DOI is good for humor, but anything they report as news should be taken with, give or take, a truckload of salt. When Sapolsky was booking ROH, DOI had stories every other day about Gabe, most of which wound up being shot all to hell.

Hey Bix, it's not Sid related, but does Bruno talk at all about the story from Foley's first book where Brickhouse pulled the gun in the locker room? Foley's book says that he only pulled it on Bruno, who got scared shitless. Brickhouse says in his shoot interview that he pulled it on the whole locker room (minus Jeff Jarrett, because he was the only one not laughing at Bruno's jokes) and they all hit the floor scared out of their minds.

I didn't get this DVD, but I just watched this match today and feel the need to talk about it. I first saw this about five years ago when I was first getting into Joshi. This was one match that was very highly touted. My initial reaction to this was thinking that it was truly epic. Not because I'd been told it was great, but because that was how I actually felt. I also recall a debate on one of the boards over which 8/22/85 match was better, and I was floored that ANYONE could pick Lioness/Jaguar over it. Fast forward almost six years later, I happened across the tape and decided it would make a nice father/daughter bonding moment to watch this together. I'm able to recognize that it's a good match, but I'm lost of why I thought it was so epic before. I'd like to think that maybe I was somewhat distracted by holding the baby and having to pick up her pacifier a few times.

Considering the WWF's current state in '95, would a program between Diesel and Jarrett/Roadie for Summerslam done much better than Diesel/King Mabel?

Cornette's Dunn impersonations are priceless. As is his description of Dunn's job title "The executive asshole. . . I mean vice president of the WWE."

I do, to a certain extent, although I don't agree with it. Like you said, which I do agree with, Flair, Bret, Savage, and Steamboat were already there before him. But Shawn was the first main event who really worked a style with more emphasis on flying and bumping, which was unique for a main eventer at that point. Flair, Bret, and even Steamer to a point, were more technical workers. I think Flair was a better bumper overall, but didn't take to the air like Shawn. Savage took to the air a lot, for his time in the late '80's, but not nearly as much as Shawn did in the '90's.

I'll agree with Shawn about disliking the boyhood dream angle. I never understood why they went in that direction, considering he'd spend the better part of the previous four years as a sleazeball heel.

According to Raven, the lawsuit was dismissed due to statute of limitations. He was told that had he filed the lawsuit two years earlier, he'd have a slam dunk case.

As a 27 year old adult who has read and heard plenty about the lifestyle during the '80's, not surprised at all. As a nineteen year old, mostly mark, who read Pure Dynamite and read that Bret Hart, who'd always been heralded as the hero and role model, yes, it took me by surprise.

I'm actually surprised that Stuart hasn't canned the AJPW page the way he did the NOAH page. It's going on three months of no updates.

I actually first lost respect for him when I read Pure Dynamite, and Billington's story about him, Bret, and JYD smoking crack all night. DK made no bones about his drugs, and JYD's issues were well known, but I was surprised (then) to hear about Bret partaking in it.

I've been wanting to check out some recent ROH and this was one of the matches that had been getting huge pimping, like codegreen said, glad to read this before dropping the $20.

The sheer amount of time and money to make the definitive complete Flair comp is staggering. Of course, if Will actually undertook this massive task, he could probably sell ten sets and retire for a couple of years.

Given Todd's propensity for parrotting Meltzer, I'm guessing his reply to that (perfectly valid) criticism would be that you can't compre wrestling from the last decade to this one. It's two different eras.

My interest in wrestling is still present, but it's in a different form now. I much more enjoy things like shoot interviews and discussions about other aspects of the business. Before 1/4 I hadn't watched Raw since September, and before that it was probably April or May. Wrestling just doesn't hold my interest. I still try to keep up with the current happenings, thanks to the wonders of the interweb. But the current WWE and TNA products feature next to nothing that makes me want to go out of my way to watch. Factor in my recent fatherhood and things like my job and other non-wrestling related hobbies and wrestling just isn't high on my list of priorities anymore.
