC 2009 and Christian got hard way blood, they stopped the match for an eternity. Graham mentioned one of the Punk Rey matches to me last night where they took forever to get him to stop bleeding. They may not do close ups and blood inspired camera shots but they aren't killing the flow of the matches at all when there is blood.

On the reaction show, Kris Z claims that the Lana chants are now being piped in. Did you see any signs that indicate the Lana chants are being piped in?

Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins - Really fun but predictable to start with guys pairing off and the extended selling on the outside. Kane helping Rollins was predictable. - The 30 second Shield reunion was super fun and the 2 power bombs on the table put the cherry on top. - The crowd was amped for the Ambrose - Reigns showdown. They should have called an audible right then and there and had one of those 2 win the belt with a Shield 3 way planned for Summerslam. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. So predictable.

I know you weren't making shit up. I am surprised Dave would engage in such pettiness though.
-
Barrett vs. Neville - Man, this crowd is Stardust level quiet. - The biggest problem with Neville is how they are promoting him. He isn't really allowed to display his jaw dropping moves. He isn't any more exciting than previous little guys. - Shit finish to a blah match.
